Well my point is some classes aren’t left vulnerable at all since they are immune to everything while stomping, I don’t think that is okay. It is a negative play experience and allows for zero player interaction.
Was curious what everyone thinks about people being immune to everything while finishing a person off. Personally I find it to be one of the most frustrating aspects of pvp, and I’m not sure why it is allowed. Does anyone actually think this is a cool/unique or fair mechanic?
Quickness, stability and stealth stomps aren’t as much an issue as you can at least try to CC the person, DPS them down or strip stability/cc etc. These all allow for interaction both from the person on the ground and the person’s team mates.
I would also point out this breaks certain aspects of the game such as groups/a few people being able to negate a solo person due to the fact the solo person will likely not be able to stomp. Now when the solo individual can down someone and stomp with no fear of taking damage or being interrupted…
So why is this still allowed? I can’t think of a single more negative play experience than getting stomped by a person in mist form, assuming most people feel the same.
Sort of blows my mind that they are pairing premades against solo players, pretty sure every other MMO (or moba) figured this out ages ago.
If you want to let people duo queue sure, w/e. But if it continues like this I don’t see any reason for those of us who don’t have a full team to play.
“Oh just go find a team” etc. IS NOT a reasonable reply or excuse for this sort of system.
Same complaints as the other posters as to the builds never changing as well, not really sure how to say it constructively but letting the same classes/bunker builds dominate feels pretty bad.
Forgot to add, we should really be able to see our elo/mmr, if for no other reason it is nice to know if we are making progress.

Just don’t agree that 100b is the end all for the class, the mobility of the GS is great but axe/mace has plenty of killing power as well without locking you in an animation.
Completely agree on the only viable way to play being full glass, assassin style, get in/get out. Thief just does it better with lower risk given stealth, so warrior essentially fills no niche other than a high mobility DPS (which again thief does, with less liability).
Let me be clear this isn’t an issue of how to play against a bunker or any given spec/class. My “main” and or class I’ve spent the most time with is a necro, I’m perfectly familiar with condi damage and boon stripping.
My point is the current state of PvP is pretty poor, and isn’t fun. I can’t stress it enough, this is not simply a power level issue but one of negative game play. I thought they wanted this to be an esport but who is going to want to watch a super boring battle of attrition against the multitude of tank specs.
There is no risk playing a bunker spec and no incentive to play glass DPS (the latter usually requiring the most twitch/skill in games).
100b isn’t even that good, any half decent player has learned to counter/dodge that ages a go.
You can totally see it coming and prevent it unlike other spike damage, say mug+cnd+backstab, or a ranged stun then spike from a mesmer.
PvP feels like it has gotten pretty stale with most players running super defensive bunker builds, combine this with retaliation and it is sort of ruins the whole experience for me. (Boon duration stacking in general is also a problem)
I don’t see why players who are (generally) at a disadvantage playing high risk/high reward glass DPS builds can just be tanked down, or in the case of retaliation just kill themselves. There is no “play around it” or decision making when the up-time on retaliation is a joke and there really aren’t enough ways to strip boons.
GW2 PvP feels about as fun right now as the 2 healer+War/DK arena matches used to be in WoW or the full on tank DPS craze that was LoL for the longest time.
Now in both cases those games fixed themselves, so I’m just curious if there are any plans to do this for GW2 as well (obv, but specifics?). I feel like not only is this a serious flaw with the current balance, but it also promotes the most negative/miserable play experience.
