annoying lags delay

Yeah same here. Depending on which server they are hosted, it seems like some instances are really really laggy (either tPvP, dungeons, overflow).

I’m usually the patient sort, but it’s been weeks, and it’s making me hate the game a bit more everytime I try to tPvP on one of thse laggy servers.

tPvP lags, overflow lags, dungeon instances lag…

It seems random however, it all depends of the server your instance is hosted on.

I really hope that stuff will be fixed soon. A few more week of this nonsense and I’m just going to give up GW2 and give all my money to some other game.

This lag has to stop !

I’m really getting fed up by some of your servers. I’m an European player and I don’t know why, but some of your tPvP instances are really really laggy. My actions won’t fire up, I see people teleport all around me, things don’t move during 3 to 5 seconds (beside me) and then everything happens at once and I usually get nuked pretty hard at this point with no way to do anything.

I’m wondering if you guys aren’t trying to cut corners here and are using some US tPvP servers for European players… because sometimes it really feels like I’m playing on a server hosted on the other side of the world… and yeah, I may not own the fastest internet connection ever, but it’s fast enough to play your game (heck, on some tPvP servers I don’t have any lag at all).

Add on top of that your endless loading bug in tPvP and you’ve got yourself a really screwed up game which I really don’t enjoy at all at the moment (and as far as I know, I’m far from being the only one with this lag issue).

Please do something about these… I haven’t been able to enjoy a single night of GW2 for weeks now. Everytime I play your game I get really infuriated by these lags and I just end up closing the game… some day I just won’t bother coming back at all.

Edit : oh and yes, I know there’s already a [Merged] topic about lags… but it has over 600 replies and it seems like the devs don’t even bother looking at it. You’d think something would have been done by now with all the fuss going on in this thread.

Classes and PvE strength

I disagree about the Thief part (don’t know about the others).

I leveled from 1 to 80 and did all the personal quests in solo without any issue, while my friends seem to be struggling with their other classes. Heck, most of the time I even had equipment 20 to 30 levels below my current level.

And in dungeons I always seem to be the last man standing when something goes awry. Of course avoid the glass canon build, a condition/power/vita build will grant you more dps over time (instead of a single spike of damages every now and there) and more survivability (more hp + the usual thief “finesse” that lets you dodge most damages).

Endless loading screens are BACK! [Merged threads]

Yes ! I just got one of those (first time doing PvP since the last patch), and I remember they used to be here and got fixed… so, now it’s broken again ?

+ tournament servers are lagging for me. But that’s another topic (which doesnt’ seem to be really important for Anet).

PvP Dailies/Monthlies: Really?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

PvP dailies/monthlies are a good idea, don’t remove them ! As a PvP player this gives me more incentives to play on a regular basis. Of course, that’s still not enough, but I’m sure that Anet will keep adding interesting things to PvP… After all, weren’t they talking about making GW2 PvP a big thing ? Because so far it’s fun, but kind of a lack luster.

Profession senators

Anet, why wouldn’t you select/recruit some members of your community in order to help with the whole professions balancing ? I mean, there’s so much (good & bad) feedback going on these forums that it must be a nightmare to handle all of it by yourselves. Can you really sort all of it in an efficient manner ?

Chose a representant for each profession we have in-game, and let them help you with getting the feedback from the community (on the forums, give them some “powers” to make stickies, polls and what not). Of course these senators would need to have a strong knowledge of their representing profession and of the game in general.

We used to have those back on Star Wars Galaxies, and it was a great way for the community to be heard in a very efficient manner and for the devs to have some players to rely on to get some good feedbacks.

Think about it

I don’t know and I don’t care if they’re only 2 working on balancing that game.

However I think it wouldn’t hurt if Anet was selecting a few “Profession senator” among the very best players of each classes (could be a public vote for each, idk), just to have direct and reliable feedback, instead of having to sort all the BS and the truth going on in these forums.

The Prof Senators would ofc have to discuss with the community and see which issues should be brought to the game designers.

Do Asura look cool in any medium armor set?

Put some effort in SPvP! Fix this please

I really hope the next content patch after Lost Shore won’t be about PvE… again. sPvP requires a lot of work right now, even if Conquest works it is (as stated above) quite limited.

- We need more incentive to play sPvP and become good at it.

- And we need more sPvP content (new maps, new modes, etc).

I know it’s a lot of work, but I’m really hoping Anet is already working on it and will be able to make an announcement pretty soon. Right now sPvP and its future doesn’t look bright to me.

PVP random lags

Edell.1286

I’m having the same issues ! (I just posted in the “official” [merged] thread).

For some reason, once I reach the third map of the tournament, the game starts to (network) lag. At first I thought it was my ISP, but after several checks I don’t think it is anymore… I feel like I’m wasting the time of my team because of this issue, yet sPvP is the only thing I like to do in GW2 :p

I hope Anet will find a way to resolve this.

Network Lag [Merged]

Edell.1286

I hope devs are still reading this thread :

Recently I’ve been having horrible network lags during the third round of tournaments (rounds 1 and 2 are totally okay). At first I thought that was my ISP, but after several checks I’ve seen no evidence of any change in my bandwidth, nor any packet loss. So, I have no idea why this is happening, and I hope it can somehow be fixed on Anet’s end (the server for the third map might require some tweaking ? :p ).

And yeah I’m 1000% positive it’s network lag : I’m rubber banding, skills don’t fire properly, enemies nuke me out of nowhere, etc.

I’m kind of tired of wasting everyone’s time by kittening my team with this issue. And SPvP is the main thing I like about GW2 :p

How to expand Rata Sum ! :)

in Suggestions

Edell.1286

I really wish I could do more stuff in Rata Sum. I’m really in love with the design of the Asuras, their culture and their society. However for the moment, the only time you get to immerse yourself in their world is during the Asura-specific personal storyline and the heart quest in Metrica Province… and I’m sad to say that I’ve completed all of these

I believe it would be great if Rata Sum could get some non-combat Dynamic Events to make things interesting for those who love to wander aimlessly in that city. For example :
- the Moa trainer could lose from time to time some of his pets. They could be hidden in random places for the players to go look for them.
- The barmaid on the third floor could use a hand collecting dishes after her service (yeah I know, totally not epic, but you know, it’s just for immersion).
- A prisonner could have escaped from his cell and may be hidden among the population. It would be up to the players to investigate and discover which one is the prisonner.
- A pop quizz held by an Asura teacher, players would have to get in the proper area and start answering his questions with very basic words.
- etc etc

There could be achievements for these, and titles !

At least we’d have a real reason to go back there (so far I’m going there to avoid the crowds in Lion’s Arch, and for the incredible art design), and it would be possible to enjoy more of the world of the Asuras.

Of course those ideas could also be used to make other race-specific cities more interesting… but why would anyone want to spend so much time with inferior species ? (just kidding :p )

Anyway, I’m sure there are also other ways to make main cities in this game more appealing (like housing… but that would require its own thread), so if you guys have more ideas, please share them

Backstab, time to nerf.

in Thief

Posted by: Edell.1286

Edell.1286

Ah ! I used to run a glass cannon/backstab build… the one every thief goes with when they’re thinking about PvP. But then I started to get real bored of it (it was mostly hit or miss, depending of how good your opponents were), also I knew that at some point that thing would get nerfed (insta gib backstab thief build is not balanced. It’s not OP to the point that a thief gets a God Mode, but its mechanics are not trully adapted to the rest of the game)… so instead I rolled a P/P&D/D build with a lot of condition damages and I hope we get a boost in it (even if it’s not needed)

No class should insta-gib...

I agree. While I used to put these lack of balance on the account that it’s a MMORPG. I believe Anet could do way better by looking toward games like Super Monday Night Combat and try to balance their game untill the point of no extreme is possible BUT you still have many way to “express” yourself as a gamer (multiple way to play your favorite class, just so you may feel “unique”).
