Nice Ele tOss. That stability kills me in the end. Usually I spam #1 into fear into poison into rez. With 50% dmg increase on down it works alot. You negate it. Grrrr… Imma work on circumventing you sir

I was pretty upset about the way the game was turning out pre Nov-15 patch. I’m all Pvp and Pve is taking the spotlight >_<

was my response to seeing the patch not addressing the PvP issues. It did effect major bugs that some classes were exploiting, but not all of them. I even went so far as to post a thread stating I was done with this kitten and moving on to something else.

And I did. I logged off. Hid my GW2 files deep inside my tower and deleted all viewable shortcuts. Rage quit >.< “grr. yeah take that Anet! I sure showed you!”

After a few days of cooling off, looking for something to replace GW2 I started thinking on all the other games I had played upon their releases, whether they were console or pc. Were they all like this? were they bugged and content lacking a few months after release and just skeletons of what they would eventually evolve into…?

Yes. They all were. Infact some of the best ones took over a year or two to develop what the players wanted.

So I came back. Logged back on, patted my necro on the back and with a sigh
“ok Ember’ let’s try again.”

And to be honest… I’ve been having fun ever since. Maybe I just needed to get a break from the forums and away from all the raging to see the game for what it really is, and more importantly… where it will be. And I have high hopes.

So what I’m getting at is simple (and will prolly get flamed for it);
Sincerely, keep up the good work Anet. The game is amazing. Yeah there are bugs and exploits and little annoyances that can be removed or bandaged but instead of getting upset, I’m just going to record everything I find and post it in the bug section to help out as much as I can. Thanks for the updates on whats going on with development even if theyre just vague whispers of whats really going on. When you’re frustrated pouring over coding that needs to be fixed after getting blasted on the forums, just think of all of us here that actually appreciate the hard work youre putting into this. Im just playing the game, youre all making it.

Nevermind. I’m not continuing this discussion TheZeus. Glad I can read other players’ posts because all you have to say are negative things yet keep coming back to the forums. Ehhh…. I tend to enjoy this more with people that are open minded than what sounds like rage quit posts. I’ll say this though, the game has been out for several months… can you refer to another PC game that was stable enough to implement all these pvp features you are asking for in such a short amount of time, without the bugs that are currently in the mix? I will go on continuing to have fun with the Pvp GW2 currently has, while still hoping for the best. If I had to pay a monthly fee to do so, than maybe I would feel the same way.

Im not talking about the servers like tarnished coast or desolation or dragonbrand. Im talking about the servers in the HotM. This needs screenshots i guess. No use having a convo without some proof i suppose. ’Ll screenshot some at 0200 than some at 1800. Fraps some tpvp que time to show it too. Itll be up tomorrow night.

Yus. Ive done it before. Ill try to upload the vid when i get off cq duty in my barracks tomorrow. Right now im sitting at a desk using my phone to reply lol. Btw anyone saying no… please lets 1v1 with your ele bunker. Its the hardest for me but i do it 40% of the time.

Im still not getting my question answered. Just saying its dead than going on a list of what it should have doesnt prove its dead. Are people not pvping in your region? Maybe its just my region that has pvpers? I know when i hit the unhide all full servers box in spvp theres ALOT that are full. If pvp were dead i would think that the forums would be less active as well. Perhaps the word dead is better replaced with… stale… or simple? Theres so many people playing to rank up and perfect their builds and solidify their stance in pvp before it takes off in order to already be at the top. Its far from dead. Dead is like signing into eq2 and being 1 of 10 on the whole server.

Well its a good thing my ability to have fun is not based on another person’s viewpoints. Also, id rather not restrict what a player chooses to play as we all have the option of picking our opponants right now

Im a little confused. By Mists being empty…. do we mean the servers in spvp or the lobby were we stand around and chat? Everytime i look theres a bunch of servers with people pvping in them. Im glad theyre not sitting around just chilling. Im not getting the whole pvp is dead thing… tpvp is a little bit of a wait on off hours because its regional. Someone clarify please

you dont have to have plague form ready to use all yur elites. I roll around with my golem up and switch to plague form as soon as i need it. as soon as you switch to the plague the golem dies so you need good timing. In Tpvp i node hold but usually initiate with the golem out so them think im not a plague user.

If plague/lich form is on cooldown you cannot switch your elites around. If golem is summoned and “charge” is not on cooldown you can switch your elite to lich or plague.

Hey kitten If you read what you are replying to than maybe you’d. Notice that I never said anything about charge or CD. Just having the golem up than switching to plague… no charge, no cooldowns. Thats what throws people off. Pay attention please… it’s your thread.

Same here, It’s impossible to get a good tourney going with everyone trying the new content. Oh well, they’ll be back. I’ve got 30 something tickets right now without spending money on any of them. just do the dailys, win some free tourneys and open some chests. You’ll get them. Just make sure you go in premade or you’ll just be throwing away tickets

There has to be something in development. There was an option that was in the BLTP when the game was released for changing your appearance again but they removed it because it was either bugged or was not supposed to be released yet. Im sure Its coming, Im waiting on it too.

Making a suggestion because it’s impossible to pvp other regions.

I understand ping might interfere and delays can ruin the game. But there’s many of us with great speed and ping that would love to test our strength and fortitude against other champions heralding from the far regions of Earth.

So my suggestion is simple in nature;
Can we eventually get a few servers that Host Cross Region Pvp in the HotM? Maybe some here in Us and some over in Eu so bad pingers can play on a server in their own region. Not saying it’s the biggest priority. I’d much rather see different game modes and bugs fixed… but I would love to see this implemented in the future. Allows us to see who’s the best in the World too

Yeah i just tried Pvping Teabaker and Kaplis, both are Eu, Im US. Grr. frustrating

Ran into a problem. Myself and Kaplis are trying to Pvp but he is Eu and I am USA. Is there a possible way around the regional barrier?

personally I use the downed state for strategy. I spec’d my trait to give me 50% more dmg while downed and if im close to dropping a foe and my skills are on cooldown, I’ll let him drop me so i can kill him off faster. I spend a good portion of fights doing that because someone thinks they can just run up and hit “F” for a quick kill. last second fear cast while spamming life siphon and throwing down poison takes away half a guy’s health like that. Obviously I play different against stability builds. But I dont see Downed State as a mess to the game. I’d be more upset if I just died with the current skills and traits Anet has given me.

I’m currently looking for a guild that is Pvp orientated. I play nights and can be on reasonable quick with a text alert. I play a sylvari necromancer. 27yrs old, mature and won’t ruin good video/audio feed with childish behavior. That being said, I’m not an elitist, or ignorant to good advice and giving some as well. I do not like long walks on the beach, I hate sand….

I’m looking for a PVP Guild, preferably one that likes to Tpvp and might want an additional body for those “4/5 group-need one more not a pug” nights.
I play necro and am good at survivability and bunkering if i need to. Pretty good at pulling from a group to thin the herd for natural selection too.
Experience comes from insane hours of pvp from GW2- what it can limitedly offer, and a bunch of other MMOs too. I value winning over glory farming, as such my rank is 15 and my wins are close to 80% of matches played.

Ill upload my video from my last recorded Nilfhel fight. Runs just fine, than half way through the match I get stuck on the loading screen for 3 min until I just give up and quit.
It happened to me once on RofC but it was at 47X score and stayed for about 3min than switched to TotSS with the game already underway.

Well, lets compare what you are going to do with that Elite spot that Plague Form frees up. In Spvp its only class skills so that leaves Flesh Golem and Lich Form. Both of which only really excell in a 1v1 or 2v1 environment.

So now you have to ask yourself… Am I a Duelist or a Team Player?

The Team obviously benefits from all the surrounding targets being crippled and blinded. Evenmore so when your plague form drops AND you bust down a well. Even more blinds. Especially if you trait for Blind adding Chill than yeah, why not Plague?

Being a solo Necro benefit more from the golem’s knockdown ability and additional dmg or the Lich Form’s skill set and HP than plague form.

So… like all skills in game… its situational. BTW you forgot the Golem’s knockdown on your little excel speadsheet there. It’s a huge ability that should’nt be forgotten.

I say we comandeer some servers in HotM for 1v1 and organize it through the forums until anet makes a legit server for it. We can update the thread on which server we are using for others to join the 1v1

No thanks. Ill keep ds as it is. Atk 1 stacks might for me. Atk2 brings me in well range and hydromancy range. Atk 3 pops fear. Atk 4 aoe hits everyone on the point in capping. I enjoy having 4 other skills i can lean on.

I predict a DEV says “its being worked on…” than patches PvE somemore.

This is just me letting Anet know I can’t play GW2 anymore.
Why? It’s just not fun.
With life being the way it is, I look forward to playing a game that takes my mind off of things. Makes me happy, and I can connect and share my experiences in a positive way and feel like I’ve accomplished something.
I failed in thinking that GW2 would do this. So it’s on to the next game.
Don’t get me wrong, this is a good game with lots of potential. It’s just disheartening when I feel like I’ve paid $60 for a post Beta… Beta test. That’s how it feels. The only drive to play comes from the promise of fixes in later patches. Patches come and go, adding new content that needs fixes. With SoS coming out next weekend and the bugs it’ll have (like the holloween event), the real problems will continue to fester.
I understand Anet is made up of normal people who want to enjoy their free time, families and personal stuff too, which is fine.
So Anet, Im done. Whatever money I spent on unlocking bag slots and bank slots and more was a loss for me I guess. This is just letting you know you’ve lost a dedicated player who spent more than the money on the code to play. And Im not the only one. There are more games coming out with better PvP features and Im going to test my luck with them. Maybe when the game is out of the Beta Testing phase people that are leaving like myself will come back, but its iffy at best.

Im available to join too if you need another. I play regularly and have been looking for a team/group to expand with. Its rough out there trying to get through tournaments Puggin it up and noone uses mics. I’m a pretty solid build, hardest thing for me is decerning which kitten mesmer to strike out of its clones lol.

Personally, I like DS for being able to:
1) Absorb that burst dmg coming at me
2) Cast Fear
3) Close the gap between me n my target.
4) waiting for consume conditions to come off CD.

I Spvp alot and those are my reasons. I drop is as often as possible to conserve Life Force. In PvE I’ll use to spam Life Transfer because it’ll also be set to heal during group events.

The Traits I use for it? If its PvE ill use the might buff for the blast and the AoE vulnerability. But thats because I play a power build.

I have fun with Dark Path. Using Spectral walk ill run away getting them to chase me, recall back, spam staff marks on them, than drak path onto them, switch to my dagger/dagger poping the hydromancy effect, while they are frozen, pop corruption well and smash for dmg. Right before they respond heavy, switch weapons, popping Hydromancy again, DS for Fear and spam more marks.

The only reason to use DS in Pvp is to pop fear or absorb dmg. Than drop DS to save it as fear recharges and use your normal skill set. You will not be able to gain LF as much as PvE or WvW. therefore you can only rely on things like Dark Path and Fear. Life Transfer will most likely get inturrupted if you are not full.
I’ve found DS to be most useful when opoing fear or needing Consume conds to finish CD.

All I have to say is….
This build is amazing. I ran it for a few hours and I came out as top player 80% of the time. I can’t think of how to explain this. I love necro alot, it’s really the only class I play here and I’ve been trying to find a worth while build. I’m using this one and I give all credit to the OP. thankyou for making PvP fun for necros again
