Greetings everyone,
We’ve all seen countless threads on the " I want better competition!" and “Help me I R Noob” subjects. Here’s a poke at something new…
Here’s a list of tips I’ve learned to stick with. Please feel free to share what you’ve learned works and doesn’t work in order to increase community awareness and overall better competition

Biggest one in my book;
Functioning as a team. This is where Rezzin’ n Stompin’ come into play. As well as communication. Nothing functions better than a group a gamers that communicate effectively during a fight and pull off the stomps/rezzes needed to secure a point.
This goes hand in hand with communication. I’ve run into the "I dont have vent/mumble/ts with others, as well as those who are just plain shy on a mic. Even more so, some people just dont know what to say.

How do we fix this problem?
Download one of those programs. I use vent as it seems like the majority of groups/guilds use it. But you’ll find larger Guilds that encompass other games run with TS3. Download a couple if you can. More the better. You’re already one step closer to winning when you have the whole group in a voice chat.
What does a Voice program do for you?
It allows the mid/back point to call inc, allows stomps/rezs to be coordinated, allows the party to know when the necro’s rez signet is on CD, or the Mes is dropping TW on mid…
It allows someone to call “stomping” so another knows to dps the downed or focus on another target.
It allows someone to call that they are about to drop, so they know who to rez immediately or which skill to ready for a quick fix.
It allows the team to know how many are engaging any given point at any time! For being a mid point bunker this is huge in my book. Even if you dont intend to support me while im engaged, let me know so i can start popping utilities I’d save for when You show up. If you call out how many you have at the back point or far point, I know I can pop certain skills without worrying about others joining the fray.

Next in my list is to at least play around with other classes. Even as a Bunker Guard or Condi Necro, I’ve ran on other classes to see what they’re weakness/strengths were. Even classes I hate. I did this because it was the easiest way to understand how to counteract them. I’m a better Guard because of it since I now know when to dodge certain attacks, like ele’s churning earth. Or since I know how long it takes a thief to engage after seeing him go stealth, i can better dodge his burst. Or throw up aegis to negate the initial hit. You learn so much by messing around with the other classes, you might even find a class that fits you better.

For Bunker Guardian tips….
1) Conditions are your worst enemy. Stacking runes of the soldier w/ Pure of Voice helps.
2) Shelter is by far your best heal. if you are caught by a surprise burst it will block the rest of it, and heal what you initially took.
3) Dodging is amazing. It negates all dmg for whatever hits you. Sigils of energy give more dodges and vigor procs from ur crits.
4) Youre not ment to be DPS, don’t overextend trying to kill a target. You are ment to waste your oppnents’ resources.
5) Test out Sword 2. Look where you can teleport on the different maps. Khylo is an obvious one, Temple has a few good ones as well.

Cruuk is my favorite thief. Everytime Im grouped with him he just hits their node n toys with them the whole map. He can play his build as easy as breathing air.

We can also take into account that we just passed Pay Day and the start of the weekend. For some its easier to play during week nights ‘cause noone does anything. While the weekends are nights to hang out n chill. I’m just one person and I know over a dozen people who put GW2 to the side during thur/fri nights for social activities.
I’ve been paired against r9s, r45s, The Magumbo Tribe (best fight ever), PZ, TP, Tpvp, Pro, and random new guys grouped just for the copper chest. I doubt there’s a matchmaking system. As a few have said already, there was no patch for it. Besides, Anet knows it can keep us around longer if they announce it rather than making us think its never coming.

Yeah if you dodge in renewed focus you lose the virtue reset. but like Nike said, why dodge when you are invuln?

I would love no CDs on weaponswap so my bunker can dodge forever

Fun for me:
– Get on Mumble/Vent/TS3
– Have at least two classes to play
– Play with a steady group/guild

Helping other players for fun:
– Dont quit mid or beginning match if Puggin Frees
– Rez immediately
– Support stomps with DPS or Stability/Immobilize
– GG

Consider me signed up.
I think Anet would be more inclined to remove this if we support a replacement.
Heres my pitch… replace with 5% chance to turn random condition into a boon on hit. 60sec cooldown. Goes with the boon focus the trait implies and adds to the necro condition theme of removal.

Gotta agree with the photoshop another pointed out. I zoom in on 81 and it looks like the 8 has a little extra on the lower right end that used to be something else and the ( ) on the 80 dont line up right to what my screen shows for lower lvls. Looks pretty shady. Can you vid feed this instead of screenshotting?

That video was pretty funny. All they did was use low lvl skills and drag the fight out for the video. Im sure it could have been faster than the 23 seconds it took to drop the target if half the atkers skills werent on cooldown. Although i think the dancing should have been in sinc with party rock anthym. Why did krew bounce from bp? Thought u guys were one of the top guilds over there

Doesnt it ask you if you’d like to make that purchase before you buy with tokens?

This is driving me nuts. I don’t mind the dungeon being hard, but when you are downed due to outside control, it gets frustrating and meaningless.

Try P3 today please, seriously couldnt kill Lupi cause he kept reseting during combat. Not sure if its just a once in a while bug, but it was happening.

Ran into a huge problem with Path 3 just now. About 3-4 min into the Lupi fight, he resets. Did it 4 times in a row. First time he did it, I was pulling him, than he just ran to his start point, sat down n healed. reset the encounter. We fought him again and again, kept reseting. Anyone have any luck finishing P3 since the patch? anyone have this happen to them? *NOTE I was not far enough away from him for a reset like this. It was in the middle of combat.

I agree with Fynd here.
I was having the same issue thinking it was bugged than I noticed to was because of impact to origin placement.
Testing it with a buddy it has a 180 degree targeting limit. you can use your yoon’s shoulder/arm as a reference. If he’s right at it or behind it on a straight line, you’ll probably fizzle.

Personally, I think Sylvari add a more sinister view of necromancy because they are plant people that can raise undead minions. House Plants as necros are pretty cool. But the Labrats have to be at least tied for first. Pvp though it doesnt matter as no racial traits are available, but Sylvari do have use of their seed turrets and root.

Hey everyone, I want to appologize toeveryone on the following list for the last date set up for the tourney not going through because of admin issues. The rescheduled time is for 08 DEC 2012 ALL DAY. to participate, send me a PM on or before 07 DEC 2012 @ 11pm EST. Any ideas, tips on rules, ect.. can be posted here and ill respond as fast as i can. Complaints, please PM them. I will be funding the first few tourney’s in an effort to get them off the ground.
Even if you are not interested in competing, this is a great way to meet other people to practice with and join Spvp/Tpvp games instead of getting Pug stomped. We’ve all been there and done that before

Ive had the Charge take too long to go off as well. Sometimes it just wont and Im expecting it to. 2-3 secs of waiting for a charge and it doesnt happen can mean a match in an intense pvp game. Especially when charge is used to set up a grasp/well combo. Its not lag most fo the time, I think they either intended that or its bugged. Its a constant 2-3 sec pause for me. So much so that I’ve had to incorporate that pause into my atk scheme

Mixed tier 2 n 3 cultural gear with the TA Staff. was running D/D but i think im switching to D/WH now.

I don’t like the trebuchet because it just sits there, on its high perch.
It’s watching us from up there with wooden beady eyes and a smirk grin as if it knows we fear and loathe it.
It knows some poor innocent little fool will stand there, operating its lever, tossing its debris into the masses below. It knows this poor fool will stay to defend it. Even if a team of vicious killers is pushed up that inclining path to crush the Trebuchet.
This is what the Trebuchet wants! Its demonic nature has been hidden in the throes and woes of battle and death, but my fellow PVPers… I am here to enlighten you! The Trebuchet survives by feeding on our blood! Like some evil tree grown by Satan himself!
It lures unsuspecting victims with its false promise of victory. Yet it does not toss that debris to aid your team! no! it tosses it as a beacon, a call out to the enemy proclaiming yet another sacrifice is ready! And it relishes in the blood spilt at its foundation. It would drool if it could.
It knows it will die to these murderous packs looking for a kill. But that is not its concern. The Trebuchet knows it lives forever.
It knows far accross the land of Khylo, another will look up, and feel unprotected, alone and scared as it no longer sees the image of its savior standing boldly over the ramparts and pungy sticked cliff. He will want to feel that security again. He will do what he must for it… make the Pilgrimage of the Repair Kit. He will throw hiw life and limb to get that trebuchet back. And once again, The Trebuchet will be born… on the blood caked ground of its former operators… its former victims. But that pilgrim who brought to life again this machine of death, does not know he will be there forever now, soon to join his fellow lost soldiers in the soil below.

As of right now running the tournament with the rules submitted by Aragiel.6132 seems to be the best bet. These are tested and work within his tourneys and can be a basis for which we modify and grow any additional rules we might wish to have in the future. Thanks again Aragiel.6132 for the help

1) All stacking sigils are out of dueling
2) no elites
3) duel ends by successful finishing of opponent
4) duel limit is set to 3 minutes. If for some reason noone died – then an additional 2 min of fight w/ no healing skill allowed!. This pretty much make sure some builds can´t survive. as you simply need from time to time your healskill and regen is not enough.

The EU server tourney might need to be held at a seperate time incase it conflicts with the members participating. I deffinately do not want anyone to feel excluded or miss out.

Yeah could double the health of the door, have 2 or 3 (IMO) Archers above the gate and then have some people inside (before Lord) as well. It needs to take MINUTES not seconds to kill the Lord

It needs to be a TEAM kill, not just say “Hey Thief go kill Lord” and have him be able to kill it with ease. It needs to be either an all out win or lose situation and as at the moment 4 people can still fight for bases and let 1 person go get the kill and thats just wrong. It need EVERYONE doing it

I saw this last night. Just respawned. saw thief run in, stealth and drop Lord in seconds. No careful plan besides camping can stop that

Hey Zeke,
I have a few things you might like to try on your Permachill build. I run a similar spec and I’ll throw you my skills to see what you think.
First, the Trait that allows health siphon on crit… your crit is only 4%. Is there a better one you can use? Personally I go into Tough for the increased marks and staff skill CD reduction. Since i switch weapons for chill everytime the CD is up I want my marks up and ready.
That being said, I think sigil of hydromancy on both main hands is a better choice because it garrentees you a chill. That 30% chance on crit is off of a 4% crit chance. So thats 1/3 after 1/25 is applied. Too low.
I like the chill pull skill alot, I was running it but i couldnt get the hang of it. Im going to go back and try it out. Thanks for that one.
Your elite makes youy a huge target in Spvp. I know it depends on playstyle, but I switch between Golem for knockdown and cripple or Plague form for 20sec spamming blind. The latter really helps with nodeholding.
I am trying to find my niche with spectral walk or flesh wurm. I love the teleport feature both have. One gives you a minion, another gives speed and LF. What do you think?

Its understandable that people have random schedules. As being military, I suffer from randomly getting called back into Company, Field time and all the craziness inbetween. I want as many people to participate as possible, tOss is looking into times which can benefit the majority so hopefully we can work something out If one tourney is out of your scope, the next one will deffinately be geared towards including those that had to miss out.

I wouldnt mind if someone made a Guild for everyone to link up in, but Im afraid my Commitment to XoO will make me unable to run it. But If anyone does create one, please send me an invite, I cant rep but I can still see the ingame player list

Im not saying that they are all bad, Ive seen some good players out there that have Rofl stomped me. There will always be someone better.

There are a few people here I still need their Server region. I’ll try n contact everyone in game, but if any of you get on before you hear from he, just post yur region so I can update into two full lists, otherwise there will be 3. Us/Eu/unknown

like Chaos.5893 said, 2v1 is simple. If you utilize your dodges, strafing and disables than you can outlast those that do not understand this. Here’s what you do…
1) memorize you CDs on your weapons so you dont switch into empty atks.
2) Your dodge negates dmg AND gives you a few more secs needed for CDs to end
3) Pay attention to your disables and how many you have + how long they last.
*ie… If my necro dazes you, than hits DS for fear, than pops staff fear (aoe) right before first fear ends, than switch to dagger for Immob’ing you… How long did I just keep you off that point I was capping? hint…Its mine now:)
2v1 is better because you can test your skills in what you’ll really find in Tpvp. Dodging one so you can take care of the other. Knowing when to use your higher dps on the target and the disables on the other guy. If youre on the recieving end, use your dodge first because you’ll have it again after you cycle through your disables, giving you more time and better control.
You can do all this even with little knowledge in enemy classes. But if you fight them long enough to know how long a thief takes getting to you once he stealths, or what the distance is a warrior needs to initiate his dps… youre better off.

Unless tOss can run Eu as well we’ll need someone to step up in the Eu servers to organize and help run things from over there because GW2 atm does not allow for Cross region Pvp yet. Or, like I do, Make a TS channel for Tpvp and give out the info as soon as you get in so they can set it up. If you like the group you were in, Add them to party, get the TS up, and keep queing. Makes it easier than seeing a bunch of numbers and wondering if a guy was spamming chat with his skills cause he wasnt paying attention.
