Oh, I also forgot my asian-cyborg-golem warrior.

I prefer your warrior over most of the other characters posted here.

Is she super pretty? No. But she actually looks like a capable warrior and her scars and flaws actually give her character.

Your character looks realistic and believable, unlike all those 16-years-old skinny teenagers with incredibly skimpy outfits that the other people are posting here.

Well, most of the human faces are doll-like, anyway.

As I posted above, I have some skimpy skins, but most of my skins are not really revealing: I mostly use the first one, and the second, and I have other not revealing outfits as well. I personally try to make the skimpy ones "logical’ toward my character, rather than just making skimpy skins to have skimpy skins.

(I didn’t take your message personnally, of course, just wanted to give my point of view about this.)

Locked Cultural armors aren't logical

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: EroticAndHeretic.7398

EroticAndHeretic.7398

Hello! I’d like to make a thread about something that bugs me a bit for a long time: Lock cultural armors.

Being locked isn’t logical anymore, from a game / content point of view.
It’s incoherent within the cities, within the races, with the dungeons and with the gemstore.

1) Cities vendors
Let’s take for example humans. They will sell armors only to humans because they don’t want to take risks with other races.
Not far from them, it’s perfectly okay to sell to a charr a Seraph Greatsword. It’s obviously less dangerous to sell weapons than armors.
Other example are the asuran. A leather armor is more complex than a Peacemaker’s rifle.

2) Dungeon Armors (and races)
Enemies and ancestors are more tolerant than the cities vendors.
Ascalonian ghosts have armors for Charrs and Asuras, everyone can wear the nightmare’s court plant armors, the Flame Legion have armors made for humans…
Even the kodans have armors for everyone. None of these dungeons armors should, from a lore point of view, exist for everyone. But they do for the gameplay point of view (and it’s fine).

3) Gemstore
While a sylvari can’t buy Norn armors, it’s perfectly fine to be able to wear Braham’s armor.
And why would a charr or an Asura wear the Balthazar armor, or Grenth’s hood?

Conclusion
So far, everyone can wear almost everything from other cultures: Charrs can wear Nightmare’s Court armor, a Sylvari can run around with Seraph weapons, Asuran can worship human gods, norns can run around in Krytian armor and Humans can wear the Flame Legion armor.
Only the cultural vendors are the only close-minded vendors.

Gaining access to other cultural armors would improve the diversity of skins. The only problem would be making female versions of the Asura and Charr armors. But I do believe that everything can work well on other races. The medium Nightmare’s court mask and gloves aren’t that different to the Light T3 Sylvari armor, for example.

Also… Toymaker Tixx is already wearing the T1 Light Human leggings, as well as the T1 shoulders (not sure about this one). All of these with an Asuran helmet.

I think that “summery” armors that fit the armor class can be done.

For example, my dream would be to see an open longcoat without sleeves, and nothing under, for medium armors. (there’s a picture by Kekai Kotaki that is kinda what I want! It’s not a GW related picture, but still).

As stated by Mr Monopoly Man, heavy armors lacks shorts, and light armor is… Well… Light. So it’s easy to do summer armors for them.

About the new kit skins… I don’t mind at all how the engineers hold the bomb kit, but the skin…

Same goes for grenades. I don’t mind holding several grenades, but make it look like the grenades thrown, or simply like the skill image. (I admit that it’s not clear on the images posted previously)

Race: All
Gender: Female
Class: All
Outfit: Wintersday Outfit
Problem: Texture, Dye channels

Hello!
Since the change with outfits, the Wintersday costume have a dye channel problem. What used to be the legging piece is inconsistent with the rest of the outfit.

In my screenshot, orange is the “fur color”. It’s on the glove, upper part, hat, and shoes.
Black is the main color, and blue is the second main color.
But on the lower part of the dress, the “fur color” suddenly becomes the “sock” color, while blue become the fur!

It doesn’t allow harmonious coloring, and this is starting to driving me a bit mad, as this outfit was reallt great.
I hope that this issue is easy to fix! It’s just a matter of channels.

I see mentions of Homura Akemi’s shield, but wat about Kurumi Tokisaki from Date a Live?
Manipulating time is her thing and her weapons are a pistol and a musket. And she even have clones from other timelines!
But enough with animes and manga.

If mesmer can use a pistol offhand, I don’t see why they couldn’t use a mainhand pistol or a rifle. They aren’t all left handed, and it means that they can aim. They can even aim with a greatsword!
The main problem I have with the shield is that it’s yet another off hand weapon. There’s already only 4 main hand weapons, and the necromancer at least get the greatsword. We don’t know yet the thief weapon, but this leave mesmer behind so far.
Obviously, I don’t count Elementalists as they automatically have 4 sets of weapons skills, and engineers because they have kits (which technically make them the characters with the most main hand weapons. If we can call the med kit a “weapon”).

Mesmers with a shield looks original, but magicians with firearms seems even more original to me. They already are using pistols, so why not pushing the concept further? Even the phantasm can dual wield the pistol!

Welding Torch disappointment

The logic behind thinking of a welding torch being a pistol is… baffling and illogical.

Brun Ingotspitter wield it like a pistol. It’s felt obvious this was going to be a pistol.

Also, I’m pretty sure that this weapon skin was data mined as a pistol.

And there’s special weapons as well… Because the Moonshine is obviously a mace. Or simply the ley line pistol. A rock that can shoot darts and glue. Or the Dredge pistol, that looks like a tuning fork.

Hi everyone

I’d like to share my disappointment about the Welding Torch weapon that is… A torch. Although it seems obvious considering it’s name, I think that every pistol engineer are disappointed by this weapon. I was really looking forward this, as it would have been perfect for a left hand pistol, considering there’s a Blowtorch skill.

It was first seen wielded by Brun Ingotspitter. This charr looks like an engineer. He even wield it like a pistol!

So… Why? Because it spit fire? Because it’s not “pistol” enough?

Error on female Wintersday outfit's dyes.

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: EroticAndHeretic.7398

EroticAndHeretic.7398

Hello,

I noticed an issue with Wintersday outfit dyes for female character. For the leg part of the dress, the third and fourth channels are reversed, and this doesn’t allow players to make coherent dyes.

For exemple, if I want to make the fur white, I have to put a white dye on the third channel. But:

Picture 1: If I put white on the third channel only, the fur on the leg doesn’t change, but the socks does.
Picture 2: If I want to make the fur on the leg part white and the socks black, I have to make the top white and the rest of the fur black.
Picture 3: If I want all fur to be white, I have to dye other part in white too.

I think this issue is due to how this outfit was handled before the outfit update. If I recall well, the channels were already reversed compared to the rest of the outfit (but this wasn’t an issue, as every part were dyeable separately).

So I’d like to request a fix about this. It’s actually my favorite outfit, but I refrain from using it because I simply can’t have something harmonious anymore.

After the fix, it should look like in picture 4.

Thanks for reading.

Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

EroticAndHeretic.7398

I may have posted already here, but… I’ll simply complain again here.

Theses tonics are clearly one of the worst idea since the launch of the game. Even if it was trivial, I had fun farming for those clothes because it was good looking, and mixing them was good.

People got creative with those town clothes. But with those tonics, I will never be able to be cute and celebrate a quaggan marriage again.
I won’t be able to be kitten and be a “broom biker”.
And I miss my ear muffs with my wintersday dress.
I can’t even look like a beggar anymore!
(see pictures below)

My biggest loss is indeed the biker look. 3 unique pieces + 2 outfits for this.

The tonics, plus the outfits as a whole killed the point of having various town clothes. It was ok to see, for example, the Bloody Prince outfit as a whole piece, but I really enjoyed mixing pieces of the Cook’s outfit, for example.
Now, without the earmuffs, I feel like something is missing on my engineer.

Still talking about outfits, them being one piece leaves us less customisation too. Especially on the wintersday outfit, where one of the color channel is incorrect on what was the bottom part! You can’t even get coherent dyes on it anymore without ruining something else, like the socks. At least for females. I simply want to have a red ribbon without being force to dye the rest in red too.

Bring back a system where we can mix town clothes. Bring back outfits as several pieces. And bring back all those head accessories to the town clothing.

EroticAndHeretic.7398

I also have to tell my dissapointement about town clothes.

First of all, the good thing: having the ability to use them in battle is a great idea. I love to see my engineer with her Wintersday outfit, ready to burn people with her flamethrower ALso, the ability to put glasses with our normal armor is quite neat.

Now, the bad points. I’m pretty sure these have already been covered, but I’ll say it anyways.

-1) Tonics.
Just… How? Why? Why can’t I wear my shorts with my normal town clothes? The dissapearance of all unique piece as stuff is really a bad thing.

-Outfits.
The main problem with outfits is the dye system. On the wintersday outfit, I used to put different dyes on different parts. Now, I can’t, and if I want to put some white somewhere, it also put this dye somewhere else, and… it’s becomes quite ugly.

-2) No more mixs.
I used to wear a short, hooded top, executioner boots, cook gloves and aviator sunglasses. Now I feel REALLY limited. Between outfits, tonics and headgear as armor, customization has been greatly limited.

We made a step forward, but also one backward. All thoses pieces existed before. What we need is the actual wardrobe system, but the old town clothes system.

We need the ability to switch between armor and town clothes, but also the ability to make our own outfits.

I really hope this will be changed back!

Lore questions: norn transformation

Hello everyone! I have questions about the norn transformations. I want to do some roleplay as a young norn, and there’s a few points I need to know:

- Does their transformation is tied with the age of the character?
-Is it tied with a spirit that “appeared” to the character, or can they transform at will into any spirit?
-Can the norns transform into other spirits than Bear, Raven, Wolf and Leopard?

I’m quite sure this will be more a debate than a Q&A, but that’s what I need to know

Giving racials armor would improve skin diversity, even for those who just show their wealth. And I also think of people who does roleplay. Exemple: Scarlet is a sylvari, but studied in an asura college. I guess she lived a bit of time there, so she probably bought and wore asuran clothes.

Or: Why can’t I buy ascalonian armor with charr tokens? That’s so kitten unfair!

It’s a dungeon armor, but ascalonians hated charr. They are from human culture. Hence, Ascalonian armor are tied to human culture.
If they were dug, it means it comes from the ascalonian/charr war era. Do you really think ascalonians would make armor for their enemies? Some problem of logic, lore wise.

And I’m wondering if people even think charr or asuran armor would even look ‘ok’ on humans or slyvari, or vice versa. Asuran armor being too small, and charr armor having tail slots. Humans, sylvari or asuran don’t have tails… and wouldn’t even look right.

What I’m getting at is cultural armor should not be a one size fits all.

Then why Charr can wear ascalonian armor? Since when Ascalonian would make armors for their enemy?

Same goes for the Citadel of Flame armor, who has human armors.

Completely Disagree!

It’s a CULTURAL armor – not the usual anybody can have it stuff. Removing this would take a “special feature” away and make the races even more interchangeable and less unique.

Indeed, CULTURAL armor. Specific to a CULTURE, not a race.

The feature is special alright, special as in
“Hey your son is talking to a stone!”
“Yea sorry, he’s a bit special”

Indeed, the armor represent the culture.

Otherwise defending the racial exclusivity is like saying: “I’m french? I can’t wear this yukata, it’s japanese culture”. (I do understand that people defend the uniqueness, although I don’t agree)

Similar to my roleplay, imagine someone roleplaying a human being adopted by norns. As he has grown at Hoelbrak, he have a norn culture. Yet his only possibility to wear a norn armor is the svanir one.

I know those kinds of roleplay are quite rare, but still.
We can wear the look of our ennemies whatever race they are but not of our allies.

Same goes for female wear Sons of Svanir armor somehow.

I personnaly don’t think armor is really a part of race uniqueness. A human can wear a Twilight Arbor armor, so how does that make sylvari really unique, for exemple? Everyone can wear leaves, but only one kind.

I agree the fact I want cultural armor for everyone is very personnal: my character is young norn, so as young norns have human bodies, I play a “human”. AND the T2 medium skirt is really cool.

Another example: why human cultural weapons seller are ok to sell weapons to everyone (let’s say charrs, as humans and charr are enemies) yet, the human armor sellers says “I can’t sell to you. Can’t be too careful who you associate with this days”.

I know videogames have sometimes different logic, but how does selling a greatsword or a rifle is “safer” than selling clothing? (according to humans vendor, of course)

Hello!

Now that Arenanet proved they can stretch the light human cultural armor 3 for a charr body, I wonder why Cultural armor are still race bound.

A lot of dungeon armors are related to a race or an enemy group: Sons of Svanir, Flame legion…
So why an asura can wear a Citadel of Flame armor, or a human female can wear a Svanir armor? How does the enemy is more tolerant about others races , yet the “good side” can’t let other races wear their armors?
Even the nightmare court armor is available for everyone.

So please, Arenanet. Make every cultural armor available for every races. I don’t really think races need armors to feel unique.

The skin I use the most is my “young adventurer” look. Once again, some aetherblade stuff here (second and third screen) with the boots and the skirt, but it’s good looking with the krytan top.

I also use a white lab coat, as I play with elixirs (fourth screen)

And last screen, I also wanted my character to be a young norn instead of a human (as young norn have human adult like proportions), so I tried to have a nornish stuff, without having access to the norn cultural armor, and I also didn’t wanted to use the HoW armor.

About the weapons, I almost use the vigils guns as they are quite bulky, the priory guns on my last armor, and I’m going to get the aetherblade guns for my first armor.

Also, cultural weapons aren’t race bound.

The problem is that Kekai Kotaki leaved Arenanet in june 2012. But I really love the design!

Engi kits could use skin sets.

Well, I thought of that after seeing the new permanent finisher tab in the Hero menu. So I guess a new tab for “skill skins” would do the trick!

I think a system like the permanent finishers could work for every classes. I thought of that after seeing the warrior banners (and the engineer kits of course). We could have charr, asura, sylvari skins. Even aetherblade or Mad King skins for exemple.

The problem is to define what to change for the other classes. I can see the ranger’s spirits changing and the thief summons changing armor, but I hardly see how the other classes could benefit from this. Especially the necromancer and the elementalist.

Adding missing armor pieces in PVE

Hello everyone.

First of all, I search for a similar topic but didn’t managed to find one. As I’m pretty sure there’s already some topics about this, sorry for the inconvenience.

So, as a lot of you may know, there’s some armor pieces missing in PvE (especially the “tribal” armor, replacing totally the masquerade armor in PvP).

For exemple, medium armors miss some parts of the commando set (leggings of the first attached picture), wich parts are only available in the personal storyline, wich give to a character only one chance to get those parts.

Another exemple, the Stalwart armor, only the coat is obtainable in personal storyline, despite the fact that the rest of the armor contain original armor pieces compared to other medium armors. The stalwart armor also refer to the PvP Rubric light armor, once again only the coat is accessible.

So here is some solutions, according to me.

- Make these armors craftable: There’s some NPC wearing parts of the Stalwart medium armor or the tribal armor in PvE, so I guess it’s quite easy to add these to the PvE crafting system.
-Add these armors to the vendors at Southsun Cove: Thinking of the PvP tribal armor, Southsun Cove would be the perfect spot.

I’m sure some other solutions exist, but it didn’t crossed my mind yet.

Thank you already for reading my post!
