How come every time I bring up PvDoor, people get mad, ITS TRUE! I promise you there were little to no defenders. How is that fun?

Maybe it’s not fun but it’s certainly not DBs fault that they have coverage when BP and DH don’t.

It’s a 24 hour game and if your server doesn’t have coverage at all times it doesn’t deserve to move any higher. It only gets worse up there.

I think many people are still missing the point of the breakout event.

It was never intended that you could “own” a borderland and push the enemy out. Each team was meant to have an advantage in their borderland, but every borderland was important because each one had an orb. No one could afford to leave a borderland alone, because that meant you were forfeiting an orb.

The meta changed when the orbs where removed. Suddenly, it made more sense to just concentrate on home because you have an advantage there. Everyone became focused on locking out the enemy, and holding the home BL. You only had to worry about two zones, your BL, and EB. Generally, you would only attack someone’s BL to force them to commit more troops to defend it.

This was an unintended result of the removal of orbs. Breakout events are meant to fix this. There is always supposed to be a battle (spawn camping does not count) in every map, so they made it easier to get started.

Does this make it harder to defend your home borderland? Yes, it is supposed to. Instead of focusing on cleansing the enemy completely off your home map, go to their map and divide their forces. The meta-game was changed intentionally. The old meta-game is not supposed to work anymore. That is the point.

Is there any way we can get just this post stickied so people will quit bringing this topic up. Very good explanation in this post.

Woke up this morning and for the first time in weeks DB did not hold a significant point lead. I mean DB was not earning more points per tick at that time. The BP overall lead actually went up overnight NA.

Congrats to BP.. Server is on the rise. This week has been a humbling experience but I’ll be out there fighting as much as I can.

Firmly in support of this. Getting people to spread to all 4 maps makes things more interesting and promotes more battles. Great addition.

Breakout events have nothing to do with high and low tier server populations.

Have you been in WvW past 11pm PST and seen their numbers compared to ours?

Yes DB does have a PvD time, its when American players are asleep, their server is not a US Server it is carried by its Asian presence, we all know it. You can be a nice guy if you want but I tell it like it is.

If it wasnt for them, DB would be lucky to get past 50k the whole week.

Yes DH does have a PvD time, its when Asian players are asleep, their server is not a Foreign Server it is carried by its NA presence, we all know it. You can be a nice guy if you want but I tell it like it is.

The point is that WvW is a 24 hour game. DH is stronger at one time than DB is and DB is stronger for a longer period of time. It makes DB a stronger overall server and that is causing the win in points. You need to quit raging on DBs nightime/early morning presence because you have the same advantages every evening. What makes your primetime any better than DB’s?

Already in the process of transferring our guild over. Having some issues finding a time DB isn’t “Full” but we’ve managed to maybe get a total of 20 over within a day during odd times. We’ll probably be doing really small groups and having fun, then expecting the majority of our 2 guilds to be over here by Reset on Friday giving us 40ish a night to work with.

It makes total sense for NSP and DH to attack DB during the NA Primetime. The night presence just necessitates it.

I agree with fellyn here. Put yourself in their shoes on the other servers. They both know that DB is going to take everything during the night. The only chance they have to win the week is make sure DB gets as few points as possible during the day.

I don’t think there really is a viable strategy for NSP to win the week against these servers the way they are currently comprised. But using this strategy has kept them competitive at least without letting either DH or DB run away with it.

It really just sounds like you guys are using portals way more than intended. Try running around and doing some events and looting some items. I know that’s not what you want to hear but that’s what it sounds like to me.

I use bleeds.. lots and lots of bleeds. If you go double daggers then the 3 ability is death blossum. I can’t imagine playing my thief without the ability. You can bleed all 6 mobs at once then throw down some caltrops and they are slowed. This gives you plenty of time to run away and heal/stealth and get some initiative back for another round of bleeds. By running in and bleeding everything then just running away you can kill most mobs without them doing anything to you.

I AoE farm on my thief all the time and it’s a blast. I hope this helps you.
