Yeah this was a pretty big letdown for me as well. I loved the look of the focus, spent the resources to get it today, and found that my light Hall of Monuments armor meant that the entire focus is hidden under the armor.
I wish they’d update the preview function to include a drawn weapon stance so I could avoid these clipping issues.

We are thankful for our new NA arrivals and combined with our solid Oceanic core, we should be able to start moving up at long last.
This is exactly why server transfers need to remain free. You have a very large Oceanic presence right? Well if lets say 100 oceanic WvW players (or 1 clan of 100 people) transferred to another server you’d actually get a fight right? Makes for a better match no? Then server rivalry will actually exist
We’ll get plenty of a fight once we start moving up. This week might be a bit boring, but that’s ok. We’ve already seen a shift in attitude towards quickly upgrading what we cap – which was our biggest weakness.
We haven’t stuck it out this long to bail now thanks. I don’t think anyone understands what it’s like over here. SoS Since BWE#1 baby.
I’m not asking you transfer, I’m saying that if ANET does something to convince some guilds or many players to transfer home worlds to better balance WvW match ups during all play times then it would be better for everyone. Whats going to happen to servers who only dominate/lose due to server time difference is a constant bounce back and forth for several weeks until you get pitted against each other. Depending on where they fall on the ranking, this could result in winning or losing for a long time simply due to number advantage/disadvantage. I don’t see how either scenario can be fun.
I really don’t think we’ll see many oceanic players spread out to other servers since WvW is only a small part of the overall game and having a dead and empty PvE zones is a rather dull experience.
Also have to throw in that Avatara that is just a stupid statement to make. Every server has had hackers in them stealing orbs, SoS is no exception in this. A few hackers doesn’t mean the entire server is condoning their actions.

What is killing me right now about the mystic forge isn’t that some of the nicer looking skins(to me) come from it, but that I have no idea what I should even be working towards to even get said weapon in the first place.
I’ve been waiting for news about how to craft the runic blade, which apparently is called Infinite Light this time around, but really have got no real firm grasp on what to even be attempting to gather. With cosmetic progression being a main driving point for post lvl 80 goals I was hoping to have a firmer goal instead of throw tons of expensive materials into the forge and hope to stumble on the right recipe.
At this point I’ve given up on the forge and will just make do with dungeon weapons until more of the set recipes are found out. If it turns out to be another RNG item I’ll be incredibly disappointed.
Whats killing me every patch so far has just been pushing me to join the ever growing legion of warriors. Everything I can do, warriors can do much better and not have a class mechanic that punishes them for playing outside of a set build that also works against many traits. Now with increased cooldowns and lack of weapon variety I’m getting incredibly bored with having to stand around auto-attacking everything because the mobs die so fast due to the damage from other players I’m lucky if my phantasm even gets its attack off in time.
Utter frustration is setting in since I’ve been looking forward to the mesmer’s return and now I have no clue what the devs are even trying to do with the class.

@ Lysico. How so and don’t give me the sPvP excuse because if that is the case then I think it’s time for them to spilt our skills between sPvP and PvE. Phantasms are already hurt enough in PvE with their single target nature. I was hoping at some point we’d see phantasms actually be able to use the retaliation and fury traits together, or would actually get some use out of phantasmal healing without the duelist.
Also would like to be able to use the trident 5 skill without it causing my bounce attacks to hurt me instead of granting boons.
GW2 has the most competition orriented PVE I have ever seen an an MMO.

I’ve noticed this as well although I find nothing fun about it at all. Playing as a mesmer tagging mobs is a nightmare once the group get too large, especially in the events where mobs are invincible until they run into the instant death AoE zone everyone is waiting for them at.
Now when someone is downed in a fight I question why I should help them since I’ll be giving up my already limited chance at gaining any loot to get them up. If too many people show up now to a event I usually just leave and find something else to do.
Well I guess I can get rid of phantasmal haste now for good since the constant spin was the only thing I was counting on it for. Most of the time a mob would melee or AoE it anyway before it would get through its first attack. Only would shine against pure ranged groups. Although now each patch I’m starting to care less and less about this profession.
I’ve noticed that every time I sink an enemy with Illusion of Drowning from the trident both my auto-attack and my clones’ attack will damage and apply confusion onto me instead of a buff when it bounces off of the sinking enemy.
Yeah this is one of the reasons WvW has lost a lot of its appeal to me. I enjoy holding out in a tower against greater numbers while waiting for reinforcements to arrive, but once a enemy group gets too large you can’t do much of anything against them. Once the AoEs start getting used the wall and defense becomes pointless since most AoEs seem to cover the entire section of wall giving you nowhere to stand or set up siege to counter their numbers. Doesn’t help that even trying to get a shot out will see you getting hit for 3-4k a hit.
Playing my mesmer I’ve started to hate seeing the zerg coming into participate in DE; I’ve given up on Straits of Devastation since it’s a huge zerg farming ground for the events.
Participating in a DE and only getting two pieces of loot which end up being just random junk and a white (even though I’m switching into full blown ARPG mode stacking as much magic find as possible) is maddening.
