I wish we could’ve talked with each other, it’s a shame ANet completely blocked that off.
one of the enemies sometimes stunned me or something similar, non-damaging (I retaliated with temporal curtain pulling and moa morph), but I couldn’t communicate to invite him to a friendly duel so we parted ways after the other guild wiped the floor with us a few times ;-)
I really don’t get why talking is forbidden. if someone insults you, you report them. but if you had a cool fight and want to say something nice you’re limited to a simple /bow .

Just a reminder if you didnt know before, you can invite enemy invaders to your party vith the /invite command or from the party window. That way you can talk to them and set up duels – presuming ofc. that they are not in a party already/decline you.

Outmanned buff

I think concerning outmanned buff… it’s not useful at all. What good will +20% Magic find, +33% Experience, +33% Karma do with the fact that the server is outmanned. What if Anet brought back orbs of power (5% boost to maximum HP and 50 bonus points to all stats for each orb) and just swap the effects?
That way we could get a meaningful buff for outmanned servers and a nice bonus stats for owning orbs of power (no balancing or hacking issues) available via the secondary, orb of power objective.

Finally, I have a last request. Currently, we are shown a crossed-sword icon on the map when a battle or skirmish is taking place. However, there are 2 problems with that icon:
- It does not tell me who is fighting whom
- It does not refresh fast enough (only once every 10 sec AFAIK)

I would personally prefer to see those sword disappear completely. Imho it would completely break up zerging an encourage much more coordination and map awareness on a server.

Uh, yes. If you’re hardcore enough to play THAT much, then you do deserve the titles. Do you seriously think that a title should require 1,000,000 kills to get? Hell no, not even the most hardcore of players would go for that!

Furthermore, I seriously doubt most WvWers, including me, even play to get the titles. We play in WvW to just have fun, and if titles were easier to get, I doubt that it would harm the numbers in WvW at all… Especially since the players going for the titles are in for more of a grind than getting even a legendary weapon.

I play WvW solely for fun as well but sometime along the line I would also like to see that I got a title in WvW.
All I’m trying to say is that with the current system I believe it is OK for a fairly high number (maybe not exactly 1m, but still pretty high). I’m not into achievements and titles at all but would be nice to have them to show off your progress in some aspect fo the game.
That’s exactly why I brought up GW1 title system where you had ranked titles. For example these could make someone easily achieve slayer(1) which would be like 5k kills, but the max tier (lets say tier 10) would still require 1.000.000 kills. Everyone is happy that way imo

Did anyone even play games before achievements? Seriously.

Sorry, didn’t mean it that way :P
I personally don’t care much about titles/achievements but I meant that in a context of titles. Sort of, if the number was low enough to get a title within a few months, after that you won’t have any other titles to earn, but ofc. one could still keep playing other aspects of the game.

Guild wars 2 has been out for what, more than half a year now? According to your theory some hardcore players should have the majority of titles already? What should they look forward to now when there are no more titles to get?

Though I would agree 100% with you if they added tiers to titles (similar to GW1). So you could get a low tier title relatively fast and max one with loads of time/effort spent.

It has been announced at release of the game that a server transfer will cost gems accordingly to the server population.
It has been delayed due to guesting system still not being implemented. Now that everything is in place, you can guest on other servers and play in PvE with your friends etc.
The only thing affected by this is WvW, however they had annouced a few weeks in advance that you should switch servers if you intend to do that.
Should have thought of moving before that happened don’t you think?

But yeah, you decide to go on forum and QQ about your inability to find a “good guild/community” prior to the transfer fees.
Oh btw, WoW server transfers cost even more afaik.

There will always be a side of players that will encourage EB-JP wars2 and not. Thus, there will always be an argument between these 2 sides.

My opinion is, JP is in the middle of a PvP zone, so it is OK for PvP to take place within the PvP (/insert Xzibit Yo Dawg meme). While it does get frustating to not be able to get your chest, this is all intended (they haven’t put those chokepoints and traps just to collect dust have they?). You are encouraged to form a party of players and to ‘siege’ JP and push them out of it. If you wish to easily get Badges of Honor without any marginal effort, do the BL JPs instead, which are usually less camped.

However, I am strongly against argumenting your statements with ‘they are needed for legendary weapon so I want to farm them like in PvE’. Sorry, not gonna happen. Instead of posting these threads (btw, there are loads of threads JUST like this one every week) and provoking the opposing side, instead try to find other solutions?
I believe I haven’t seen a single thread suggesting that Anet would add another stealth fountain near, let’s say’ the dark room. That would help alot of players wouldn’t it? Or maybe suggest less BoH being reuqired for the legendary?

Anyways, this is just my opinion on the matter, I by no means wish to provoke any argument with anyone.

There was no significant improvement for me and I am running on a reasonably high-end machine.
I voted for worse just because allies are now randomly disappearing, also the target marks disappears once the person being targeted appears again. Also, I have no clue how many allies and enemies are around me with this system.

I don’t know if DR has any affect on gathering materials but they did confirm that being in combat mode gives you a chance to get ruined ore/log. However, I have never seen or heard anyone with such high % of ruined logs/ore.

1) Stretch out keeps and towers etc. so the trebs are out of range if placed on towers/keeps and have to be placed down in the open.

2) Connect all 4 maps. Srsly, if system designers found a solution to connect all 4 maps into one with the same backend servers setup, so the transition is seamless, the whole point of open pvp would shine.

2.a) In case something like 2) is implemented, there is a problem with current maps that borders from BLs to EB would present a chokepoint, and it would be extremely hard for an outnumbered server to get ouf of that BL. Some serious thought or overhaul into breakout system should be made for that issue.

3) If not enough time to design a different layout of the maps, at least make it visually different (concerning repetitive borderlands design). Maps should follow a natural terrain pattern (from example, one bl is snowy/mountain-y, the other is more like beach/oceans, the other is green etc.

4) Keep all the JPs everywhere. This is WvW and if some PvE elements are not accessible due to zergs camping it, that is OK. The only people crying here are badge farmers who can’t get them easily. The population of EB JP is small enough to not impact the end result of a matchup.

5) Remove the downed state completely from maps, asap.
6) Break up zergs by removing orange swords from the map, add more variety of objectives/rewards for solo/small groups…

7) Drastically increase wall+gate HP. It would remove ninja-ing keeps (which shouldnt be called a seige), and would enforce long (epic) sieges, requiring tactics, draining keep supply etc. etc.

Everyone to Stonemist lower right now!! Man the arrow carts get your supplies to my ballista station as soon as possible. Enemy forces incoming, hide the mesmer. kitten it, culling is making rendering take forever. Ok we all got wiped, someone keep a timer on the waypoint.

Only a WvW player knows that “someone keep a timer on the waypoint” is not a correct translation of “gd pnt tick hold ppl.”.

A bad D/D ele will usually die within 10s again most of the classes. But once you master your skills and learn to fight properly you are able to kill almost anything.
Of course, unless that ‘anything’ uses immobilize on you. :P

Lootbags

I’m personally OK with the drops as you can easily merch everything when you die and respawn etc.
However I would vote for lootbag pick-up circle to get extended if that makes sense. I am tired of being unable to pick up my lootbag while running because you have to almost literally stand on it to be able to pick it up. Extending it wouldn’t hurt anyone

Had fun tonight although short lived due to an appearance of an excruciating queue that appeared as the night progressed took almost 30 mins to get back into EB.

Who ever the DD Ele is from Gandara that fought my mesmer for up to 10 mins in a duel outside one of the keeps in EB in the ruins below that was the best fight iv had in a while i was unable to make much of a scratch on you but i held out a fair while longer than i expected, if your reading this i return your salute well played

I agree, for me it was also one of the best fights I have had, was even a bit frustrating in between because you managed to block all my biggest attacks :P
Unfortunately, when I managed to get you downed another player rushed in and finished you just as I was preparing to let you revive and re-dual
/salute again to you, very nice fight!

Ben, EB Chest has, similar to Rich Orichalcum nodes, a 24h respawn time and is not reset at the normal daily reset. So if you are a minute too early, you will find it already opened.

The preview option was really nice to have regardless of a few clipping issues. It was nice to see the armor other people got/wore and could serve as an incentive to start playing other classes.
Or at least bring us the TP preview instead of that

Are you afraid of 1v1?

I believe that there are not as many solo players in WvW as you imagine. I would dare to say that majority of solo players you encounter are either running toward the zerg, running back to where they died, trying to regroup or simply wanting to mine some nodes. Sadly, a solo player cannot do much to turn the tide of the WvW, so most players don’t feel the incentive to just run around.
Also, the long runs back are a factor in this as players don’t want to run back all the way from spawn even though the map is quite small (opinion).

When I roam around in WvW and encounter an enemy player, I usually just try to start a communication via /<insert_emote_here>, it usually yields pretty interesting results. Or if I really want to 1v1, I just stand still so the enemy thinks I am AFK. Usually results in them attacking me trying to get some easy badges and I get my fight :P
