HoD vs JQ vs ET

Felix.2613

Yeah, all the exploitation is in the hands of a few small group of individuals, who are probably not from the larger reputable guilds. I don’t think we should put the blame on the servers as a whole, but rather this should be fixed on anet’s part. Hopefully they fix it or just remove the orbs altogether.

Good hit on the dreadfall bay, by both HoD and ET…. we had such a hard time keeping both sides of the walls up against multiple pushes on north and south side (it was funny seeing them run into each other on the bridge though).

I´m a new guy transferred from a EU server, and am really enjoying the fighting going on. Still trying to adjust both to invisible armies, getting focus fire much more often, and the loads of siege bombarding you.

But I was there on ET side as we were trebbing you. Curiosity drove me to the bridge where I saw two other trebs and realised HoD were doing the same. So I reported it on the map, I´m sure our commanders were already aware. I walked to their side and saw a HoD, well I just had to throw my greatsword at him didn´t I. Fight ensued I got him down more and more Hod showed up I decided to retreat. Suddenly I was caught on the bridge and was killed and saw the whole HoD zerg running over me as I had aggroed every single one on the map it seemed.

Uh-Oh I thought to myself.

Is GW2 as successful as you hoped?

Yes it is, because it could have turned out like a plain dud, like a whole string of former big launches.

And it´s not a dud, it has great MMO fun in it.

What can be disheartening, is then again, all the MMO issues that has transfered over with the customers. The hacks, bots, and the technical limitations of the WvW engine.

Now we have grown accustomed to, that companies like Blizzard don´t do what the community is unhappy with, and what often is exactly what is needed. Well not untill they can see customers actually leave (Diablo III, yeah you doubled it, maybe triple it).

I hope, Arenanet is spot on when they get around do adressing issues. I know it´s a slow moving process, but I hope they do it right.

Your thoughts about Orr

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Felix.2613

Felix.2613

I agree with the op, Orr is just a place I don’t care much for.

I think Arenanet missed a point about the genre. If you want players to stay for hours in your game ,then most of the time they need to be chilling and paying semi attention. And then challenges places should be hard.

By trying and make everything hard instead, people play 45 minutes untill they lose their concentration and then they just log off.

Feedback is tickle.

in Mesmer

Posted by: Felix.2613

Felix.2613

So much talk about the might of feedback. I have WvWed now myself from level 10 into 80 exotics, and I have gotten to know feedback well.

The thing about it is, the damage it does is make believe. Yes the numbers fly by when you put it on a gate, but nobody ever dies from it. I never seen a guy die after I put feedback on a zerg, white damage numbers flying by or not.

And used in open field, I have again and again put it on a ranged while fighting someone else. Cool move, he moves out of it, not because he takes damage, but in order to keep damaging. That is fine, you can skill it to confuse when he leaves so he keeps taking damage. That is also fine, he might say: Oh I am confused, I should be carefull or I will take damage.

But if he doesn’t do that, he will take abit of damage but never be in danger. And he will just continue as nothing happened, your interaction was basically only visual.

Because the guy in the feedback bubble is never a target, and so the feedback damage never ever fullfills a role on the battlefield, except if it works as make believe, the guy act because he thinks he needs to act.

I have speculated a few times by now, why not just drop feedback, it is nothing but a showoff skill, a visual luxury to your presence. And instead find room for a skill that will actually make you win a fight, kill a guy that’s trying to kill you. Like Pain Inverter for example. Something real.

What is the point of defensive siege weapons

in WvW

Posted by: Felix.2613

Felix.2613

I suspect he is trying to build arrowcarts as the siege itself is already going on. And seeing them being nuked before he can finish them.

Finished siege shoots back, and are relatively safe.

Legendary weapons, Mystic Clover and 2 million karma

in Crafting

Felix.2613

You say 50k Karma a day, grinding for 12 hours a day. For 40 days.

And then you let us know that Arenanet must’ve been crazy coming up with that.

Has it occured to you, that Arenanet didn’t envision anybody having this Legendary after 40 days, but expected it to show itself after 6-12 months?

The grind is a choice, and it’s your choice. So don’t complain to anybody else for your decision, which is a dumb decision. How serious can you take a silly game anyway.

Condition damage?

in Mesmer

Posted by: Felix.2613

Felix.2613

I see alot of Mesmers with Condition builds, and I am wondering. We don’t bleed all that much, and don’t poison or burn. So is condition Mesmers all about confusion only?

I am asking because I have been to the Temples, and all they got is precision toughness and condition. I would have preferred power instead of condition but maybe I am wrong?

I use sword and focus, and greatsword swicthing to staff when I am in parties. So I don’t feel I use much conditions besides when running with the staff.

So is the temples exotic armor with condition any good for mesmers and what kind of builds?

You can see here the difference:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/guild-wars-2-performance-benchmark,3268-7.html

AMD Llano Quad-Core: 37.5fps average
Pentium Sandy-Bridge Dual-Core: 52.9fps average

And those benchmarks overclocked the Llano to 3GHz, you’ll get much less at the default clock of 2.1GHz.

Yes if he plays on 1280×1024, sets everything to low and installs a 7970 lol!

You don’t know how to read a cpu testing benchmark dude.

I also answer his question, that’s the biggest quadcore he can get. The GPU won’t know the cpu is old btw, and I’m telling him that upgrading the cpu alone won’t do.

Try to read please, C´mon.

These people here playing salesmen are kitten scamartists or what? Get the decent mb not thekittensoundsystem, and buy a 7870 or a GTX660 (don’t need Ti) cause that is fine for 1920×1080.

If some guy spend 3000$ to buy a computer like the one guy here brags, I would never take his advice. Not in a million years.

Looks like someone have never done building PC before.

I’ve built from Budget to High end system and test with wide range of spec. I pretty much know by heart what wrong with the system or not.

Ye I have been building mine too for a good while, and build for friends also. Lapping dem cpus and all yo tough guy.

Grr head is starting to hurt lol

The setup you created for me before virtual (down below) this will work perfectly fine correct on max settings on GW2 (PVE and WvW) Bf3 you know the deal? and lets say i could spend the extra £100 on the motherboard and cooler stated above should I?

• Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Processor 6MB L3 Cache 5GT/s Bus Speed (Boxed)
• Gigabyte Z77-G1-SNIPER-M3 Motherboard
• 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 1600MHX DDR3
• MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 Graphics Card
• 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black 3.5" Hard Disk Drive
• Lian Li PC-K57B Black Lancool Series Midi Part-Mesh Gaming Chassis
• XFX Pro 650W Power Supply Unit

This is a topnotch computer. The ggggraphicscard is an expesive one, and you can as I said, get a GTX660 or a HD7870, and you will still be impressed with how well it plays.

People who have spend too much money, always want others to do the same mistake. That way it doesn’t feel so dumb.

The 670 is around £290-300, the 7870 is around £200-210, so you are spending 33% more, for more 33% performance… Ignoring the fact that the 7870 will become obsolete 33% faster!

Also ignoring that no modern decent graphicscard will go obsolete before it stops working.

According to this:

http://media.msi.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=35558
And http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Phenom_microprocessors#.22Agena.22_.28B2.2FB3.2C_65_nm.2C_Quad-core.29

You can buy this:

You will also want a modern graphicscard. Which one depends on how big your powersupply is, sad to say. New computer would be best as it becomes expensive just to upgrade.

Dungeon monotony.

Felix.2613

I think it was a very bad idea of you to tie a particular armor to a certain dungeon. By only getting the badges you need from one single dungeon, you are forcing players into doing the same one over and over again.

This will burn them out, of course. And they are already complaining, of course.

They can’t say, hey lets try another dungeon, because they then get a whole other currency they can’t use for anything.

You should have at least 3 dungeons in explore mode tied to an armor set, then you’d have 2 armor sets to chose from and it would be a better gameplay decision. You are trying to do too much with too little.

You made some bad calls for the MMO genre, and they are all starting to show. Great game, but you made mistakes. Fortunately not big ones, most of them can be corrected via patches.

Some issues I find frustrating

I don’t have these problems nor have I ever logged out in rage, However I do see this same topic in the same areas, I do agree it does need tuned down some, Whether or not the player is bad or good those players are somewhat a majority and need to be kept interested otherwise this will be a game where only a couple hundred player. Maybe a couple thousand none the less not enough to keep ArenaNet satisfied enough to waste more money into a game that is slowly dying….

You people who sit there and yell GTFO to players who have issues need to take you’re own advice and just quit if the only helpful information is “QQ it’s to hard than GTFO” Or the classic “Go back to WoW”.

None the less, Felix, I would take a break and come back at a later date, I am sure eventually they’ll change some of the Orr areas for the better. It just came out and they seem to be making progress unlike some other games.

I think that those saying I must suck… Thy rage too. Maybe next time they rage they can hear me laugh. Ironically.
Anyways Arenanet put out some numbers saying how proud they were that 30% who logged in queued up for WvW. They hope to see that number rise.

Well in a couple of weeks that might be 50%, then later 75%. Bet Arenanet won’t be boasting then, seeing their ratio number means they have made all the PvE players log of and they have no PVE players left.

Woohooo, 100% who log in play WvW, yeah, thats bad news dude.

Yep, it’s the griefing way of making an MMO last longer. But, it will just make people log off sooner.

Oh is that what it’s screaming?

Just one thing. I’m absolutely convinved that you can’t play a single session witout raging and swearing. Then you go on forums, clearly the rage contained, and lash out at someone random.

I server firsted in a raid guild through the whole of Burning Crusade, had the Gladiators title and whatever. I stayed in that game because…

But I don’t need this, you stay here and wallop in your own sorrows.

I dinged 80 and have of course no gold at all. I have been playing mostly in WvW which I enjoy. But the PvE side of things makess me shut it off.

Firstly, did level 72 personal story. It was in an underwater cave maze. Each time you died it said swim to the surface, which you couldn’t of course. Eventyally ended up getting lost. kitten that was annoying, took me forever to find a passage way up just below the surface tucked away in a corner.

Then wanted to get some skillpoints, stilll level 80 in 74 zone. Ran into an an event with a veteran and a dead player. Ressed him, we tried to fight but they respawned faster than we could kill them. We died, he gave up, I was taking a breather as someone else came by. He ressed me and aggroed mobs. Respawns started all around us and killed us both.

Ressed in town decided to go somewhere else, wanted to mine while swimming and as I am mining a champion shark shows up and oneshots me.

Ressed and ignored the ores. Landed on and island with a vista and a skillpoint. 4 or 5 of us running around can’t find the way up. It is on another island and it’s a jumping puzzle. The couple of us trying fall down, someone with speed makes the jump. I use speed and make the jump. More puzzles ahead and as I fall down again I instantly hit escape and shut down the game.

That was what, 2 hours of getting angry.

If they want to have people stay in their game, they should understand that for the most of the time, people in an MMO need to be chilling and paying semi attention, while reading chat and just relaxing. Or they won’t last for+3 hours.

When they take the basic running around and make it pure frustration, people stay for 45 minutes of concentration and anger, logs of and stay away for the game for much longer than they would have, if they had had a good time.

If you have been crafting a bunch of junk, than thats because the concept of discovery has gone over your head.

You should only be making discoveries to raise your skill level.
