I would also like to have a concrete answer for this. I just made a norn mesmer and decided on the masquerade gear for him via spvp locker. Bought it all and transmuted it but it obviously wasn’t what I was going for. I’m seeing a few posts suggesting it’s called tribal gear and been removed but no exact answers as of yet.

Just have everyone join naked and line up a bunch of bundles by the portals for people to pick up. Make it like general chaos(It was basically TF2) for Sega where you play a role, Pyro or Soldier etc. And if two people from opposing factions get too close to each other it automatically equips boxing gloves and puts a ring of warding around them that acts as non-interference from the outside. Nobody can leave the ring till one side dies.
Honestly thought I disagree with the the idea of wvw gear only. Half the reason I rarely play Spvp is because I can’t use my own gear. I definitely appreciate how spvp is setup, but I dislike not having an option for people like me to fight as is.

Spent 12-14 hours in CD’s borderland in that Omega today, was the most fun I’ve had on this game in awhile. Finally logged off with the golem at 769 hp left after that Garrison siege.
One thing of note is when I was getting nailed at the inner gate from all the people up on the balcony and I had to hide down the stairs a bit. The interesting part is that apparently the omega can hit people through the floorboards in that area. I could tell they weren’t quite sure what was hitting them too. They would look around a bit after healing up and then run back onto the balcony to aoe the people at the gate, which is when I would just start blasting em again.

That was a really fun fight at FA’s Askalonian Hills, except I got screwed. All that time spent waiting at spawn, leading to that 2 hour siege and as we’re capping I get hit by the sound glitch and it IMMEDIATELY crashes the game. At least I’m assuming we were capping. It looked like most of the FA holed up in the lords room were finally dead.
Ever since this last patch I been getting nailed by that sound glitch/crash over and over. Last time I saw it was the first few weeks of release. Well regardless, good fight both sides.

I have seen this time and time again and I would love for someone who agrees with this to logically explain it to me. To clarify using an example, about two hours ago I was in TC borderlands when a new player remarked the puzzle was being camped(I know he was new because he asked what badges were later after he finally got the chest), where he was immediately brandished as being a waste of space and that he SHOULD be helping out at DB/BV. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the commander then commented that you should never be doing the puzzle.
Here is where I am quite confused. I could see if the borderland had a que in it and we were getting pushed hard while needing as many bodies as possible to defend, but this was 5am with somewhere around a 0% chance of filling up. My argument is that if it has no que and little chance of obtaining one, then you really have no right to tell anyone what to do. Whether they are standing around at spawn dancing, killing Tequatl, burning through fractals, or ERP’n as a human with a char in LA, it’s all their time and they get to do with it what they decide.
To simplify, if there is no que then they have the right to do the puzzle if they wish. Whether they are in borderlands or in LA they are no different from a node of iron ore until the moment they decide to assist in WvW or the borderlands fills up and they literally become a block for people who are trying to join for WvW.

I don’t like PvP, but the legendaries need 500 Badges of Honor, I just see part of the pain as part of the gain.
Friendly tip: The WvW jumping puzzle yields 3-6 badges and you can do it once a day on each character. The badges are account bound so you can just pool them all together. Just stick to doing the puzzle in our own zone and you normally won’t have to fight anyone.
It’s a chest so you might be able to get rares out of it too.

Am I the only one that can’t get Hard to Catch to work? Whether it be in spvp or in pve the kitten thing never procs.

I run a tanky spirit build with stacked condition dmg and it’s alot of fun. Sounds like what Leogolas is doing, except he’s probably much better at it than me lol. The torch does some pretty good damage I’m loving it so far. The spirits are just great all around when following you, a 35% chance for everyone around you to get protection/+10% dmg increase/deal a moderate amount of burning(I didn’t check yet to see if this is affected by my condition damage).
I try to stick in a group as much as possible since that’s the whole point of this build, not to mention a buffed spirit of nature is ridiculously useful in party fights. People keep asking me why I’m using the spirits and calling em useless, am I the only one who thinks they are quite nice to have? Especially that +10% dmg increase one if I’m around base damage dps. This is all for random pubs btw, I don’t do tournaments or set matches.
I’m having trouble deciding on a pet though, which one do you guys use? I planned on using the Moa that gives 13 seconds of protection but for some reason it only lasts 3 seconds. I don’t know if it’s a text error or the skill itself is glitched. So far I’m just sticking with the spider. I’m bad at keeping track of him so earlier I was stuck in combat with him nowhere in sight so I knew he was hitting something, and then he randomly appeared back on me with it saying he just got a kill(attachment). I thought it was funny and worth a save.

Said from a friend that has a guardian: “every 48 secs we were invincible war machines, even without mates around”. Sounds quite reasonable a nerf in that direction IMHO. So please stop complaining, none likes to be nerfed but if u’re OP then it’s called BALANCE
Really? Did your theoretical friend claim SY made him invincible and this justifies “BALANCE” in your world? Well I see no need to argue this so I’ll just bring this down to your level. My theoretical friend claims SY doesn’t make him invincible so there was no need for BALANCE.
Save Yourselves on the other hand wasn’t even used by most people for its intended purposes, to rip everything off your allies and use your own body as a vessel to tank/remove them.
The intended purpose you say? Gotta love that god complex. Anyone playing differently from your point of view clearly has it wrong.
The Shout was never used for the “intended” purpose. Guardian’s Shouts are defensive and are used for upping the survivability of the team, not for becoming an offensive powerhouse every minute.
Hey look another dev, sure is alot of them in this thread. I seriously love how you kids keep throwing around the word intended as if you created the class. Go on, explain to me why I was playing the class wrong and how YOU believe it should be played. After all, I’m only playing this game for your benefit.

I don’t mind having eles running around with heavy armor “looks.” But I certainly don’t like all rangers wearing the same look.
Well I’m sorry to say, but that’s too bad. There’s no way that this will bring any good, people will be confused when they see someone running in heavy armor and they’ll prepare for a fight with a warrior until they realise it’s actually an ele or something.
You could always mix and match what pieces you want at lvl80 to suit what you want and make you stand out anyway…
I should suffer because of the limitations of others? Also “There’s no way that this will bring any good”. Actually yes, it will. It will enhance the gaming experience for all those wishing it be implemented.

I honestly think the Necro is a fine class and I love mine, but there is one major problem I have. For some reason when I’m defending in WvW I don’t get the repel exp/karma at the end of the timer. It doesn’t matter how many people I hit with marks or how many people I kill, it always acts like I took NO part in the defense at all. But if I should at any point man a siege weapon and hit one person, then I get the exp/karma.
Has any other staff using Necros had this problem? It’s a major issue for me seeing as how I’m missing out on quite a bit of exp/karma.

Yeah this happens to me whenever I get into very large assaults/defenses. As Locke mentioned I’ve also had the PC freeze up if I tried to keep playing after it glitched.

Is it possible to have hotkeys assigned per hero instead of global? Every time I ask this in-game all I get back is “why”. I don’t know how to explain it and even if I could I doubt anyone who asks “why” would understand anyways.
But as things are now I have to change the hotkeys in settings almost every time I switch characters and it’s very irritating(a few have the same setup). Sometimes I forget and jump right into pvp using all the wrong skills.

Same thing started for me about 4 days ago. I honestly thought it was a virus so I ran avast in boot-up and malware in safe mode which took me all day but the lag was still there sadly.
Today it was completely fine from noon till about….hmm, 6pm? I had zero lag and did wvw most the day but then I took a break for about an hour and when I came back it was back to lag city. My skills taking 2 seconds to activate and mobs will just stop moving and then randomly appear somewhere else. I’m glad to know it wasn’t my pc but I hope this doesn’t continue for long.
