Ive lost some respect for NSP after they came into our sunny hill tower to try and get our trebs down WITHOUT sieging it down. I cant believe a tM was was joining, I dont know how they got in with or without hack it is not cool.
I ran into lot shadow traps including in 1vs1 situation which was the funniest. It is crazy effective vs stealth thief.
My opinion on this is that….we’ll this is dumbest thing next to the quiver back piece you put in the gem store. Some of us play this game and work for our ascended stuff. I hate fractals and love wvw but I put my difference aside and did fractals to get my quiver and rings. Now you are just giving way quivers in store and ascend stuff to wvw and pve. Let people work for there stuff and if you don’t like working for you stuff go play another game.
(not give way but make it easier)(it should be more like an achievement rather then everyone having it)

People are still on about thieves calling them op, after thieves get nerfed yeah yeah. Then people will complain about mesmers being op, they get nerfed yeah yeah seee where this is going? Elementalist next ect…play game…
I dont think anyone is double teaming anyone. If all 3 servers got into a battle each server will focus on the sever that is dropping the fastest. After the wiped server wp you guys are not seeing the 2 remaining servers fight because you wped. About GoM and DR double teaming. Firstly DR is being smart, as GoM is attacking and NSP forces are defending vs GoM they are simply taking advantage of it to cap points for their server while nsp is busy defending. Yes it my not be fair but it happens. Im all servers have ran into a point where they said “oh they are double teaming”. Anyone that is trying to double team I dont think will get their way because there are more good players wanting to play fair then to do double teaming ect.
it’s beyond my understanding why this game lacks such basic features as a stealth counter.
Of course every powerful game mechanism should either have a hard counter (e.g. see invisibility) or be made extremely scarce (e.g. possible only very rarely).
Arenanet designers seem to have two contradicting visions:
1. Thief should have the highest single target burst, mobility and ability to enter stealth on demand. According to Arenanet thief can decide when to disengage. Thus he sets the rules. As a counter to stealth Arenanet advertises AoE damage, yet some professions don’t have much any AoE (e.g. ranger) and at the same time Arenanet developers are vocally worried that AoE is too powerful and talk about nerfing it.
2. Guild Wars 2 should be esports with large thriving user base. This obviously assumes that the game should be very beginner friendly. Now imagine what the first experience of a solo roamer in WvWvW or someone entering spvp. Insta gibbed by an invisible enemy. Then during downed state stealth stomped. Soon this player will also reroll into a thief or will be afraid to move alone without equal levels of disengagement (mesmer comes close, thus it is also popular choice for solo roamers).
3. Game should have variety. Each profession should have at least 3 valid builds. WvWvW should be as appealing for small scale and roaming as for big zergs.To make things more funny we have an army of people telling “it is a learn to play issue”, even when many veteran players here admit “fighting against a thief in WvWvW is no fun” and even the lead designer Izzy told in the latest Anet video that a single thief can troll or even kill 5 players and still get away. Izzy told that thieves are not worth chasing. Well, what happens to a game when you take away the fun? It becomes a chore. Well, it is maybe fun for those playing a certain profession.
Many people write that if your character is too squishy it is your own fault that it dies to a thief. You see here claims that your health should be at least 22000 and armor at least 2600 or otherwise you are a glass cannon and deserve to be insta gibbed out of nowhere. Excuse me: if you are playing a low health profession or low armor profession those numbers are pretty high. And yet at the same time we have a lot of people who complain that bunkers are too strong. Why do you think people play the bunkers? To counter the burst. Even worse burst which can come all of sudden without any preparations possible, thus thougness and long-lasting boons like Aegis become sort only protection to give second more reaction time. If there wouldn’t be so much excessive burst, a lot less people would be running bunker builds as the balanced would be the best option. In Guild Wars 1 almost every good team was balanced. In Guild Wars 2, where the game balance is weaker, almost everybody plays either a glass cannon or a bunker.
Being constantly afraid of being killed out of nowhere disencourages people to run solo in WvWvW. Stealth, combined with so powerful sudden attack which can down you, is one the reasons why many WvWvW players like to move in large groups. To be less afraid. Thus the lack of counters to stealth and abundance of stealth affects things much deeper. It is one of the reasons for zerging. If you want to people to do more small scale roaming in WvWvW, you need to deal with stealth and I am afraid some traps are not gonna fix this issue.
Stealth is of course not related to thieves only. I know very well you can trigger stealth from smoke combo fields, mesmers also got stealth and engineers got random 4 sec stealth from toss Elixir S (60 s cooldown) and so on.
Ele=aoe bad for thief
Necr=aoe bad for thief
Guard=cc and block and burn bad for thief
War=100b and cc bad for thief
Rang=evades and bow can hit with in stealth(something like 100b with arrows)
Mes=burst, cones,confusion,shatter
Engeer=block,conustion,aoe,blind
Tell you truth all class have way countering a thief, depending on your play style and class you maybe cant do good vs thief but kick kitten vs another class…there is ways to kill thief even if its 1vs1 ive seen it and its not hard….
I my opinion thieves are fine as they are. They are a 1vs1 class and thats why they kick kitten When they are put under pressure my more then 1 foe its lot tougher and good thief will use cnd to wait for good time to attack. If thief is class that hits and run or they will die really fast. Thieves take lot dmg in the open. They are easy to kill without stealth (- evade troll build).
I think people don’t know that this is a game. Everyone’s taking this game so seriously. The drama keep it coming, I think people just can’t accept defeat (we are human). If you get killed by thief hes op, if you kill him he thinks your op. Way people think, in end i think that this game will be so nerfed it will become boring. I’ve ran into smart people that know how to counter a d/d thief.
Knowing other classes and experience will make you better player and hopeful in end you don’t complain but be like wow that fight was awesome but this what I could have done to win! I don’t like being defeated and here example, I went back to nsp group 3 times and 2 those times I died, I went back to win. Play game guys or just keep up the drama I can’t do anything about that.
I had some sweet duals with my tM and SPCA buddies, i cant wait to see you guys on the battle field. Love you tM for everything you’ve been teaching me you know who you are! Oh and thanks for badges for few you in DR (gom tM thief)

Firstly this arrow cart is behind door, and Secondly WTF RANGE and lastly it was dealing 1.3k damage per hit.
I think that Reveal should but set back to 3 sec in wvw/pvp/pve. Over the time of guild wars 2 launch many have figured out how to counter thieves and now thieves with my play style (dagger dagger) find that survivability has is lot lower because the 4 sec (all you need do is block evade ect cloak and dagger). People are like well noob adapted and go to dagger pistol, its not my play style. Anet I get your trying to meet everyones needs but just keep this in mind.

There were some fun fights last night, thanks for the bags for those you that I ganked. I had lot fun ganking KOH this morning. Funny that you call me noob and laugh at me when took 7 of you to shut me down after I down lot you =P
We had a rocking fight with an ASH group and earlier a rocking fight with BOSS. Thanks for the badges.

I think if people would settle down and stop trolling wvw is going to
be much more fun for everyone. There are lot glitches in gw2 and it is partly because
the game is new. I have seen all the severs use glitches so I am going to call it even. If servers start working with their players and put difference aside I bet you that we will not only get better as a sever but it will be a better community for everyone. Just because a guild tag say [PAXA],[RH],[TCMM] ect does not mean anything. They are gw2 players and everyone has a different game play and I would advice people to join the guild you best fit and work it out. Anyway I just wanted to put this out there, see you guys in wvw.
I didn’t know where else to ask, but I’ve heard that they are going to nerf cloak and dagger thief skill. As a dagger dagger thief this is really bad for me. I haven’t seen it on the updates but if someone can link me a source to read if they are nerfing it would be great. I think this will effect a lot of thieves in a negative way.

They are changing stealth so that you get the “revealed” debuff regardless of whether you attack from out of stealth or not. This means that you can no longer just chain stealths to stay perma-invis (on top of them hopefully getting rid of the culling issue)Whether it’s a nerf or not is up to players. Personally (as in my personal opinion here), when I’m on my thief I’m constantly moving and never chain my stealths together, since I always get revealed due to always attacking to make use of backstab. For thieves that liked to abuse stealth and troll groups of people by just chaining stealths, then yes, it’s a nerf.
If I missed anything about the changes please anyone feel free to add.
Ah ok, you covered it well. I’m not the type to troll zerg all the time (sometime =P). I’m mostly worried its going to make fighting Mesmers and Dagger Dagger Elementalist lot harder were I need to spam stealth but I guess I will just have to adapted and become a better Thief.
I’m sure that both will get toned down as well (coming from someone who mains both, even I know they could use some looking into) If anything think of the changes this way, by weakening the thieves “GTFO” card, they are free to buff them in other ways without making them too strong. That’s how I’ve been thinking about it, as I do have a d/d thief myself.
I don’t think anyone will stop uncomplaining about unfairness in classes but I hope that this will tone people down. I enjoy playing gw2 but when people are trolling and complaining about little things it just makes you not want to get on to hear that bull.
Of course this affects all thieves, especially the good ones. Chaining c&d was fairly powerful and important in certain situations.
For example, if target is low on hp, you are in stealth, you should chain c&d to down him. This would allow you to immeditately continue with stealth stomp.The thieves who think they aren’t at all affected by this either don’t want to admit it or they just never knew all about the tricks a thief has.
I"m not the best thief, but I agree it is going to suck for me and the build I’ve been using for a every long time. Now I will have to changed it up. I just wish that people would just play the game and stop kittening about thief’s not playing fair with there stealth. Basically if everyone starts kittening about classes the game will lose players and it won’t be as fun for some.
