What bugged for you in seer path?
In regards to the man talking about everyone entitled to feedback based on your 60 dollars spent, this is absolutely true. However, when your feedback is based on unrealistic expectation of time spent into reward, it becomes a problem with what you expect from this genre. This “everything should be for everyone” mentality is nice, but it is not realistic. You have multiple demographics of people you are trying to market a game to, and catering to far to one side will result in the other side committing a mass exodus from the game. Ideally there would be multiple tiers of dungeons and gear based on difficulty, but there is not at the moment. Revel in the fact that we no longer have to gather 40+ people on at the same time every night to progress through a game. If spending 50+ hours attaining the gear you want is not something that appeases you, craft it. They have given casual players an outlet to get the same quality gear as the dungeon token equipment. While I am not really thrilled with this, I understand its necessity to keeping a large player base.
Well I have now started my planning to take over the world. It is going to involve crushing an apparently very large portion of the population with their lack of problem solving capabilities. Watching as you all run in around circles shall be entertaining.
I have numerous tips I have posted on fight mechanics as well as quite a few private messages explaining things to people.
It was easy to break free of it in City of Heroes / Villians. But then agianst mobs didn’t just run up to you and hit you 3 times for a kill in that game either. they just swarmed you in mass.
For someone who plays alot of MMO’s you are negative as all hell. I don’t think I have seen a "this works for me " post from you yet. Just BLAH BLAH I CANT DO IT THEREFORE ITS BAD BLAH BLAH.
Every time you jump that wall a kitten dies. Go play some console games with cheat codes if you want this instance gratification. Otherwise, sack up, have some freaking pride, and learn how to clear an instance.
I finished it last night, after mannnnny attempts. It involved us fighting the last boss with only 4 people and leaving the NPC out of the fight so that she would not have to rez at the end of the encounter.
Being able to soak up damage leads to mobs staying in place. Mobs staying in place longer leads to dps not kiting, which in turn leads to mobs dieing faster. Mobs dieing faster leads to faster runs. Faster runs leads to everything you want faster. So for the people spec tankier and know how to use their abilities to keep mobs, we salute you.
Apparently the “for highly skilled and highly organized players” statement about dungeons is flying over a lot of peoples heads. For every person who says “I TRIED THIS WITH 4 RANDOMS THAT I PICKED UP OUTSIDE THE INSTANCE AND FAILED MISERABLY NERF NAO”, a kitten dies.
There definitely is a large number of fights that discourage melee.
The AOE has massive holes in them that spawn, sort of like donuts. The circle is deceiving but basically if its not the flame spike that spawns above you, it is going to be a ground spike with a massive hole that you can move into the center of and take no damage. Later on you run into him again, he is going to start summoning tentacle whips and putting people in crystals. Avoid the whips and have a ranged dps assigned to kill crystals, have another dps assigned to backup him killing crystals that are placed on him.
Urrelles it breaks down like this you either have had some realllllllllllly bad groups, or you are telling lies.
I just got it yesterday and it is everything. Storymode and every Explorable path.
When they drop the shard rate on the first two bosses to 1 and load the end after Giganticus with more shards, know that it was your fault and that I am a happier man.
I literally just posted yesterday how to do this fight. Do some research.
The gain is not equal to the risk because you all keep dieing. You should probably stop dieing. Here is my good deed for the day, all that vitality gear you spent alllll that time farming in CoF……it’s really bad. Vitality is a terrible stat, go replace it with toughness and marvel at your lack of dieing.
What he said, I love em. My only complaint is that there is not more, I finished them all =(.
I hear toughness is good.
There is way to many posts to read alllllll the way through this but here is what I see from a lot of people, “Well we die a lot and our repair costs > what we can get from the run GGNOFUN”. How many of you have cleared through every instance all the way up to CoF explore? You guys are jumping in towards the end of a learning curve and expecting to just breeze right through it. You should probably take a step back, get acquainted with the other some what less intensive dungeon mechanics on the lower end explorable dungeons then ease your way into the newly tuned CoF. All of these dungeons can be done without graveyard zerging, it just seems that no one wants to work up to it. P.S. Make friends with people you think you work well with, group with them and develop chemistry. Expecting every random person who is LFG CoF Speedruns to be someone who is going to better your chances at tuning your runs is crazy.
The spawn rate with crystals seems like it has something to do with the amount of damage being done to him/ his ground pound ranged attack. We had the same problems with crystals until we started to put melee in on him. We had 2 warrior 1 guardian and a messmer the first time and warrior guardian messmer thief on him the second time. Out of all of our strategies though having more than one person on crystals when he is 60> <30 resulted in his health bar never moving.
Ive completed it, not sure which part you are having trouble with though. Subject Alpha? The totem Golem? Typing up a strat for every path would take alot so just let me know what part you are having trouble with.
CoF 1 is doable, Ive cleared 2/3 times I went. CoF 3 however just will not complete and its driving me crazy!
Edit: SPOILER DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU WANT TO FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF.
Realized posting how to do this might help more than just saying it can be done. Try taking the people with condition damage off of damaging the crystals and sticking them on the boss he stops healing from 60%-30%. So really the fight is all about hard burn to 60% clean it up and take him down to 30% then hard burn to finish. If you fall behind on crystals and you haven’t hit 60% just reset it and go back at it again. How we do it is 1 ranger on crystals 4 on boss burn to 60% peel one or two off to clean up crystals go back to whittling away. At ~35% wait til everyone’s cool downs are up and you have him at a manageable crystal stack,(our grp can dps through up to 14 stacks before the regen starts to really show may differ based on your dps) then go back to 4 on the boss 1 on crystals until he is dead.

The incentive is the cool looking gear. Everyone seems to have this mindset that if there is cool looking equipment they should be able to obtain it with little to no effort/time invested. Well if that is how it was meant to be then the gear would in a sense lose its awesomeness because everyone has it. Somewhere along the lines (I blame WoW’s later expansions and massive surge into the mainstream) MMO’s became about providing equal rewards for in-equal amount of skill/effort. I don’t know how long many of you have been playing MMO’s but seeing someone in Legendary weapon/Amazing looking gear should have the effect of “Wow that guy worked really hard to get that equipment” instead of the all to common “Man that guy farmed those really easy runs alot”. Is it an inherent flaw in the game design? I think partly the developers can be to blame. Sadly, a lot of the reason they are to blame is because they are attempting to cater to a demographic of gamer that wants it all and wants it all for nothing.
As someone who full clears all paths of Arah explore, all I have to say to the people doing two bosses and resetting is, you are all bad at dungeons and you should feel bad. Is there something to be said for min/maxing? Sure there is, but don’t expect those of us who embrace challenges to say “Congratulations on your hard work to get that set” and console you when they nerf your grind to the ground. Also, in a month when you have nothing left to do, you will have no one to blame but yourself.
Well I figured with the recent patch and tweaks to CoF that this would be fixed and I would have a fancy new Dungeon Master title today, but it is still broken. So many frowns.
For clarification, after clearing the instance and finishing the last boss the chest will spawn. However the instance will not finish out, which is preventing me and others from finishing off the CoF explorable achievements. Anyway when you guys do get around to fixing stuff like this(and the door in Arah Jotun which you all ready fixed, if it was even broken we might have just been super unlucky with that one) you should try and make an effort to point out that issues like these remain or have been fixed as it would be helpful in the future.
