Brutaly i like your take on things with the Guardian, and its something i want to try out as im dead bored of mace/shield & GS. It just isnt doing anything for me anymore, i got no dps and my healing/boons are only as good as the players around me.

Anyway i cant for the sake me get your links to work (gw2skills), no matter what browser i use the site just wont load any icons. So i cant tell what build you recommend.

Im currently using 0/0/30/30/10.
Which is nice, i dont die much but it also take an eon to kill a simple Vet etc.

Should i change anything there, or just grab a hammer & start smashing things?.

This game could definitely benefit from some sort of dungeon group search, app type.

I spend a good 2 hours looking for a Sorrow’s Embrace story group, and when it finally happen we were all squishy (1 ele, 2 thiefs, 1 ranger, 1 mesmer). Was a complete disaster in repairs, but we completed it even tho it left us with a bitter taste.

Gave up after an hour searching for a HotW story group, along with Crucible of Eternity.

I thought it was interesting being second in command in a video game for a change, altho i would much have prefered anyone else then Trahearne. But thats personal taste really, he just didnt strike me as a leader.

The final part of our story in Arah i had mixed feelings on, it was just over so quickly and i hardly saw anything of Zhaitan (to busy with Risen spam). What i didnt like was that the “personal story” had another player do the talking in the cutscenes. Kinda annoyed me. ^^

Either way they should have ended the “personal story” after level 50 or 60 as it clearly wasnt soley about your character growth anymore. And perhaps have changed “personal” to something else. The Pact story, meh im not good with titles. xD

Dont want to call us “the worst for pve”, i mean the blind and daze interrupt iv been doing in dungeons have been pretty darn handy for the warriors/guardians who usually take a huge beating without it. Combind that with smoke screen, well its great!.

Boss’s fights, well your just as good as the next one. Nobody iv been in a party with melee a champion or dungeon boss at level 60+. Its kite kite for all, more or less.

As to leveling from 1 to 80, 1-29 was quite annoying if not frustrating at times. After 30 things got abit better with the thief elite skill.

Anyway i like my thief & im sorry nobody see the value they have in PvE. Its abit sad really.

I dont really have any issues with the dungeons per say except the boss battles, which none of em seem to be that melee “friendly”.

More often with the groups im running with everyone seem to just enter range mode and simple kite and evade the boss lesser and weak range fire. You attempt to melee you get destroyed alot faster. That kinda annoys me abit.

Dont know if its because of the defiant or simple fact that boss skills recharge so insanely fast that no melee is able to stay that close long enough. So its easier to just range attack em.

If you got your own resources to craft exotics then yeah ofcourse it’ll be cheaper for you, if not probably wont be. I tried crafting my first own exotic chest and it ended up costing me quite alot of gold as to the 3g 50s price it was set to at the time. Only had about half of the mats i needed, so yeah i wont be doing that again. xD

As to your thief build question, just look around there is alot of different builds. I personally like my S/P for both PvE and PvP, i run with 5/15/10/20/20 and stack Vit, Pre,Pow and Crit Dmg on my gear and trinkets. Blind/Daze in dungeons, keeps your party alive.

Someone will probably come along and tell you im doing it all wrong and you should only focus on maxing one or the other. I say to that /sigh. Go with what you feel utilize your play style the most!.

P.s iv yet to die in a dungeon. Dont forget to evade!.

Glog, there are two tabs, the first tab is the basic gear that all looks the same. The second tab, which should be the second coin on the side of the vendor window, shows the gear for the dungeon in question.

Probably abit of a newbie question but when i preview the armor sets at Lion Arch near the vigil HQ, all im seeing is the same version on all of em. Medium armor being pirate gear, the weapons show up in preview just not the armor.

Is this a bug?. =/

5/15/10/20/20 S/P & SB – Is what iv been running & never had a problem in PvE or PvP.

I stack Vit, Pre, Pow, Crit Dmg on my gear and trinkets.

Dont know why people are so focused on having to max one or the other. With this build i can be quite effective in dungeons without getting crushed in one hit and i basically crit most of the time so my initiative is never drained for long, which means i can keep blind/daze or whatever im doing going. Combind it with high crit dmg, well yummy!.

Either way there is plenty of ways to play your thief. :-)

Nope, nothing. Even with 80% magic find (if that matters). Couple of greens and some candy bags, thats about it.

Something like 7-8 green items 60+, the bag reward and some candy bags.

Curious tho, is it because im level 54 that im not getting any luck with the loot?.

I had to read that again, then again.. Then shaked my head with a big what the hell.

As i read that i felt like i was a pre-teen again where mom would tell me i couldnt watch this or that because it might scar me for life. But i watched it anyway and what you know, i didnt grow up to be a crazed looney.

Takatsu is not about being spoon fed everything. There are various ways to make something fun or harder without having to throw the lower levels into 30-40-50-60 zones.

If it had been an event that would go on for say the next 2-3 weeks, or just some random special event for the higher levels then yeah i would completely agree with you. But its not, its a holiday event, and it should be for everyone. It wont happen again untill a year from now, and whos to say we’ll be around for that.

Why is there even a level cap on a holiday event?. I mean its something everyone should be able to enjoy without having to have someone babysit you from zone to zone etc. Im level 47 and even i could hardly pass the final Act 2 clue. I dread to think where Act 3 will take us.

I dont even know where ill be in a year from now, so the “wait untill next year” is pretty fare out there.

Last clue in Act 2 is rather insane. Its placed in a ghostly pirate area filled with level 65+ mobs.

I went there with my level 47 thief and had zero chance, mobs would agro from a rather large distance (due to my level im guessing) and slap me 2-3 times and im down. Had to wait about 30 min befor two others showed up to do it. Not gonna lie, it was frustrating.

Whats next, Orr?. =/

Reapers Rumble does indeed seem bugged, altho i did it a couple of hours earlier where it worked. It now gives network error.

4th location is currently unavailable. Attend the Party is also unavailable. Keep in mind that there is still 2 acts to go. I’d assume we will get the 4th on 28th(act 3) and then attend the party on 31st(act 4).

Hehe, glad im not the only who was abit on the let down after spending 800 something gems on keys only to find the same junk as usual. :d

They could have atleast have mixed it up with candy being always in the chest etc, then maybe it would be worth it. Or not. Either way i certainly feel i wasted my money on thouse keys.

Anyone know if there anything that resemble Ash Legion medium armor?. I found some Ash Legion recipes but that was for tailoring. =/

Just wondering since my Charr is Ash, and the bandit mask is really yucking me out at this point. =/

I havnt had a chance to “complete” a map the last 20 levels (not kidding) due too these SP Challenges that have missing NPC’s.

Could we please get a server reboot or a hotfix for these on the server Gunnar’s Hold?. And other servers i can imagine. I dont know what causes these SP bugs, but its getting pretty darn annoying how often it happens.

Theres something bonkers with the view/draw distance.

I was doing a world event and players and monsters were disappearing then reappearing over and over all over the place. And its been happning alot lately, just seems like if there is more then 10 players on screen it just mess up.

I literally have to be within 5-10m if i want to see whats going on doing any sort of event. Iv set the LOD to max but it dosnt seem to do anything at all.
