The only surprise here is you were able to ride it for so long. Shows you how it’s near impossible to get stuff reported and dealt with. Good luck with your new guild name. I’m sure it’ll be serious and tasteful. ;-)
It is kinda crappy they didn’t bother implementing a rename mechanism and just delete things. It’s like they didn’t plan ahead…
Does anyone on JQ play for the fights? Or just to win? Serious question.
If the two are mutually exclusive to you then quit this game now. You’ll be happier. Most people I play with aim to have fun AND win. If the commanders you chase are too uptight to try crazy stuff for the lulz then find other people to run with. I can assure you the commanders I follow in WvW are the ones having fun and winning is a nice side effect. I pick my BL or EB based on who is commanding. I don’t get paid to follow boring commanders.
And if you’re looking for 1v1 why aren’t you playing sPvP? WvW is about larger scale fights, siege, etc. I’ve spent so much coin on arrow carts and balistas…
With the amount coverage JQ has, I’m sure that a 3rd place finish would cause some major internal drama!
JQ has been 3rd plenty of times, when it happens again as I am sure it will we will roll with it as we have always done and try to come back stronger. Nothing lasts forever.
Back in the dark days of long long ago JQ even made appearances in Tier 2! The horror! Then TW transfered off and we’ve been Tier 1 ever since. Oh wait… </troll>

Hi everyone. Had fun last night running with TIN on whatever map I was on (dunno, was hard to tell from the bottom of that bottle). Greatest guild ever. EVER.
Just one of many future new guilds we enticed over for a few days with our vast reserves of gold allocated for both recruiting new guilds and server jumpers. It’s the only way we can win.
Server 1: “We only lost because you guys cheated/we were troll.”
Server 2: “No, we won because we are stronger then you and obviously superior.”
Next week…
Server 2: “You guys cheated/we were trolled and that is the only way you won, you don’t deserve to win.”
Server 1: “No, we were just better and that is all there is to it.”
Can we tone down the hyperbole a tad? Yes someone using game mechanics to effectively denial of service attack a server’s side map wide is lame as kitten.
But BG fought hard this week and deserves it’s win. It’s not BG’s fault or the result of one malicious party that JQ is suffering from burnout and attrition. BG won it fair and square. So congrats BG!
Quite frankly while I’ll be playing to win I wouldn’t mind seeing T2 for a round or two. Seeing the same tags over and over again gets a tad boring.
So is that the real Choo guild tag or a copycat? I’m usually too frantically rolling my face over the keyboard to pay that close attention to exact guild names.
Also next time you take a screenshot please bring up the report window which shows the account name.
Your opinion aside. The good people i know that resides in JQ is one of the reasons I come back to fight regardless of score. And of course the ones on BG.

Every server has zergs as well as small groups doing their own thing. No one server is a beautiful and unique snowflake in that regard.
T1 thread was a lot less toxic without BG, yet they seem to think they are the poor innocents being bullied? =D
Kitten please, T1 threads always end up trainwrecks in the end. New servers bubble up to Tier 1, think they have a good chance to win, then figure out by Monday of week 2 that they only get close when JQ decides to coast. Then in week 2 the infighting starts because it’s always the fault of another server blah blah blah. Whaaaa… we tried stacking but it wasn’t enough against this other server that stacks… blah blah blah. Like clockwork.
All the problems with the queue right now is a bug u can take 1 min queue and a guy who queue at the same time as u will take a queue of 1 hour, this is just Anet not doing his job, alot of servers with the same problem.
I think the real problem here is that the game doesn’t bother to report the number of people in the queue in front of you and a time estimate. For all I know when I re-queued a bunch of people had just left and I would have gotten in the first time if I had waited one more minute.
IMHO, It’s impossible to derive if the queue is working without such data.
Don’t complain about queues if you are going to voluntarily stay on one of (if not the most) populated WvW servers in the game. No-one cares what server you started on, you choose to stay there.
Oh man… Thank you Mr. White Knight for coming to my assistance. I was all confused and obviously requesting that someone solve my problem for me. I couldn’t possibly have been intending to report the fact JQ has some great queues tonight. Nope.
I’m so happy people on the Internet are so willing to help me out with my little problems. It makes life worth living.
Transfer off of JQ if you want lower or no queues. SoS was number 1 for over two months and it rarely had queues (certainly not hour long ones) on week nights. You might not be able to win the week (and all the glory and rewards that come with it – lol) but you will actually be able to play during the week.
When a signature states a particular person has been on a server since Beta that usually implies they have roots and no interest in changing. Furthermore these queues were not here two weeks ago.
In conclusion, kitten off.

It’s terrible. No decent, skilled player has the money or (if they do) would buy this for 100 gold. As a result, we only have unskilled and clueless commanders.
It sounds like you need to move to a server with a stronger WvW community. I’d say in your case the commander pins only being used by idiots is a symptom of a bigger problem on your server.
This is why most JQ’s commanders have a good following and are respected by the community. PuG’s will always be a factor in WvW. how you choose to treat them and interact with them can mean the difference between winning and losing. Many people are willing to learn, our commanders are willing to teach.
100% correct. As someone in a small guild I’m effectively a PuGer and I have a short list of commanders I follow because I know I’ll have fun following them. (Also rule of thumb: StrikeForce is fun to follow when they are drunk and/or kitten off even if us PuGs can’t hear them on TS so props to their commanders.)
Don’t misread what I’m saying as crying or anything, I just don’t think that your marathon comparison is a very good one to what actually happens in WvW.

Fellow JQers, it’s time to toss in the towel. We simply can’t compete with the negativity and victim status of other Tier 1 servers. We’ve become weak and have insufficient snark coverage during much of the day. We’re getting owned on the forums. We’re no longer the strong JQQers that we were in the days of HoD. /me sheds a single tear

Apparently all three servers have gotten together and signed a treaty covering SoS BL that states:
No fewer than 30 representatives from each of the three servers must be present before a keep, tower, or supply camp can be properly contested. No 1v1 is permitted.
The flip side is that it’s easy enough to lock out a waypoint without any serious attempt to capture the keep. You could conceivably lock out the waypoint for the entire night.
I dunno. But I’ve been leveling an engineer in WvW by hiding behind and flamethrowering/grenading everything that moves. Seems like a good gig.
I think the thief sentiment runs the lines of they are not very noticeable unless they are running small gank groups. You are definitely going to notice that elle spam in a zerg by comparison.
Oh noes. That dastardly JQ and their smelly euro coverage have foiled our plans! How can we live with ourselves by settling for still being a tier 1 server for the foreseeable future. By not winning we’ll have to face them again… and again… and again… Oh wait.
Signed, PuG on the server who has been Tier 1 so long and facing off against the same servers for so long it doesn’t matter if we come in first or not. Next week would be the same as this week if it wasn’t for the reset.

Perhaps I’m more commenting on the fact the current prediction is a perfect mirror of what is already Tier 1 and not necessarily a comment on MOS? Or how absurd this rank reset really is?
base from my personal opinion, JQ fights harder than SoS but don’t have the proper coverage. So i’ll say you need to grab that spot from SoS. They do not deserve it.
Say… You wouldn’t happen to be trying to pivot to a forum 2v1 would you? That would be totally unfair. Carry on.
Less than 2,000 points between first and second place and a spread of less than 10,000 points between all three servers on a Monday and SoR is already trash talking.
The current legendaries are the most lazy and cynical way to add these weapons to the game.
Lazy because it’s easy for the devs to have it just be an RNG drop. Cynical because it potentially encourages people to dump hundreds of dollars down the gem->gold hole.
Everquest 2 had a far better system in the Epic Weapon quest lines. It gave a sense of achievement and story.
Legendaries are nothing more than gold farming and RNG luck. Not worth the time and not up to the standards ArenaNet have set for themselves in their own PR.
I’m sad to see games from the last decade beating GW2 on this. (That and the LFG system from the early 1990s needs to be fixed. Kthxbye.)
Please give us the option to trust NO networks. I strongly prefer entering the code every time.
The idea of random wireless networks such as Starbucks being automatically trusted or being on an ISP with multiple non-contiguous DHCP IPv4 ranges in my area makes me wonder if I should disable the authenticator as it’s only giving an illusion of security.
