thief runs on initiative.
while the initial burst would be higher then any other job (especially when might stacked by others), thief is lacking on a prolonged fight in dungeons.
unlike wvw, that you can drop someone in 2 seconds with burst, dungeon mobs have tons of health..
doing every utility that burns initiatives go against sustained dps!
and while the thief are stealthing, he actually dump all agro on his other teammates!, thus the survive till the end thief. its fine if the group is organized and heavily supported / tanked, but with pugs, dropping agro on an unskilled teammates could mean wipe!
and this is where the “ressing” part shines.. cause the thief that is cleaned from all agro is the only ones standing alive!
thief would be good on a skilled organized teams! not so much on pugs dungeon runs where skills varies across the group.

no. i don’t see a point in taking a thief for dungeon runs other than a fill in to an empty slot..
don’t think ill ever pick a thief over a warrior for dungeons.
most of the attacks are avoidable, yes, but not all of em are.
(those multiple homing projectiles) in this case, thiefs will go down much faster than a warrior when hit.
while they both dish good mele dmg, warrior share boons to the whole group, and have the benefit to stay at mele range longer due to its high health and defense pool.
while weakness can be applied from thief, but a axe/mace warrior can also apply weakness + vulnerability + self sustained might and fury! bring 2 of em and you can have sustained weakness without having to bring thiefs..
bring more with a shout + heals and elite banners, than you practically have a res on a button and can heal constantly + give 5 stacks of might to the whole group during the whole duration!
they gives much more group benefit than a thief ever will..
you could say that a skilled thief can stay alive forever, dodging everything that comes around, but an equally skilled player of any class could do the same, while giving more support to the group as whole
PS: a mesmer can do the stealth part to help skip mobs as good as a thief can. and do more pluses to the group with their utility,

they didn’t even rotate the dailies!!!
the gathering and events dailies stays.
i hope i don’t have to gather / do events to finish dailies just for once in a while…
gathering is , go from point a to b to c to d to e ..
event is, go through the map, kill weak mobs in a circled area, repeat. ..

dont think DE and story mix in this game..
those few lines that comes out of npcs.. i found it… really really really really uninteresting and would be better off to skip them all together!!
I really love storytelling in a game.!

Warriors are wanted because they have max base health and armor(why? No one knows) on top of some seriously insane(why hasn’t this been balanced yet?) DPS before you even account for gear/spec. I run into people saying we need a guardian or warrior all the time in fractals and it simply isn’t true. Don’t get me wrong, they can certainly make things a heck of a lot easier(especially guardians with reflect and Aegis) but they aren’t really needed.

The main thing you want in a party member is that they aren’t idiots. I will take a competent squishy over a no-brain cell warrior/guardian any day of the week. All the health/armor/block in the world can’t save someone that has no idea how to utilize their skills correctly.

Sure, let’s give the warriors 10 k hp and light armor.

any minus should be balanced by a plus. give em 10k health + a light armor + double their current damage! gonna be so much more balanced that way. ;D

the bigger they are, the bigger their weapon and skill are. good for big aoe range and show off legendaries..
the smaller they are, the harder for enemy to spot / klik them. heck, you can kite enemies in a tall grass.. with a fast movements they wont target you even without stealth.
the drawbacks are the ’lacking" of the other side of the coins capability.

stories and legends in all of the viable quest on all part of the game.
to obtain special weapons , titles, special effects, or even gear.

some T/V armor becomes more usefull now that we cant wp zerg in dungeons..
well.. not all people are good at playing this game, and it helps em to survive on the count that you use them in parts.
people using MF gear are just selfish.. regardless of skill .etc.
its not the idea that he/she is unskilled enough to do well in MF gear, but the unwillingness to provide more in a group content such as dungeons are just selfish.!

Forums are filled with complains about anet’s own legendary and how their effects are.
I know some are happy with their legendary weapon, but many of the casuals just wouldn’t bother with it. since its kinda expensive and grindy to get one.

IF anet suddenly assign you to make their new legendary, what weapon will it be?
how are the effects around it? how will your dream legendary weapon looks like?
ones that will make even a casual player want soo bad that he/she starts to do the optional grind!
let me go first..

name : the cursed
type : one hand sword
skin : a long ornamented black steeled curved katana
effect : have a combination between a green flame, green lightning and skulled souls whenever it waves. makes armor burnt with green flames and have whirl of green lightning as footsteps.
reason : I love samurai stories that has a cursed blade that killed the maker and cursed every samurai who wield it while sucking souls of the ones that is slayed by it. + green lantern. ^^

from what i gather..
people just wants ease 5 minutes content that can be spam to get new gear..
and ones that can be burnt out for just 1 day of playing..
they like to be powerful but doesn’t like the effort and time it takes to be one.
people don’t want other people be “above” them. jealousy and elitism.
can’t stand having none but the BEST gear for all of their 10 characters.
if anet follow in their demands, i doubt “save spotted” people will stay in the game and spam “bored” all over the forums.. in just about a weak after patch release.. which they work long and hard for..

Slots 1-5, I'm seriously baffled.

with the large number of skills, people will make an ultimate built that other must follow and get punished if they don’t. why? because they’re sooo “synergic” soo good, that most of the seemingly useless skills are just a waste, and some will judge those who used skills they want “noob” and refuse to take em to groups..
bottom line… i like it gw2 way.
but an increase in usable skills wouldnt hurt

tier progression and the variety of ways of obtaining it are good for the game!
keep people from beeing whiny bored all the time!
and the difference arent even all that apperent that you could get oneshotted by a same lvl char. unlike some other MMO.
in this game, you can have skill to compensate your lack of gear, while slowly and surely progressing it!
they even get the ultra expensive legendaries stat down to exotic forgodsake!
repair canister, revive orb and etc2 are just consumable that you can live without!
while at other MMO, you get a +6 item, that have a chance to be destroyed if you go +7. you have cash shop item to make it save, but it still can fail and downgrade the lvl of item… now people use their cash like MAD and the ALL armor ALL weapon +13 can basically slay those poor people with +7 gear! oneshot!! dont even mention the ways companies always use ways to cut you from grinding by giving more and more rewards to cash users.. even when you love the game sooo much, the sheer difference in strength, the unfairness and all others just force your poor little self to eventually QUIT THE GAME!! you cant even enjoy pvp anymore, you kill mobs soo slow that you get nothing in return vs the cash spammer!
GW2 actually conserve balance and give slight stat change for reward to those hard core gamers. its a good game . you can have “fun” with doing what you like, even WITH cheap or free gear from dungeon NPC.

in other free to play MMO, you got a clear vertical progression.
you got lvl cap raised that render all current cap gear useless.
you got a very expensive cash shop items that boost enhancement rate..
you got lots of gold opening cash shop boxes..
some of the other MMO even stop you from grinding. you can only get much from eternal grinding, where all the good stuff comes from cash shop.
you litteraly cant be half descent without spending atleast a couple hundred dollars. and nomatter how much you love the game, how much you grind for, if you’re poor, you will always have underpowered char that gets oneshotted by those that spend thousands of dollars to the game.
compare to them, GW2 feels like HEAVEN! and ascended rings arent even randomly HARD TO GET!
its just some of you guys are a little late on fotm fract progression and give in to your pride and cursing the dungeon. where the dungeon arent so bad,,
some keep saying that in guild wars2 you got nothing to do at endgame..
so why refuse ascended.? those rings actually help me build my alts. cause of the easiness to obtain and their stats are good. so that i dont have to buy those overpriced trinkets at the TH. you can grind your exotic gear through dungeon, and trinket grind are just fine!
don’t want to buy over flipped over priced trinkets at the TH? you can do FOTM!
why not do the dungeon little by little instead of whining that gw2 has nothing to do and refuse to do FOTM! youre bored but you refuse to do new content of the game?
the refusal and whine of vertical progression in this game are just stupid.

the fact is. confusions arent bleed or even burn!
you could have a mob aiming and chasing you, and what?
you gonna stand there getting hit so that your confusion can tick the so called tiny little damage? as tough as a mesmer is, its still a light clothed mid healthed scholar!
and as mentioned above.. the clone death gives “random condition” means that you can give a vulnarability, cripple, freeze and weakness. and the 3-5 second confusions that will have a chance to do zero dmg!
now cripple actually goes against a confusion mesmer, cause the slower it moves, the lower your chances of your confusion ticks! and most of other short durationed random conditions are just a zero at dmg department.
condition mesmer are subpar!

I guess you guys just dnt know how to play ot then. I kill things as fast as my condi thief, when he was specced for conditions.

Great idea…lets all have the same burst build and be uniform. Even if condi builds are behind burst, its not that far behind where you should never play it.

then have you ever play a condition mesmer?
were not thiefs.. we cant apply 25 stack of bleed through a short period of bursts and half of our weapon skills are summons. and our attack dont apply conditions except for the random everslowly staff, the lousy scepter, and the torch.
illusion dont inherit condition duration and can only apply a handfull of short durationed bleed through sharpen images.! and if you’re counting on confusions… just read most of the above.
i personally think mesmer are the no.2 worst condition applyer ingame besides guardians.

mesmer are sub par at conditions! atleast in pve..
mesmer cant apply bleed by themself, and have to relies on illusions.
and illusion dont inherit condition duration stats!. so.. cant maintain bleed for long,
as for confusions.. they’re horrible at pve. you can stack upto 20 stacks for 6 seconds or so, and the mob just runs around not hitting anything,.. while it may be good at pvp and wvw due to skill spam, i think confusion arent worth the trouble for pve.
other conditions are randomly generated by staff skill.. which isn’t exactly dependable.
so if youre ever gonna go condition route.. dont do it on a mesmer… other profesion’s are much more reliable!

people dont actually care about other classes they dont main!
when they go to wvw/pvp and they are beeing slaughtered, they come to forum and whine about them, hoping that class would get nerved.
and when its not their class thats got nerved, they celebrate!
when someone post a vid about their class and shows how good it is, they complain about how bad the other player is so they dont have a chance to be nerved themself.
they play other class they dont main at the mist for 20 minutes and say things on the forum like they’ve been playing that class for 500hour.
they like convinience and view other classes as enemies that they will encaunter sooner or later. and whine 24/7 bout them in hoping to make their next encaunter with them lots easier because of nerf.
they talk bout how balanced their class is dispite the advantage they have above other classes.
they dont give a **** about the hard time some classes/builds have at PVE.
….
its a battle out here…

give TW 7 second charge so it can be interupted and goes to its 210 sec CD afterwards.
nerf stealth mechanic and give easier mechanic on breaking stealth.
remove cripple from iberserker
give distort mechanic a revamp so the mess will recieve 30% dmg instead of phasing through
shorten the range of phantasm summon (that has already been affacted by LOS)
longer charge rate of phantasm attack. and longer CD for its summon.
remove toughness from illusions.

1. give line of sight and miss for phantasm summon (nerf)
2. bug that kittened GS 4. and bug that make illusion have delay1-2 sec before attack.(bug)
3. fix bug and give cd for illusion 1st attack (-0.25S nerf) and buff SS to 3 might.
4. put back SS to 1 might and give shatter CD (-0,25S nerf).
….
is it just me or it seems like every patch gives us permanent nerf!! maybe with some icing that feels like a fix in disguise..
…..
cant wait till january update where maybe.. all the nerf comes out all at once with some temporary buff that will be canceled within 1 or 2 next updates
