Hey all. Pretty much my first post on the warrior forums since I tend to do my own thing without caring about the existing meta. I’d still like to see what other people think of my post-patch build and maybe see what others are doing that might be similar. Bear in mind this is a PVE build since I’m not much of a PVPer.
*Note: The Defense 20 major trait is Cleansing Ire.
Here’s the build. The basic gist of it is to engage a fight with Axe/Shield and fill up on adrenaline. Once that’s done I swap to Longbow and use my burst, giving me a fire field which I then use to combo with Longbow #3 and my Stomp ability, throwing my enemies back and giving me an immediate six stacks of Might. After that, I projectile finish with Longbow #4 and #5, swap back to Axe/Shield and use Shield Bash to give myself a fire shield via leap finisher. If SB is on cooldown I’ll generally have enough adrenaline to do a quick Eviscerate which fulfills the same purpose. Rinse and repeat, with Axe #1/#2 thrown in to gain adrenaline back up.
I’m still level 70 so I haven’t tested the build out in dungeons yet but it’s an extremely fun and active build that has proven to be quite different compared to my playstyle pre-patch. Like many people, I sat on my adrenaline for the nifty bonuses it gave, but I’m finding the burst potential of my new build to be much more engaging.
Anyone have any thoughts on the build, or feel like sharing their own burst-centric builds?

Efut is overrated.
The resemblance is uncanny.
Awesome, was wondering what I had missed on my zone 3 run last night.
Didn’t you make a thread about this earlier?
EDIT: Nevermind, it was someone else.
You need Moto’s Breath from Zone 3.
There will be another April update with new content and Living Story stuff later in the month.
This is my PVE Toolkit build. I run Fractals 10+ with it and can generally tank most things with a healthy combination of Gear Shield, Static Shield, and dodging. I also do decent damage thanks to 30% crit rate and 40% crit damage, allowing me to sustain damage on targets even if squishier allies go down.
I haven’t acquired the ascended backpack or accessories yet but the stat layout is identical, save for exotics instead of ascended gear. This build has served me well for a while now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Getting all the lone baubles in the zones is primarily for getting the achievements and the bragging rights they bring. Everyone can enjoy the skins, but not everyone will have those titles.
No, it’s actually a problem with the Super Shield skin clipping while equipped.
Distinction in Applied Jumping is the title reward.
No, I linked to my thread there.
Either way, this thread is ridiculous.
Sorry, too busy being awesome in Fractals as a Tool Kit engineer.
I don’t see how it’s a punishment. If people want to get their skins and move on, let them. People like me, who want to explore the content more deeply and get all the achievements, will do so at their own pace.
I had trouble the first time I fought him but once I learned the pattern it was very easy to beat him.
The biggest thing that helped me was hopping across the lily pads to avoid the big aoe he does, since dodging on the three large lily pads simply wasn’t enough. Once you know how to out-range and avoid his aoes entirely he’s a joke.
I’m hoping they’ll address it asap. It is quite unfortunate seeing as how the skin itself is quite good.
Having the same problem. Posted it here.
People once thought the earth was flat.
I got my shield today thanks to the multiple character ‘trick.’ Can’t say it’s a bad thing. I enjoy the content and will be diving back into SAB soon enough to finish off the achievements. Not everything has to be a grind.
I’m reading a lot of poorly written posts by so-called ‘40 and 50 year olds.’ Did you people actually go to school? I was under the impression the public school system is getting worse, not better, as time goes on.
As for the topic itself, I love the SAB. I’m quite a fan of exploring and platforming. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Super Mario 64 are two of my favorite games ever. SAB appeals to players like me, who enjoy doing things in-game that don’t necessarily get us better loot or achieve specific ‘hardcore’ goals. It’s just a way to blow off steam and enjoy a little bit of what made games like Super Mario 64 so iconic in their hay day.
P.S. I’m 25.
Use the torch to burn away the stun plants in your path. At the first checkpoint, jump up against the wall and spam your attack with it.
Not sure if this can be fixed, but I’ve noticed some rather severe clipping when my new shield is equipped. I don’t mind shields that clip into my back; it happens in all games. However, it’s annoying seeing my character’s face clipped by the shield when he’s in a fighting stance. Additionally, it clips pretty visibly through the backpack. That being said, this is probably my favorite skin in the game aside from Flameseeker Prophecies. Thanks!
Here are some screenshots of the issue:

Sorry, but I’m a pistol/shield engineer and will be running around with that Super Shield soon enough.
Best shield skin in the game, imo.

The Ascalonian Catacombs medium armor set has a graphical glitch. I can’t screenshot it since it’s an animation or something, but the Ascalon Leather Hat will ‘blink’ whenever my character blinks. It looks rather weird, as if it’s stuck to the facial layer or something. I should specify that it is the EXOTIC version of the helm that glitches.
If one of you devs could equip it on a male asura, you should be able to replicate it.

I just bought the hoodie town clothes and noticed that it clips through my asura town pants. Pretty badly, I might add. It clips in the front and back (See screenshots). Here’s hoping this can be fixed so I don’t have to regret spending 200 gems on what is otherwise a really neat item.
I’m excited to see how they changed Orr, personally.
I hit 0.00kb/s as well but it’s undoubtedly because of the massive traffic jam of people downloading.
Just be patient, everyone.
I’m level 51 currently and amazed at how natural levels seem to come to me. I don’t even think about it and I end up inching my way towards 80.
It’s quite nice.
Buying a video game without knowing anything about it is just as stupid as buying a microwave and then complaining that it doesn’t play DVDs. If you’re not informed about a product you shouldn’t be spending money on it.
A fool and his money are soon parted. In this case, there were apparently a lot of foolish consumers.
My Sylvari warrior is a Valiant like the personal story suggests, but his dream differed greatly from the in-game ‘canon’ itself.
Warrior – Noon Cycle
Dreamed of great cities rising up against the horizon in the noon day sun. One was decorated with flags and its shining towers stood erect and imposing, but on the ground below half-man, half-horse creatures stormed the gates relentlessly. Another city was covered in snow and protected by four great animals, but it too was besieged by icy monstrosities and the gleaming eyes of massive armored men. Another was crafted of iron, with its enormous gears ever turning, and outside a sea of ghosts descended upon it like an unholy tide. Finally, a floating cube hanging in the air. Just below, the cries of the dying are heard as undead beasts swarm across the landscape. And, after all of this, there was simply an ever-present shadow staring at him.
He basically dreamed about the great cities of the world and the threats each of them face. Above it all stands the elder dragons, the ever-present shadow, but his Wyld Hunt, as interpreted from this dream, is that the cities of the world must not become distracted by the threats they face right now. So, his purpose as a Valiant is more than simply fighting Zhaitan and the elder dragons, but more to travel Tyria and find these great cities so that he can end their hardship and turn their attention to the greater threat.
The Nightmare Court, and the Nightmare itself, came to be after the first of the Secondborn (Caderyn) was basically scolded by the Pale Tree. One of the Firstborn was wounded by the Asura during their experiments, and Caderyn wanted to enact vengeance upon their species. The Pale Tree basically said it wasn’t the way of the Sylvari, and then turned her back on him. When he demanded an explanation, the Firstborn told him the Pale Tree would no longer hear him.
The Nightmare stems from Caderyn’s pride, anger, and probably most of all his jealousy of the Firstborn and their relationship with the Pale Tree. The Nightmare Court is not noble by any stretch of the imagination. They are quite evil in their methods and at their core, but the idea of ‘freeing the Sylvari from a life without true purpose’ is not inherently evil either.
I love the Nightmare Court because of that dichotomy between good and evil. There’s a wide range within the Court.
Last I checked, ‘addiction’ isn’t a good thing.
I guess all the WoW kids whose lives were dominated by the MMO are finally realizing they have NOTHING else outside of their video games. Get a job or get a life. Do something else.
That’s probably T1 cultural armor. Can’t tell if it’s medium or light, though.
I’ve had the opposite issue with environmental objects. Often I’ll seem like I’m close enough to some destructible quest item but when I swing I miss, forcing me to move in very close. Might just be the windows.
I’ve leveled from 1 to 39 using only the Hammer, though I keep a rifle on-hand in case I need to range something.
The damage is decent, but you won’t kill as fast as a GS or axe user. The control on normal mobs is really great, though.
Warrior’s Sprint is completely worthless since it doesn’t work in combat. I feel like the Discipline line is a bit underwhelming because of that.

This is the best calc out there…
That was the calc I used until I realized the links break on this forum, therefore I changed it to another one. Don’t troll my thread, please.
Build in new calculator. Hopefully it’ll work this time.

Hammer is better simply because you look 10x manlier using one.
I hear Sylvari Grasping Vines or whatever is good in PVP for immobilizing groups.
I use hammer as my primary weapon (secondary rifle for ranged combat and conditions).
Love the style of it, the animations, and the damage output. It’s not huge like GS but it’s also the less beaten path of being a warrior and has tons of control.
EDIT: Build is below. This is designed for PVE though I might try it in sPVP at some point.
The basic idea is to use Hammer as my primary weapon (I love hammers) but instead of focusing solely on defensive support like Taugrim and others, I tried to strike a balance between damage and defense. I went heavily into Strength and Arms to give me some decent crit as well as power and in text the trait Unsuspecting Foe seems like it synergizes really well with Earthshaker.
I took Endure Pain with Frenzy in order to offset the increased damage taken during frenzy, and I would use them in tandem whenever I had the opportunity to capitalize on a disabled opponent. Rifle would be swapped in for bleeds and ranged combat if things became too difficult.
Take note that I’m still fairly new to the game so this might make sense to me now but I don’t know the intricate details of higher levels (only like level 34 atm). Any feedback would be appreciated!
