I’d suggest adding your post there

That makes sense then. So really, they didn’t give us a new rainbow skin but took the old green jellyfish and renamed it rainbow, excellent….

So lazy…

I don’t mind the new jellyfish skin, but, what they should do is make this new skin a new species called green jellyfish and give us a proper rainbow jellyfish like the one shown in the concept arts

Game minimizing every 5-10 minutes

Title says most of it, since the last patch I’ve found that my game minimizes every 5-10 minutes and whilst it’s easy enough to click it in the task bar it is very annoying and quite frustrating when doing anything that requires timing ie bosses, JPs etc.

Has anyone else experience this or got any ideas as to what may be causing it?

If I may, I’d like to point you to this thread

There’s a really long discussion regarding this particular suggestion, I think it’d be better to keep this discussion going there since all possible arguments for and counter arguments against has been made in there. No point re hashing stuffs.

Staff Marks and Critical Hit Question

2. Critting on 5 dummies the flame blast seemed to go off randomly on them, as in not the one closest to the middle but any.

That is not surprising. If the one closest to the center doesn’t trigger the blast then you move on to the next one and so on until the blast is triggered and the internal cooldown starts.

Yep that is fair enough.

So in essence to answer question 2 with the words SageCyan used. Yes it has a chance to trigger on any of them.

SOTG Interview: DS To Get a Unique Condition

Snip

I definitely agree with something like this. I don’t necessarily like the suggestions but I very much support the 5th DS skill to be weapon specific and something that applies to their general roles.

Thus as a couple of examples.

Scepter I’d like to see a ‘disease’ conditions, spreads to nearby allies and ticks for X damage with a X% increase if target is bleeding.

Axe a cleave type of attack, think ele’s Dragon’s Claw style of cleave but mixed with our underwater Wave of Fear animation (but more awesome/fierce looking)

Dagger I’m tempted to say something life leechy, like insidious parasite from GW1 (loved that skill), put a condition on target that steals health based on % of casters HP when target attacks.

Staff can’t think of anything amazing but I like marks so another mark wouldn’t hurt. Maybe even something that gives us some seconds of stability. Or since I consider staff a hybrid weapon a mark that applies the disease condition + a 2ndary effect of some kind.

Well just throwing that out there. Main point, I like the idea of weapon specific DS#5.

I did literally 5 minutes of testing in the mists (mainly for question 2) of this so don’t take it as the ultimate truth but just what I observed.

1. Yes

2. Critting on 5 dummies the flame blast seemed to go off randomly on them, as in not the one closest to the middle but any.

3. It uses the currently equipped set. Ie if you have fire on staff and ice on other weapon, when the marks go off and you got ice weapon equipped it’ll trigger ice sigil.

My new Minion Mancer WvW Movie, Enjoy

Whilst I cringe at the ‘mancer’ word in your title (I don’t understand where this word has come from but I’ve only ever seen it here on the GW2 boards)

The video itself is a perfect example of the poor state of the minion AI in WvW. I play most necro specs including minion master so I understand this frustration and the reactions a lot of people on this board has regarding it. If I remember correctly they mention AI improvements in the latest SOTG episode though, so hopefully it’ll get better.

Robert Hrouda on pets in dungeons

Honestly, I don’t think the devs can (or are prepared to) do what needs to be done to make the pet mechanic viable while maintaining health diversity (read: cats and birds are also viable in dungeons) without turning the class into a ridiculously complex mess of micromanagement and inefficient outcomes. Consider how difficult many players find dodging attacks when they only have to worry about themselves, do you really think a dodge skill for the pet is going to be a working fix for this issue for most rangers? They then have to pay attention to the boss/mobs, their character’s position and their pet’s position – and then they have to command both themselves and their pet to dodge (often at the same time) not to mention the likelihood of having to manage two dodge bars (a ranger one and a pet one, they likely wouldn’t give you unlimited dodges for the pet). So micromanaging and resource management are the gameplay being pushed by that kind of design. A lot of us play the class for the AI companion, not a micromanaged companion. Micromanaging, while increasing the skill cap (in a certain way), isn’t going to solve the problem for a lot of rangers, and for many players it takes the class in a direction they don’t want to go in.

I am genuinely interested in why he thinks two rangers, through smart use of pet swap, two-manning bosses (many bosses can be soloed by multiple classes already, it just takes longer – in some cases not by much) is a bad thing, given the current meta we already have. I don’t want brand dead easy face tanks pets to trivialise boss fights, but I don’t see micromanagement as an appropriate solution and I do think there is a problem.

I had to log in just to echo this particular part of Shirens’ post. I’m all for fixing ranger pets etc as I’ve wanted to play one since launch but it’s been hard to justify it if you will. Thus I support this thread but with all the discussion regarding pet dodges, survivability and what not I was surprised it took several pages before someone pointed this out.

Often it’s difficult enough to know exactly when you need to dodge in order to avoid some damage, with a pet dodge you’d be required to not only keep track of your own position but also your pet’s exact position which also trying to see your pet amongst all the spell graphics surrounding bosses getting nuked, seeing red circles on the floor which may be behind the boss since that’s where your pet is, camera angles etc the list goes on a bit. In addition you’d also have to hit your own dodge key as well as an additional F key or any other key bind you have.

Just have a think of what it actually would mean to have to keep track of all of this and execute additional key commands.

I doubt a pet dodge is the answer to all questions, but I’m hoping that this thread will manage to find a solution that caters to most and is not too difficult to actually use.

Cheers

There’s some great stuff in this thread and I hope Anet takes into consideration the posts that’s been made in here.

I do agree with a lot that’s been posted here, in particular I want to add regarding GS Maul.

I absolutely 100% agree with a previous poster that stated to remove the bleed (no one uses GS in a condition build) and add 3 stacks of might to it instead, I’d love to see that change.

I’d also go one step further and say, make Maul our blast finisher. The animation is already there and it just makes sense IMO.
