This is actually a buff to porting! Especially in Forest of Niflhel, no more rangers camping up top w/o having any melee pressure.
In one of the POI streams they stated that stability allowed classes (specifically guardian) to just stack stability and run into groups without any fear of CC. Stability is pretty low on the boon strip hierarchy so this is allows for some additional counter play.
This will more than likely only be apparent in WvW situations because as Laraley stated, it would be pretty difficult to remove all the stacks in a 5v5 situation.

Well isn’t AoE the same cooldown as doylak? Balanced Stance is on a slightly lower CD @ 40sec. so it would make sense that it is now slightly weaker compared to AoE/Doylak.

The amount of rage from farmers in this thread is ridiculous.
Doesn’t matter if you played 2 games or 100. If they are ranked, they should count. What’s the point of a ranked arena if they aren’t being counted toward anything?
Edited because they don’t like my criticism.. So here we go.
You do a patch mid afternoon yesterday. Patches are supposed to fix things, but instead the leaderboard breaks. This wintersday patch was a time to get more people pvping in order to test out your new leaderboard. Instead an entire day goes by with everyone in the dark.
If something is broken such as leaderboards not counting matches, that is something that should be addressed immediately and a notification should be posted on the forums and an alert made in game.

I feel like this outfit was made for my thief, Pretty amazing work by the design team.
It looks like your outfit is dyed, I thought they couldn’t be dyed now?
They usually have 4 channels for the whole outfit. You can’t dye “individual” pieces though.
I see, thanks for the info.

The story lines are only different up to a certain point, after which all of the story steps are exactly the same. They said that living story is a continuation of personal story. Season 1 happened after the defeat of Zhaitan, and Season 2 is after season 1. The fact that they did season 1 differently is because they had not yet thought of doing it through the story journal. The story is personal to a particular character. The interactions between your character and the bi-conics are different based on the choices you’d made in your personal story, your race, etc.
I still point out the fact that you cannot start explorable paths of a dungeon unless that particular character has completed the story version.
The story mode & explore modes of dungeons and game story work the same, as they should.
In Guild Wars 1 you couldn’t complete the story on one character and then immediately be able to access hard mode on all of your characters…that was character bound as well.
Well different is still different even if it’s only to a certain point. It just make sense that if you are going to essentially make the LS part of the personal story through the story journal then it should be in the same format the personal story is and have it be different for each character even if only to a certain point. Again though, the only real cap you have on dungeons is your level. You can get a group and run any explorable you want without completing the story mode. I agree though, the dungeon example is the best comparison.
In the end, I don’t necessarily care that I have to redo it on every character. I would of just liked if each character had the story be a little different if it’s going to be character-bound.

Season 1 was a different bag of rocks. It was not built or designed with the story journal or continuation of personal story in mind.
True but it was still labeled as the living story not a personal story, only a continuation. The personal story is different for every character you have unless you create them all exactly the same thus that part of the story has to be character-bound. This story is exactly the same no matter which toon you use so it makes it redundant for no reason. If it was suppose to be character-bound then at least have it be the same format that the personal story is, that is, based on character creation.
The living story is unlocked and playable on all characters.
To unlock the achievements you must complete the story on the character you wish to do them on. I can’t get to the final part of my personal story and complete the Arah Dungeon Story mode on another character in order to finish the first character’s story.
If my guardian does a dungeon story mode my guardian has access to the explorable paths. Same thing going on here. Have to do the story mode before you unlock the explorable/achievement path.
Well the Arah example you are using is part of your personal story. This is living story, not personal. Each character you create can have a different story line so it makes total sense to have that character-bound. This is exactly the same story so what’s the point? The dungeon example is a good example but one that many have complained about as well. The difference in the dungeon however is that you can still run the explorable path you just can’t start it so in that way you don’t really need to redo the story mode.

Personal story is character bound. Living Story is an extension of Personal Story and therefore it makes sense that it too is Character bound.
I don’t recall any of the LS1 being character bound but do you know of any that were?
FYI sizer changed his rune setup. He’s using Pack runes instead of strength and using Hard to Catch master trait.
Cool, I might try the air/fire strength and see if it puts out more burst. Thanks for the info!
Honestly it is the runes you could go alternate with hoelbrak.
+45% might duration and 7% damage pretty much all the time isn’t a small thing. There would be no reason to run strength sigils or battle if you didn’t run the runes because air/fire or force would get you better Dps. They still get you better Dps even with strength runes but I see you are going with a might stacking theme.
Air can put out 1400+ damage with good power and modifiers. You need a lot of consistent might to keep up with that extra damage. I think your underestimating how important strength runes are to your build.
So are you saying hoelbrak with air/fire would be better dps?
Important distinction – it blocks ranged projectiles, not ranged AoEs/ground targetted abilities. I.e. arrows, Kill Shots, etc.
I understand and agree that it only blocks ranged projectiles like arrows etc. but it doesn’t even consider blocked projectiles as a block since it doesn’t trigger traits.
(edited by Hachiman.2470)
I’d be content with them just have it actually block ranged attacks like the description states that it does…
Good build, as some stated, mobility can be an issue but since you have the GS you don’t completely lose it. I tried the travelers runes but in the end I didn’t feel the need for the little extra speed at the cost of the extra might/duration. This build is very effective for bursting and jumping into a battle for quick aoe/cleave dmg which can quickly turn the tables in your teams direction. One change I did though was I used sword/focus instead of mace because this build is susceptible to kiting and having 2 teleports along with Leap of faith kind of makes up for it not to mention if you are going against ranged then you still get the 3s block from Zealot’s defense.
Once again, teams are not supposed to change their team-setup because you run a broken spec. No one right in their minds is going to put their guard on close to bunker vs a decap engineer, Guardians are supposed to be in the teamfights.
On not knowing how to time dodges, please take a look at your skills and look at the cast time of your cc ability’s. Ye take a close look, oh wait is there no cast time on them 0,o? Oh my random dodge skills I suppose. And unless these day’s there is a bunker thief on close node spamming black powder there is no class in the game that is going to prevent a decap with blinds.
That is exactly what teams are supposed to do. You change your team-setup when you know you see that you are going against a certain team makeup.
A bunker guardian can guard home if you are going against decap…probably won’t be able to kill them but you can prevent the decap with shields/blinds/stability/stunbreakers. I have and play every class. They all have their really strong specs but there is always another class that has a counter. You stated one yourself, a bunker spam black powder thief can null a decaps cc’s.
Yo,
i dont understand the hate about decap engi’s.
there are classes to counter them, just need to adjust build (warrior, ranger can do it)
then also when a power build harash ure close the bunker will need help 2.. so why wont it need help with a decap engi?and for the AR… maybe u should get some power in ure build, and not stay spamming ure conditions from far away? and get some skill into pvp?
i know a few tactics to counter decap engi’s (i play one myself)..
and there not so hard to understand u will just need a good team setup and not run with randoms PUGS..
^^^
I don’t see the problem with the decap engi either. It is easily countered with the correct team set up. A stability bunker guardian easily counters this with no problem. Most of the time on soloq I rarely see an engineer, possibly 25% of the time. If you run a build that is heavily dependent on conditions, has no access to stun breakers/stability/blinds and do not know when to time you’re dodges then of course you are going to lose.
Personally, it’s getting played out to complain about classes being OP. Sooo, Bunker Guardian, Hambow Warrior, Condi/Zoo Necro, S/D Thief, Mesmer, Zoo Ranger and Decap Engineer are OP? Thats basically every class excluding ele and even they can be strong.
From what I understand the rank vendors will stay but the cultural/dungeon armor vendor will be gone.
With all due respect, the reputation of anet implementing positive change from player feedback has been lackluster at best. New skins excluding Ascended have all been implemented via BLC. LS has been for the most part a zerg with not much story depth not to mention every LS patch has had at least one major bug associated with it. SPvP participation has fell through the roof. These just a few things I can come up with off the top of my head that I have read/experienced.
This is not to say that I should not expect any problems but this game has had some of the same bug’s since launch. With the bugs in dungeons, people abusing/exploiting LS/pvp patches, nothing substantial has been done to discourage this. It has come to a point where the same exploiters are waiting for the next patch to come through so they can find that bug to exploit. The order of operation has been: Read of bugs from tickets/forums, attempt to fix bug all while exploiters are reaping the benefit until next hot patch.
The community as a whole I would say is not satisfied. The player base has dropped significantly and I see few reasons to suggest this trend will change. Because of this drop in player base, the choice was made to move updates to every 2 weeks through LS patches in order to keep players around though this is simply a “carrot on a stick” approach.
Well, the thing is ANET is not going to make every weapon skin that was in GW1 only accessible to the people who played then. I played GW1 and I don’t even know the history behind many things in GW simply because I do not pay much attention to the game lore. Its somewhat irrelevant whether or not the player knows the story behind the weapon/armor skin that they like the look of.
What I do not want though is there to be so many people who complain about this same thing and then they remove or change the skin like they have in the past.
The problem is if you look at the screenshot, it did not give him the completion for the meta and he also stated it did not give him the +4 achievement points…
Well I’m not, I’m mad they put something in the game that I wanted for my asura then took it away. I’m also still saving to buy the human t3 for ele which I like more on my human anyway.
well congrats QQ, you got what you wanted.
Since everyone wants compensation for gold spent, I would like compensation for gold not received because they switched ticket skins to sellable after I used mine. My fused GS is going for over 300g on the TP and if they would have been sellable when I got mine I would never have used the skin.
Speak for yourself, I look forward to getting that dragonite ingot and empyrean star so I can finally craft my ascended sword.
First, I’m going to buy the gem armor because I’ve always liked the light t3 armor even if it does have fire on it. But consider yourself lucky that you only lost 100g since everyone who had ticket weapon skins before they were sellable lost way more.
What are you doing to get 100 dragonite in 15-20 min?
As with every unique armor/weapon skin, you paid gold to have it first. I was upset when they made fused weapon skins as others, sellable. When they did that I basically lost the 300g I could have made by selling my fused GS skin I got before they were sellable.
I agree for the the most part, too many armors now have fire effects, although I do like that the light armor skin is basically t3 human so you don’t have to spend over 100g to get the full set but just 10 bucks instead.
I don’t necessarily think it matters but I haven no trouble with my zerker mesmer kiting a non-group event champ with 2 veterans. I do agree though, if a few people attack and it causes scaling then that is bad.
Edit: Didn’t notice you stated you were on a necro.
