So what you’re saying is, I gotta sit there and look at three gold farmers named “NSGWEG” and “NSGWWG” and “SDFWNG” who have been in the zone for 5 days. Eh…. I like your idea, but don’t find it appealing.
The only beneficial thing I liked in that whole post was this:
“Have a stat on the hero page to show magic find.”
I support this. I would like 3 trait choices. Maybe 1g for the first additional 1, 3 gold for the second, and 5 gold for the 3rd. That way i can have my Dungeon spec, PVP spec, and PVE spec
Can always use that on another toon. It is account bound. So throw it in the bank and level up another toon later on, and voila you got another toon with it.
I think you’re confusing Guild Wars with the Tycoon games, where the object is to make money.
Nonsense. This whole post. Keep them kittenty!
I agree. I used to love doing all the dragons, and would pay attention to the spawn timers so I can be a part of them. Then when I calculated how much money I had to spend just travelling to the zone, compared to how much I make selling back all the stupid blues, then the cost of travelling BACK to where I originally was at, it just wasn’t worth it. I think 1 guaranteed Rare is fair, as selling that one item would cover the cost of travel there and back. Everything else you sell is just extra, which would make it worthwhile to attend.
Yet….now that I think about it, being level 80, fully geared out, even if it dropped a rare each round, I still don’t think I would make it a point to go and participate. Jormag better drop some better loot than that. Maybe 15-20% chance to drop exotic, 80% chance to drop rare, 100% chance for greens/blues, 100% chance to drop 25-50 rare ore, Cloth or Leather items, .5% chance to drop mini-Jormag pet, 50% chance to drop Black Lion Keys, etc.
Don’t do it dude. It isn’t worth it one bit. I have full exotics with MF, all the Rings/Accessorys/Necklace, Omnomberry bars, Sigil’s & Runes with MF. I spent plenty of time farming at the Karma Racetrack, and to be honest, I couldn’t tell a difference between that or any other toon. The drop rates all seem to be the exact same. Some days you get lucky, most days you get junk. I’ve had days where i’ve gotten like rares in 2 hours, other days i could go all day and only get 1. The same exact thing happens on my other toons which have zero MF. So i’d say buy yourself armor that gives other stats. If ANet fixes it sometime in the future and players can actually tell a difference with it, then i’ll go back to it, but for now I think it is a complete waste of money and broken system.
I agree with the orginal poster on this topic. I have an 80 Warrior/Thief/Ranger/Guardian/Engineer and I can say out of all of those 5 classes, the Engineer is by far the worst class. Sure some of the abilities are fun and kiting Champions around with your bombs is funny, but overall, the class is seriously lacking in a specialized ability.
Rangers = Pet/STRONG range DPS
Warriors = Extreme Toughness
Guardians = Toughness+Healing
Thief=BURST DPS+Invisibility
Engineers= mix match of turrents/grenades/weapons. It’s like a jack of all trades, but master of none. While this sounds ideal, it’s not, when you have to spec into a category. I.e. If you wanted to use turrents, you would spec mostly for that, leaving your grenades somewhat weak if you had to switch to them. So technically it’s not a jack of all trades, if you have to keep switch talents.
Bottom line, Engineer is weak and needs some type of benefit to a group. Maybe more weapon choices other than pistol/rifle and thats it.
I agree. If someone spends that much time and effort working towards a legendary, they should be able to put whatever stats they want on it. If they want Vitality/Vitality/Vitality all on one weapon, then they should be able to do that, because it IS a LEGENDARY weapon.
I approve of this message. Nothing should be allowed to go on sale on the market at a lower price then at a vendor+tax. And minimum bids should be set for each item that matches the price of an item+tax.
I approve of this message.
Elephant Mounts could take Heavy (Heavy Armor) damage but only run at 30% increase, War Mounts can take Medium (Medium Armor) damage and run at 35% increase, and Horse Mounts can take Light (Light Armor) damage but run at 40% increase of speed.
This would also give the players the ability to choose their method of travel and look.
I agree with the mounts, however you will still have loading screens to get to different zones. It helps keep the graphics requirements low and the coding simpler. But Mounts would be nice, if they granted say 40% increased run speed, with your mount taking the damage instead of the player. Once the mounts health is depleted, you are automatically kicked off your mount, and the mount gets stored for like 5 minutes if the mount completely dies, 2 min if it is put away with damage.
Something to that nature to prevent exploiting, but still be viable for use.
And I guess while i’m on the topic of the Black Market Trader, the sort ability needs to be fixed. When I put in a search term such as “Superior Sigil” and hit search, a list of all of the Superior Sigils comes up for me to browse. When I select the Price field at the top to sort by prices, it loses the search term I initially chose, and comes up with 50 something pages of nonsense. As well as things that are listed on the trader that obviously cannot be sold, such as Food items. If the only way we can get certain food items are through Karma at certain locations, and they are account bound, there should not be any listing for those items “in bulk” on the trader. It just adds to the confusion of whether they can be purchased or not.
While crafting, I usually have two interface screens up, I have my crafting screen up and the Black Market Trade screen up. The problem that I have is that when you use the black market trader, you put in the name of the item you need, then you click back on the crafting screen to see how many materials you need, then you click back onto the Market trading screen to input the number of materials you need, and instead of inputting numbers into the quantity field, I end up using my abilities 1-6. I may leap from one side of the screen to the other, or evade backwards because I pressed 2, then because I evaded backwards, the trade screen closed, and I have to start all over again.
Suggestion would be to make your action bar greyed out/inoperable while the Black Market Trade screen is up. That way you avoid using your abilities on accident while at the trader.
I would just be happy with Single Runes with a much higher stats. So If I wanted to balance my character out, I might buy two Runes of Toughness for +60 each, giving me +120 Toughness, then maybe 2 runes of Vitality for +60, giving me +120 Vitality, then maybe 1 Rune of Precision for +60, and 1 Rune of Magic Find for +60 or something. That way I can mix and match my own sets the way I see fit. Obviously if someone stacks 6 runes of Vitality, they’ll have a Huge life pool, but wont have much in the way of Toughness. So ultimately it would work itself out.
While travelling around, I came across the “Sniper Rifle” in Plains of Ashford at the Cadern Forest near the Watchcrag Tower Waypoint. It has incredible power, and even better range. I would like to suggest that this droppable Sniper Rifle be available say as an Elite Skill. It would not be an auto weapon like the Rocket Launcher/Rifle/Flame Thrower, but one that must be utilized by the Engineer or someone in his party. It would be similar to dropping a Mortar tube, except would have more uses. This would be an ideal Elite weapon skill for Boss Fights, where the your group would be spending a good amount of time at, and would make the Engineer a good choice for dungeons where heavy DPS is needed.
Thoughts/Suggestions?
