Violent Tendency [vT]
Ferguson’s Crossing Roamer
This really, hobo you are amazing. The more I watch you the more I am convinced I don’t need SR hahaha
Thanks Hollts. Yeah it took me a while to make the leap to non-SR build, but honestly I don’t know if I can even go back now. The sheer pressure output in spite/curses is overwhelming and a ton of fun.
Snip
Yeah soul marks are great for zerg fights since it bypasses all that random aegis that comes out. Man the burst output of the spite/curses build is no joke, especially if you’re a boon heavy class like guard.
If it was a char it was probably me with the ele. What is funny is me and the ele were probably kicking ourselves for not winning it haha. Ele and necro duo is one of the strongest duo roaming comps currently without a doubt. Very difficult to fight against unless you find a way to cc the ele and train the necro at the same time.
snip
Thanks man I appreciate it. Always nice to have people who clearly put some thought into what they’re seeing.
You’re spot on with what you’re saying too. In theory necro has some of the best potential to cancel cast to bait cds since the animations are so long, but it is tougher to pull off during fights just due to what you’re having to think about. Whenever I’m fighting, I generally am always trying to move myself to a position that I think will give myself an edge until I see an opening. It seems silly to do stuff like ring-around-the-rosie on a house to kite someone, but it wins fights. Shroud bursts are something I really learned when I first picked necro up by playing baseline necro since I had to rely on them for burst damage much more than you need to for reaper. Mistiming them can kill you very quickly, and I’d be the first to say it happens to me along with every other necro.
I totally agree with the SR analysis. This build is basically a WvW altered “procmancer” build from SPvP. In the end, some necros really love that extra LF to give them a boost in fights. For myself, I find the extra corrupts and the sheer amount of pressure you put out with curses/spite combo is too good to give up.
It is interesting cause Vipers does well in outnumbered fights while solo roaming moreso than it does in duels. People are much more likely to underestimate your damage when you use vipers and you end up being able to swing fights by downing people in the initial burst. Support really does help and I’m lucky to have Thorp whos a kitten support ele (shameless plug for his youtube channel).
Again I agree. As necro you do your best by turning the opponents openings around onto themselves and resulting in them over-extending. The number of people who underestimate the amount of boon corrupts I have especially on the signet build, really is amazing. When I see an enemy pop stab I am almost glad since I know I have the ability to turn that against them. For me, using your corrupts well especially against other necros really is important. If a necro uses their DS stab early in a fight I always try to instantly corrupt it since it breaks up their entire combo usually.
Haha monkey backpack was carrying me there no doubt. I love that spot, people don’t seem to like to pan their cameras it seems.
Ok, I’m going to try this again. I will be posting all my videos to this thread and keeping an eye on it discussion-wise. So feel free to post any comments/suggestions/questions you have in this thread. As long as Anet doesn’t move it to Community Creations again, this will be my thread for my videos.
Anyways, I have a new video out (Volume 41). Hope you all enjoy

Good stuff Hollts.
I’m a bit curious about why you decided to use so much rabid and rabid/dire mix in the build. Personally, especially with the gs build I use, I prefer vitality much more than toughness (thank goodness for vit increasing lf pool) and carrion helps keep the power value high for the build. Especially since you are only have access to 1 plague signet and suffer for condi management, extra vitality becomes a huge boon imo.
Also, I’m going to assume that using soul marks in the build was a misclick and that you’re using the 25% movement speed and shroud recharge trait instead. The only other trait I might consider looking at is the SR grandmaster. Disclaimer I am not as familiar with how running SR with vipers feels so take this with a grain of salt. When you first enter shroud we get 5s of fury which puts the crit chance at a respectable ~40% which is enough time to do some good damage in shroud without needing that extra boost from the GM trait. Since shroud stability got nerfed, I would probably take FitG instead to give myself the extra stunbreak and allow me to at least eat one random CC in DS.
Sigil wise I would be tempted to drop ice for hydro and malice for geo or torment. Personally I think hydro is a must on scepter so you can really punish people when you enter shroud (or leave it). Plus it has a lower cd, does damage, and is an aoe unlike sigil of ice. Malice is useful, but at a certain point I would rather have more burst pressure through geo or another cover condition in torment. With how DC is currently (aka broken) if the opponent isn’t cleansing in time for the 10% to make a difference they’re probably gonna be dead anyways and geo allows for that to happen faster. Torment is good for reasons you already mentioned.
This is probably closer statswise to the build I would run if I used SR with vipers with the changes I mentioned above too. I would also think about using this food since it is still bugged to give more life steal chance. Personally, while I love the mobility of worm (please give us mobility with sand shroud anet), it doesn’t always feel impactful in fights. Maybe rise, SA, or NCSU would work better, but again if worm feels good with the SR version then you’d know better than I.
This change would make me hate necro. Just because you spam the button and accidently flash shroud doesn’t mean others don’t find shroud flashing useful. Forcing me to stay in shroud for longer wouldn’t be good.
Great, now I want to play core necro with signets again… my guild is gonna hate me (more than they already do).
Solid stuff man.

Ralkuth echoes my thoughts as well. As a creator if post in the necro forums for example that is my target audience. I want players who play that class to see it and learn from it. I also want feedback from players who play that class. Community creations serves a purpose for content (much like what Gaile mentioned) where the class is not the center piece of the video. But if I’m roaming on necro that’s very different from roaming on thief and they should be in their class forums not grouped together here.
If you need an example, Gladomer streams daily on things like trailblazer necro or druid. He mostly talks to viewers while he 1v6s.
I wouldn’t give glad as an example for roaming necromancer play considering he usually just hangs by the Zerg whenever he plays it. And I’ve yet to see him even attempt a 1v6 let alone win one, hell it’s rare to see him attempt anything beyond a 1v2. Usually he just runs around with randoms following him and claims he’s outnumbered every fight.
To address the larger point of the thread, this and similar ranger builds have existed for years. They’re extremely tanky, but honestly they have low mobility and poor pressure unless you’re braindead and eat a bunch of it. If the druid is double melee you should be able to easily kite it around and then bait out the stun breaks before cc’ing it to death. Good necros eat these builds alive along with good thieves, good warriors, good Mesmer’s, good scrappers, and good revenants. I only exclude eles cause their builds ATM are probably too tanky to take one down. Condi druid is just a pug stomper build that doesn’t remain viable above 1v2.
(edited by Helly.2597)
lGet your facts straight.
-Warriors don’t have endless stab. They have stab on F2, and any stunbreak, of which there are a total of 2 in the meta build. Which is not too much. Just enough to get by. Stability pulsing no longer exists.
-Stab is always corrupted first. Resi is converted to chill, which is brutally efficient for a condi necro, and good for a power necro as well.
-Resistance is totally a boon. It’s been a year from that particular Berserker Stance change.
Apparently I had a trait confused.
Just to point out a mistake here though, stability is not always corrupted first. Like conditions they changed it to last in first out. So good warriors can cover stability or resistance with other boons. But the larger point that the pulsing stab nerf hit warriors hard in this matchup is correct.
(edited by Helly.2597)
Thanks for putting this in community creations despite it’s target audience consisting of entirely necromancers. If you’re gonna move some videos move them all don’t do this where you move some and not others.
Being unable to reach your target audience as a creator is beyond frustrating. Especially when it’s not communicated to the creator clear reasons why their thread gets moved while others don’t. The inconsistency and lack of communication makes me not want to post content to these forums.
I make commentary videos about how to play necromancer in WvW along with videos such as these. The audience simply isn’t going to come here to find that content.
Ele sustain and healls bother me just as much as necros burst condi damage right now.
Good gameplay nevertheless
It really is crazy how good the heals are. Thankfully as a few of the fights showed, you can down them fairly quickly if you are condi reaper but two wrongs don’t make a right.
snip
Oh I definitely agree. If I wasn’t duoing with an ele I would have to play the fights very differently. It enables me to just focus on keeping the pressure up constantly on our opponents. Ele/Necro is probably the best pug stomper duo roaming combo in wvw currently.
Viper reaper roaming again. This time with some support. Assuming I start making the videos as often as I have been I’ll just do as I did before and use this as the single thread where I compile them. Hopefully you all enjoy. As always please any feedback/comments are welcome. Builds are in the description.
Without a doubt scepter is best for condi builds. Personally I would never drop scepter for axe when running condi and honestly I would drop staff over scepter if I’m hybrid.
Staff is a great utility weapon, but imo especially if you aren’t running soul reaping (which in my builds I do not) you’re better off taking either gs or axe for the boon corrupts.
As for armor, carrion/tb mix might be best for roaming if you want a hybrid feel. Or mix vipers, carrion, and tb. I personally think cele wastes too many stats on necro to be worth it. You gain very little from healing power, toughness isn’t nearly as good as vit on necro (vit adds to your total lf pool as well so it double counts), ferocity is ok but you’re better off with just higher power, and precision is needed but you only need around 20% to be effective.
Altho i agree deathly chill is very strong if anet does not NERF ALL condis in game leave it be. Necros were not the strongest class regarding condis as the class sugests. Also regarding diminishing returns i do think they should exist but in all forms pf hard CC stun daze knockback.
I think we have two different ideas as to what anet means when they say refer to necro as master of conditions. For me, even before the DC buff, necros already had this role. While it goes without question that necro is stronger DPS wise now, it wasn’t the dps that makes it the strongest Condi class. It’s the access to condition transfers that has made necro unique and in my mind made/makes necro the class best suited for conditions. Transfers gave necros the ability to outplay/counter any other condi class before and now all anet has done is buff their DPS to a terrifying degree and kept this transfer mechanic. Hence why we see necros being so desirable in small scale and Zerg fights currently. Deathly chill as it is is borderline oppressive to the game mode and definitely diminishes the build variability of both necros and their opponents.
I should also point out when I talk about diminishing returns in this context I’m not talking about a cap/artificial max. I’m more referring to the fact that currently at no point does taking necros become disadvantageous for wvw groups currently. Since the bleed cap is no longer 25, it doesn’t matter if you have a lot of condi necros. You will always get full benefit from each additional necro you add with no real disadvantage. This becomes an issue since stacking necros means you’re also stacking transfers which is one way to deal with stacking necros. Previously back when chill did the damage you had dr since more than two necros meant you already had all the chill application and it didn’t stack so you would choose to take something else.
I am strongly against a diminishing returns system that is programmed into the game. Stability already exists, stun breaks exist, and resistance exists. You have tools to deal with these aspects of the game. I dont want diminishing returns since it seems like it would simply reward people for eating multiple stuns and not reacting appropriately.
I mean despite the OP…..Condi Reaper is really crazy op right now. Not sure how anyone can actually defend that class right now.
Because they play reapers most likely. Helly is a prolific viper reaper player and he made vids about how obnoxious reaper is atm and people still tell him hes wrong/ reapers deserve this meta blahblahblah. Not even someone who is an expert on reaper can tell the masses that reaper is ridiculous in wvw.
What makes reaper so strong right now is the impact you can have while being a complete and total braindead player. Regardless of if this/the other thread conveyed this, a totally new player can have the largest impact in small scale and zerging fights by making a reaper getting reaper runes and full dire and just spamming abilities. It snowballs fights well, requires minimal thought behind skill usage, and doesn’t have diminishing returns based on how many reapers are around you.
The heart of the problem is the lack of diminishing returns for deathly chill. It doesn’t matter if its 1 necro or 20, they all are applying the 3 bleeds per chill application. This promotes the meta we’re seeing now with reapers being one of the most popular professions especially in zergs. This meta simply isn’t healthy for wvw imo whatever aspect of the gamemode you play.
As someone who only plays small scale, I perfectly relate to that.
Depending on whom I’m playing at a given moment, I know there’re fights that I can engage and when I lose, I end up saying “should better’ve done that”. These are the exception.Unfortunately, there also are encounters which I don’t even try. Because I know, just from the profession, some skills, food and utility, that I’ll be helpless. Not because of skill, but because of perma evades, perma invulns, or perma stuns. In a nutshell : mechanics that allow the opposite player to play as if my chair was empty and I was afk brewing some tea. Of course, the set of encounters varies upon the toon I’m playing, but as I can change toon on the fly…
That said, some may argue it’s mechanics, and it’s balance : you can’t kill anyone with every toon. Some encounters have to be harder than others, there’re natural enemies, etc. I agree with that. To me, issue is : natural enemies aren’t skilled players or smart tactics in that game. Natural enemies are mechanics favoring a one-sided fight, and eventually making me feel helpless.
Personally I find this sort of reasoning/attitude some of the stupidest I’ve ever seen. Instead of trying to actually improve, you’re approaching fights expecting to lose instantly and not trying to figure out ways to beat them? To me thats laughable, especially when you’re consider the average skill of wvw players out there. Even playing specs that shouldn’t be winning fights, I never have that attitude and it turns out you can easily outplay the vast majority of players even when they’re using specs that should counter yours.
Another thing that frustrates me about this thread are the number of people that seem to think that warrior has invulns or that they are too strong. Warriors got a huge nerf recently with the increased cast time on some burst skills. Along with this endure pain autoproc doesn’t help them one bit against conditions and as a player you should be able to just trigger the proc and then kite them during the duration. Warrior certainly isn’t too strong.
If you know most players take a auto proccing invuln, then play around it and time your skills better. Someone mentioned in this thread they get tired of seeing “invuln invuln etc” to me that just means this player is too dumb to stop attacking and is wasting cds while the invuln is up instead of reacting appropriately.
Thanks the comments! I appreciate them.
I agree with the macro over micro aspect. A decent amount of the micro aspects for necro is canceling abilities to bait dodges, which is actually pretty easy due to how long our cast times are. A lot more of my fights are won due to macro and how I position to force my opponents to fight to my strengths instead of forcing me into areas where I can’t do that.
I love no port spots, sadly I don’t sPvP a lot anymore (not enough time to even play any mode at all really). There are a huge number of those spots in WvW as well, but unlike sPvP where they have to fight you near/on the points its much tougher to force thieves to fight you near spots where the no port areas exist sadly.
I much rather see ur vids half comentary and hf awesome sonngs. Maybe do one more directed towards ur signet build and why u changed sigil to torment? Good job
I was probably gonna do one just explaining some thought process behind the builds and why I might use one over the others depending on what I’m fighting.
I think it’d be nice to have a bunch of necro players doing commentaries even if they disagree just so more resources are open to other players.
Hello everyone, I made another commentary video for some roaming clips I’ve picked up recently. Let me know what you think about the commentary/video and if you agree/disagree with my thoughts about the positioning in some of the fights.
Enjoy!
Hello everyone, I’m back with another viper reaper roaming video. As always I would love to hear people’s comments/discussion about the video and their experiences with reaper in WvW.
Builds are in the description.
Personally I find that moving class specific videos to this subforum is a bad idea. You mention that class subforums are for discussion and this forum is for player creations, but one of the big reasons I make videos is to generate discussion. I have a target audience for my videos (currently necros) and the best place to reach that audience is through the subforum.
If I want feedback on my videos, I would prefer/require the ability to post my videos into the subforum that is most appropriate. Few players check this subforum for videos, let alone do many [insert class here] check this subforum for that specific class’ videos.
The argument of “what if someone makes a video with each of the classes” isn’t a good argument in my mind. You are taking a very specific example and attempting to use it as an argument for the majority of cases. If someone makes a video like that why not just deal with it on a case by case basis instead of applying a blanket ban/removal of class specific videos from their associated subforums.
Honestly the removal of videos from the subforums makes me not wish/have no desire to post my videos to the forums at all since there isn’t any real point if I can’t generate a discussion within the class I am playing.
It depends on your WvW experience and what you’re looking for. If you just ran to casually run in the zerg then yeah vipers will work probably, no need to worry. If you’re having issues just put in some exotic carrion/dire and that will work fine.
I personally only run Viper’s necro while I roam and I find it extremely strong. Trailblazer’s is on paper stronger and definitely the best route if you’re new to WvW, but you can make Viper’s work.
Thanks everyone for the comments. I do appreciate them.
Snip.
I think that the biggest mistake pug groups make in fights is not knowing what targets are high priority targets and which can be trained down easily. I think we can all agree that this is probably one of the biggest factors that makes roaming videos have some if those outnumbered clips.
In larger fights if a thief pressures me it can be tough, I think every necro build will struggle against good thieves. The thief I usually play with and I have a solid system for identifying threats like that and taking them out of the fight. 1v1 the outcomes of the fight depends on the thief I’m fighting. Even against very good thieves if I play near perfect I can pull out a win, but it’s an uphill battle. Again I feel that goes for every necro build out there currently.
People seem to not know the telegraphs on GS skills, but as angel mentioned counting dodges and seizing opportunities to hit the pull and other abilities makes a big difference.
Against a guild group that focuses me from the get go 3(+2 two other roamers) v X, Im Not too concerned with me eventually going down. By that point in the fight we’d already killed off/downed 3 of the opponents and had momentum. Now ideally I would never go down in fights, but doesn’t the fact that I do speak to the opponents being somewhat competent? Otherwise they’d have focused the thief or the support guard, but instead they tunnel visioned on me the whole fight.
Hello again! I have another viper reaper roaming video (albeit a bit of a shorter one). With the patch coming up I wanted to get back to necro and crush some new wvw player spirits. Builds are in the description of the video.
Any comments/questions are welcome.
Hybrid Warrior with rifle and Mace/shield?
I think GS ends up being better for the mobility based on when I tried it. Arc divider has good range to proc cleansing ire and adrenal health.
Condi ZzzzzZzzz
Condi that is squishier than the vast majority of power builds zzzz.
Necro/reaper can run vipers. Vipers is the only gear I’ve been running on my necro for a while now and I have success with it roaming. That doesn’t mean its the best gear combo, but you certainly can run it.
Other options I’ve tried are vipers rev and vipers warrior. Both aren’t as effective as their power counterparts imo, though with vipers rev it might be worth revisiting after the balance patch. Vipers engi should also technically work, though I will admit I have never tried it.
The trait definitely needs to be toned down in WvW. I don’t necessarily think that changing it back to the 1 bleed per chill is the way to go however. Personally I think reverting it to chill itself doing damage (at a lower value to what was previously) and then potentially giving it a boon corrupt on chill application (boon corrupt having a 8-10s icd).
In my opinion, the trait requires a nerf largely due to its ease of use and scale ability. Even players who have never played necro before and pick it up and have good fight impact by spamming their chill abilities. While this isn’t always an issue in and of itself, the issue is compounded by how there is no longer an upper limit for bleed stacks in WvW. It doesn’t matter if you take 1 necro and 10 necros, each one is able to have the same amount of impact on the fight without diminishing returns. It simply encourages class stacking which isn’t healthy for the game.
I love necro and I am a huge fan of condi necro in particular, but it is shocking to me that people try and defend the trait in its current form. I understand that when it is 1-2 necros there is counterplay for small groups, but more and more I’m seeing groups of 10 running 4+ necros with the rest support. The reward for its ease of use and the lack of diminishing returns from stacking necros is unacceptable and is unhealthy balancing to the game.
Forum bug woo.
people consider the lowest mobility class in the game as op at roaming. lul.
I think that people overrate mobility as a factor while roaming. Does it mean you die less, definitely, but there are two different views for how to determine if a class is op. Some people view mobility and ability to dictate fights through that mobility (along with other class mechanics) as major factors towards something being op. Others (and for disclosure this is how I gauge if something is op) view mobility as less of a factor and instead focus on the ability for a class to win fights that they largely shouldn’t be able to win if they were using another class.
If you subscribe to the first viewpoint, your view of “op” classes probably ranks warrior and thief towards the top. For the second viewpoint it switches to condi necro and condi mesmer.
After roaming on necro for a long time, I think it is safe to consider it op in its current state. There are going to be fights you simply aren’t able to win if the opponents play around you well enough, but there will be times where you would not have been able to win that fight with any other spec or build. When I could run into a group of 5 and if they don’t react in time then 3 or 4 are down in 10 seconds then there is something op about that spec.
Necromancer while solo roaming isn’t always a pleasant experience no matter what build you run. Every necro build will rely on team support to some degree, though once you get good at positioning you don’t require it so much.
If you are only looking for a build that is strong while solo/small group roaming, this would probably be close to the best Build 1
You can always run an alternate variant such as this one, Build 1 Shouts
Those are probably the strongest condi builds out there currently for necro. Additionally you can go with a more dps variant of those such as; Build 1 DPS/Shouts
I personally dislike those builds and run my own variant of them (though I acknowledge that the above builds are definitely stronger). Mainly I use Vipers/Carrion gear so I have more of a hybrid damage source.
Here are my three main builds I use;
Builds:
GS Standard: https://goo.gl/mfHAUw
Axe Standard: https://goo.gl/NvZbzz
Signet: https://goo.gl/0TpLlu
I will also toss in a shameless plug to my Youtube since it largely exclusively features necro solo/small group roaming. Youtube
reaper just need a CD on chill apply bleed trait like 5second CD an reaper fine
This. When one toon can stack 27 bleeds on you in a couple seconds, it needs tuning down a bit. Especially when combined with other toons that can throw chill around, bleed on chill just wrecks, then epi and it’s all over.
I’d make it around 8 seconds. One simple change would bring them back in line. No need to slaughter the entire class to fix the issue.
Epidemic needs to be nerfed to a max of 3 stacks of each condi, which would still make it ten times more effective than a staff ele’s meteor shower!
Suggestions of adding a cd to deathly chill are clearly made by players who have no idea how to properly balance. The better option is to either nerf to 2stacks of bleed or revert it back to chill itself doing damage in WvW only (this might be better to discourage simple reaper stacking like we see now). Adding a cd would gut the trait and make it not worth taking.
Epidemic already took a relatively large nerf already. I doubt it deserves another nerf currently, and your suggestion is laughable.
Reapers need a nerf currently in WvW. That is coming from someone who really enjoys playing reaper.
Hi everyone, I made another commentary video of some recent roaming on my viper necro builds. This one is a mixture of commentary and non-commentary clips. Hope you guys enjoy. All three builds in the video are in the description.
snip
Considering the Chilling Death change did not apply to sPvP, I’m not really sure why you’re having issues there. I would say your mistake is eating a full DS5 and DS4 and thinking you should be fine afterwards. Your comment that axe 2 by itself can stack 25 stacks of bleed is downright laughable though. Necros suffer in sPvP due to how easy it is to train them down if they get isolated.
Deathly chill in WvW deserves another look though. The trait is a bit overtuned currently, especially since it doesn’t require a lot of active play on the necros part to get full benefit from it. I don’t believe that adding an icd to the trait is the answer though.
Video 9 is now up, apologies for the horrible title.
Just noticed the build was showing valk weapons but i have in fact zerker ones. Fixed that. But i might try that scrapper runes after my next vid. Will make one with packs runes before
scrapper s r the ones with damage reduced right?
Yeah they are the power/toughness and -7% dmg when in a range threshold.
Solid video. Have you tried out scrapper runes and then instead of the prec utility food using the +100vit +%freq utility? If you were concerned about prec you could always take marauder weapons instead of straight valk.
Nah he’s making a comment that roamers/wvwers on NA use conditions builds more than roamers on EU in general. Not just your own gameplay.
would you say Necro is in a good spot, pve and pvp wise?
Not much loved in raiding, though it is absolutely capable of raiding effectively and performs reasonably well. Otherwise, yes.
While I’m more experienced with WvW this is my assessment as well. WvW necro will always be viable in larger scales due to the boon corrupt aspect and small scale the DPS and cleave is extremely powerful. Necro is in a good spot there (though I’d favor a nerf to deathly chill to bring it back to a healthier level).
Always cool to watch ur vids m8. I like this variation only wish healling signet would work inaide shroud and better because right now its meh.
Thanks! Yeah I agree though idk if making the passive work through shroud would be the best solution. Namely cause they’d have to change entirely how signets interact with shroud. I think maybe shorter base CD on the signet itself would be nice or a cast time reduction to make it 3/4s cast instead of the current cast time of a year.
Vol 8 is now out. This time pretty much exclusively using the signet variant of my viper reaper build. Hope you all enjoy.
So awesome to hear your thoughts as you fight, that you are not just random button pushing but you have a very calculated method for taking people down. I have also wondered why you hardly ever stomp, but now I realize its because they make really good rallybots if someone else joins in.
I would love to see another one of these after you slam a couple of red-bulls
Thanks
.
Haha thats true with the downstates to some extent. My main reason is that I can enough cleave to cleave through people trying to rez so I try and tempt people to rez cause then I can just light them all up with my cleave usually.
The next one of these I’ll be more awake for I promise haha.
Good video man. I think the only clip that wasn’t up to the quality of the other clips was the condi mes solo at the sentry.
Good gameplay with the combos. A small change would be to stow weapon right after you cast GS5, since the skill actually does its full effect without the cast time. That allows for either a gravedigger or a chilled to the bone to hit perfectly without any time to really react (unless they have a stunbreak of course).
Roaming exists on both EU and NA. You just have to accept the downside of roaming is some nights it won’t be good and there isn’t a lot you can do about it. But it largely evens out and you’ll get good fights, you just need to persevere and not quit if the roaming is bad for a bit.
If the servers are similar to NA usually T3 or lower is the best bet for consistent roaming.
Relatively simple/easy to come up with build without any real twists and some suboptimal sigil and rune choices.
I don’t agree with the assessment that reaper utilities only have effectiveness against certain classes. Plague signet is a stun break with additional benefits against other condi specs. CPC is a projectile block while also creating an area of denial. Rise! gives great direct damage mitigation and also blocks projectiles and eats up potential cleave. Suffer! is a DPS boost along with a great kiting tool and also transfers conditions. I’d say necro has good options for utilities for a genericly useful build.
Deathly chill deserves to be changed from its current state in WvW. You say reaper isn’t op while roaming, I would argue it is right on the line of op. While you can kite one reaper which helps balance it while solo roaming, there is no disadvantage for a roaming group to take a second necro and there isn’t any DPS dropoff. That is an issue. Taking two necros in a group of five with some support makes a borderline unkillable group with insane damage due to the chill change.
My vote would be to make it back to something similar to how it was at the launch of HoT where chill does damage itself. That way simply stacking more chillmancers isn’t always the most optimal and has a damage trade-off.
(edited by Helly.2597)
Nice video. Gonna have to give that build spin. I have yet to try the bleeds thing since teh patch.
It is pretty disgusting. Either the GS build that I use in previous videos or the axe build works well. The signet build is still under testing but its powerful as well. You just need to have good LF management and it works out.
Its good to hear your thoughts in some situations. Nice vid
Thanks!
Hello everyone. I decided to make a commentary video from some recent fights I’ve had in WvW while roaming. I know it isn’t the best commentary, but just talked through some thoughts about the fights I had. Hope you all enjoy.
