Lead, Follow, or get the hell out of my way.
This is my opinion, but I think Cantha will make a return. But it probably won’t return until the 2nd or 3rd expansion.
If you look at the map of Tyria(continent), we have a lot of the map left to open up. I honestly think they will open these areas up in the next expansion(s). It could be done in one expansion but that would require opening some of it up ahead of time in the living story story line.(I think the living story is going to be more then one story line as time goes along. Allows the developers some really nice options to add content without having to have an expansion) If they add to the map without an expansion then I think one of the other continents will be in the 2nd expansion.
I also think Elona will be the first opened up since we already have more information about the dragon in the crystal desert and about the happenings in Elona from the Order of Whispers. So this would push Cantha to the third expansion.
I really hope if makes its way back to Guild Wars but I think in the near future we should expect to see the Tyria map opened up before we head off somewhere else.
I think the daily’s add some more flavor for us that are not overly pursuing ascended items. I play a couple of hours each evening and then on the weekends when I am not doing something with my kids. I also had to take a 3 month break for a family emergency. So I missed November, December and January for the most part. I look at what my daily’s are each day and then I go play either my 80 ele or one of my alts. The daily doesn’t decide what I play but I like to know what I am doing. Most of the time I accomplish the daily in about 30 minutes doing the normal stuff I would through exploring and finishing zones.
When I came back I thought I was so far behind, I didn’t know about the ascended items and thought I was going to have to grind, but the daily’s gave me a path so I could play my way and still make progress and now I don’t feel behind. (Well still trying to find a group so I can go to fractuls for the first time). I think with the new changes coming up at the end of the month, the dailys are going to get a lot more interesting and will help everyone fit the dailys into their playing style.
Filled out for you.
Also I would like to see the results of the survey was they are completed.
This is a really good idea, but why not do it like the ranger pet panel. That way all your mini pets are viewable from the bank and you could pick which one you wanted out. Since something like this is already used for the ranger pets I wouldn’t think it would be to hard to implement for mini pets. Thoughts?
Wow, the opinions on this subject are so wide that I don’t think an alternative will ever be found.
But as for my opinion, I love this game. I play for fun and relaxation. But there are items in this game that I want. I want a legendary weapon. I stop by the Mystic Forge every once in a while if I am by it and drop some items in there. I don’t buy them, just from me playing the game. To me everything is fine. If it takes me more time to get one then it takes more time. The game is fun, that is all that matters. Other games out there have made getting items so important that people don’t slow down and enjoy everything else. It is who can get it the fastest, or who can have the most.
I am just going to sit back, laugh at everyone complaining, and enjoy a really good game. Cheers
Wow, just reading this post makes me crazy. I played in the betas and start at release. I had to take a break from paying at the beginning of November and didn’t start back up until a few weeks ago. I learned I missed a lot. In the weeks I have been back, I thought I was going to be way behind. The truth is I am not, I don’t feel like I am having to catch up. In other MMO’s I might be hurting finding groups or doing things which I am not in GW2. I don’t think any thing they added or took away changed the game. The game is still a lot of fun to play, I still don’t feel like I am grinding to do anything. Well write more later at work and have to log before I finished this.
Yeah a test server would be nice. When I played DAoC I actually played on Pendragon a lot of the time because it was quiet. That was the test server. The other nice thing is you could copy your account over there for testing and it wouldn’t affect your normal server at all. This would be a good idea for GW2
After thinking about my earlier post, I have some other thoughts on what I said.
First I should say a RARE LARGE boss that drops a chest. But as discussed earlier in this thread, the chest would have to be unique, as some chest run off the same loot table.
But do any of the RARE LARGE bosses have anything to do lore wise with a staff like this. I can’t answer that question without more research.
I was thinking about this. What if the LARGE boss chest actually means a LARGE boss that drops a chest. I know it is a play on words but just trying to see if this could be something to think about. I think another thing in lore to think about is who associated with gargoyles. Was there a person or creature that used a staff that was associated with them.
I think at some point in time they will bring Cantha into the GW2 universe. They have established the lore to support going there once the sea route is opened up. I also think the first couple expansion will involve finishing opening up the continent we are on and crossing the crystal desert into Eloina. This makes the most sense, especially since the deep sea dragon just popped up in recent history. Just my opinion.
