I see all the complaints about new permanent content. You know what is funny. There are some in the community, I don’t have numbers and only know of the ones I talk to but with how large the community is I assume there is more, really enjoy the way the content is done. There is something going on all the time when the LS is going.
Some of the LS stuff I don’t like, some I do, but there is always something going on and it is fresh. They go in and add new permanent content and within a month it is stale and been done. That is what permanent content gives us, something to go stale. Then you know what happens, all of you that complain about wanting new permanent content come right back here and do it is again.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I would like to see new zones, some new dungeons that stay in game, but the point I made above is going to be the same. I hope they do add some permanent content in the second LS, I hope things change with the existing zones, but don’t say drop the LS, cause the moment they do that, then we have long periods with stale content while we wait.
You can not equip two of the same rings as the ring itself is unique. The infusion is an after thought and doesn’t play into the rings themselves.
now you could get the rings with different infusion slots (Ring of Red Death and Crystilliane Band) and then craft the Omni infusions which go into any slot. Then you could have the mighty and precision both.
Man this thread. I have read through the whole thing, and some of the stuff said wow. There is nothing you can do to help people get better if they don’t want to or the can’t.
I am lucky to have a very good guild. I have a lot of people in there I would consider good friends. But with that said, there are a few of these friends that play the bad builds, or the bad style as has been said in the post. There are some that will go down on every dungeon boss or in these events. Guess what I take them with me all the time, I take them with me on the big LS events, and I defend them in map chat when kitten hole start ragging on stuff that happen with their elitist attitude.
I know some players just can’t get any better. I know some that I play with are older, their reflexes slower, so guess what they did, they found a build to play with that helps them stay alive and have fun. Maybe they can’t make the dodge like they are supposed to, so what, they are having fun. THis is a game, and everyone is going to have a different opinion about what is fun for them.
No body should be required to have a certain build or anything else. Find what works best for you and go with it. The nice thing about my guild is we don’t ever worry about anything that is going on in this thread. Everyone is included in what we do, everyone is more the willing to go and help when needed. We dont’ ever have to pug anything and deal with kittens.
tldr: There is nothing that can be done to help players that either don’t want to get better, or they just can’t get any better.
by this time, GW1 has 3 chapters released and Anet is hyped up about EotN, till now GW2 doesn’t even come close to one chapter worth of content……
ill wait and see but it doesn’t look good, the only thing that really lures me back is ether a big expansion or new places unlocked, hopefully without making achievements the main attraction but instead making the story (and no DPS or zerg fest) more important.
Sorry to say they did not have 3 chapters released. They had only added Cantha by this time. With Nightfall still months away. I do see your point about having added more content, but putting false information doesn’t help the argument.
P.S. forums are not a vocal minority….that is the common excuse of people that deson t want to accept ideas different from their being the real minority.
So you are claiming that more than 1,75 million people uses these forums?
Because if not, then it is not a majority. The vast majority of the posts made here are from the same maybe 50 posters, while in the game I see new players more or less daily, which would amount to WAY more people than those 50 of us posting on the forums.
I have to agree with this post. I have been using the forums from the beginning. Almost every negative thread ends up with the same people bashing the game. I belong to a medium sized guild, about 100 people. I can say that out of that 100, 80 usually enjoy the new content. Now that 80 people changes between each release so it doesn’t stay the same. So to say the forums isn’t a Vocal minority is to be blind to the amount of people that play this game as a whole.
@Fror,
I understand you problem here, my question to you is this. If your in game, have your game set to server time and all announcements use server time, wouldn’t it be just as easy for you to reference this compared to your local time.
I don’t understand the difference between using UTC over server time. The amount of time to figure out your local time from that would be the same. I can say, being in the US, and not having international correspondence that I do, I have never had a need to learn UTC. I have had to learn the 4 main timezones for the US and the conversions for those. So you have a large player base here in the US that would have no idea the UTC stuff. But server time is universal to everyone that plays the game. It doesn’t change. Annoucements are in this time, so how can you not use server time, since you can look at your clock and see your local time vs server time.
There is. There storylines and your storyline will merge at some point and everything will be close to the same after that. I think it is around lvl 30 or something close to that if I remember correctly. You can jump on the wiki and look up the storylines for each race and see where they start being together.
But as someone stated above. All zones are open to all classes. If you want to get 100% map completion, you will have to go to those zones at some point. Me and my friends used to create a new toon, any race, and then we would pick one starter zone to start in and play through it and then move to another so we could play together more often.
Just so everyone knows, if I am online I should be able to fill in anytime. Just send me a message with the time and I will let you know if I am available. I am usually able to play anytime on the weekends.
Well another one of THESE posts. I thought I had finally seen the last of these. Well I will give my opinion since thread is here.
I am a casual player. I don’t have the time to play like I did when I was younger and didn’t have a family. I also don’t have the money to buy my way through either. Just getting that out of the way. I actually enjoy having some progression in this game. It gives me something to work towards while playing. But I don’t understand where everyone comes up with this grind.
I have played many games that had grind, what it takes to get ascended in this game is not a grind unless you make it a grind. I enjoy fighting world boss events and temples, I run dungeons and fractals almost every night because it is what I enjoy the most. I don’t run with pugs and do almost everything with my friends in my guild. I take days off here and there to spend time with my family doing other fun stuff. I have one toon almost totally outfitted with ascended and two other ones with weapons and trinkets. I don’t feel I grinded for any of it. I am in no hurry to get it. There is nothing in this game that requires it unless your doing really high level fractals and even then it should only require the weapons.
So where is this grind you speak of. I don’t see it. I have gotten all my mats from playing the game the way I want to play it and until they add content that requires it, then there is no reason to hurry and get it, which would cause a grind. If you feel there is a grind then it is a self imposed grind not one that is there naturally like in so many other games.
As for VP, a little VP isn’t a bad thing. YOu will never have a successful MMO without a little VP. The game won’t be able to support itself. I think GW2 does a good balance. I wish they would bring in more of the armor skins from GW1 which you had to farm dungeons for or bosses, but that is a different story. The OP brought GW1 up in his post, you know it had a lot of grind to it, getting the weapon drop you wanted, or gathering the mats to make one of the armors. Those were grinds but since it was a grind for something that doesn’t matter everyone looks past them. Currently ascended doesn’t matter except for one area of the game, so I think the “grind” for it isn’t bad.
Now talking about some other modes of GW2, WvW the ascended might make a dent but nothing mind blowing. I know I still get my butt handed to me out there in my ascended stuff if I am not paying really good attention. But the current META of zerg this and zerg that, it doesn’t really come down to anything other then luck, well maybe luck isn’t the right word but I can’t think of another right now. But the nice thing is they added ways for people who only play WvW to obtain ascended, so I don’t see how that changes much.
If you guys are ever short a person and need someone to fill in on a run while your doing this, please feel free to add me and I can fill in. I don’t mind a run taking a long time and would be willing to help with this.
When I need dragonite, I jump on the world meta train. Do the Karka Queen and two or three temples along with kitten and Jormag and it is an easy 300 dragonite a day if not more.
I will look for the post, but the devs have stated that Giver’s stats will not be added to ascended stats. Not sure of the reason. I was stated back in December if I remember correctly. Will edit this post as soon as I find the thread.
In regard of moveability and their healign signet, absolutely YES and also in regard of their Damage Blocking skilsl, which ttoally absurdly OP block way too much, even attacks in the back, when they are running away and basicalyl don#t defend themself.
Blocks definetely need to work like the mechanic of the Marionette Battle’s 1st Champion.
A Block Mechanic should only block attacks from a specific direction, they should never ever automatically block everything, regardless from where the attack came.
When the attack hit you from behind, then you are simpyl said defenseless there. period !! But the current ridiculous Block Mechanics turn the classes into a temporely brain AFK God Mode.Warrior Players should need to think twice, where and how they move their characters around, if they use their block skills, and should still receive damage, if they get attacked from a side, that is revealong a spot, where attacks simply can’t be blocked…
Warriors absolutly need to get slowed down. their Movement Speed Trait needs to get placed higher or should get moved into an Utility/Healing Skill, so that only Warriors that use the specific Healing/Utility SKill (that is not Healing Signet!!) will receive the permanent movement speed buff.
The Great Sword Skills need to get toned down in their Rang.
Skill #5 should not have a range of 1200 – instead only 600. That way it still has more range than a Heart Seeker, but wouldnt be so extreme superior op, especially considerign the too fast recharge time this skill has with the 20% GS skill recharge reducement that Warriors easily can get in the current GS meta build of Warriors that is like 90% used of all warriros in PvE/WvW.GS needs to get nerfed, other weapons like Sword, Shield, Mace and Axe could get a slight buff to make them more interesting over GS builds so that we see more build variety in Pve/WvW with Warriors.
The Range of the whirling sword attack of GS needs to get reduced to 450, it should have only the same range like a Heart Seeker.
ANet has to finally make Thiefs the most fastest class of all ,because thats whats their ROLE.Letting Warriors be in heavy armors alot more mobile and fast moving, than Thiefs, makes the whole design of Warriors look just ridiculous and – OP. Period.
I don’t know if your serious or not, but most warriors run Axe/Axe, Axe/Mace, or Axe/Sword as a weapon set, usually with a Greatsword in the other. The other weapons you talked about are already really good and on par with the greatsword. The Axe’s F1 skill does massive damage, the mace in the off-hand is great for knockdowns and vulnerability. Some of your statements don’t fit in with the currently way most warriors play.
Turtle is correct on this.
I don’t do WvW, but knew exactly what he was talking about. Versatile are just like the ones Moshari is talking about, except they can go in any slot. The current WvW infusions are bound to either an offensive slot or a defense slot where the versatile (Omni) infusion can go in any slot.
I currently am putting these (PvE ones) on my Warriors armor to increase his Power, which the normal infusions wouldn’t allow this since armor is a defensive infusion slot.
obviously nobody will admit to buying gold from goldsellers and will create a suitable cover story.
saying you got it flipping or from mystic forge or pure luck or dungeon grinding etc.
i take all such stories with a pinch of salt.
Cynical and jaded much? I report every gold seller that solicits. That kind of crap ruins the economy of the game. Some of us actually get more gold by either luck or working hard to make it. Most of my guildmates have money because we constantly do dungeons and flip on the TP. I would think most people who buy gold wouldn’t rear their heads on this thread.
nice cover
Seriously, you must be one of the most near sighted people around. There have been guides out there for months about how to flip on the TP, or how run the which dungeons path to get the most gold. There is also a group that harvest nodes all the time and sells the mats. There are a number of really good ways to make money in the game with a little work.
The way you are about this must mean you buy gold and don’t want any one to know it so you go around trying to accuse others of doing it,
Nice cover yourself.
Yaks Bend has a world boss train that starts pretty close to server reset. It will run through all the world boss and temple as they come available. I normally jump on it every once in a while to build up some dragonite. I did it last night and ended up with 160 dragonite ore in about 35mins, not to bad. I did the Karka Queen, Dwayna, Lyssa, Grenth, Fire Shaman, and kitten. Then I went off doing my own thing. Now the order of events doesn’t go in the same order, but the train always starts at the karka queen a little before reset.
I totally agree with this, even though I have almost all the story modes done between my 3 80s. But it would really helpful as I level up other toons to have the option of opening a dungeon instead of wasteing time doing story that I have already done.
But I also understand the reason behind it. The story modes tell I story, that while the same, is supposed to be for each toon as he explores the world. Which I agreed with until they made the account wallet, account fractals, and account WvW coming.
It would only make since to do that now with dungeon story modes.

Ticket: 237210
Hello Gaile,
Thank you for the response in regards to my ticket. While I understand that the ticket is still being reviewed, shouldn’t I have had at least a response from a person by day 4 to update me on the problem. That was the only reason I posted here is because I haven’t had a single response from a living person.
Also as stated above, if I have had a response I didn’t receive it. Which I know there have been problems in the past with the email provider I use. Any more information on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I was like a lot of you. I want to grind for skins and other items that don’t give me any advantage, but just look nice.
But I also try to look at things more openly then before. Ascended is what the top tier armor was in GW2. You had to grind certain areas to get the mats for it. Then you had it crafted. Ascended fits that role. Now that is all here, we will grind for the armor and then, ANET will start adding skins to be used with it. Like with Teq, they added skins, I think they will start doing this more as time goes along. I kinda like it. Now if they add another tier after this, that is when I will start being mad about it.
@Jheryn,
Time to give up, they have a different mindset to how these things are and nothing you say will change that.
It is like at my job. I get a request to have a database or application developed. I get the request, I research, and then I give a statement of intent to the *stakeholders of the project, which is my boss’s and the group requesting the project. This statement of intent is going to be my list of steps I will be going through and I timeline that I can try to shoot for. Now some of the steps will get done faster then I thought and some of the steps take a little longer, but the *stakeholders in the project understand this aspect of development, as long as the deadline is met then the other steps are ok.
Currently, we the players are the *stakeholders of this game. Since the game will have a life span that none of us can predict, the deadline is when the game dies. So the blog post that ANET uses to inform the players of their intent, should be looked at as such, a statement of intent, with a proposed timeline. But just like any other development project some things go quick some don’t. By looking at them producing a document for their *stakeholders, us the gamers, it is not advertising what they are doing it is stating what they are trying to do. Now does it bother me that they don’t get things done. Yes. Do I think they need to get better at researching their statement of intent to better reflect this. Yes. But I also understand what they are doing and look at though that perspective. In my eyes it has nothing to do with everyone definition of advertising since I don’t believe they were advertising anything.
Edit: I got ahead of myself and used the wrong term. Changed Shareholder to Stakeholder.
(edited by Hjorje.9453)
advertising (which is a guarantee or promise)
advertising. you keep using that word. i do not think it means what you think it means.
and neither does websters dictionary, either. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/advertising
I did not use the word ‘advertising’. I was quoting someone who did.
And your dictionary definition proves what I was saying. There were no paid ads or publications announcing the coming of some of the things ANet said they wanted to do 2013 and did not. Advertising is played out in the media. Many dev statements were not. Advertising is a publication of intent or release. In other words, a guarantee of the release of something.
There were plenty of commissioned artworks and ads for things they did do. Scarlet, The Queens Jubilee, The Bazaar of the Four Winds. All had ads for their content. Some of the things that people are complaining about here are merely things the devs SAID they would like to do in 2013.
Here is an expanded definition of ‘advertising’:
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/advertisingWhen a grocery store releases an ad that says they will have bananas on sale for X dollars per pound on certain dates, they must honor that. When a store employee says, “I would like to see bananas go for X dollars per pound on certain dates.” The store is not bound by the employees musings. Same rule applies here.
let’s….. take a looks here, shall we?
you said, multiple times, that advertising is, and i quote, “a guarantee or promise” the dictionary defines it as “the act of calling attention to something, especially through the media” not a guarantee or promise, just calling attention to something. the two are nowhere even in the same neighborhood as each other.
now, let’s take it one step further. things like blogs, facebook and twitter are referred to as social media sites. the internet as a whole is a form of the media. meaning, anything an arenanet employee writes on one of those, somewhere they know for a fact that many people will be reading, is indeed calling attention to something through the media. writing things into their own wiki page would also be considered advertising, because they’re posting it there as a representative of their company.
let’s apply this to to the topic. did they promise anything? no. did they call attention to something, especially through the media? yes. did they deliver on what they called attention to? not even remotely. is this a reoccurring pattern with them? yes. are there always people who try to redefine the english language and twist logic to make excuse after excuse for why Anet consistently fails to deliver on what they advertise? yes.
You are looking at what Jheryn has been saying from the wrong direction. Yes using the internet to state something could be a form of advertising. But from and development stand point, ANET was making a statement of intent about what they was working on. Which in my view is not advertising the features, but letting the community know this is what we are working on and hoping to have it in game by the end of the year.
If you look at the blog post that the OP referenced, they actually implemented most of the items they listed, we got official responses to some they would be postponed until 2014. Jheryn has been arguing in this thread that advistising was not the proper word to be used to describe what ANET posted, which it isn’t, but as you stated in your post it could be assumed it was because they was using a type of media to do it. But the word advertising on this thread wasn’t start by Jheryn, he was responding to another poster that was using the word. So I don’t see how anyone was trying to redefine the English language here, just like how I view what they wrote as a statement of intent from a development stand point. But I see things this way since I am a developer also (not games). I see advertising as what stores to do sell products or tell us about sells. The blog post in question was made for the GW2 community to give us an idea of what is coming.
I could support an idea like this. I think this would be really good in PvE and WvW. In PvE when running guild missions, sometimes you run into other guilds doing the same, it would be nice to figure out who is in charge to coordinate things with so you don’t step on each others toes.
But I would want the options to turn it off also.
Remember the chance at an ascended drop is so rare you might as well count it nonexistent.
I have gotten 4 ascended weapon box drops since the fractured update. While rare they are not nonexistent. I have also seen at least 10 or 12 more boxes drop in some of the groups or guildies I am around.
Now this isn’t the best way to obtain anything because there is no guarantee that the stats you want will drop any time soon, but the boxes are dropping at a decent rate.
On a side note, I thought ascended armor boxes were supposed to be in the loot tables now, was this something that didn’t get added. I haven’t seen one yet, so I assume it is something coming in the future.

Ticket: 237210
Hello Gaile,
It is the third day since I submitted my ticket (Actually probably a few hours earlier the a full 72). I still haven’t received a human response to the ticket. I received the automated response when submitting my ticket and that is the last response I received. I do have a yahoo email address, and this is where my concern is coming from that I am missing the responses since it doesn’t take this long in the past.
A review of my problem. I crafted my Ascended Gauntlets 3 nights ago. I went to transmute the current skin I had (primeval skin) onto the Ascended Gauntlets, which I screwed up. Since it was my own fault for being in a hurry I decided to purchase a transmutation splitter from the Gem Store to fix my issue. It didn’t work. When I went to use the splitter, it would only split the Ruby Orb off of the gauntlets, it wouldn’t split so I could get my Primeval skin back, and this is the reason I submitted a ticket.
I am only requesting the Primeval Gauntlet skin back so I can transmute it over the ascended Gauntlets to keep my look, if that is not possible, could I at least have my 300 gems back for an item that didn’t work. Thank you.
Side Note: On a side note, I did respond to the automated ticket I received after 24 hours without and response to give an alternate email address in case I wasn’t receiving the response from the team. Still no response.

If you put a versatile infusion on an ascended ring, do you lose that if you infuse it?
Yes, when you infuse a ring it becomes Account Bound again and loses all infusions on them whether that be a versatile, fine, or Omni infusion.
Yes, all rings work like this. Also as you level up in fractals, you will have a chance for a ring to drop already infused so you won’t need to use the mystic forge to infuse it.
But it is the same recipe to infuse any ring, and they all will get the Agony Infusion Slot added to it, instead of the the old way where it get +5 Agony Resist.
This was changed in the Fractured Update. Previously when you infused the ring you got the +5 on it.
Now when you infuse the ring it give you the extra Agony Infusion Slot to use the +1 Infusions that drop in fractals. This will allow the ring to have all the way up to +30 agony resist added to it. You up level the +1 infusions with an artificer to the level you require and then just put it on your ring.
@Ethics, LOL, that is very true.
As this thread has shown, there are going to be multiple views on anything. I read the blog post that was quote in the OP, and I see a statement of intent. I also see that most of what was posted in there has been implemented or we have been given official responses regarding some of it being pushed back. Whether you like it or not, ANET did a decent job of following through.
It is like movies. I have seen movies I want to see have a release date posted. I mark my calendar to go see this movie. Then the studio has to push the date back for whatever reason. Now they Advertised, Said, Promised, or whatever word you choose to believe here, but I never see the backlash I as see on game forums when a Game developer says something but it doesn’t come through as planned. For the life I me I don’t understand the thinking here.
Maybe I am just more patient or have a different mindset then some of the other here. There are many things in this game that I don’t like, would like to see implemented and so forth. This thread talks about what ANET would like to get implemented in game in 2013. For the most part they did. For this I don’t understand the blow back by a lot of you.
As for this discussion, I think it has run its course for me, I have stated my opinion on the topic and all that is left is for us to argue back and forth of our different logics for interpreting ANET blogs post the way we did and why we each feel differently about it. But thank you for a good discussion.
(edited by Moderator)
I try, but as you probably know the forums can bring the worse out in us.
While I do agree with you that a reader could be lead to believing it would be done in 2013 (which if it is any conselation, I was really looking forward to all of it also), as I stated above the development process always has the ability to find something so far out there no one thought it type of problem creap up.
As to my misinterpretation, this could also be stated about the “Looking Ahead: Guild Wars in 2013” blog post. I try when writing on here to make sure I put things as clear and dumbed down as possible so more people will actually understand what I am trying to convey. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t. At least we was able to have a good discussion on the subject.
I did read your whole post. I choose that statement because of the way you post was written. If you meant it another way it should have been clearer.
But I see statements made by ANET through a different thinking process. I am a developer also, not games but database and database applications, so when I see a statement of intent, I understand what they are talking about. They never gave us any fixed dates for any of the planned content. They stated they would like it to be ready in this quarter or that quarter. But when developing something, the more moving parts you have, the longer a planned objection can take because something not forseen comes up you need to work out.
Based on us getting the statements in 2013, I am willing to bet everything in that statement will be introduced in 2014. I feel they did a good job of putting out certain content from their statements and can see the rest coming sooner rather then later.
And as to my statement about not arguing. I have been a forum poster since the start of the game. Everyone has their opinion, but on this forum there is no middle ground. It is getting to the point that even stating an opposite opinion is going to lead to very good feedback or even finding middle ground.
One issue is they already got their money through sales
This statement right here is where the posters mind set is wrong. They got money for the game we bought back last year. Guess what we got our money’s worth, and they got our money. The nice thing is they are still releasing content to us after that. If that statement is correct above, then they shouldn’t have to release any thing to us. They could just let us play the game we bought, without adding anything after the intial release, correct?
(edited by Moderator)
How does spending money have anything to do with playing the game. Your not in the game to find out how things are. You are here on the forums, which is usually negative to begin with, to find things out. I don’t see how that works. To me, playing the game gives you the information about how the game is, not coming here reading about when people have a problem with parts of the game. Very narrow minded in my opinion.
Subscription fees are a scam. True story, I paid over $2000 playing WoW and at the end of the day I have nothing. I cannot login, I cannot view my characters – turns out I was only renting the game (very expensive rent to boot!).
I don’t regret paying for something I enjoy. I do regret buying GW2 because they deviated from their original plan though. I just find it funny how people demand the world here when all they’ve paid was the box price and a few dollars in the gem store.
I also find it funny when people come here with their opinion and think it is fact. Just from reading you post here I can see you are one of those people.
Also, I see you talk about regretting buying GW2, do you still play it? If not then why are you posting on here. That is another thing I see on these forums are ex-players that don’t play the game and don’t bring anything to the discussion other then their disdain for the game.
I am also like Jheryn, I won’t pay a sub again. There is too much free content out there to waste money on a game. I played Everquest and DAoC for years. By the time I stopped playing DAoC I had a family and my priorties had changed. That is when I found GW1 and now I won’t go back to playing a sub based game.
Also, to me, in my opinion, I don’t think ANET made that many changes that deviated from their plan. I find most of the content enjoyable, non-grindy, and fun to play. I think they have given us a good game, not great but good, and have a lot of room to grow with it. I have long term goals to work towards and content to enjoy now. So it is a matter of “OPINION” on whether or not they deviated from their original plans.

Hi Gaile,
Would you please look into my ticket 150891:Existing Account Re-named accidentally. I submitted it on Sunday, 12/08/13 and have only heard from the initial routing team. My account Coco.8023 was accidentally renamed when erroneously tried to link a new account to the existing account. Now in game people see me as Coco.8023 sometimes and Skylark.1274 other times. I can only get in-game mail at Skylark.1274.
I just want to know if my main account name can be restored to Coco.8023.Regarding ticket 150891:Existing Account Re-named accidentally:
Support told me “about changing your display name. Making this change is not a service that we offer upon request.”
So does support consider this my problem because the system allowed me to accidentally change my original account name when registering a new account? My account keeps switching names between Coco.8023 and Skylark.1274. People in game are having trouble mailing and contacting me because of my account’s split personality. Respectfully, is there no resolution for this?
Gaile,
I am in the same guild with the above person. I can open my friends list, guild panel and when I highlight her in group with me and one second it will read Coco.8023 as the account name then I can close and reopen the panel and it will read Skylark.1274.
Her request isn’t to change her account name, it is to fix a problem that your system allowed to happen. She misunderstood when creating a second account and tried to link her main account with the second instead of linking with a GW1 account. During this time, my feeling is an entry was added to a DB table somewhere that now the system can’t decide which one is current. Her account name in game has always been Coco.8023.
In my opinion I think she found a hidden bug within your creating an account. This type of thing shouldn’t happen. Some where in the checks and balances it allowed this to happen and gave her two account names for a single account. This needs to be fixed.
@Hjorje and Yumiko Ishida.
Whoa, whoa, whoa guys!!! I think you two really are saying the same thing. I don’t Yumiko was against you Hjorje. I think he was supporting you. He wasn’t telling you (Hjorje) to keep your opinion to yourself, he was saying that about all the complainers. Re-read his reply to you. I think you will find he is supporting you.
The reason I like both of you is because you actually support the game and are the voice of reason and common sense much of the time. I hate to see a misunderstanding like this.
Though my first post was infracted… really now?
I went back to check your first post to see why it would be infracted, and they have deleted it or you did, my guess is they did. Now it makes my next post look really stupid because it doesn’t have a quote in it any more.
@Lampshade,
Speak up all you want, then the ones that use the forums like me, that are generally happy with the game can speak up too. I am looking forward to the next 4 updates. I am really looking forward to seeing how this ends and think it would be STUPID to cancel them like you said.
Also, if they had a public opinion poll in game I bet the results would surprise you. It would be closer to 50-50 on a lot of topics you thought it would be negative. That is the nature of games. They put a lot of different stuff in them to appeal to all different kinds of people. So the poll would either needs to be generalized to get the best feedback from the community.
I find threads like this very funny. The reason it is funny, is people claim the “community” is against this or that. Whats funny, is the majority of the community doesn’t come on the forums. The vocal minority of the community, the ones that are unhappy about something are the main ones that come here. So can’t base anything off of the forums. I know I like the LS stuff and I am actually looking forward to seeing the end of the Scarlet story.
Now I do hope they give us more backstory and the ending is a grand spectical. But we won’t know if it is until it gets here.
Now please stop stating the “community” doesn’t want any more LS, Scarlet, or whatever else, and just state that in “YOUR OPINION” you don’t think the LS or Scarlet needs to continue. Thank you for your time.
It actually may not be that long. You have 3 class at medium armor, 3 light, and 2 heavy. It would take that long if you used a different setup for each class, but there should be some overlap in there that cuts the time down.
Also ascended armor is supposed to be a long term thing, not a got to have it right now.
You cant reward the same those who invest 15 hours in the game with those who enter 30 min daily to just get the dailies done, is just not fair.
Actually they can and they will. That is how is game was designed. To where people that can only play a little bit at a time would not fall behind the ones that could play hours at a time every day.
It is totally fair because that is the way it has been since the game started, the way it was advertised to us. Where do you get off saying it is not fair. That can go both ways.
I didn’t say it was the same, I said it was modeled after it. Which it is. If you can’t see that then your blind.
The place where ANET messed it up was making it so casual friendly, which in turn created the zergvsdoor. Which I totally agree with you on that part. But the idea, the using siege, controlling the towers and keeps, and the general setup is still a lot like RvR just dumbed down.
Actually we are about 30min to 2 hours early for those threads to start I think.
We are on blackgate and I am not giving up my guild to play with people i do not know…..They would just treat me like crap….I have seen it happen in this community over and over….want the numbers but treat the ones that do not play to their specifications like crap.
You do know that you don’t have to give up your guild. You can be a part of 5 guilds. So you could play on your guild all the time, then when you go to WvW, you could switch your representation over to the WvW guild and go do you exploration.
Honestly man, is it really this hard for you understand what almost everyone on this thread has been saying to you, or are you just trolling all of us for the fun of it.
but other guilds would be my enemy in WvW so it would be full guilds against 2 people with us in the open cause we do not own a fort nor do we know how to own a fort or base….and would never be able to win a fight for one. So what would asking another guild to help do other then get us stomped. Its not the fact of dying its the fact of dying so many times that it becomes impossible to get the poi’s and waypoints and such. So why bother cause you would not be able to get them unless we actually took a base over which would be totally impossible since there is only two of us in our guild and other guilds would just wipe us all over the maps every time we stuck our heads out.
You are not understanding this. Everyone on your server is your ally. Everyone. The enemies come from 2 other servers different from yours. Find the players from your server, run around with them and you will get the POI’s and stuff out there. Help them take the tower to get the POI you need.
The degree of negativity here is unreal. I have played most MMO’s since EQ and the last time I had this kind of fun was back in DAoC – although GW2 would win for me even if DAoC was technically up to date. This is the best MMO I have ever played and also the best game in general I have ever played. In daoc I got one toon to max level but it took me a while. Since then GW2 is the first game where I have reached max level before being bored silly. I have always wanted to enjoy MMO’s as the concept is amazing. In GW2 I have 2 lvl 80, two lvl 70+ and a few alts between 20 and 30. GW2 is the first MMO where I actually enjoy the game itself and not just play for the next little virtual reward until I can’t be kitten d.
Sorry pal, stopped taking you seriously here… When you compared Guild Wars 2 with a milestone in MMO history…
You clearly never played DAOC… I mean, would really compare wuvwuv Player vs Door to Realm vs Realm?
Actually I would. because ANET hired the devs from Realm vs Realm to craft WvW. That was stated back during development, is was also stated they was modeling it after RvR. Now they made it so the more casual player could play it, so it is dumbed down a little, but it is modeled after it and if you can’t see that then you must not have played DAoC.
Mmm… nah. You’ll never prove anything to guys in internets. Especially to those who brightly dissent and demanding evidence. Nerves are more important
Dude you are really lost. You brought this topic up with your opinions stating them as facts. When asked for evidence to support you claims, you state that you don’t have to do that. Actually you do, otherwise everything you say is just your opinion.
Just like I have my opinion about the LS. Here is my statements about it. I enjoy the temporary content, that way things don’t get stale. It changes all the time and keeps me interested. Now sometimes I may not like the content and will go do other things, but it is something to look at and gives me more options.
Also if you basing you opinion on something from the forums, then that will be the wrong way to go about it. Forums are not a good source of determine the attitude of the gaming community. Most people, not all, you the forums when they have displeasure for something so there are going to be more negative post here then positive ones. So your argument and opinion don’t have anything to back them up until you show your sources.
So if someone attacks me I lose whats in my inventory too….now that is even worse then bullying….I need my loot I get in my inventory…..You can for sure count me out. Good thing I did not have anything when I went in there the first time those 10 people would have bled me dry. Did not say me specifically I mean solo’ers period. I just won’t go after Map completion anymore. cause I would never get it Cause WvW would be impossible to get the poi’s and such cause people would stop you everytime you tried after one. So why even try it would take a year just to finish 4 maps cause everytime you tried after a poi or way point or something you would never get it cause people would just stop you in yer tracks just to take your inventory.
Man, stop and read my post above, now to answer you on what you said here, no your loot in your inventory DOES NOT GET USED to give the enemy loot. IT IS YOURS.
@RuneCrimson,
Man I feel you pain, but I will try to explain this to you so you might understand. First, there is no cross server talking. You can only talk to the players on your server. That mean the other two servers your server is fighting can’t talk to you and you can’t talk to them. All they see is a red player. They don’t know if your there to explore, or going to try to kill them.
Second, the point of WvW is to kill the enemy and capture all the tower, keeps, and camps to build your servers score. If there is a red player running around whether by himself or in a group, it is wise to try to take him down since it helps your server.
I don’t think anyone is bullying you. I think you don’t have a good understanding of WvW. The players that are killing you are doing it for the above reason.
That is a funny post, considering that WvW is in the mist and not actually a part of Tyria. Now I can understand where the OP is coming from. I was strictly a PvE player for the longest time and never thought I would be able to complete exploring WvW, but I did, took a little time and effort but it got done. I actually enjoy going out there once I learned a little more about it.

Yes @pho. You will need to do the some thing as with the weapons. So if you want heavy, you will need to get armorsmith to 500
