This is why PUGS are not a good thing. Please find a guild and play dungeons with your guild. then you dont have such problems. I for one have turned off map chat on my account and all the better for it. I know there are some things in the works for guilds but one thing that we have implemented outside the game is a schedule calendar for our guild to sign up for weekly events. Thus far that has worked great for everything from Area completion runs to group events to dungeon runs. As I understand it eventually guilds will have something similar from the game itself that guilds can access from outside the game via a smart phone or something. We just took that concept and did it on our own and it really does help with large guilds that are spread out all over the world.

Here is the thing with Bans… and Why I say ban both parties of said gold buyer transactions.

1: a warn for ignorance of rules is just not enough, they will continue to break the rules if there is no consequence cause that is what cheaters do.

2: 1 warning is more then enough, if it comes to 2nd warning wipe the account before reactivating it. all gold all items all characters reset to NOTHING. this gives them the chance to play by the rules after 2 warnings now…

3: if the 3rd offense happens its time to Perm BAN the account and their physical address and CC number from participating in the game ever again…

People like to cheat and they are worthless in games. they do nothing but harm to the community at large with their exploits. makes it hard on everyone legitimately playing for their own efforts for what? Profits gained from illegal actions… too often you find some script kiddy bot that people set go off to work and then come home to see what they got. thats not playing. These worthless wastes of human flesh have no concern for the game as a whole or are they participating usefully in the community. All they are doing is collecting goods to sell or market and resetting to go to bed and rinse and repeat the next day.

the people that buy from these resellers are JUST AS GUILTY of rules violations as those selling. Every aspect of this game is traceable by design. when they email spam or email to send the money, however they do it… they leave tracks. both parties should be facing repercussions. once their business starts drying up and it becomes harder for them to steal other peoples accounts, and they start to have to pay each time they get banned they will be gone… I can not wait for that blessed day…

I guess I just come from a big enough guild that were all want to play together. Having 5 man teams feels like pre lions arch n00b experience to me compared to the original. its just a suggestion people that would easily sell, No need to get so out of wack from a suggestion.

Loot Drop Rate Decreasing With Time Spent Farming?

I’m not sure I get this mentality if you start seeing diminishing returns on activity go elsewhere… I dont see the problem unless your farming one boss for loot or a series of chests or whatever. Its not like there is not plenty of places to go to harvest or adventure to get items. Even mining or whatever just go to a new zone or switch characters. IO just do not get the aspect of gaming that farmers have. do they even have an ethic at all? I mean its a game not work.. play it dont farm it. but hey if thats what you enjoy by all means go ahead.. I just dont get it. you could be doing anything in this game but your wanting to rinse and repeat the same thing over and over and over again? That truly seems boring to me if thats all you do.

8 man team ability for say 600 gems or there bouts per character?

Either that or make it an achievable goal for Guilds? Something like tier 5 politics?

I for one would DEFINITELY purchase the ability to have an 8 man team as an character upgrade for each of my characters… Its a basic expected number at this point from GW1 and most of my Guilds groups are really struggling to shuffle people around on teams as we adventure through Tyria together. making it possible to have 2 teams of 8 instead of 3 teams of 5 (or in our case more then 3 teams) would be nice. Not only that but Dungeons become much more achievable with a team of 8 IMHO and its well worth the real money to be allowed to have that option.

Report every one of them… The Game economy depends on things being affordable. If the gold sellers gt there way and are allowed to market billions at low costs then market prices skyrocket for everyone. Why? cause at that point there is no incentive to keep prices lower, for the availability of cheap currency makes it possible for anyone to purchase a inflated priced item commonly. all this does is drive more business to ILLEGAL and Banable offensive activities to afford common goods. Eventually markets become ridiculous. where something like Leather or whatever sells for 100 gold or some insane amount like that. See right now you can set a price like that but no one in their right mind is going to buy it. Why would they when cheaper options are available. thus INFLATORs tend to find they can not sell things when they overprice. BUT if they all the sudden have infinite currency available to them, they can corner the market and buy the cheap stuff and only make available the expensive stuff. This is what drives UP prices across the board when these gold sellers get a foothold on the economy. Indeed THEY themselves profit from this type of thing because they often ae the ones trying to corner the markets and in turn sell currency for real money so you can buy it then turn around and give it right back to them to resell through the market… The sooner they are gone the better. BAN every one both Sellers and Buyers (every action in this game is traceable as designed for this very reason). This is NOT an activity anyone wants or needs in any game. you want to buy currency with real money fine do it the legitimate way through ArenaNet. Only then is it legitimate and not CHEATING everyone else…

I have to disagree on the OP on one critical thing that makes his entire posts irrational… there is plenty of Penalty in the game. Not the least of which is the cost to fix your armor, and if your in a prolonged battle (unless your carrying extra armor with you) your likely to be critically crippled for sucking so bad that you die a lot in that you have no armor to help you defeat the champion. The gold sinks in the game are designed to keep people from easily hoarding money forever making it impossible to Max lev armor on a low character and never have to do it again as you suggest. Indeed even in the original that was not the intention but became the norm, otherwise it would have been easy to just go to ascalon or lions arch and get your max armor there… It was nevr the intention to just become EASY mode even in the original. GW2 makes it balanced, but for PvP its all tehre for you all maxed out all available for you to try out the works… sure you earn runes and stuff in PvP but I think that added challenge it worth it for that part of the game. PvE however is what GW2 was evolved in. the dynamic events are suppose to be group events, your not suppose to just walk in a god among mere mortals and just touch them and their dead… if thats what you want your not a gamer your pathetic. If any game were that easy peope would Never Ever play it for more then a week… Keeping the challenge up is what makes the game fun. and the balance that it has designed into it makes all parts of PvE (non instanced) equally rewarding for all that participate even people that skip vst areas of the game to rush to 80 and find themselves bored now… give me a break. If you did every aspect of the game all 110 story lines possibilities and all races, and all hearts, and all skill points, and all dungeons, and every single area event by now and are bored, well then I agree you did it all.. if not you havent scratched the surface in the available experience of the game sorry you feel slighted by GW2 and its gameplay. I know many will not enjoy GW2 cause its challenging and some peopel just dont want to feel challenged when they play games, which is why there is so many cheaters in the world. That being said. The one good thing in GW2 for you is that your welcome to leave and come back at a later date and it costs you nothing. try doign that in other games and either the game will shut down on you and all is lost or your so far behind when you come back you have to pay for numerous DLC content udates in order to play new stuff on top of having to pay a subscription. at least in GW2 there is no subscription.

Oh and as to the hatred of the trading post and wanting your TRADE button back. well then I also have to disagree there. Use it, Slave it, Merch it, or sell it on the TP… if all else is not enough you have Guild sharing, and email.. The trade spam is thankfully NOT DESIRED HERE NOR NECESSARY.

As to the Gold seller emails, I report every one of them in hopes those accounts will be forever banned. I feel bad that so many turn out to be hacked accounts, BUT those gold sellers are not welcome in any game economy as all they do is make thing worse for markets, and worse for new people coming into the game… Keep them out of the acceptable mainstream and banning them by the thousands if necessary ensures a stable and effective market economy. Why? because you dont have people driving prices into the sky high inflations if no one is able to buy them… thus prices stay low for everyone and the market is bearing a real value… Indeed the USA could use a lesson in Economics 101 and halt the mass influx of counterfeit money though QE initiatives. all it does is devalue currency and drive all prices UP… this si what those Real money gold sellers EXCEL in doing to every game they get a foothold in… NOT HERE thank you very much!

transfer mining "exploiters"

I tend to agree that free transfers need to come to a halt soon, but PLEASE announce it ahead of time so that people will settle back into their homes as intended… then lock that at a specified date. I know why many people are hopping. Mostly is because of bugged missions or skill points… and they want it completed. Honestly I find that a legitimate reason for a hop BUT I would rather it be a guest function as intended not a full server transfer… That being said I know of a lot fo bug reports in all the final lev 70-80 areas that have little problems, I’m sure once those are fixed and the few in the 60-70 areas as well most of the hopping will stop.

Level 80 raids

Well I never played Wow but I have played other titles and they have teams of around 8… Including GW1. This rather small 5 player team restriction is very limiting for an ACTIVE guild with lots of people wanting to play together. Indeed it feels like being in beginning parts of a game from the original. Sure PvE is great with all the group and zone events and stuff going on we can see each other and play together on multiple teams keeping track of each other via Teamspeak… But when it comes to dungeons were being told to essentially use pugs only cause our group dynamic is not wanted for dungeons, and if your just a group of friends playing well your likely not going to be good enough to make it worth your time, so you have to discriminate players to roles to survive thus cutting friends and guild mates OUT of gameplay.

I know you can stack instances, we did so in beta as proof of concept. so its not a limitation of the instance engine to restrict to 5 player teams. How about a guild upgrade to allow for 8 player teams for such things? at least that would be equivalent to the original game max party sizes for PvE… I’m NOT asking for 50 man raids on these dungeons I know thats not wanted or even necessary, indeed that would be overkill for the most part… But Our guild from GW Prophecies was a tight knit group that played together regularly.. at least 8 of us if not 2 teams of 8 playing at the same time in the glory days of the original… Now GW2 is out and we’re running around fine with 3 or 4 teams of five from our guild until we hit a dungeon and suddenly were all split up and no one can do it well unless you have some cookie cutter team build. if you dont fit that your not welcome because not fitting that team build means its too costly to run the dungeon with friends and the end result reward is hardly worth the cost of completion for such a small team.

Not just that but we can also drop vaults and other things outside that we can not do inside. And the ability to drop a guild merchant would allow for this feature your asking for. Like we can a black lion merchant inside no problem, or a Golem banker, but not banners or vaults? Seems allowing such things would resolve that issue.

Personal opinion on instances

Why are we so limited in explorable mode to just 5 people teams? We did the story mode with little problems, Some basic repairs and team wipes yes but it was doable. Once we went in explorable mode things got ridiculous and ultimately it was more costly to repair our equipment then it was to reap rewards from playing. It was like nope sorry you may be leveled down to a lower level but these Champions are +2 or 3 and have triple the HP as normal, not to mention the respawning adds being Veteran level if not in name in ability. I like so much in this game, but I have to say the official dungeons are a disappointment that the experience / reward ratio is so SMALL relevantly.. I’ll give you an example. The Flame temple is NOT a dungoen its a mini dungoen world event. its not too hard but the final Champion boss is very difficult with a team of 5 only. If you manage to defeat him the reward is hardly worth the cost fo the damages done to achieve it. BUT here is the thing, we can have multiple teams in there and then it becomes worth it. 2 teams or 3 teams of 5 can easily take down the end boss champion and make the reward worth it. In instance dungoens (during explorable mode at the very least) we can’t bring more teams with us. Or at least yet I should say… I cant afford the squad commander book yet, (Who can?) but if that allows for team expansion to 10 or 15 players as i expect it does… then the rewards become worth trying to have a go again cause the teams will be more able to take the fight to them rather then death wiping through a instance. That being said I have not sen anyone doing this yet? is this allowed? Is it recommended? to have the squad commander book for at least 1 person in a guild so they can form up such groups for dungeons? Or is it strictly useless for such things in PvE and dont bother wasting the money to get it for this?

Or at the very least allow Guilds to drop resources we made inside the instance where WE can use them without having to rezone outside to use what we dropped that everyone is leeching off of.
