We had 3 memser in group so it wasnt much of a problem once we found him. we just pulled him off. but without mesmer it would have been near impossible to get him off.

So I am going to post the screen shots of the player doing this but im not sure if it might be just creative play or is against the rules?. But my guild was tying to cap Bluevale Refuge in Enemies Borderland. After killing all npcs and players we still couldnt cap. After searching for a bit we discovered a mesmer sitting on top on the building inside of the circle. We couldnt discover how he got on top and was curious if there is a way to do it so we can know in the future thanks.
I main a Ranger and a Mesmer. That being said.
They nerfed Mesmer Phantoms so that the berserker couldnt be used on top of walls when no LOS because people complained. They should do the same for every class.
Ranger’s Guard ability.
Ele’s multiple abilites.
Any other class that doesnt require LOS.
Doesnt matter if class is OP or UP. Should be a consistent rule.
Just my 2 cents but wont kill me if noting is changed, Ill just deal with it.

can also say that this happened to me in tourneys. Phantoms did nothing and clones did nothing and were without armor. A very serious bug indeed
Same here. The whole match my phantoms and clones would spawn and do nothing. Nothing at all. Clones had no armor and did nothing. Phantoms just did nothing. Horrible bug.
Class balance philosophies
We normally try to employ metered and controlled balance changes with each pass, rather than huge reductions or improvements to classes. We want to get all classes on the same playing field, and we want to avoid “whack-a-mole” style balance. HUGH increases and HUGE decreases lead to meta instability, and thusly, we try to make multiple small tweaks rather than putting in massive changes that we have to later correct. (reword this section)
When designing and balancing the classes, we try to make sure that class roles and identities stay intact. So, in doing so, we make sure that there are rules and boundaries outlining the capabilities and weaknesses of each class.
Warrior
We want the Warrior to be capable of good melee damage in a sturdy body. They can still do some decent damage at range, but they aren’t as good at it as the Ranger (with their pet). They have a hard time taking enemy boons down, and instead, have to just go through them with raw force. They may have a hard time with enemy conditions, and may need to ask for ally help in order to keep themselves free of hampering conditions.
1. What do you all think about their Philosophy and actual game play when it comes to range dps?
2. Have you experienced that the Ranger has better range dps in game then warrior?
-In Spvp?
-In WvW?
-In Dungeons?
3. Do you feel that class fixes/buffs/nerfs since release have followed with this guiding philosophy?
Btw, I love my ranger(i play a trap/torch build) so this is not a qq thread(so please try to leave it at the door). I just saw this Dev post and wanted to get the communities thoughts on the matter.

Just had a tourney match where me and a guildie could not switch weapons. We could not even unequip any we already had on. I was rocking Axe/warhorn for the runspeed to start the match on my ranger, could not equip my torch that i had in my bag the whole match.
Actually has now happened in two matches in a row.
My questions is why our phantoms dont even use up the block on our target? The phantom fails to summon goes on full cool down but the aegis/block is not burned. Do other classes have this issue? Or did they not even think this nerf through all the way?
Also, why is the Iduelist and the Warden not considered a channel attack? Shouldnt they hit the target with the block up and keep attacking? If they are not changed back, then all channel attacks should be interrupted if they attack a target that has block up.(or is this already the case for some classes?) Why should mesmer be the only class that has channeled attacks follow different rules?
Does ele dragon tooth fail to appear and hit target if target has block up? (just curious as i dont know for sure).
also my Blue Moa shows in tool tip that he provides a 4.5 second protection, but it seems to only be a little less then 3ish ?
So i have been trying to make a ranger build with as much protection up as possible.
I tried to mix and match 3 sets of Runes at 2 apiece.
Grove 2 piece gives 15% increase to protection duration
Earth 2 piece gives 15% increase to protection duration
Monk 2 piece goves 10% increase to all boons
I also spent 30 points in the trait line that increases boon duration for another 30% increase to boons
So do all of these stack? If not, then what happens?
Do i really have 70% increase to protection?
My simple tests seem to show only that the 30% from trait line is affecting my protection boon.
Thanks for any help in understanding how this works.
So why is mesmer the only class that has this problem? They either did not think this change through or it is a bug. Either way im kinda frustrated.
I am not talking about LOS. Lots of threads already about that.
Im talking about how are phantoms are not created if our target has a block up. Does the block get used when our phantom goes on cd without it appearing
As title asks. Since phantoms are no longer created at all does our target lose ageis? Or do we waste a cool down and not even burn their block?
Also just curios on why volley attacks can hit somebody that has block and are not interrupted. Shouldnt iduelist and warden be considered a volly attack?
So i have mained a mesmer since the first beta and have seen the progression of the class. . It seems that the last couple of changes have been in favor of the shatter builds. I have always played my mesmer as a class that hides in clones using invisibility out the wazoo. And to be honest, most of the mesmer(well the good ones) in tourneys all seemed to run the shatter builds as they were great for on point fighting.
To be honest my guildies would of rathered faced my build then the shatter builds. (again talking touneys). They always asked me to spec that way, but to me it just seems like a boring play style.
With the new changes it was a pretty large nerf to the dps phantom playstyle. I will of course change and find a new way to play but hope that i wont be forced into a shatter heavy build as that isnt the way i wish to play my mesmer.
new changes dont really hurt shatter build as clone generation is still easy and doesnt require you to attack target and therefore fail at the summon.

I have been playing GW2 since release with 0 changes to my Internet connection and settings. Was playing a hour ago and now i have this error, and there was no changes to my settings that i know of. The only thing that i did was download newest version of Flash adobe, while game was alt tab. Have tried all of the above and it still does not allow me to get past the character select screen. I also tried the New shortcut solution and it also did not solve the problem. Any ideas?
