I’d like if the MF UI didn’t list the stuff I have in invisible bags. As it is I’ve put a point-of-no-return icon at the first spot of my invisible bags, just to makes sure I don’t MF stuff I want to keep.
Going for: Sunrise
Have: Gift of fortune, Gift of mastery
Missing: Precursor, weapon-specific gift
I completed my first legendary on May 1st (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Post-YOUR-legendary-progress/1772552).
Fairly soon after I decided to go for Sunrise for one of my other characters, and I decided I would not stress out about it but treat it as a long-term goal, getting the general gifts done first (in case i changed my mind) while doing some slow-burn gambling on the forge (16 crafted rares a day plus any four random weapons gotten from the world boss chests).
I’ve managed to get Dusk twice, which has made the road toward Sunrise a fairly pleasant one, but I’m still aiming to get Dawn from the forge itself, saving the rest of the gold for the weapon specific gift and for fun stuff (My asura engineer sports T3 cultural armor now).
For my first legendary I did the T6 mat gifts last, but since I did that part almost first this time I get to save up for a possible third legendary down the line, which gives me a reason to continue “farming” for T6 mats, and hopefully make the third time around go just a little bit quicker.

I was doing a circuit of mount maelstrom hitting holo projectors for the achievement. Unfortunately, I wasn’t finding any pirates. Then I looked at my map and noticed nodes that should have respawned, were gone. I figured someone was popping all the tampered nodes and skipping the others, but I hadn’t seen another person in hours.
It was then that I noticed a node deactivate as I approached it. It seems that some nodes will deactivate completely on their own, not spawning anything.
I am experiencing the exact same thing as Quarktastic. Trying to finish up the Shiverpeaks achievements for Aetherblades in Snowden Drifts. For an hour or two I ran from node to node, killing all the holograms even. I had two Aetherblade nodes total spawn for me. Today, I attempted the achievement again in Snowden Drifts and have now witnessed nodes fading from the map and from right in front of me before I could reach them. The blue hologram shining out just goes away, and when approached, nothing happens.
I can confirm the same behaviour. Last night I and a couple of guildies were hunting pirates in Fields of ruin. My guildies had completed the achievement so they would activate any non-pirate holos and report to me when they found a pirate one. During this I found a pirate holo that despawned when I got close to it.
This would sort of explain why the non-pirate holos dominate; If the pirate holos can despawn and the non-pirate ones never do you’ll fairly quickly end up with only non-pirate ones.
Instead of selling my excess candy on the TP I’ve converted it to jorbreakers (I have seven currently). As I’ve already gotten the skin through mob drops I can’t see myself going for 100 jorbreakers.
My question is; Might other things be available in the near future, with jorbreakers as currency? Something that costs less than a hundred?
I’m at about 1 ticket per 1000 dragon coffers and I want one more ticket. The last 500 didn’t yield a ticket so hopefully my next (and final) batch will give me one.
I can’t wait to see the thread complaining they are using the 10 recipe to get T6 mats and all they get is clovers …
Oh wait ..
Heh, this is so true.
From crafting my first legendary I was really low on the T6 fine crafting mats, so I thought I’d use the 10-clover recipe to replenish my stock and I would stop when i had another set of 77 clovers. I ended up getting 77 clovers in just 228 ectos :P
I can’t complain though (I regard this post as informational) since I did get some decent amount of T6 mats. From the top of my head; 61 claws, 38 scales, 28 dust, 10 corrupted lodestones, 60-something orichalcum ingots and a few others that I can’t remember right now. The only “bad” drops I got was getting T6 leather once and T6 wood twice.
I don’t think the Karka would appreciate desecrating their dead. They could start petitioning or protesting in the streets of LA.
Or, you know, rampage through LA destroying a lighthouse and fountain…
Completed my Juggernaut yesterday, May 1st 2013. I’ve attached a couple of pictures.
Juggernaut:
- Precursor: I have it
- Gift of Fortune:
— 77 clovers: Have it
— 250 ectos: Have it
— T6 fine crafting materials: Have most of them above 100
- Gift of Mastery: Have it
- Gift of the Juggernaut: Have it
My aim is to try and get the non-purchasable stuff completed (SE tokens and Badges of Honor) then start working on the Vial of Quicksilver. Once that is done I’ll finish the Gift of the Juggernaut and then all that’s left is the T6 materials.
I’m getting sidetracked alot with the dailies/monthlies, Super Adventure Box, World chest looting, fractals and planned guild activities, but I’ll get there eventually. At least the precursor is out of the way.

I haven’t kept a record on how much stuff I’ve fed Zommoros with (on purpose, as I really don’t want to know) but I went the slow but steady route when gambling for my precursor, and last night I got mine;
- Batches of 16 lvl 80 crafted rare hammers whenever I had enough materials for it
- All lvl 80 greens went into the mystic forge for a possible rare upgrade and green armor was paired with a green underwater weapon for a chance to be upgraded to a rare weapon
- All rare armor (and sub-80 weapons) got salvaged for the ectos and runes/sigils
- All lvl 80 rare weapons went into the mystic forge
I think I might continue doing this, minus crafting rare hammers, since it’s been working out OK for me (I’m not stinking rich but I’m not poor either). I have a metric crapton of leather and silk stored up so I might craft armor for ecto salvaging whenever i have the T5 materials for it.
I guess my best advice, if you’re going the gambling route for your precursor, is to not overdo it. Only spend what you can live with losing.
I did my first clover forges last night. 58 1-clover combines got me 21 clovers. Slightly above the curve, but I suspect it’ll even out eventually.
some soulbound runes can’t be reforged in the MF. like the monk and balthazar ones :|
The problem is that, in my case, the superior sigil of intelligence doesn’t say it’s soulbound. I’ve even bought major sigils/runes from the TP (but atm I can’t remember which ones) that didn’t show up in the mystic forge. If they can be bought on the TP they’re not soulbound and should be usable in the mystic forge.
Superior sigils (and runes) cannot be re-rolled. And what do you mean by “major sigils”? Sigils of the rare class?
I’m pretty sure they can be rerolled (four exotic runes gives one random rune back). The problem is that some runes and sigils doesn’t show up at all in the mystic forge despite not being a “dungeon” rune/sigil, like the superior rune of intelligence.
Currently if you put in three of the same item type and rarity plus a mystic forge stone the result is a random item.
I suggest that the mystic forge stones should inherit both the item type and rarity of one of the items put in (like the item in the mystic forge slot next to it)
If the mystic forge stones would function like that it would give me a reason to use them rather than having them collect dust in my bank.
Edit:
With this you could also put in one specific item type and three mystic forge stones and get one item of the same type back.

I’ve found a few sigils that doesn’t show up in the mystic forge. The only specific one I can remember of the top of my head is the superior sigil of intelligence but there was a couple of major sigils that didn’t show up too. There’s no indication in the description that these would be soulbound or somesuch so I’m left scratching my head why Zomoros apparently dislikes certain sigils. I’ve tried googling about it and I’ve specifically checked the wiki and have searched on this forum, but there doesn’t seem to be any info about it out there.
Does anyone have any insight regarding this?
I’m running a grenadier/bomber build (30, 0, 25, 5, 10) … which used to be a bomber/grenadier build (25, 0, 30, 5, 10)
My current armor setup is:
Two pieces with Pow/Tough/Vit (shoulders, boots)
Two pieces with Pow/Prec/Tough (gloves, helmet)
Two pieces with Pow/Prec/Crit dmg (chest, leggings)
My trinket setup is a mess at the moment with a mixed bag of exotic, rare and mastercrafted items.
I’ve noticed that the world completion data for my main character seemed off so yesterday I went through every zone needed for 100% completion. In my case the missing Vistas/POI’s/Waypoints matches Rata Sum (which incidentally was the first zone I ever 100% mapped). When I get home from work tonight I’ll pay the map a visit to see if it auto-updates into a 100% world completion.
Edit:
Turns out i had only partially explored Hoelbrak, which accounted for the “missing” WP’s/POI’s/Vistas. I blame old age. Now get off my lawn!

I haven’t checked the forums for warrior builds before, so with that said, my lvl 64 warrior is using sword/warhorn with a swap to hammer, because I liked the setup. I have a bow and rifle in my inventory if I’d need true range. The attributes are distributed as follows: 10 0 30 4 10 with the aim at 80 to have 10 0 30 20 10. I’m using the major traits that increase in potency with adrenaline so I rarely use the F1 abilities.
That’s actually why I checked the boards now; I had decided on a build and wanted to see if others was going for the same… which is what I will do as soon as I’ve posted this :P
The rifle can be pretty powerful even without any trait points into Firearms.
Here’s my current PvE Rifle+Bomb kit build and I enjoy it alot:
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#MzMM9czmNohMmbMxMp0xVackVRqo
I really don’t like the grenade kit and imho it’s fairly overpowered at the moment and it’ll probably be nerfed sooner rather than later, so I’ve conciously steered clear of it, opting for the bomb kit instead.
This might not be the most deadly engineer build (atm anything with the grenade kit is) but it’s still pretty powerful and it’skittenfun to boot (ymmv).

I think I’m going to try the build in the OP but with the healing kit and the thumper turret instead of Elixcir C… and possibly moving the Alchemy points to Tools.
Now I just need to get (yet) another set of armor to be less squishy.
I can confirm that the medikit (in PvE) doesn’t revert back to the weapon I’m currently holding, unlike the bomkit that does.
I much prefer the medikit to behave like the bombkit in this regard as it’ll be one less button to push while fighting. To make it clear, I’d prefer that the key that brings up a kit also stoves it away.
