Considering, that for the new precursors collections will be the only way of obtaining them (so no drop/mf chance, and no trading them – i assume that would mean no trading for final legends as well)
Could you please provide your source for this statement.
With these new collections, we were curious if the precursors would still be obtainable through other means such as drops and the Mystic Forge where they are currently acquired.
The original precursors will definitely remain available through those means, but the new precursors will be different and revealed when they are ready to roll out the new legendary weapons.
Very interesting. I wouldn’t go so far as to state that there’ll be only one way of aquiring the new precursors (the quote only states that “it will be different”), but it sure does strongly hint that the new precursors will not be available through drops or the mystic forge, which was news to me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the precursor collections would be something along the lines of Exotic hunter or Acolyte of Dwayna in difficulty; Neither easy nor cheap nor fast and with randomness playing a big part in its completion.
“Unlock all non-precursor, non-gemstore, skins for [weapontype], including all weapons crafted via the Mystic Forge”.
Until we have full disclosure of the process I’m taking a pragmatic stance and won’t commit to neither the “too easy” nor the “too hard” camp.

My diary of sorts have filled up a second post, so I’m now starting a new one.
Jan 15th: At roughly 20:00 GMT I started getting repeated 7:11:3:191:101 and 42:0:9001:4409:101 error pop-ups, followed by lag spikes kicking me to character select. I could load a map from character select but would almost right away get another lag spike that kicked me to character select. Eventually the client restarted; I could log back in but the lag was still present and I got stuck on loading the map. I’ve made a proper report and have emailed a reply to my open request with a pathping log and the description above. At 20:50 GMT the lag went away. It was like flipping a switch so maybe there was an issue with the login server that got fixed at that time?
Jan 16th: No lag. Session lasted 17:00 GMT to about 21.30 GMT.
Jan 17th: Tried logging in at 19:13 GMT and had a couple of timeouts. I eventually managed to log in and select a character but got stuck on loading the map. Did a pathping and when that had finished I tried logging in again and Everything were smooth and lag-free, until 19:40 when I got a lag spike that kicked me to character select. I tried entering the game with the same character and the map took several minutes to load. Once it had loaded I could stay in-game but experienced a series of short lag spikes, ranging from ½-2 seconds, ending with a 2 minute lag spike at 19:56 GMT that eventually kicked me to character select with a 7:11:3:191:101 error. At this time I made a second pathping. Up until 20:46 I had problems logging in, and when I managed I was experiencing a mix of 2 second lag spikes to 2-minute lag spikes that kicked me. I did another pathping at 20:46 which concluded at 20:55. I tried logging in again and this time I had no problems logging in and had no lag. Like Jan 15th something magical happened around 20:50 GMT that erradicated all my issues.
Jan 18th to Jan 20th: During this time I’ve had a couple of instances where the login server has been completely unreachable for a short amount of time but mostly my sessions have been lag-free. Since these instances haven’t resembled the problems I previously experienced I haven’t mailed a report about it. I will continue to update this post till at least the end of the month, especially since there’ll be another patch in that time. At the moment I’m cautiously optimistic though.
Jan 21st: ‘twas too good to be true. After a few days of lag-free play it has once again reared its ugly head. At 19:46 GMT I started noticing small lag spikes and skill delays between half a second and 2 seconds, the lag got progressively worse and at19:58 I got kicked to character select (with the Silverwastes meta at 99% grumble). I tried loading the map but got stuck on loading; The usual scenario. I’m running the pathping now and will mail a report to be added to my open request.
Jan 22nd: At 19:15 GMT, literally seconds after looting all Tequatl chests (woot!), I got an error popup about problems connecting to the login server. A minute or so later I was kicked to character select and after that I got stuck on loading the map. I decided to close down the client and try logging in again but the login attempt kept timing out. I did a pathping and by the time it had completed I was able to log back in again with no problem and no lag. It seems the login server was unreachable for about 25 minutes, which are leaps and bounds better compared to the issues I’ve had the last two months.
Jan 23rd to Feb 3rd: I’ve not experienced any lag (as described above) during this timeframe. If the lag monster has not returned come the weekend I’ll let anet know that my case should be considered solved. Should the lag return I’ll open a new ticket and will start a new post with reference to this one.

It looks like my diary of sorts have reached max size as I can’t seem to add more to it, so i’ll continue in this post.
Dec 20th: Couldn’t log in at around 17:00 GMT so I waited and tried again at 18:05 and managed to log in and had no lag. At 19:10 I went from no lag to a lag spike that eventually kicked me to character select. After that the client got stuck on loading the map so I had to kill the client. Logging in took several minutes and I eventually got stuck loading the map again. At around 19:40 GMT I managed to log in. Loading a map took several minutes and eventually I got a 58:11:5:535:101 error after which I had to kill the client again. Pathping log added. After this I went and played something else.
Dec 21st: No lag all day. Started getting 10-second lag at 20:50 GMT and was eventually kicked to character select at 20:55 GMT with a 7:11:3:191:101 error. I was able to load the map after that but I still had lag and I decided not to push it further as I had had my fill for the day.
Dec 22nd: Logged on at 18:00 GMT and had a constant 2-3 second lag, but by 18:15 it had dissipated and I was lag-free. At 19:54 GMT I got the usual 40+ second lag spike out of nowhere, with the usual kick to character select with a 7:11:3:191:101 error, with the usual being stuck loading the map. As I couldn’t log on and get the IP of the server I was on I used the *.152 address from that other thread. After this I decided to go do something else.
Dec 23rd to Jan 1st: I’ve played a lot less during the holidays. I’ve had no lag issues when I’ve actually played, but that might be because everyone else have been off for the holidays also. I will probably be back in full force closer to the next patch. If I get the lag spikes and disconnects again I’ll make sure to report it properly
Jan 5th: Lag started at 18:38 GMT with the usual problems described above. The pathping report has been mailed as requested. At 20:14 GMT I was able to log in and had no lag and I was lag-free until my session ended at 00:43 GMT.
Jan 8th: Noticed a half second lag at 19:26 GMT and by 19:29 I got a lag spike that eventually kicked me to character select with a 7:11:3:191:101 error. I managed to log in again but the map took over a minute to load and the lag was still present. Eventually got stuck on loading a map and got kicked to character select again with the same error as above. Could log in again but the lag was still present so I gave up at 20:05 GMT. A pathping report has been mailed. I goofed a bit and sent the new pathping as a new request. For the next one I’ll just add to the previous request.
Jan 12th: At 17:38 GMT I noticed slight, half a second, lag. At 17:49 I had the first 40+ second lag spike but I didn’t get kicked to character select, instead the client caught up, which had the effect of everything standing still for over 40 seconds and then everything went into hyper-speed till the client had caught up. This happened during the final fight of the Dwayna temple event chain with alot of people around, making this very noticeable. At 18:00 GMT I had my first lag spike that eventually kicked me to character select with a 7:11:3:191:101 error. After managing to log in again I had a 42:0:9001:4409:101 error pop-up, but the client didn’t kick me to character select. The pathping log has been mailed through my previous request.
I imagine alot of EU players decided to quit work early to get the last chance at doing the wintersday events. Usually these lag spikes and kicks to character select start between 18:30 GMT and 19:30 GMT.
Jan 13th: No lag at all. Session lasted from about 17:00 GMT to 23:30 GMT (minus downloading the patch). I’ve had no lag on patch day once before but the issue returned a day later so I’m biding my time. I took advantage of this and played hard to get through a good portion of the new content.
Jan 14th: Between 17:06 and 18:06 GMT I had mild lag; Noticeable but playable. At 19:24 GMT I had several long lag spikes, two of which kicked me to character select. These happened during the final Silverwastes boss fight (while the zone was fighting the third champion no less). As I didn’t have any lag once I had zoned to another map I’ll conclude that the lag was more to do with a strained map server rather than my lag problem from the previous month. I did a pathping but didn’t mail a report.

Well the reorg is tomorrow and since there was no word on preserving this board other than tossing it into the miscellaneous drawer (aka GW2 Discussion), maybe we’ll catch each other if a BLTP thread pops up on the 1st page for 5 minutes before it gets scrolled off due to the dueling/mount/P2W threads/Zerk sucks/Zerk Rules daily threads.
Ja ne.
We’ll just have to dive in and make the best of it. We’re a talkative bunch, so we have that going for us.
I tried to get Bob within the first 10 minutes of the 3-day headstart, but it was taken. So was “Precious Snowflake” (I had it earmarked for a bulky male norn).
For an example of the opposite; I made a farm character a couple of months back, a sylvari, and the name “Seedhartha” had not been taken.
I visit the crafting subforum and this subforum on a daily basis. I visit the general forum every now and then. I have to concur with Ensign in that this subforum has more posts with substance than the other subforums and that’s what kept me a regular lurker here.
I’d prefer to have the BLTC forum stay as a separate subforum.
Just an update; Today, post-patch, I had no lag whatsoever.
I’m going to give it a few days to verify and will add edits to my posts if I continue to be lag-free during EU primetime.
Since my error reports all look about the same and doing a new post for each status update just fragments my issues, I’ll make this post into sort of a diary. When I’ve had maybe a work-weeks worth of lag-free sessions I’ll stop updating.
Dec 3rd: Unfortunately today, at almost precisely 20.00 GMT, the lag and disconnects came back in force with a host of different error pop-ups. From 17.00 up until 20.00 GMT my play session had been lag free.
Dec 4th: Another session with no lag whatsoever. The session lasted from 17:30 GMT to 23:00 GMT.
Dec 5th: no lag at all.
Dec 6th: no lag at all.
Dec 7th: At 17:58 GMT the 40 second lag spikes and disconnects were back. Up until that time my play session had been lag free. I waited a bit and by 19.20 GMT the lag was gone and I could log in again.
Dec 8th: Lag free up until 20:00 GMT. I was doing guild missions and could actually time one of the lag spikes with the timer for the event; 2 minutes 17 seconds before I got kicked to character select. I gave up for the night at 21:10 GMT.
Dec 9th: Lag free up until 21:12 GMT where the lag spikes returned, eventually kicking me to character select. Gave up at 21:40 GMT after not being able to even log in.
Dec 10th: Tried logging in at 18:15 GMT but neither the login server nor the GW2 forums were reachable. Waited till 18:40 and could then log on and had no lag. At 22:00 GMT I had a few minutes of lag spikes but it eased off.
Dec 11th: No lag. Session lasted 17:40 GMT to 20:20 GMT.
Dec 12th: No lag up until 21:15 GMT, after which I got a lag spike that lasted several minutes before being kicked to character select. During this time it also took a long while to load the forum login page. Eventually the client gave an error and automatically closed and restarted. Managed to log back in at 21:35, but the lag spikes were still there so I gave up at 21:40 GMT.
Dec 13th: Intermittent short bursts of lag during the day, but at 21:15 GMT the usual lag spikes and disconnects started.
Dec 14th: Logged in at 18:00 GMT, at 18:15 the client lost connection with the login server. Managed to log back in at 18:50 GMT. No lag from 18:50 to 22:30 GMT.
Dec 15th: No lag from about 18:00 GMT to 20:20 GMT where the client lost Connection with the server and wouldn’t let me log on again. Managed to log in again at 20:31 but still had lag, got kicked character select multiple times. Gave up at 21:10. I’m starting to get a little bit bitter.
Dec 16th: Lag set in at 18.31 GMT with the usual several minutes of lag and disconnects. Client restarted at 18.45 and I could log in with no lag. I had no lag for the rest of the session (which ended around 22:00 GMT).
Dec 17th: The lag and disconnects started at 18:45 GMT. I eventually ended up in a perpetual loadscreen and had to kill the client. Managed to log back in at 19.46 GMT and had no lag…. until 20:21 GMT when the lag was back, the client restarted and i couldn’t log back in. At this Point, after giving my screen a double middle finger salute, i decided to go play something else instead.
Dec 18th: T+30 days from first-lag: Lag started around 19:30 GMT. I had been character hopping and went from no lag and fast load times to minute long load times in a single switch. The client eventually restarted and I managed to log back in, but again got stuck on loading the zone. Tried loggin in again at 20:10 GMT and the lag was gone. Had smaller lag spikes at 20.55 with long map load times and one kick to character select so i decided to call it a night.
Dec 19th: Lag started at 18:10. Completed the wintersday JP with no lag, zoned into divinity’s reach and immediately had a couple of 40+ second lag spikes and a disconnect. Got stuck on the character select screen for several minutes after hitting play, eventually getting a 58:11:5:535:101 error and the client automatically restarting. Managed to log back in but the divinity’s reach map was perpetually loading. After ten minutes of loading I manually killed the client. Managed to login and load the map at 18:53 and had one full minute of lag-free play before the lag spikes were back followed by a 7:1000:7006:462:101 error. After that it was back to failed logins and perpetual map loads. Managed to log in and load the map at 19:36 but immediately got a lag spike that held until i got a 7:11:3:191:101 error and was kicked to character select. Got a 21:5:11:2541:101 error while trying to load the map. From 20:30 to 20:34 i got in and had no lag, but then it was back to lag spikes and disconnects. At 21:30 i managed to log in. Still had lag but at least the client stayed connected with the login server. Despite the lag i managed to finish the wintersday Daily; It took 3½ hours.

As I’ve done quite a few reports already and they basically all look the same I’m not doing anymore of them. Please note that I’m having the same problem (with 40 second lag spikes and disconnects) each and every day at EU primetime (17:00 — 21:00 GMT) and even earlier during weekends.
(This will more or less be a repeat of my previous reports)

Try this if you having huge lag problems. It helped me alot yesterday. After i did this had no more lag.
If this is against rules the i don’t care. Anet can ban me but at least im more useful then they are.
I hate you for being toxic, but I love you for reacquainting me with this

At 18.52 CET (a few minutes after logging on for the evening) I had a 30-40 second lag spike and during the below pathping I actually lagged out completely and were kicked to character select.
First sign of trouble seem to be the last jump from telia.net to ncsoft.com.

I bought my set of ears when they were on sale a long while ago. For the time being I’m happy to have something uncommon for my Asura mesmer to wear… I’m spoiling him something fierce :P
Somebody who had lots of stock, sold it to buy orders.
this
some people stocked up months ago for someday “precursor crafting patch” or “jeweller patch” or “megaserverthing will rise the price” and so on … nothing happend so they throw it back to the marked cause its dead capital …. and when you have to wait tooo long the profit can´t be high enough to not be a loss anyway
I’d go as far as pointing toward the Foxfire introduction being the culprit. People have been farming tree nodes in malchor’s leap and any Orichalcum nodes nearby have been harvested as well. After several weeks people have stocked up on T6 ore and prices are more likely to decrease rather than increase.
Personally the four stacks of Orichalcum ore I had on buy order from the last time it dipped got filled yesterday. It’ll be interesting to see how low it’ll go before bouncing back.

as a precursor forger you are trying to beat the highest buy offer of a precursor by forging it yourself and not spending more gold in the process, while aquiring the mats/weapons.
As the tax would result in higher pricespreads across the board, it would also be likely that you can purchase the mats/weapons at a lower price, using white karma (please read my added suggestion about white karma replacing regular karma as tax currency) and it is likely that you will earn more profit, when listing your precursor for sale than before.Again, the fact that you have to put in alot of buy order for a huge quantity of t5 mats doesnt matter, its the value. If you manage to only spend 800g on buy orders to forge a precursor, you will still make more profit per karma than the flipper that has to spend 1000g as the lowest offer to sell it at 1300g lowest listing.
I am not sure if i understand your suggestion about adding karma (lets go with white karma) as a trading resource correctly.
Will the white karma tax be replacing the gold fees and taxes of the tp or will it be an addition?
Will the buyer or the seller pay the tax?
Who earns white karma through the transaction?
Part of my point was that karma, as suggested in your original post, would effectively act as a measure of playtime linked to TP purchases. Once you run out of karma (or you decide that your karma should go toward crafting a legendary weapon or ascended items) you’re effectively blocked from being able to purchase items at competitive (currency) prices. I argue that this would lead to people not buying items from the TP or finding alternate routes of buying items.
One way to aleviate that would be to have karma act as a tradable currency linked to selling items. In a hypothetical trade with a hypothetical amount of “karma tax” the buyer would have to pay the karma tax with 80% being removed from the game and 20% being given to the seller (again, the percentages are hypothetical and not suggested percentages). That way you would be able to both gain and lose karma in trades. This would be in addition to the normal gold tax.
With the above said, I still think the idea of a “karma tax” is a bad idea that will block or discourage people from trading on the TP and hence it would affect the market negatively.
I dabble in mystic forging for precursors and hence put in a lot of buy orders whenever I’m trying to stock up on the mats needed to craft rare weapons. I’ve also crafted a few legendaries (for personal use) and hence have used up alot of my karma. I currently have about 500k karma.
This suggestion would affect me negatively as I have a limited amount of karma and a “need” to put in a lot of buy orders. In the long run this would force me to stop crafting rare weapons and putting them in the mystic forge.
I’ll assume I’m not the only one in my situation, so in the long run this would potentially lead to decreased velocity on the market for crafting materials and fewer items leaving the game via the Mystic forge. It would also increase the incentive to take a risk and bypass the TP entirely through mail trading.
The way I see it, if you’re going to treat karma as a trading resource, then make it a trading resource; Lets say the karma tax is the same as for gold, 15%, then 10% could be removed from the game and 5% could be transferred to the seller. That could be an interesting approach.
Overall though I much prefer to leave karma out of trading entirely.
Someone wants a word with OP.
On topic: I’m scared of overhyping myself which will only lead to disappointment. I have hopes and dreams but I refuse to expect them with this first installment of LS season 2. With that said, if season 2 starts as slow as season 1 I’m afraid I’ll reserve my right to grumble.

The only silver lining is that you can now get a greater variety of superior sigils from the exotics you get from the MF, some of which are worth quite a lot.
Personally I hope Anet will let us MF superior sigils and runes soon-ish. It would raise the base worth of all superior sigils/runes and would lower the worth (at least temporarily) of the current high-value ones.
Ended up getting the salvage-o-matic and 1 bag space, still got around 150 gems left.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I think you will be pleased with the added convenience. I liked the salvage-o-matic so much I bought three of them :P
I’m in my early 40’s and I will be a gamer far beyond my retirement.
The Older Gamers have a precence on Yak’s Bend for NA and Desolation for EU.
I’m all for housing, or customizable home instances which is probably what we’ll get if anet introduces it. I had a blast with housing in Everquest 2, customizing several homes for different characters.
Anet could add a housing item wardrobe (a shed) that we could fill in much the same way as we do with armor and weapon skins now. The skins could be rewards from heart merchants (costing carma), dungeons (costing dungeon tokens), WvW (costing badges), random drops from monsters, random drops from world boss chests… the possibilities are manifold. This could be further expanded with cash shop upgrades for both furniture or building materials (do you want your Asura lab to be made of sandstone instead of whatever that dark stone it’s made of now? Buy it from the cash shop).
Just thinking about this makes me giddy.
Are they all the same level?
The original ones were lvl 78 armor and lvl 80 weapons, but even my second set of armor i’m using got greyed out when selecting a lvl 80 exotic weapon. I tested with weapons non-soulbound, non-accountbound (ready to sell) and all armor got greyed out when it was selected in the mystic forge. It’s all very weird.
I decided to get rid of some exotic leftovers by mystic forging them but apparently you can’t combine exotic armor and weapons.
I must be missing something bleeding obvious here but the wiki seem to indicate that it should be possible.
“Four pieces of equipment of the same quality can be combined in the forge. The input can be weapons, armor, trinkets, or any combination of thereof.”
What am I missing?
I’m sort of waiting for anet to release new legendaries. With the assumption that any new legendaries will follow the same crafting guidelines, I have the materials for two pieces.
Can you imagine the price of T5 fine crafting materials and lvl 75+ rare/exotics if the new legendary precursors will be aquired in the same way as the old ones?

Skritt is the new shiny. Shiiiny!
Of all the races mentioned I think I’d get the most fun out of the Skritt.
Each time that vid gets posted the cost of T5 fine crafting mats go up and stay there for a week or two, and then crashes back to “normal” costs. I find it interesting that there seem to be a cost relation between mithril, elder wood and T5 fine crafting mats; When one go down in price one of the others rise. It’s like people are focusing on one of them instead of all three. If i had unlimited storage i could follow the trend and only buy when one of them are at a low point.
It’s the dungeon specific runes that are soulbound. It’s annoying but since everything else from the dungeon-specific merchants is souldbound also it’s only logical.
This is patently false. All the dungeon token vendors have multiple items for sale that are not soulbound on acquire.
In particular, the sigils sold by the vendors are tradeable, yet the runes are still soulbound on acquire.
Fine, not everything on the dungeon vendors are soulbound on aquire, but the superior runes are, and the soulbound runes you get from the mystic forge are inevitably dungeon-specific runes. There’s nothing patently false about that.

So, what you should ask is; Please make dungeon-specific gear non-soulbound.
They look kinda… super adventure box-ish in preview. ;s
Be still my heart! I have several SAB-starved guildies whom been going on and on lately about wanting SAB back asap. If they add armor as rewards I think they might set up permanent residence in there
Besides, I’m more interested in finding out WTF is going on with Endless Black Quaggan Tonics… they went from 1.80 gold to 5 gold in less than an hour, and still aren’t going back down!
The endless tonics stack, so as long as you have the gold it won’t take up much room in your stash. I guesstimate that that’s one reason to buy em up cheap and start selling them later on.
Killing endlessly spawning mobs won’t get you banned. Killing endlessly spawning mobs while AFK (via botting or scripting) might (should) get you banned.
The recent “ban wave” of people doing the former at a certain map area was most likely a consequence of anet not being able to distinguish them from people doing the latter in the same area.
It’s so easy to slip into superstition when gambling on the mystic forge.
My mostly sane analytical mind tells me that the chances are random, but it doesn’t stop me from holding off on putting things in after a long play session, saving the sacrifices to zommoros till the start of my next play session.
All it does is skew the number of rares I throw in to the beginning of a play session and – hey presto! – “I seem to get more exotics at the start of my play session!”
I guess it’s healthy that I can recognize my own fallacies at least…
It may seem to be the easiest way, but you really should be prepared on losing more than 600g that way. If you had enough money to dump really insane number of rares/exotics into the forge, you’d likely get ahead in the long run, but trying for only one precursor is subject to a really high variance of results. If you look at the forum history, you will find stories of people that dumped 2000 gold (or more) into the forge and got nothing for it.
My advice? Visit every world boss event daily. Salvage (sell/whatever) the armor. Rare weapon types whose precursors cost a lot throw in the bank, and group until get 4 of those. Then throw in MF, pray to RNG gods, shake zommoros and see what gets thrown out. Cheap weapon types (like focus, torch, underwater weapons) throw in separate group and also forge in groups of 4.
Results either sell (if you get exotics worth 2-3 gold or more), or put back into the “to be forged” bin. If you get a rare drop in the open world, treat it the same way. This will take some time, but eventually you will get a precursor. Might be a different one than you wanted, but that can still be sold for money.
Or just sell everything and farm money directly, that works as well, and offers a sure way to get what you want.
This is sound advice (with the presumption that buying the precursor from the TP is not an option).
The only thing I can add is to not overdo it; “Mystic forge” at a pace you can afford.
I do pretty much what Astralporing suggested and personally my comfortable “MF pace” is 16 crafted rares a day, plus any rare weapons I get from the world boss events.
Personally I like the web-based short-stories. It gives me better insight into the lore than an in-game event ever could.
I choose to answer in this way:
- I have one character per profession (one in the high 20’s, the rest are 80)
- I have all the crafting professions spread out over my characters, so no need to switch crafting professions; I just switch characters
- I have three legendaries on three different characters
- On an ordinary day I play at least four of my characters and it’s not uncommon for me to have logged in with each of them during a weekend day
- I do have characters I play more than others (my guardian for fractals, my warrior for dungeons) but I consider myself not having a main character
With how I play, I find it ludicrous to say that this game isn’t alt-friendly.
That is funny in so many ways. Well played bookah
My group of guildies can consistently get the achievement now.
From what I can tell; Kill as few of the crew as possible before killing the boss and never let the boss reset. If the boss resets, do a group wipe and start over (that happened to us one time and we still got the achievement after voluntarily wiping and running back from the waypoint).
Our tactics are as follows:
- We fight in the corner where you drop down into the room.
- Kill the two patrolling mobs and the watcher, but once they’re dead run into the corner of the room from where you drop down and try to unleach as many mobs as possible
- It helps killing the corner crew standing closest to where you’ll fight, otherwise they’ll repeatedly aggro and unleach during the boss fight and can wreck your group with conditions
- For the boss, walk along the pipes under where the waypoint will be to the next corner and pull the boss from there, attack the boss (and ideally only the boss) all the way back to the corner where you dropped into the room
- Kill the boss, trying to stay in the corner to avoid aggroing too many of the crew
- Once the boss is dead, kill the rest of the crew
- addendum: My current experience is that groupmembers dieing doesn’t affect the completion of the achievement, nor do you have to constantly be aggroed to the crew (you can rest up after killing the boss and before going after the rest of the crew.
Me and guildies have tried to get the achievement twice now without succeeding.
The first time we killed the back row of the crew before engaging the boss, but the boss unleached; No achievement update after killing him and then the rest of the crew.
The second attempt we cleared all crew except the front row and then pulled the boss (and he stayed leached this time); No achievement after killing him and then the remainder of his crew.
For both of these attempts no groupmember died. Someone might, or might not, have been in a downed state during the fight but noone died.
I’m sort of stumped on what we did wrong, and from what I can tell noone seem sure about the exact mechanics yet.
Scarlet had me at “die die die die die die, die” <3
Sorry but I think this is a yes and no, you can get daily dragonite from world bosses once PER CHARACTER PER DAY, you will only get the guaranteed rare once though (per day).
really? so if i do a temple with another 80s i can get another 30 dragonite?
Yes. The chest that spawns on the ground (and contains the dragonite) is once per character per day. The daily chest that pops up in the lower right corner (and contains a guaranteed rare/exotic) is once per account per day.
Don’t your spider senses tingle hearing about this or am I the only one? Doesn’t it sound a bit exploity?
I very much doubt anyone will get banned over it, but don’t complain if they get retroactively changed to different stats. You knew what you were getting into, don’t deny it.
I believe the fourth slot need to be filled with one of the inscriptions that you can get from salvaging exotic items. Using one of those basically demand an extra 5 ecto for the combine to work. I guess Anet thought it would’ve been too valuable a salvage drop otherwise.
I’m having the same issue, getting disconnected every 2-10 minutes.
Apparently the chat isn’t affected as everything stopped moving (ie. I was about to be disconnected) and I could still chat with guildies up until the actual disconnect.
Personally I get thrown to character select with the 7:11:3:191:101 error and can login immediately afterwards.
As sure as anyone can be without plowing hundreds of thousands of rares into the mystic forge while collating the data.
From the wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge):
Generic recipes typically require four pieces of equipment of the same rarity and will create a random piece of equipment of that rarity whose level is 5-12 levels higher than the average level of the inputs, with a chance that the item will be promoted in rarity.
There is roughly a 20% chance to create a random higher rarity item, by combining four dyes, runes, sigils, mini-pets, or four pieces of equipment of equal rarity.
