I play a Thief (and only a Thief these days) and Confusion/Retaliation were my worst enemies. I don’t think either of those should have been nerfed. RTL shouldn’t have been nerfed as severely as it was either.

Guard really could use a DPS offhand. Torch is just awful with its long channel and being mostly condition based. Focus shield burst is ok but focus was clearly ment to be more defensive.

When he would stealth he would do his rapid sneak attack stack ton of bleed move. I was able to block it several times. What was my reward for perfectly timing it? Him still being stealth to do it all over again instantly everytime with no revealed or initiative lost. Clearly working as intended…

Just throwing it out there, but a P/D condi thief has to cloak and dagger you to stealth, unless he blows utils. So unless your “Perfect Timing” involves you allowing him to poke you in the kitten with his dagger every 3-4 seconds, you probably aren’t being particularly honest with us.
So rather than argue about a design flaw I pointed out in game, you blindly resort to the “its you” post. My timing was indeed perfect for what I stated. You have no clue how long duel I had with this thief was. He did CnD me many times as we fought, he also missed many times as well. You have completely failed to make a point in what I stated about block and sneak attack. You can tell when someone has no argument when they state “you are not being honest” as their argument.

My point, since you are missing it, is that you failed to dodge or block the important part of the combo, which you can see coming because he has to practically caress you to land it. It doesn’t matter how long you were fighting because attrition is the absolute worst way to kill anything and a condition thief is pretty much 100% attrition damage. Attrition damage takes so stupidly long to take anyone with health it still amazes me that people actually die to condi thieves. They can’t even condition load you, they are just stacking bleed.
P/D condition thief also has the worst escapes and worst utility of any of the viable thief sets.
How in the world did you both fail to kill him AND allow him to stack enough bleeds to actually be dangerous.
You still have not answered the stealth reveal I pointed out. All you talk about is how “bad” people must be to die to thiefs and CnD, ignoring the fact how many times it can be used in long fight. You wont ever dodge it all which ends up making “block CnD” a completely moot point and if anything points for an even harder nerf on that which you clearly wouldnt want. Guess it is too much to expect of someone basic comprehension. Unless you are a troll with seems likely as you cant read. I await your 3rd reply that will in no way address the stealth reveal issue I pointed out… again.

I was dissapointed that the main kitten commander wasnt around this reset. You guys are a real challenge and you tought [RET] a LOT last time we faced you. There weren’t other zergs our size so we split into 2 groups of 15 to make it a bit more interesting.

If you actually did split your group for more even number fights, mad props to you and your crew. I have NEVER seen it happen before since game came out. Fight clubs are only time I seen that sort of thing.
Haha they will never fix thief. You can quote me on that till day they take servers down. Stealth in its current form is insanely OP and has been since game release. They have been told it countless times. Even their own dev statements said they did not want stealth to be used all time. Combine the OP stealth in the game with very high damage spammable skills used when stealthed with no cooldown = dumb poor game design. There is a reason no competitive gamers take this game seriously, this being one of them. WvW thiefs to me are like pub stomping spies in TF2, terrible players that get cheap kills based on the class design itself and not their own skill. At least there is a counter to stealth in that game.
I did it a couple hours ago on CD, some Mag players were near but they were pretty chill (kept a hammer just incase, use banish to knockoff cliff)
Sorry about that, Anet banned me as preemptive strike so opponents of Mag could get to top of puzzle. Had I been able to log in I guarantee not a single enemy would have made it up top, including you.

Sometimes I think today will be different but it never is. Mygumma clearly has most talented population of players in entire game on their server, its been proved in this matchup.
Im on magumma and I hate megummer. The whole server is terrible cept like 100 people most of which are never together or in same guilds. Everyone else on the server amazes me that they even have motor functions to breath. Their reaction time and situational awareness makes me wanna cry just playing a game with them. I can’t even imagine driving a car on same road as these people, and whats shocking is they are likely out on roads everyday. I laugh anytime other servers call mag out for chest thumping about being good, mag isnt good at all where are you reading this? You likely make it up in your minds after you lose 1v1s and small fights to good mag players then in your anger about losing to even numbers you go on forums and cry about mag server chest thumping. As far as this match up, I thought SBI would stop showing up after seeing the numbers/coverage advantage we were up against, but surprising we had EB qued every night. Bannok + DC + pugs did great in EB, even dominated at times. Its by far the strength of our server. Our BL’s defense is a ….. work in progress, and that’s being nice. But overall a good showing for SBI and lots to learn from.
We went soft because for first time in this matchup we got even number fights where people didnt run away. Win or lose that is all we want. When people run from even number fights we trash talk and call them out on it for being bad.
Great fights from TG at fight club. One of best nights Ive had cause of all those 3v3 and 4v4s. Sorry SBI guy it was just too good.

I have 2 builds for my ranger and one is full bunker healing build. WIth that build my pet does too much damage for what setup I run. It allows my pet to kill people without me doing anything other than run around staying alive. Bunker builds like that should not have pets that still hit hard. Having said that, Anet will likely choose worst course of action in correcting that and break things horribly.
Its fine as long as you do not mind dying. You will die alot to 3+ man groups if you are solo due to not being able to kite and not having enough to secure multiple stomps. You will also almost never get away from groups of 5+.

Are you same NS guild thats on DB? In that case continue to be bad by running away from me in 1v1 situations and turning around to fight when your guild mates show up in distance. Same goes to Omen, Agg, NNK, and BP. I have yet to have any of them fight me in 1v1 situation without running.

No, they’re aiming to buff the class as a whole while simultaneously improve those underused build characteristics in order to make the warrior viable at all.
Your “mechanical” advantages (and therefore statistical) don’t come from professions, but from the PvP design.
And that design favors certain classes over others. This is what we call imbalance. You have failed to make a point.
I repeat, you can’t expect a perfect balance when you’re dealing with 2 dif. things, but they’re well balanced for being different.
Being good in one mode (PvE) and poor in another (PvP/WvW) is not sufficient balance. It means they haven’t properly balanced each mode yet, which is what they’re aiming to do with split skills and general buffs that don’t make the class OP in, say, PvE.
If they buffed Warriors to the point they would play exactly like Guardians in PvP (read as in easy mode, that’s how I think Guardians in PvP are), Warriors would simply be insanely overpowered in both PvE and WvW.
Once again, split skills. WvW still needs about as much help as PvP does because the same glaring flaws exist regarding the warrior class against other professions. Thus it does need help in both modes. And once again, a class being good in PvE but bad in PvP is not balance. It’s a pitiful excuse to make sure the warrior doesn’t threaten your precious guardian.
And playerskill is the most determining factor to the outcome, regardless of profession or build. That said…
This game takes very little real skill, even in PvP. What you are left with is balancing classes against one another because people with half a brain know how to optimize their play and use advantages of a class as they are.
…so if you’re playing a Warrior and you can’t kill a Guardian simply because they’re a Guardian, I have some bad news for you.
I guess it’s a good thing your bad news is based on idiotic assumptions then. I can kill guardians, the problem is that the class is way too forgiving in terms of dealing with what the warrior has to offer in both competitive modes. It’s a class that enables players of lower skill to compete with those of higher skill because of innate class advantage. Once again, this is imbalance, and no amount of pitiful rationalization on your part in the terms of “BUT THEY’RE GOOD IN PVE ALREADY!” will change this undeniable fact.
(Again, don’t blame the balance, if there’s anything that isn’t balanced is the PvP design of standing in circles, giving advantages to less mobile, more bunker-ish play styles)
The same flaws also hold true for WvW; class mechanics remain the same with only a few splits between PvE and PvP-changed skills. Saying “don’t blame the balance” is not an argument and you have ultimately failed to provide any sort of support for your stance that this game is, in fact, truly balanced and that guardians and warriors have equal footing in terms of 1v1.
All I am reading from you is a bunch of poor arguments which try to rationalize the fact that classes themselves are not yet properly balanced to make yourself feel better about playing a class which you yourself defined as “easy mode”.
Bottom line, yes, I can agree with OP’s original thoughts that guardians are easymode.
I didnt read any of your posts in this thread but I have seen you post walls of text in pretty much every thread Ive seen on this forum. From what I can tell you think warrior is bad and guardian good. Have you ever thought of playing a guardian so we can finally be rid of your 24/7 posting. Its pretty clear guardian is class choice for you since it does everything, you clearly are just nerfing yourself unless you play it. Unless you are not serious and are just trolling, in which case troll away, but do it in warrior forum so we dont have your clutter.
Reading these I wonder if the people that defend this food would be okay with food that reduced all incoming physical damage by 40%. If you play conditions, this food ruins you completely, especially in conjunction with the runes. It, much like the plus 40% condition duration food is grossly over budget on what it does, and a near requirement if you don’t want to worry about conditions.
Just make it reduce base duration, not total duration and it is fine. Then it works like the offensive variant, which again is too powerful compared to other ways to get duration, but would at least be less insane.
They should have a food that removes armor. -clothes on rennoko, suddenly rennoko has no clothes.
WM was awful. 4 CAMP wiped their 20-30 man zerg 4-5 times in 2 hour period with them failing to kill 1 of us. Bunch of ocean baitfish that dont know what to do if someone is to side of them or above them.

I thought laurels were ment as side rewards, not a main currancy thats gonna be involved in almost all future items. Dumbest idea ever, time gate things because we cant keep our player base interested enough in logging in to just play the game when they want.

He wasn’t specific, but I suspect he was talking about just badges (or more broadly, not laurels or some other time gated resource). Requiring laurels for all of your ascended purchases in addition to badges changes very little, especially when WvW players were able to obtain laurels at the same rate as everyone else. What’s worse is you’ve decided to make accessories exempt from these changes (at 40 laurels + ecto each, this change will mean relatively nothing for most players).
The most desirable (by far) method of obtaining rings will still be FotM for anyone that can stand to PvE in dungeons (admittedly this excludes a lot of WvW people). It’s not even close to WvW badges + laurels. The best method of obtaining accessories will still be guild missions. Amulets might become slightly easier to acquire but aside from the players who can’t stand to run 20 FotM dailies (and that’s a lot of people, to be fair), you’ve changed very little.
The reality is, you’ve increased the laurel pressure on WvW people. They might get cheaper amulets and rings (those who hadn’t already purchased theirs) but now they continue to compete with resources from rings, accessories and WvW infusions. A lot of players will now feel even more pressure to have a main and feel like an alt is a waste of time and resources.
Everything in this patch was obtainable without leaving WvW in the past. Amulets were always available for just laurels, same for rings and the accessories. You’ve even increased the pressure for laurels by adding WvW infusions. Depending on how much weight is carried by the badges in the pricing of these items (say 10 laurels and 250 badges for an amulet instead of 30 laurels) this will probably just put more strain on laurel resources.

Yes the dev in this case is completely wrong. Its even sadder that he quoted him in attempt to prove him wrong, only he still did not get proven wrong. Remove the laurel cost and then you can quote all day long. Also there is no reason at all to not include back piece and accessories.

You guys dont know how to CAMP JP properly. If you fight at start you gotta be outnumbered, you cant camp at start being ones that outnumber, thats just newb scrub stuff. If you are trying to troll enemy you gotta camp at end knock them off to make them run it again or rage quit. Bonus points it they crater on knockoff. Also when do I get paid my enemy commander transfer bounty?

Not to tear open old wounds here, but I wanted to try an clear up some confusion about the Wär situation and the exit of Zero, as I think my exasperation with the concept of guild missions certainly did not help the situation.
Wär is and likely will always be a WvW focused guild, however once guild missions came out, those of us (basically me), realized there was some benefit to doing the missions, not just for the ascended gear, but for the one day when inevitably the Anet folks decided to add in something that took guild commendations that would benefit players in WvW.
Obviously getting anyone to participate was a chore, as most if not all of us found them dull and uninspired, and the vast majority of the guild didn’t even have world completion. Yet more of us would run them with other guilds, because you could get personal rewards repping any guild.
Since they came out, it has been nightmarish convincing people to come to do the missions, and those that do come get punished and spend even longer on them, because of those that choose not to do them, for perfectly legitimate reasons (like they are not really any fun).
I have continue to hold out that people will see the value in sacking an hourish a week on these to build up commendations for future use (banners/whatever new comes out), and to help attract players to the guild who may not like PVE, but like ascended gear.
Unfortunately, even with the return of some older members who were taking a break, and new influx members into the guild, the missions still continue to flouder with attendence, even with the support of some helpful folks from other guilds who run them with us and their normal guild.
Zero never really cared to do missions, and while that isn’t that big a deal to me, as I understand his dislike of them, it set an example that the officership of the guild (at least to some degree) didn’t support the missions. This punished the few of us trying to tow the line.
No reason to discuss the night he left in detail, but I would imagine tempers were high, and things were said/done that people likely would have rather taken back. The circumstances were not a unique situation though. Guild missions being a “requirement” are like mumble and full rep in WvW. You can only “require” so much of online people before a fun guild becomes a horrible dictatorship.
My personal frustration at trying to do these missions with so few people and with so little support I am sure contributed to what went down that evening, though I again wouldn’t have supported demotion (as it symbolically is offensive, and in reality is nearly meaningless).
Zero supported the guild and was a good all around commander and player as far as I could tell. I am not nearly as active as most, but I personally had no issue with him, as he support the guild with siege, money, and was a positive influence in bringing in folks from WvW.
In retrospect, I wish the systems in game allowed WvW players to ignore tedius PVE details (at least at a guild level). Saddly that is not the case now, and if the guild doesn’t come together for the tedium, it is hard to come together in WvW. I think if the guild missions represented a significant time investment I could have understood Zero’s position, but it just seemed so out of character to me that he chose to never participate.
I never intended that folks blow up on the forums over this event, and since I have been the honorary PVE coordinator since these darn missions came out, I accept a lot of the blame for what happened. The bad blood happens when people leave, and I am sure I will spike zero if I get the chance, but in reality, I do not think there is nearly as much bad blood as people believe. I am sure he will be happy with his new guild and I wish him the best.

Can we get back to WvW ? so many Magumma forum posters ganging up on one person, it’s like bullying. If your server were trying to recruit any other guilds to progress to Tier 2, they would see your posts and I doubt they want to join your community.
Good we dont want to go to tier 2 and we hate transfers. We do our best to be as unwelcoming to new players as we can to keep the trash away.
You better take JP serious if you wanna survive when CAMP is in there.
