I have replied to my ticket which was ‘under investigation’ and got a response (unacceptable):

Thank you for your patience while the ArenaNet Development team investigates this incident.

At this time, we have finished delivering the rewards for the Lost Shores event to all accounts that qualified. If you have not received the reward, please make sure that your in-game mail is not full. If you are able to receive mail but have still not received the reward, it is because our records indicate that you did not meet the requirements to receive these items.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Too bad, no reward, I am not qualified for the reward.

P.S – My support ticket was made an hour after the event ended. Timezones being what they are, I apparently got up at 4AM in order to scam them out of some loot. Gj.

This has not been forgotten. The solution is coming down the pipeline and should be live this week.

So you have 38 hours left to ship the Lost shore compensation now ?

Anet Support said compensations will be shipped Early this week but its Thursday and tomorrow will be Friday which is END of the week for working people like me and than starts the WEEKEND where people don’t work.

It was supposed to be early last week too, according to the reply to my support ticket.
On a side note, this whole thing is reminding me of an ex-employer who would say ’I’m paying you right now/in an hour/before close of business’ eventually stringing me along for 5 weeks before I could get my pay out of her.

Can we have an update here? Some kind of confirmation that we did not in fact hallucinate the idea that we were supposed to receive the goodies today?

It’s not a matter of putting the blurb together, but for the team to investigate what can be done and how it will be done. That said, I came back to my desk to find an email with information on what is being done about the situation.

We have confirmed that we can provide everyone who did not have the opportunity to loot the chest with a reward for their participation. All affected players will receive a reward regardless of whether or not they have contacted Support. We’re working very hard on this, and you should have a reward in your in-game mail early next week.

I am by nature a suspicious person. And in this case, my suspicions were aroused by the bolded words in the quoted post.

“A reward” is not the same as “the reward”. Am I going to open my mail to receive the equivalent of a previous poster’s t-shirt? I certainly hope not, but who can say?

My question is the following: Will those of us who were prevented from claiming our rewards at the time receive the same reward as the lucky few who DID manage to loot the chest, or will we be treated to a consolation prize not worth the inventory space it takes up?

P.S. If we got it in addition to the regular reward everyone else got, I would totally wear that t-shirt too.

P.P.S: What is Anet’s definition of ‘early in the week’? My definition says that only Monday and Tuesday qualifies as early, but the previous note I got said I would receive more info early in the following week, which turned out to be Friday. Does Anet hold to the philosophy that as long as it’s before Sunday it’s still early?

WEll I got distracted just before Camp Karka and I got DC before anyone was talking about defending it, so I probably completed most of the event.

Yay me!

Now to complete the rest of Phase 1 as soon as the stupid net comes back on.

So I cleared the beach, ran a ways with Ellis and got distracted, then my Internet went down before I could find her again.

Was that all of Phase 2 and will I get a reward when my Internet comes back on? (phone internet FTW!)

Wiki page says the Ellis event was all of phase 2, is that right?

The ‘files remaining’ thing just isn’t cutting it, as it doesn’t actually show you how long its going to take or how much data it will be. I once watched if download 200mb between 98 and 99%, which is just ridiculous.

Even a post on the forums would be helpful – I understand from the people in support that it will also download any corrupt or missing files – in that case all you have to do is add the rider ‘assuming your client is up to date and no files are corrupt’.

But seriously, some kind of indicator would be very helpful.

I am willing to forgive the late patch, more or less, even though it will mean I am probably going to miss the event.

What I find unacceptable is the fact that there has been NO official communication from ANYONE regarding this matter. We were promised a patch on the 15th at a specific time. That patch has so far not materialized, nor have we been informed in any way WHY it is late, or when it is going to be here. Ballpark figures or guesstimates would have been okay. A post on the forum from a dev or a mod saying ’we’re sorry, the patch has been delayed, you can watch this thread for more details’ would have been great.

Ringing silence is not an acceptable reply.

Especially not when I am sitting here, watching my clock tick past midnight, having stayed up late on a work night to download the patch in the vain hope that I would be able to attend the event.

Stop being stupid, Arenanet and tell us what is going on

Hawkmoon, I agree with you totally. Before GW2 the only experience with MMOs I had was EVE Online, and if CCP tried the mushroom approach with their players they would get lynched. They devblog almost every single change they make. When an EVE patch comes out, players are prepared.

And if they say the patching process will start at 1200PST, it kitten well starts then.

And that doesn’t even touch on ninja-deleting pages, ninja-editing things…

Ah, screw it, theres only a 8 days left and it resets on the 1st anyway. If I can keep my usage to under 100mb a day I should be fine.

Just realised that I used to get by with 600mb a month, how times have changed!

Hi!

I’m on a limited Internet plan and I would just LOVE someone to tell me how big this update is? I let it get to 268mb before I stopped it, only have about 2gb left for the month.
