I think this is fine. Certain people want feeling of progression. There arent raids there arent true gear tiers you hit lvl 80 quickly. Let those people have this feeling of pve progression. This is about the gentlest form of progression they could realistically put in.
What I find interesting is people are so against going a lower level that they will sit around for an hour waiting when they could have done a lower level fractal and got loot and then have a group closer to their own. These things run so quickly you can do a couple levels with a good group.
As someone with 4 characters… I disagree with this.
Not everyone was able to get their fractal runs in this weekend. If its account bound its going to greatly reduce future accounts abilities to get their beginning runs in.
so instead of putting in half an ounce of effort and changing your message you want them to change the code for the game?
lfg fractals
any groups forming for fractals
elementalist lf fractal group
there i just fixed your problem for you :P
I think the real issue is something not discussed.
I saw plenty of low level people bumped up in fractals doing just fine.
Lots of lvl 80s getting killed and having to repair armor. Its a fact of the game.
So if you are saying that you don’t have the money to repair, and use waypoints, and you kept dying, and believe that a lvl 65 without gear is the same as a lvl 80 with exotics….
the problem is you are bad at this game. Not your character or the mechanics but your personal skill level.
Yes! Everyone needs to get a blue ribbon for school field day!
As a Guardian I say leave the portal in.
It adds new tactics and can change the battle.
Just sweep a keep after you take it to clear them out.
1: Why do you HAVE to get your legendary in 2 weeks?
2: Some of enjoy a hobby beyond a 2 week period.
The other hobbies you list are one time events. Reading a single book takes X hours. Does a person that reads for pleasure only read one book then quit? Counterstrike clanwars, so you only do one then quit and move on?
You are seriously comparing getting a legendary weapon with graduating college!?
Your examples are completely and flat out wrong here.
When a player is struggling and not pulling their weight they know it and are probably getting frustrated. There is no need for you to be saying anything especially on the last fight of the dungeon. If it was an issue enough to talk about and deal with it should have been dealt with earlier.
But on the last fight? You couldn’t have kept your mouth shut for a few more minutes, get the reward and then leave?
So you were a jerk and they were a jerk back at you. Perhaps next time you’ll get your timing down better.
Keep the RNG for legendaries. Everything else in this game is practically handed to us. It would be nice if something was rare even if I never end up getting one. There are lots of play styles and something should be for that playtype.
deathmond: you may think that is not what the game is about but others do proven by the fact that prices are different for different items and stats. Power and vitality stat items sell for a lot more then others throughout the levels.
This breaking news update…
limited time Halloween events are over when Halloween is over!
This forum is filled with the “I waited till the last minute for the monthly achivement/halloween event and its not fair I didn’t get my reward”. It really makes me wonder what some of you were thinking.
forced… this word you use…. I do not think it means what you think it means.
I went into this thread thinking it was going to be a whine about it costing too much or its not fair you “have” to pve to get a comannder’s manual but what you say makes a lot of sense.
/agree
Or perhaps it might be a way to show all the “This game is anti-social there is no reason to make friends, join a guild, or talk to one another!” types of players that there is in fact reasons to be social.
yes it was stupid of me to trust that someone would keep there word. They did have trade in GW1 I thought worked fine
You took an action that had two possible outcomes
1: You get the item
2: You do not get the item.
Either you were stupid and didnt understand #2 was a possibility or you were stupid in not being prepared for that potential outcome.
Knowing full well the sequence of events, its Anets fault you gave someone gold first and got nothing in return?
1: My account is fine. I am currently playing and enjoying the game.
2: I see more and more people posting of their accounts being hacked. Some guildies have had their accounts hacked and stuff sold or deleted. ANets response seems to be “sorry we can’t help you get your items back.”
I really find this puzzling and odd. No other online game that I am aware of has this stance. If it is true that ANet does not have the ability to recreate lost items then this needs to be added into the game and support process. There has to be logs of what items were on a particular character because when we log into the game the server has to pull up what to load up onto our characters so its not like people can lie about having lost legendaries.
I spend $10-$15 a month on gems. I love this game and have no problem giving Anet my money. However if I was hacked and just had to live with it? Yes I’d quit in a heartbeat. Currently there is no physical authenticator and I do not have a smartphone to buy the app.
Do you guys also complain about being forced to go to work to get a paycheck?
To do the monthly achievement you have to do the tasks listed in the said achievement. They go hand in hand.
The world must be a wonderful place if this is what we have to rage over. “OMG I did an achievement but it doesnt count towards a second achievement! Ignore the fact I am going to do it anyways from the other events but its not fair!”
Being an adult with a job, family, and a social life I can understand disappointment at missing it but cannot understand placing blame on ANet.
It took 30 minutes and was up for 3 days 1 of which was a weekend day. How much time were you wanting them to give here because the argument could be made that there isnt enough time for the entire event for people to get pumpkins or ToT bags or all the achievements.
There are so many smug replies in this thread from people who knew when it would cut off previously and have now somehow decided that everyone who assumed a month that hadn’t ended yet wasn’t over in-game either are lazy idiots or something.
1: Options, User Interface, in-game clock. setting can be local time or server time.
2: The month did end for those the realize there are more countries in the world then their own.
Unless this is your first day playing then why exactly do some of you think the daily achievements resets in the middle of your day?
The replies some are getting are probably because the attitude around here is that there is some bug or a problem that needs to get fixed on ANets part.
ROFLMAO
I love all these “Why are the November achievements up its still October!” posts with November time stamps.
I wish I had $1 for every time this forum incorrectly used the word FORCED.
Unless you are chained to your computer with a gun to your head I doubt there is much forcing going on.
I have absolutely no doubt that people will have this problem until they fix the issue. There’s nothing expected about having a date-dependent feature reset using a different time-zone from the server.
So yes, you will seriously see these kinds of posts every month. It’s clearly a bug in the UX.
If by issue you mean people failing to understand how a calendar and time zones work together then yes it will continue.
A few hours…its more like 12+ hours for most.
Most people live west of the international date line and live in Asia/Oceania?
Why does it need to be explicitly stated when you can just look at the server time and tell. Why exactly would it be every players personal time when it resets? No server based game does that.
This was hands down the largest holiday event of any MMO I have played. I’m really impressed by how much was added in just a short while after launch.
Because there are two types of people in the world.
1: Those that understand what “Chance” and “Probability” means.
2: Those that don’t
I found it hilarious because that is exactly how kids are. Halloween? BAH its candy day when strangers give you free candy!
Its second only to Christmas.
I’m pretty happy with this event. It really seems like a LOT going on. WoW Halloween event was pretty much just a couple food items to take and go kill the headless horseman to get your purple items. Its done in your first play session.
Here we have all sorts of things for different people even a new currency with the candy corn. Above all there are no have to have items that improve your stats. I really hated having to run that horseman event a dozen times. Jumping puzzle, scavenger hunt, crafting, costume brawl.
I love that mummy. Stumble around and get behind someone and before they know whats going on. 11111111111 and get your crown.
Why does 1 single thing out of the entire game need to be rare? As if that is good enough for those other playstyles that like rarity. 99% of the game isnt enough for you?
I see a lot of complaining about the rarity of the Halloween chests chances to get a skin and was thinking more on ANet wanting something for everyone in their game design.
This wanting people to play their way and have fun does not mean EVERYTHING in the game is for YOUR personal fun. sPvP, PvE, WvW are an example of this. We have gold, karma, dungeon token/badges, crafting and WvW token/badges as different ways to get end game armor of equal stats so everyone gets the same mechanics but can do it their way. We also have the legendary weapons for that ultra rare aspect.
What we do not have (to my knowledge) is a lot of the ultra rare RNG drops. I personally do not like it but some players do. Some are willing to spend crazy amounts of cash to buy gems so they can run around and show that skin off.
Let those players have have this. Its what is keeping this game sub free. They can be sold to others so nobody is out anything in the end.
