It’s starting to frustrate me a bit that my guild has to avoid certain group compositions so as not to have more than one or maybe two condition-damage-based teammates. Why should we be penalized for wanting to bring a necro and a bleed warrior? But that bleed stack hits 25 and stops moving, and suddenly both characters are doing 2/3 of their normal damage potential. There really should be some sort of compensation for lost stacks past this cap. What are the issues with raising this cap? You’re still balancing individual classes around maximum condition potential. Why the arbitrary nerfing of certain group compositions?

At least necro has viable builds. Come talk to hunter and engineer sometime…
Ah whatever. Necros can come play in the “desperately needs help” club with the rest of us while our guard/thief/war/ele overlords laugh down at us from on high.

Hahahawhat? Kitten you. Engineer is near-useless right now, and their rifle DPS is reduced by design to do less than other classes. Seriously, it’s right in the most recent class design blog. “Penalty to main-hand damage.”
I’d swear my rifle has been doing significantly less damage since the patch, but maybe I’ve just been fighting things with higher defense. I’m still leveling, and moving through Dredgehaunt. Still, everything feels more difficult now, from last week.
Agreed, with the addition that more communication on ALL class boards would be appreciated. Engineers are just feeling the most abandoned right now.
@Arimik, Generally aesthetic as far as I know. Like texture maps applying themselves in places they shouldn’t be, on armors you’re not previewing. As well as lots of clipping of course. I liked being able to see them too, but I can understand why that decision was made. If you have ideas or features you’d like to see I’d say post em on the suggestion forum. I can’t promise it would be implemented, but the more people who say they want something the better!
Well here’s your bloody suggestion thread. You promised us TP previewing and instead removed 2/3 of our already existing previewable content. Clipping? Seriously? You have armor that does this when actively worn in-game. Wonderful priorities. Kitten your kittening designer kittens in the kittening kitten kitten.
(on an entirely unrelated note, the censor on this forum is one of my favorite things ever, so there’s a bit of random positivity amid my complaining)
Any helpful responses? I still haven’t gotten a solid answer on this one. I suck at theorycrafting.
A bit more communication on what’s being worked on would be appreciated. Maybe drop in on the class forums a bit more often; a lot of players are left feeling abandoned, which leads to less incentive to play, which leads to less gem purchases. Seems fairly straightforward. You don’t need to promise people the moon and the stars, just give players a glimpse at what’s being done.

I avoided using grenades out of stubborn dislike, knowing I was nerfing myself. But my warrior curbstomps anything my engineer could do before the nerf, let alone after.
I’m glad they nerfed grenade damage, because it was way out of line — simply put. Now I can play my engineer without feeling like I’m doing less than I should be doing using grenade spam — which I cannot stand. Other builds like pistol/pistol condi becoming viable isn’t a bad thing you know.
They weren’t viable before, and nerfing grenades doesn’t make them viable now. It just means that grenades suck as bad as everything else. (For the record, I hated feeling forced to use grenades too, but other kits needed BUFFS, with a lesser nerf for grenades)
Confirming that my flamethrower now outdamages my grenades.
Anet… please measure FT kit vs ANY OTHER CLASS for me and tell me what’s wrong here?

I almost overlooked the replayability bit in the announcement. Glad I looked over the threads before complaining about time-zone inclusivity. Good way to run it, I’d say.
I had my graphics settings changed randomly. Might double-check that.
So, just logged back in and now everything has this weird blur effect… what happened?
Edit: Patch defaulted my “depth blur” to on… why? O_o
Also, why would anyone ever use that? Why would you blur your character if you zoom out to see? Anyway, problem resolved…

In that case, it would be nice to have an official listing of all official lines of communication. I mean, Reddit? Seriously?
Not just you. Things are going crazy today. Still waiting on an official response that they actually see the issues.
Alternately, things are on fire and they’re too busy to post an update.
Everyone make sure to SUBMIT AN IN-GAME SUPPORT REQUEST. All the errors I’ve seen are at least showing up in your TP transaction history, which means that they can be tracked so you can have your funds/items restored.
Would be nice to get some sort of ANet response, even if it’s just a “we see the problems, and are working on it; no ETA for fixes yet”
Servers are going bat-excrement today, apparently. Trading post stealing money from everyone and constant disconnects on zone along with the login server going down… yeah, time to read a book while they fix things, I think.
It really doesn’t diagnose your problem to be your firewall. It’s just a boilerplate statement that is saying it MUST be YOU, ‘cause it can’t be US! Typical of most companies nowadays.
Yeah, rather irritating. Hopefully the techs will post something about it soon.
NA west coast, can’t log in. Says my firewall is at fault. I’m connected straight to my modem with no intervening hardware, and it was working fine just a little while ago.
