So we can’t complete the monthly achievement tab until that holiday. :/
That is correct, but I’m so happy they are doing this. Having the same monthly acheivement would get pretty old pretty fast. Having content tailored to each month makes it interesting, even if we have to wait a few weeks to finish it. :]
When I walked into that area, the lol’s didn’t stop.
I guess I do get references from my Drama class in high school after all.
Just saying, the way I see it is that a Halloween Event IS a content update. Sure it’s replay-ability will be that of the festivals timeframe, but it gives you something new to do while they can continue to work on more permanent content.
Either way, I’m stoked. :P
I’m really hoping for a different event taking place in every starting city, since surely every race would look at a holiday differently. And then having a grand fiesta in Lion’s Arch where the races come together.
Seriously the way ANet set their game up the possibilities are endless for this event.
Bobbing for Asura anyone?
Yeah, tbh I wasn’t expecting something THAT amazing for Halloween in Tyria 250 years later.
But if any city looks as amazing as that piece of concept art this may be the best holiday event in the history of any MMO ever.
Plus, the possibility of a monthly achievement tied to the event? How is that not awesome?
Seems like a lot more happened this build in terms of cosmetic and artsy stuff.
All my TA armor icons actually look unique now.
No more Chest icon for gloves

“We have identified an issue with the DR system that is causing the bug of rewards being incorrectly diminished. We’re actively working on the situation in anticipation for Monday’s scheduled patch.”
They are fixing it now. If they patched it now who says it’d work.
Everyone complains how they don’t test their patches – yet they want them to rush them at the same time.
Dropped the ball? GW2 is a great game with even greater potential. It’s been out for a month – give it a little bit of time. :F
Ah the Grove, such a great town. The art team did SO WELL on this game :]
I celebrated my Happy Monthiversity on the 25th :P
Dungeon runs (if you aren’t quitting after your first attempt at a new piece of content) usually take 30-60 minutes depending on your group.
With the new system your rewarded with bonus tokens for doing each chain each day.
By investing a good 2 hours into dungeons – you easily get 180ish tokens and can call it quits for the day.
That is pretty casual IMO.
Also remember, the gear you obtain from dungeons is suppose to have some prestige to it, by whining that their too hard your killing the end reward.
1 shot, dead, repair, and run back.
This game doesn’t have the % to block or anything like that – it’s built on actually moving to avoid enemy attacks.
I’ve never been “1 shotted” by any boss doing any real melee attack on me that didn’t have an animation.
There’s a learning curve. Recognize what bosses do – find ways to avoid the huge surge of damage those attacks do… [dodging mechanic] and avoid red circles.
You have to forget what you know about other MMOs and learn to play this one. It’s different, but different isn’t always bad.
facepalm
People complain about endgame, and how the game lacks PvE difficulty at endgame and then come on the dungeon forums about how hard they are. Assuming the threads about dungeon difficulty are making legitimate claims and are not simply trolling; they just aren’t working together with their parties.
I find dungeons fun, I havent had a single run lasting over an hour and have never (to date, fingers crossed) given up on a dungeon bc of difficulty.
Like others who posted that are for the difficulty – try WORKING with your team, their built around the idea that players should work together, hence why it even has listed on the dungeon interface [Recommended Players:5].
ANet has a little tweaking left to do with the DR and rewards systems. But for the most part – the difficulty is pretty solid. In some cases it even needs additional challenge (Final boss in TA – attacks = bugged).
The Shatterer, as others have stated, is not an elder dragon – AND on top of that, one of the first REAL threat bosses you see in the game. It makes sense that it would be doable. If you’ve fought the Claw of Jormag yet, you’ll see how interactive boss fights can be.
I’ve been obtaining far more mats with 20% boost compared to none at all, so I would say yes :P
