Great fun in a small group vs small group situation (10-15 each side I would say) as you can really blast that water field to get your group back up after the initial shock. Went on 1 on 1 against a fellow engineer using mask build and it was a loooooong draw. We just left each other alone after that. That being said I have a lot of room to improve using the build

Idk anything about mask only teldo and medicat sorry, but yeah this build offers so much support it is unimaginable I feel as if it is a must have for a group. If you watched video 3 at 7:16-7:21 I burst healed 13khp in 4.5 seconds, thats quite op not including the long regen you get after that.

There seems to be no Vitality, Healing, Condition gear in S/TPvP. Using just Shaman makes my HP way too low.

What are you guys using to strike a balance in HP, Healing, and Condition damage?

I am also thinking about doing some WvW solo roam practice with this build (I didnt put any gear, but will use mix of Shaman and Apoth), not sure I will actually be able to KILL people, but it also isn’t a pure bunker…will have to play around with it:

This build is meant for group spec in wvw not spvp as I run something different for bunkering points vs healing my group/cc/clear condis/buffing/tank in wvw.

Since switching to this playstyle from both tankcat and Mask’s build, I’m having way more fun. I love what the bomb kit has added, and the fields and blast finishers are just awesome. For some reason this build seems more survivable that the tankcat, and I think it’s because the little bomb circles cause people to dodge and evade, whereas with the tankcat people just keep on spamming their skills. Plus this build has more CCs that allow me to retreat and catch my breath, so I can return to the fight on my terms. Now I don’t think I have the skill to win 1v1s or 1v2+s with it yet because I have a lot of room for improvement, but I can usually stand on the front lines a while, troll, bait, and otherwise support my group.

What is also cool is I don’t think this build is in danger of any serious nerfs because there are no clutch traits or skills. It’s the combination of several varied skills that, in the right hands, cause chaos and wins fights.

Thanks for opening my eyes to this play-style for the engineer. I’m now ready to upgrade from rares to exotics.

Not to talk down on medicat’s build or anything, but if you look at it in a 5v5 group perspective it does nothing against skilled players. They’re just gonna leave the medicat build alone and focus others in your team. But the build I’m using in vid 3 it offers so much more cc/heal/condi removal/buffs/ and high level plays to saving your teammates. And you’re right that this build I can survive a lot longer vs medicat’s build from experience.

sigils I used was life to build 25 stacks of healing first then swap to energy and water (30% chance to heal ally on crit)

Mango Pies (85hp heal per sec) goes well w/ your regen buff for double regen & triple regen if you have a guardian that gives you passive regen w/ virtue of resolve (think thats right) & quadruple regen if you wanna go tank and use runes of the dolyak just to tank only[Cheap 37c]
Loaves of Saffron Bread very useful since the weakness to this build is no stability, so when I know theres lots of cc then I pop it and I think it stacks w/ protection trait so you get -53% damage reduction [Cheap 41c]

Tryhard food for special occasions:
Bowl of Saffron-Mango Ice Cream 10% healing power puts me up to 1745 healing power w/ 25stack of life. Useful for party heal [Expensive 5s 57c]
Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup Extremely useful for almost any situation, I think its most op food in game. Another weakness to this build is shortbow rangers that camp on you with bleedticks.. those will extremely hurt especially binding roots since you’ll lack damage from breaking free. Another weakness is confusion since you’re consistently swapping 3 kits & juggling around 29 skills, the food will counter that confusion stacks no prob. [Expensive 10s 83c]

Alternative Solution for special occasion nourishment
I just buy the ones that are 1 tier under it and its not as expensive

The wrench nourishment:
Tuning crystals w/e tier you feel like buying but the highest tier is expensive 12s 87c

That should set you on your way for everything now, if there is any other nourishment that I forgot, feel free to post it on here.

Another nourishment I’d like to add that is another good one:
Loaf of omnomberrybread gives +100 vitality +70 toughness (8s 70c expensive) can always buy the tier under it

started trying this build out 3 days before you posted your video’s, they were a big help in figuring out a solid build for my self, gotta say this kitten is op, once i got my head around the rotations it was great, easily doing 1v2,3 and winning and when i teamed up with someone it was crazy good, and personally i wouldn’t say your performance was any worse because of the thief’s I’ve roamed with them heaps and its never easy being the only non invis char with thief’s

Indeed its a lil tough tanking/taking aggro of group but I’m fine with it since I know my partner can maintain dps and still survive due to his cloak and dagger. He’s prob the best duo to run w/ by far since he kills quick and efficient, also I don’t have to burst heal him as much as other classes either.

That in the picture is me and before you go and complain on the forums becuase something happened which shouldnt of how about you address the problem by talking to the person about it, i wasnt even aware you could even do this ‘glitch’ in, i was fighting a necro outside and he zoned in mid way through my HS, i was as surprised as you when i ended up inside your tower. So much so i died instantly, i was ressed and instead of go around attacking everyone i made my way upstiars and ran over the wall, what you see there is me healing and running to save my own skin. after that happen i questioned people near mean who saw it at the time and they informed me its possible. That specific tower is famous (or rather, infamous) for this. I’ve ported into that tower unintentionally using guardian sword 2 myself. It’s been like that for months now.

Yeah it happened to a lot of people, can’t blame the players for unintentional/accidental exploits. Its just the anet bugs/glitches or the programming still a little off.

Yeah non-taken the 1st 2 vids were from when I first got my engineer to 80. But you’re right though if you see vid 3 I always have my elixir gun with me now. Tyvm for the feedback!

A very useful tip that I’ll give you that I see all other eng do wrong is using magnet shield off the bat for splash. Only use it if you need to for extra heal otherwise or if you can afford it before next cd, its a life saver/game changer. Use detonate turret first then acid bomb since its 15 sec cd. The magnet shield can be used to push a group out of sr, push enemies off a downed teammate, push enemies off trying to res their allies, and interrupt heal/inc big damage skills or #4 bombb kit skill to get stealth and get away. Sometimes when I know someone is gonna get downed they come near me and I preset a big ol bomb on their body so no1 can get stomp.

there is no rotation but if you made the right traits then your magnet shield should be popping heals like nothing same as acid bomb (lowest cd that I use to splash)and overcharge thats triple splash. If you time it correctly you can go up to 5 splashes by adding the supply crate + pre set your big ol bomb but that is overkill using 5 splashes. 3 splashes will heal your whole group to full hp and cure their conditions no prob and its every 20 seconds. ALSO dont forget you can use regenerating as a water combo if you need extra heals & healing mist you have to be pretty close for everyone to get regen.

yeah the recent confusion nerf my goodness it takes me forever to kill people in 1vN’s but the thing that helps me improve the most is solo roam w/o dps. It helps me get comfortable with swapping between all the kits and combo field smoothly that now its 2nd nature to me, I dont even have to look at my skills cd anymore its awesome.

As you can see I put someone else’s build that is kind of related to my build for a reason. People come ask me for a build I’ve experimented for hours on end, I give it away and they never talk to me again. Then I’d see every eng using this build, sooner or later it’ll get nerfed and all that hardwork would be wasted.

but yeah now since you have the right mindset as in half shaman/half apothecary + same trait lines as me, the traits itself will be very easy to figure out. Good luck on building your team for wvw and hope you find a really good dpser that can maintain damage & sustain damage like my thief can.

bingo QQing you got the right build & trait line, thats the exact same thing im running atm you sir deserve to be a healing engineer. Every other forum posts are silly trait lines or gears, and they dont even show vids of them using it unlike how you see my vids how viable/effective it is in a duo roam or small group speced team.

rofl that is another reason why i used apothecary first then shaman, cause apothecary trinkets cost way too much 50g alone per trinket then 9g for the jewel itself haha. but you can always do fotm for the trinkets, laurels for necklace, guild missions for earrings, then again ain’t nobody got time for that.

ahhh my secret I like to keep it to myself but what makes my build different is I run apothecary armor then trinkets i run shaman to balance out toughness + vitality thats the thing that seperates my build from everyone elses. Trinkets give more bonuses than armor does so yeah now ya know, I do that stuff w/ a lot of my characters I like to mix things up rather than focus just 3 stats.

yeah its on the comments above if you’re asking about traits, I run a different build then that forums post but its similar and you can manipulate it in a way to support your group

the buffs were called “blessings of bear,wolf, raven, snow leopard” its been nerfed now, and you cant use it in wvw anymore

I just started making video’s of my wvw outnumbered experiences finally and I would like as much feedback as possible; positive & negative (appropiate reasons why it was disliked). That way I can decide if I want to continue making vids or stop. I used 3 different builds in each video and these 3 are the ones that I am most comfortable with in a group spec. But the 3rd build by far is my favorite.
