Sorry, I was just somewhat put off by this guy with a great video series that has finely edited videos with wonderful tips, and then suddenly the next video in the series is a completely unedited “outnumbered vs RIOT…but not trolling”.

I apologize for the inconvenience of video being too short and lacking quality. Thought that if there was some nice gameplay in there like my 3rd vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVgGyZMLK_Y), that it’d be enjoyable despite music being on repeat for 15mins, but I guess not. Due to balancing work, school, gym, games, I haven’t been able to obtain quality clips yet. Being dropped into bronze league server matchups also doesn’t help either, its like a ghost town down here. Nonetheless, I shouldn’t let all these obstacles get in the way of making quality videos. I’ll definitely try my best to improve for the upcoming videos for sure!

I have the full 13min clip of it, where you pulled me off after we fought your group, pushing back another +9 man group, then re-engaging w/o cd’s except mass inv, and getting pulled off by you; Then getting zerged down for another 10 mins after our last engage. I will gladly upload it for you, but idk what it would prove or what kind of message you’re trying to convey to everyone. Pulling people off of cliffs is something elementary level, anyone can do it, so its something you shouldn’t be too proud of. Of course I fall off after I’m out of dodge rolls after fighting the other group, but nonetheless gg with the pull.

We’ll see after the celestial nerf or if they really nerf it. If so, I’ll keep you guys updated on the builds. This nerf alone doesn’t stop me from playing shatter mesmer, I’ll keep playing it as if its still viable. Despite many nerfs, shatter mesmer is still viable from my experience.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the 1v3 guild group that you did in the video twice. Nice interrupt on heals, shield block on guardian down state #2, eviscerating at low hp.

I forgot to add elixir gun #4 acid bomb you can do it forward. Just like how I phase retreat dash forward all the time, you can acid bomb forward like rocket boots.

TRICK TO ACID BOMBING FORWARD*** (Similar to phase retreat dashing forward)
1. Go to options tab f11
2. Under movements tab, go to the about face option.
3. Bind a key to the about face.
4. Auto run
5. Left mouse click once while youre auto running and have the elixir kit out.
6. Press your about face button, then press acid bomb and right click after that to keep the running forward.
There you go, you can acid bomb forward every 15 seconds now with the same range as rocket boots.

hey i have a question. i current play a mesmer but i’m working on leveling my engineer for wvw action. my engineer is 34 atm and i was planning on going with the 30/10/0/20/10 build at least that was my original thought mostly for cleanse poison effect. if i were to go with this build is conditions not that big of a deal? especially in fights necromancers

30 10 0 20 0 is the standard build that most condi engi’s run but it isn’t my playstyle.

I like high risk = high rewards, so I don’t bother with 20 in the 2nd to last trait line since I’m used to playing high risk = high reward on my mesmer. In my opinion, I don’t think you deserve or should get a 2nd chance to live with tiny potion (elixir S) if you make 1 bad mistake. The learning curve on how you progress on your skill level is tremendous, but of course you’re gonna die a lot. But thats my opinion on how I improved my gameplay not only on mesmer, but engi also.

Necro’s are a hard counter to condi engi, but timing + playing your skills at the right time and being patient will pay off against them. For the condis, yes they do bother me big time. Thats why I use elixir gun instead of tiny potion or rocket boots.

Why waste a utility on rocket boots or tiny potion when you can use elixir gun for stun break + condi removal + light field + acid bomb (15seconds) vs rocket boots. I liked rocket boots/tiny potion so why not have them both with elixir gun.

A trick I use to help against the condi’s is turret heal but pick it up after for 15second heal if it was a 1v1 situation. Another good thing is elixir gun’s light field can cleanse condi’s also. The #5 light field combo on the elixir gun, I use the throw wrench toolbelt skill for 100% condi removal then auto attack with elixir gun in the #5 lightfield.

You’re welcome, the anti thief tips were from copying thieves skills.
The best one I thoght was counting to 3 after they cnd then blur frenzy the 4th second
to avoid damage from the backstab.
Examples were using sword iLeap and leaving the clone out, then port after was similar to thieves shadow return sword skill.
Magic bullet + covering it up w/ character model is similar to thieves #4 shadow shot to gap close/port to a target.

The tips work well against average thieves, but when you fight against thieves like Mugi then you die regardles, since he plays patient and waits you out :\

The zerg army chased my guild™ to spawn because we kept poking at them for a while and killing off all their over extenders. So they went from southwest tower to or south east spawn but ended up dying from the legendary defenders lol.

Yeah wvw & pve different, but that looks liek a more power based build that does a lot of damage which is good for pve. The downside is the -10% crit damage nerf coming soon since the meta for pve is zerker everything. And idk what they’re gonna do with the celestial armor after patch

I would also consider using modified ammunition instead of napalm specialist. Napalm specialist is nice with this build since you can break the +100% duration threshold with it, but modified ammunition could possibly result in overall higher damage that can’t be cleansed/transferred. I guess the math would have to be done, although if you started slotting carrion gear then modified ammunition would be worth strong consideration.

Perplexity runes would also work well on this build, especially since you’re using the shield, although the little boost in toughness from undead runes is always nice.

Tyvm for the feedback giving it some 2nd thoughts and was looking at dire vs rabid. 1 piece of dire (48 toughness hp 67 condi damage) vs 1 piece of rabid (48 toughness precision 67 condi damage). You are right that its unnecessary to have all that crit though since nades usually crit at least once. But I play glkittenter mesmer and I like critting and having condi’s proc on crit all the time. xD
The traits itself, I’m still tinkering around with a lot of suggestions people giving me and having fun with them. We’ll see how it comes to play when the new “balance” is out.

Me playing shatter mesmer and showing you guys tips/tricks I do to make life easier in outnumbered situations with a guadian. These fights were harder since the people we fought against were decent and invuln/dodge my shatters. Current state of WvW, thieves/pu mesmers roaming, guild groups hammer warriors/guardians, etc.. Its been boring lately due to recent patches and not looking forward to all the nerfs.

+1 I totally agree, this was well thought out and well said. Theres no reward system/ladder/ranking system to have that incentive of improving yourself in this game. You’re not the only one thats losing interest in this game too. $60 usd was well spent but still waiting on another game to come out already.

Thanks! I didn’t feel like playing the standard 30 10 0 20 10 build, it seems too dull compared to having no survival ability at all. I’m used to playing high risk build like shatter with no survival ability, because I believe you shouldn’t get a 2nd chance if you make a mistake. Then the learning progression wouldn’t be as fast in my opinion, but people have their own preferences.

Thanks, I used to be a healing engineer until the new meta with hammers warriors/condi meta. So I’m used to blasting my water fields as often as possible, also I liked rocket boots & tiny potion but I couldn’t have both. Therefore why not have elixir gun with 15 second cd acid bomb that has same range as rocket boots + a stun breaker? xD Then again rocket boots do cleanse immob/chill/cripple.

Torment sigil is strong also, but I think energy is prob one of the most powerful sigil’s in the game since that 1 extra dodge roll can save you in many situations. For clarification: if you have 0-2 clones out and you dodge, you will summon a clone.

If you have 3 clones out and you dodge, nothing will happen.

For clarification: iLeap on hills hasn’t been fixed since beta 1, shattering with 3 clones doesn’t go to the target, only nearby mobs. I have to waste a dodge roll w/ 3 clones out to ensure that I shatter with 3 clones on a target + myself vs some random clones blowing up behind me on ambient mobs in wvw. Both of these hasn’t been fixed since beta 1.

Phase retreating out of stuns/knockdowns causes stuck bug, making me do emotes while I’m fighting in wvw also.

Might wanna fix things that were meant to be fixed long ago before announcing more buggy/broken patches. I appreciate the free monthly content, but quality > quantity especially with the latest buggy patches.

Because I’m still worried about how the 3 piece celestial + 3 zerk armor pieces that me and mugi runs, of how the stat distribution will work on it.

Wow kiting like a champ. There where so many points when i was telling myself he is soooo dead. Ever thought about traiting for the extended blink though, because as you said in the vid comments your crit rate in group is like 100%. Thinking it might be a little more handy in a lot of those fights.

Idk I like the 50 precision and cd on blur frenzy, most of the time I have to stay in range of my group so I can receive all their buffs/heals, so Idk if the range manipulation would be any useful for me. The reason I stayed alive is because of the ele and the guardian, they did all the buffs/heals for me to keep me alive.

Despite all those mistakes, how fast you reacted to adapt and recover on it still amazes me and is a good reason why the skill level is on a different level. I’ll make a list of the high level plays that I thought were awesome that I don’t think many people see soon.

Holy crap thats a lot of mistakes I made, tyvm for taking the time to do all that lol. Now I can use this as a cheat sheet to improve for the next video!

High level plays I thought was awesome and don’t think people saw:
02:46 – phase retreat blink stomp on guardian
03:44 – mass invis and jumped in water to juke since you were slow as a mesmer
04:38 – fadeaway shatter/turnaround burst then move on
05:25 – mass invis turned the other way
05:52 – phase retreat for chaos storm opposite direction/you always maintained chaos armor during the fights
05:58 – while running away you bursted that wa at the same time you were trained
07:02 – fadeaway/turnaround and hitting the group @ disadvantaged odds
08:53 – my favorite when you were super low hp and you turn around and shattered
10:20 – you were stuck but when they pulled you into the group, you blurred frenzy to avoid the aoe damage of their group then phase retreated out quickly
11:02 – blink blurred frenzy shatter instead of typical iLeap blur frenzy shatter combo
11:33 – you downstated but as soon as you got up you shattered everyone and didn’t heal
11:42 – interrupted the warriors heal, don’t see people interrupting intentionally often
12:14 – guardian rooted the ranger walked to him and shatter blur frenzy w/o iLeap and got a double kill with shatter
13:10 – guardian ringed in the warrior, ele updrafted him into your shatter followed by phase retreat stomp
13:37 – you iLeap blur frenzy shatter on engi, as soon as he went stealth from trait, you targeted the thief & cry of frustration to get aoe shatter on both of them while engi was in stealth

^ main reasons why you’re my fav shatter mesmer by far but @ 12:49 I still notice you wait till after you get launched you break stun when anet finally patched that you can break stun instantly haha.

I’m still amazed by how you caught all those plays.. lol

the biggest mistake i saw was your heal timing was terrible. almost always you healed with 0 clones up.

Yeah I need to work on that, most of my clones were blown up or they focused me at the right timing, pressuring me into using my heal with 0 clones. Thanks!

Nice job Mr. Charr Shatter Mes :P. You were so hardcore focused. This is why you don’t run a giant obvious pink charr mes!! It’s like saying: “kill meh”. Besides, HoD is so fun to toy with, as some of their roamers (like the ones in the video) are hilariously bad and are obviously a zergling. Anyway, it is ok you made a lot of mistakes there, you had 5-7 people chasing you the entire time and anyone would feel pressured from that. One thing I did see though is sometimes you forgot to phase retreat when you are stunned. Hopefully I will see ya in January since I am busy with exams and vacation soon.

Tyvm I would love it if everyone posted on my post with all my mistakes, I made so many that I still need to practice/improve on that when I rewatch my vid, smh so much mistakes. :\ Examples were I didn’t spawn clones when I’m running away then heal, missed blink+diversion combo, didn’t blur frenzy when I got trained when I was stuck in sword+pistol, etc. Makes me cry but I wish people would tell me everything I messed up on to get better Tyvm for the feedback also friend I do panic when I do get trained hard still it sucks.

The typical 0 0 10 30 30 build or 0 10 0 30 30 build full clerics. If I’m correct, he posted his build in his old video that I subscribed to long ago or check out Bobwhall’s channel that I also subscribed to. It has all the info on his support guardian build/traits/gear/trinkets/weapons/etc.

Me in solo/group vs some big guild groups, as a dps shatter mesmer. This isn’t zerg busting. It’s guild group busting, and it’s a lot harder than busting random zergs. The guild we fought had an actual team comp that did more than just spam 1 which made it difficult for me to survive in. Build and info is in link; I’ll try my best to answer any other questions as soon as possible. In this vid when its team fights I make LOTS of mistakes and its a good foundation for me to improve my gameplay. Enjoy!
