Since you play shatter mesmer and have to be in close range, I can see in your vid you have trouble with the iLeap bugs where it randomly leaps to random locations. Doesn’t that bother you?

Yeah, it can be very frustrating at times but I just learned to deal with it. Hills/bumpy terrain are the biggest problem for me, so when I engage I make sure I pick an ideal spot that wouldn’t bug out.

looks pretty fun, although slow (one of our downfalls ugh), looks like it’s a kill or be killed cause i’m not getting away type! I started off with shatter builds and they are definitely by far my favorite style. I would Love to try this one out, but being tier1 with lots of zerging + conditions + cc going around i just dont think it’d work out. Think i’m gonna drop tiers pretty soon tho so i’ll def be saving this one

Yeah man I don’t blame you, we were a small server and fought against big servers with blobs that have so much boons.. The downfall to this build is lack of mobility & no condi removals, as of current meta everyones gonna be running condi due to the new nourishment that gives 10% condi duration now which is dumb..

To counter the condi’s in 2v2s-5v5s I use everything the same except the runes I change to hoelbrak and nourishment I change to poulks & leek soup or lemongrass, but both atm are super expensive..

You honestly aren’t the only charr shatter mesmer here. We are endangered though. Anyway, really nice video. Your survival for how squishy you are is impressive, and the damage you do is pretty insane. I would have loved to fight NSP and duel ya but that’s for after leagues.

Sad to say, started roaming March 19 and never seen a shatter mesmer yet. Thats why I made this video to encourage people to play it so I can fight fruity char mesmers also haha.

@Joe: I have to agree with you on the boon strip matter. That traiting will depend a bit on who you can run with though. With a guard ( aka 0 boon strip), boon strip on shatter is probably best.

Yeah most definitely! For 5v5s I’ll always have it up, and in the duo clips on the vid, all of those groups had a guardian except for the clip of the 2v7. The 2v7 clip I was lucky enough to snipe out the guardian before he was able to give boons to all of those thieves.

I use ascended celestial staff with Malign WvW Infusion + ascended zerk sword/pistol with Malign WvW Infusion. 3 piece celestial gear (helm/chest/legs) everything else is zerk.

I build 25 stacks of perception/precision then I swap out to my ascended zerk sword/pistol.

It is very impressed video! I run the same build/weapon/skill like u. Have some questions and appreciate for the answer. First is the use of Mirror Images. I find you like use it after Cry of Frustration. The build is focusing on Mind Wrack. If we do not have 3 illusion alive or the illusion is far away from enemy, the damage will be reduced. I prefer to use it more with Mind Wrack. The second is rune and sigil choice. You use Rune of Hoelbrak which is great condition time reduction and might stack. So why not use sigil of battle to stack more might? And I like the rune of centaur to maintain perma swiftness with endless tonic to avoid heal cd. Will the lack of swiftness can let use outrun thief or warrior? The third is the armor stats. You choose more defensive stat on vitality. Do you think it is better than toughness? Or let them half half?

Yeah you got the runes right, when I have support i swap to divinity and mixed up my gear/stats. The hoelbrak I use when soloing since I have no condi removals, sigil of battle is good but for preference for me, I liked energies the best. Energy works well since I get clones uptime and get more heal/damage for 3 clones up. I actually can’t outrun any of those classes so I end up getting flopped over unless I can outplay them with my ports/decoy. Third I choose more vitality since I end up dying most of the time by condi’s for a greater health pool, I can kind of avoid some of splash damage from random aoe’s but not condi’s. I’ll be sure to post up my stats whenever I finish my last ascended weapon for everyone to see what stats I play with.

I have made some test on monster. Mirror image + cry of frustration = 1200+ damage if all crit, 4 more stack of confusion and 2 more stack of might on us. Thus it is good choice if we can make sure 3 of our illusion can mind wrack the enemy. You know one illusion = 1800+ damage in this build. I really wanna enemy eat full mind wrack damage. Oh I find one more question. Why do you use power oil instead of precision? I think due to the high crit damage, we need to make sure we have very high crit chance.

I do use oils, all my stacks are based off of precision. You are right though I make sure everyone one of my shatters/phant/blurr frenzy/etc. crit. I’ll make sure to post my stats in my next video after I get my ascended weaps.

You always roam in groups and fight when your buddies are there or do you also solo roam? Not to be harsh or something but you do get carried most of the times by your team mates rather than yourself.

Also I would love to see more clips of you guys actually killing people rather than just evading and running of twice your numbers. This can also be skilled and fun to watch, however, your enemies must have patient and skill to actually use skills to block you, rather than just running behind your charr tails and spam 1.

The amount of times I backed out compared to the amount of times I’ve made you go back for repair fee’s is uncountable, actually maybe takes 2 hands to count if you can count that high. Unlike you I have all of it recorded, but I deleted clips like that to save you from the embarrassment and humiliation since I’m nice. You can thank me later.

I knew you were a group spec, as soon as you said 2v2 or 5v5 i knew you were a group build, the thing about cheese builds is that they abuse a mechanism, but have a major flaw, even cheese builds have a weakness, and if not they can be rendered useless if all they do is run away or hide forever.

Im a mesmer . I dont cheese build and my reasoning why i like 1v1s, is because I usually don’t have anyone to rely on most of the times I fight, so for me , my philosophy is all about survival on your own.

group fights are all about focusing one one target and relying on someone else to cover for you when you can’t for yourself, if you like group fights fine, but for me I am all about survival alone and with a group. So I wouldn’t mind, and Im not saying all TM is bad, just the first 2 i fought , but then again everyone has a lvl of skill so it shouldn’t be fair for me to assume about Tm beign bad.

I was one of the tM char mesmers you fought with kevin the guardian that pushed you to spawn with 2 people when you said it was 10vs3. Doesn’t that mean you ran away from 2 people that rely on each other vs 2 people that rely on themselves? Doesn’t that mean you should’ve had the advantage?

2nd Paragraph: Survival on your own? Doesn’t seem fun to just run away all the time if its 1 vs more than 3 in wvw, never mind 1 vs more than 1 if you can do that. You don’t like cheese builds? You asked obs for his condi mesmer build/fotm build, aren’t you contradicting yourself? That statement just collapsed on itself there.

3rd Paragraph: So you’re conclusion is me and kevin are bad for pushing you back to your spawn with 2 when you claimed it was a 10 vs 3, maybe it was my clones when I double shattered your warrior instantly to 0 many times. Everything you said so far refer’s to you only playing 1v1 or like 1v1’s, so how much do you really know about group spec when I’ve been playing that since March 19, 2013. All your statements you talk so proudly about yourself has been 1v1 related, so I guess you really don’t know anything about group spec.

Hey guys heres my newest vid 5, the first 2 clips were healing engineer that I mained, but solo roaming on healing eng has no damage. So had to play shatter mes solo in outnumbered situations. The beginning starts off slow but it progresses from 1v1 to 1v2 then 1vX later on.

The build its meant for small man group play vs outnumbered odds, but I do 1v1 or 1vs zerg to practice my rotations better.

Would you mind sharing your thoughts on use of the Elixir Gun? Right now I tend to only switch to it after everything else is on cooldown, thus I’m not using it tactically. Yeah I see the Acid Bomb blast finisher for healing and escape. And yeah I see the heals and light field from Super Elixir. Do you find the EG auto-attack of any value? Do you make tactical use of EG 2 and 3? What are your favorite EG uses?

Yes elixir gun I use #2 for cripple for my thief to burst a target down if we’re chasing, but in group fight i rarely use it. #3 skill furnigate I use when I’m in a 5 man but duo with my thief he clears condition in stealth.
