The anti PU build comments, the ‘cheese’ comments are imo, unneeded.

Although I don’t currently run a pu condi build, it was nice for roaming because when I roam, I don’t have an entourage to fill holes in my build. I need all the escapes and all the tricks I can use.

Being glassy high dps is the surest way to eat the dirt soon and often when constantly outnumbered and not in an organized group.

I wasn’t trying to make fun of any builds or you, I don’t mind PU phant/condi builds. It only bothers me when people use those builds, stomp me to the ground and brag about how good they are. Other then that I apologize if I unintentionally offended you and any others on here, and I agree that saying all that was unnecessary. Guess I was having a lil heated moment sorry.

I disagree. It depends on the skill level of the player. If you are new to shatter, then yes you will die a lot. However, if you have played it a while (like Joe) then you can survive outnumbered and win because of decision making and outplaying the opponents. He was in silver league fighting server populations way higher than his, he knows how to survive :P.

Just out of curiosity, how come you don’t play the current cheese meta pu condi mes or pu phant mes? From what I’ve been noticing, those builds is more popular than the shatter build you’re playing, and everyone is posting 1v1s vs your outnumbered series and for some reason they’re more popular. And the other shatter builds I’ve seen so far hasn’t been top notch like yours in outnumbered/team fights.

Never played the pu condi/phant meta builds, no offense, but in my honest opinion the reward for playing such a easy gimmick build doesn’t offer any high end rewards. An example is not ALL but most of those builds I see 1v1 don’t ever dodge/do high level plays/doesn’t do anything in team fights/don’t improve reaction timing. I watch some of those builds take on full ce from eles or hb from wa’s smh its really outrageous. Such an easy build allows so many room for errors w/o getting punished severely for it. Shatter mesmer for group play on the other hand, anything can kill me in 1 shot but like I said, high rewards = high risk which makes the class very fun to me.

Another thing I’d like to add is when I see mesmer videos and they open with their mass invis smh.. The build allows them to blow their cd’s instantly instead of reserving them for tight situations.. Since they just spam invis all the time it allows them to not dodge big attacks/break with shatter spec.

Also like to add 3:55 & 7:16 those stomps… you dont see much mesmers blink/phase retreat stomp or blink stomp, and 9:26 my favorite part. @ 9:26 was that like 3v+10? no upscales/guild groups? You were the only dps and you had 2 supports but you survived taking on that group with a glass spec.. I’m still amazed by how youre able to dps and take on the aggro at same time..

I can’t take all of the credit, gotta give credit to the 2 support classes that carried me during that 3vs+10 @ 9:26. Thanks to Glaezer [Holy](Support Guardian) & Rackin Stacks [SPCA](Healing Engineer) they kept my hp high as possible w/ support buffs & cc’ing the group, while I was dps’ing down that decent sized group.

Lols now i know why you dps you are sick of never getting any credit as support.

That is one of the reasons, but also all the people I play with are going support so they needed another dps besides I Am Mugi, Stalagta, Kevin Mr Spca, The Lad Guy. But yeah support classes don’t get enough credit for what they contribute in team fights, an example is when I played healing engi w/ I Am Mugi. He’s super popular with everyone while no1 knows who I am haha.

Maybe make a guide. Toss in some how to phase retreat blink stomp(i flipped when i was still new to mesmer and saw wafflez do that). Guides always seem to up the views of the person who released them, but honestly add your anti thief clone kiting and other tricks.

3) How do you deal with condition removal? Do you just kill everything before they kill you? Also, what do you think of the iDisenchanter instead of Mirror Images? It would give you more illusions/sec assuming you cast in on cooldown and would give you condition removal, but you would lose the stunbreak and the burst potential MI provides.

Well my preference is going maxed burst as possible because idk how many times I’ve bursted someone and their hp is like 1%-25% or all the times. The travelers are nice but most of the time when I’m 2vX-5vX we just stay in place and fight or line of sight or maybe once in a while kite out the zerg to disperse them. My other vids as you can see we just move maybe to a lil different location to fight then just stay their for the rest of the time.

The celestial 3 piece armor + 1 2h celestial staff allows me to have 116%cd in 20 20 0 0 30 or 126% cd with 10 30 0 0 30 build to maximize potential burst, w/ gaining extra survival ability to my defensive stats. Staff is for my defense, sword + pistol is for my offense when I go in for the burst.

Solo roaming I always die to condi’s so I just don’t bother engaging or run away, not that I have an ego or worried about bruised egos. I just don’t wanna waste my time fighting something that’d easily melt me w/o effort, then run to spawn and build stacks all over again. Then I wouldn’t have any clips or vids out if it was that way. Solely the main reason why I just duo roam or 5vX with a support guard/engi that can cleanse/heal me. And youre right about it, everytime I fight its a DPS race. Kill before I get killed since I’m shatter, the disenchanter is good but the mirror image is readily available for the 2nd shatter when I snipe a specific target in a zerg.

how you have bloodlust .. but in the guide you use only sigil of energy and +5% crit dmg

I have 2 sets of weapons, 1 sword and pistol with 25 stacks of sigil of perception for the extra crit chance. Once I have 25 stacks, I swap back into my ascended main sets.

Hard to solo in silver league, when fights are like guantlet. Fight 1, 1 more comes in then they increase exponentially. Teams fights are fun regardless, since you have to rely on the team and have awareness of when to hit or kite away.

Good job on your 1st vid, like the edit with 3 2 1 and my burst. Didn’t see any mistakes except for the earth ele spawn on accident other then that, burning speed blink combo and other combos you did in the vid was awesome. Just realized that the zerg popped orange swords on us, thought it was only 10 lol.

Love the play style of shatter aswell and been playing it since i hit 80 in WvW.
In regards to zerg/solo and condition weakness I sometimes swap boon strip for
torch trait. It gives you alot of defense both from the extra stealth and the huge amount of condition removal you get.

Phantasmal Mage 18 sec cd = 2 condi removal every 18 sec (1 on summon 1 on mage cast)
The prestige 24 sec cd = 1 condi etc..

You do miss out on alot of damage vs. the offhand sword or pistol (i prefer offhand sword) but get alot of added survivability.

Yeah that looks good, idk its just all on preference. I like to play offensive/aggressive with the magic bullet interrupts after shatter or before shatter.

I like the energy its prob one of the most powerful sigil in the game that 1 extra dodge. Staff I use it defensively to get away idk if i’d use it for offensive since its slow damage.

I’m glass to begin with so I’d die to everything anyways, even if I can outrun zergs they’d chase me till I die, especially thieves that can port and catch me. Using speed defensively to run away is w/e to me, but offensively my targets get away from me fairly often which is annoying. But I learn to accept that weakness including condi resistance as a flaw to my build. If builds didn’t have weaknesses then this game would be boring.

I’m trying to make shatter mesmer work for roaming.
Right now I’m using phantasm/shatter hybrid build from osicat (because celestial gear is too expensive), I just changed the rune with centaur because of the speed (but i’ve lost 10% crit).

Don’t buy celestial gear, just buy the quartz crystal and charge it daily which will take 15 days. But the recipes themselves are expensive around 20-30g. If you do plan on getting celestial, save up the charged crystals and wait till end of the year for ascended armor. An alternative route is my old full zerk build w/ ruby orbs if you don’t have enough for travelers or divinity. If you can roam/survive in full zerk then you will do 2x better in the main set after you finish crafting it.

The thing is, in every shatter video from you or osicat I can see that with the combo:
3 clones Diversion, 3 clones blurred frenzy + MW you can kill almost everyone.

Well when I try this combo I can’t even kill an upperlevel.
Yesterday I fought against an engineer upperlevel and he ran away with a few hp.
Then I’ve found an elementalist upperlevel he also ran away.
I’ve fought with a guardian, I barely took 1/3 of his life, he killed me with 2 shots.
I found a rogue condi, he killed me before my Illusionary leap reached him.
I fought with a warrior hammer/gs for about 10mins. every time he reached half life he could just run away, When I tried to run away he could reach me all the time. With hammer F1 he could take half of my hp.

Things to account for:
1. Shatter close range not far, next is notice I dodge roll before I shatter, so my clones hit the target not some random mobs away from my target, that way you don’t lose too much dps.
2. I’m in full ascended using highest dps food.
3. Don’t be discouraged, the scaling w/ uplevels in this game are broken. There is no formula/algorithm for them. 4. In my video I mostly fought squishies like glass guardian, thieves, eles. I was extremely lucky in those clips as compared to when I usually roam against full pvt bunker classes like hammer warrior. When I fully shatter a full pvt wa then it only brings him down to 1/4 or 1/2 hp then the fight ends up in a stalement since I’d just kite him out most of the time.

I would love to master the shatter build because is very funny to use but I don’t really understand how you guys can kill all that people so fast and without taking damages.
What happen to me is that, Engineer, guardian, warrior, elementalist get invul as soon as my clones start running. When I do staff #2 I can see the warrior hammer leap on the exact point where I teleport and I need to use decoy to get rid of it, then my cd are over.

I mean, are those video’s real daily fights or just some very bad players that you’ve killed?

Just to let you know I’m not a total noob, with my hybrid condi/phantasm build I can do 1v4 and kill them all or escape when I want. I can go alone against a zerg, kill one of them and run.

The people I kill in my vid are daily, I don’t stumble across many great players since the competitive level in this game isn’t high due to no high rewards for skill, and we’re fighting big servers. The probability of finding good players in ratio to the amount of players that zerg in other servers is miniscule.

1. Always try to maintain 3 clones up = 9% extra damage/more healing/more damage when you shatter.
2. Shatter pointblank range (extremely hard against ranged classes)
3. Max out your gear to ascended level + use good nourishments
4. Be lucky and fight against squishy people (careful of their burst also)

Tried out this build must say it is really solid, but how do you do against 1v1s w/ thieves and other classes, and also condi specs? I keep dying to pesky thieves and condi meta classes.

This build isn’t meant for 1v1’s I mean sure you can win a couple, but in reality I lose all 1v1s against the current meta of condi mesmers/phant mesmers, thieves, necros, etc.

Most of the time I just duo roam with a support like a guardian or support healing engineer. 2vX catches my attention more and is a lot more enjoyable in my opinion.

How come you use evon gnashblade/dress so bright/and jump around so much doesn’t it make you an easier target to pick apart from the clones?

Despite all that, you have swap bug + illusionary leap on top of all that stuff you do that would make it easier for people to fight you, doesn’t it bother you in any way?

Aside that I learned a lot from your solid stat distribution on your gear its awesome, and the phase retreat stomps + style points.

I do that all because of the current state of the game of many mindless zerglings only using 1 1 1. Despite giving them a handicap and the mesmer nerf when they nerfed blurred frenzy/distortion to evade instead of invuln, and dying still in blurred frenzy/invuln, doesnt make much of a difference. Not that I’m saying im the best or anything or making fun of anet, but there is no reward/ranking system for people to strive to being better as such in 2v2s-5v5s. I like giving myself a handicap and challenge but the ratio of good players to inexperienced players is pretty much outrageous.

Well to be fair, phantasm and condi mesmers are much easier to play, which attracts bad/mediocre players. Shatter actually has risk vs reward to it.

Yeah I agree, I don’t mind the fotm condi mesmer or phantasm mesmers. It just bothers me when people brag about how good they are with those spec and think they’re good when they poop on me in 1v1s.

With all this tough guy talk, I’d like to see all the proclaimed many small mans from both servers to fight my small man guild. If I’m fighting condi’s then I have same gear but swap to hoelbrak set 3 piece celestial, ascended celestial staff and rest berserker. Nourishments against condi’s leek soup or lemongrass.

Sorry our impromptu fight club got zerged. A lot of people could learn a lot more about their classes if they left the comfort zone of a zerg. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, SPCA are some of the most skilled individual players I’ve come across on GW2. It was a lot of fun trying to fight you and your friends, we’ll have to try it again later this week.
