Do we actually know that for sure? Because the Humans believe the Gods made Tyria, and even the Charr have legends regarding Melandru creating the world, but admit it grudgingly?

Well as for the OP, currently there’s alot of guilds out there lore wise, with the most obvious being Destiny’s Edge, and they have quite the pull influence/politics wise (source: every single personal story pre-choosing of order!) and guilds regularly head into the mists to fight invaders (see the WvW lore thread!), however on a GoT sort of depth, possibly not.

Thank you for digging. The first link was certainly an interesting read that I hadn’t remembered from GW1.
However theres a note in there regarding that Facets appear close to shrines of the Gods, so it may be we just haven’t found the right shrine yet, or that this wasn’t designed for lore’s sake but simply for a spawn location. I didn’t note anything in there to imply that the Facet’s would disappear as the God’s drew silent though.

You are correct, I did misinterpreted a few things. Firstly I had presumed that “During the last rise of the Elder Dragons, they forged the original Bloodstone to contain all untainted magic, including the jotun’s.” implied that magic from all the races had been included in the bloodstone.

And what I think I am not understanding is that Jeff is implying the Facet’s simply appeared, rather than be created.
If the God’s created them then it stands to reason they created them in an image for a reason, whereas if they just appeared because of a God’s power and the reflection from the harnessing of Zhaitan’s power then that explains (at least partly) why they look draconic.

However if Glint can create Facet’s then why is it we see no Facet’s of the EDs? Were Glint’s Facets created using power drawn from Kralkatorrik? Or did Glint harness other powers (such as Divine) to create her Facets? And if in hiding from the ED why would she then use powers linked to an ED?

P.S. Reading my first post seemed a little confrontational, it wasn’t meant as so! Also what is your reference for Dwayna bringing the forgotten? Can’t find any info on that.

We didn’t kill them all though, the wiki page states there are a lot more than we can observe through the game.
“However, there are more Facets than have been observed and it is currently unknown if they all take the same form. "

And I can’t imagine the Facets were just created from Zhaitan’s power when they played with the bloodstone….
Also the fact that some of the Facets were put in place by Glint to defend her lair, while others were used by the Gods, taken from Jeff:
“They are not the gods themselves, but rather ghostly servants, and are tied to the Forgotten, who are not minions of the Elder Dragons.”

The Forgotten pooled alot of their un-corrupted magic into the Bloodstone, along with the other four races’ magic, so we can’t assume that their appearance came from Zhaitan.

Also this would then imply that the God’s magic source is the Bloodstone, which makes no sense if your statement is correct…

Ok, so we met alot of the facets of the gods in GW1, they appeared as semi-transparent dragons (glint size).

But where are they now? The gods may have disappeared, but the avatars still have a presence, and the gods answer prayers. So surely they still have enough influence over the world for their facets to remain.

Also this begs the question, why do they appear dragon-like if they are similar to the gods.
Where are they?
