I just had another thought too – perhaps some guilds on TC would be interested in GvG if we decreased the headcount on our side. I might be able to convince Alaric to partake in a 15 v 20 or 20 v 30 if any of you guys are interested. At least it’d be a starting point. I can’t speak for the other guilds on FA.
Not good enough. We’ll do 5 vs. 20. Your 5 are all axe rangers with green gear and no off-hand weapons. We get to use food buffs, you don’t. Your 5 have to role play that you’re fairies lost in a wood and being attacked by ogres. Alaric has to go by the name Gingerwings and sing commands in a falsetto voice. We get to wear our wizard robes. See ya there.
But what if they use pets? Then it would be a 10v20, so not fair.
Almost all the guilds in FA are skilled and can go toe to toes against even numbers. Imagine what they can do when they have coverage like TC.
Stop playing by Tuesday and spend the rest of the week on the forums asking people to GvG?
TC got rolled for months in T2, but we kept showing up and fighting. FA has enough people to win, you just don’t seem to care much whether you do or not.
Yes, we did have similar coverage to TC before they imported 50% of CD.
As for GvG, again, if someone is going to make posts bragging about their guilds ripping apart other guilds on the first day of reset, expect people to gain interest and ask for challenges — especially when many guilds on our server have made it known they want to GvG. It’s just sad when those challenges go unanswered and makes me wonder why those people even post in the first place because everyone knows they’re full of kitten. We’ve seen all of these guilds on the field.
Also, FA was rolled in T3 for months. TC did quite a bit of the rolling. It’ll happen again in T2. It’s not a big deal. From the posts and your strategy, I understand many of you on TC find great joy sitting in towers or attacking unmanned towers. That’s fine. That excites you and gives your the almighty PPT.
Many on FA like different aspects of the game. Destroying enemy zergs with half their people. Taking a hotly contested tower, setting up siege, dropping magic find bonfires, and farming the enemy. That’s exciting for many on FA.
Why would we waste our time playing the population game when the population just isn’t there? The race to form the next biggest server is not something we want on FA. I’m playing Guild Wars 2 not Sim City.
Furious, the fact that you knew that I ate bran flakes this morning is proof that FA has more spies in TC than Fantastic Gift, the mighty siege turning kitten who apparently has no use on an actual battlefield.

I think its more the case that we have so many RPers that some of them are bound to RP as spies every now and then. The cloak and dagger aspect is very appealing.
Honestly, I LOVE our sentries/scouts that give out information in an RP format. Who cares if it’s 2 paragraphs to say “X amount of Y server heading to Z location through A point while taking out B point.”
the best way to counter this would have to be a Debuff Invisible one that is That at 30 min. If you havent moved in 30 min Forward only THat mean The W KEY ONLY.
This would Make them stand out because if they are W moving into a wall like a stupid AI would you can tell hes a toxic player.
I dont see any con to this because unless you are kitten and want to go backward all the time. Which i don’t see pro player doing that.
But I don’t have W or any key binded to moving forward, does this mean I’ll keep getting kicked? Think first.

We’re fortunate to have many people who enjoy doing those things which many consider -chores- or -a painfully boring experience-, but they’re awesome and should feel awesome. They know that they’re helping us a lot and we make sure to remind them of how important they are, and that also leads to others wanting to take up those roles.
The information flow… it gets pretty hectic at times. >.<
We have a ton of Necromancers with us and we hardly have issues against retaliation, our Engineers and other similar classes don’t get insta gibbed anymore after having a Necromancer effort to get more for us.
On the topic of this match-up and the various statements about it, this here is perhaps the best way to show just what things are like. Filter for our 3 servers by clicking the boxes at lower left and you’ll get a very clear picture.
You just let a scout get by to give the enemy team information regarding your group’s location so they can get comfortable on the terrain/location they choose to fight you and gain a big advantage.
I didn’t know those were up and just had a look at the leader boards.
Does anyone else think that the leader boards are just kitten?
Outside of exporting the data to a google doc, I am not sure if they could have made it any more basic and useless. The matchup website is far better and will continue to be my source, and for the things like achievements and pvp they could have at least put the ability to filter by time block or server.
I just wonder what goes on sometimes at ANET. Given limited resources we have the options of: 1) create a useful and interesting leader board and get cool stats in play like for example, how many commanders you have killed, how many of class X you have killed or been killed by, etc, etc. that people will enjoy for the entire time they play the game or 2) create super adventure box that folks can play for a week before getting completely bored of it (took me less than an hour while on a conference call to get bored) and never bother going there again, much like Southsun Cove.
Just plain painful to watch a company kitten away the potential of an entire portion of the game.

The people who worked on the Super Adventure Box probably don’t know much/anything about the technicalities for Leaderboards, unless you want resources taken out of the SAB group to have them sit around and chat with the Leaderboard’s group about how exciting this matchup thread is and not have any work done.
First time poking in this thread. I know there’s been a huge uproar about our moving to TC and I can only say we moved to just have some fights.
You want fights so you transfer to the largest, most active server in the tier? For most of the day (NA) TC’s zerg is so gigantic that you have to run from it.
It really ticks me off how TC was so gung-ho about “supporting” our recruitment efforts, yet look who is getting all the transfers. I have a sneaking suspicion that the days of a competitive T2 are rapidly nearing an end.

I play a full Cleric’s Engineer using Bomb Heals and Elixir Gun and just amass my bags with loot, rares, and lots of badges. I also use my Full Cleric’s Guardian with shouts and get tons of loot.
As a player from Tarnished Coast I believe that Kaineng is a great opponent and a great friend-like server to us. They rose up from the bottom receiving hate from the lower tiers, and I’m sure that the rise to T2 was strenuous on them. But it seems that it was all well worth it, because now they are a core part of T2 bringing awesome fights, awesome people, awesome guilds, and with a personality that helped shape T2 into what it is now. Kaineng is a splendid server and needs NA guilds/people to help them out.
NA people/guilds, go to Kaineng and join one of the more friendly and intense tiers in the NA Ladder for WvW. You won’t regret it, and we TC won’t regret having transfers go to them, because they deserve it. Help Tier 2’s evolution by helping balance the power to be evened out to everyone’s wants!
We all love this tier and a large part of that is because of the three server involved. I do not believe the situation in Kaineng is all doom and gloom but there are some valid concerns bought up by a few Kaineng players, primarily the lack of NA and not having a large enough PVE population to draw players in from.
Instead of just worrying about it lets do something about it then. Lets help Kaineng recruit by bumping their thread by sharing our positive thoughts and opinions on Kaineng. I know TC got a lot of love from Kaineng and BG players alike to make our recruitment thread be very effective in recruiting individual players and small guilds. Lets do the same for them. I urge FA players to do the same.
How accurate is this statement? I’m concerned about Kaineng, because they have been awesome opponents the whole time we’ve been with you guys in T2. Seeing that there’s a chance at Kaineng imploding… I don’t think T2 will be the same.
It has just come to my attention that yaksbend has formed and unionized all dolyaks to be under their control. If you do not submit yourselves to yaks, they will stop your transfers of supply to keeps.
Will we hold it? You can count on us to try our hardest to do so while having fun. But… we still have some seats we’ve been keeping warm for anyone that wants to come aboard the Zombie Coast. The server who never gives up despite the odds, the server who tries their best to have fun while being relentless in their WvW adventures!
Have your sentries tick the siege to prevent the despawn. This also allows you to allow bad siege placement to despawn and make room for better siege at times.
You guys are getting along fine. I just transferred from BG to TC after getting tired of the ridiculous mega-zerging and skill lag that is T1 WvW and i can say that your thread is excellent and really fun to read. If you are prepared for some hardcore cringe, go check out the JQ-BG-SoR thread. Be warned though.
Transferred off BG for the same reason. TC is great compared to BG once I found a great group to stick with. Lots more fun
Good to hear theres more that are doing this. Tranfered off of Bg as well but went to FA. Went with the least zergy server. Definitly quality over quantity. Not sure Tc knows any other way but to zerg something.
It’s not that we deliberately sit down and try to make the biggest Zergball at times, it’s just that some of our Commanders and Guilds attract too many people. If word gets out that key Commanders and Guilds are on a map, I can almost guarantee that people will come out just to have a blast with them. And it’s mostly not due to wiping everything, it’s because it’s hilariously fun with those people.
Map chat is awesome and filled with laughter along with all sorts of other funny stuff people do.
I just had a look at Kaineng’s secret strategy for winning every week, but I would like them to post it here before it gets sent to all the major guild leaders.
