Good day,

I prefer an PS build as well, but that may just be because of the fact Iám not that good at playing an Ele. However i’ve seen plenty of PUG runs where we had trouble keeping might up at all times even with an might stacking Ele and my PS Warrior. Long story short…I hope someone else with more experience at playing Ele will answer this. I need to know as well.

The Thief one seems preety OP.

“Thief – Shadow Sanctuary
[Deception] You gain: +200 toughness, protection, regen, aegis and “health regen”. Blind foes around you. You are blinded as well, ends when you try to attack.

Cast time: instant
Duration: 6 seconds
Range: 600
Cooldown: 150 seconds
Note’s: “health regen” is equal to halve of the health regen a player would gain when he/she gets out of combat."

So you gain 200 toughness + 33% damage reduction from protection and you still have blind in a 600? range radius and aegis plus regeneration and “health regen”.

Instacast with 6 seconds duration?

With that elite thiefs wont need to hide anymore.

The idea is to bring back “Shadow Sanctuary” from GW1. It still ends when you make any attempt to attack. And I agree that it seems OP.

While we’re on the concept of new Elite ideas:

Friend or Foe – Mesmer Elite
Hex all enemies in the target area, causing them to become unable to tell friend from foe for a short duration. They will perceive everyone as an enemy, though they will not be able to cause harm to targets which are their allies.
Duration: 6 seconds
Number of targets: 5
Cooldown: 90 seconds
What happens is that all enemies hit can only see “Illusionary foe” over any player character, who all look like a Phantasm of the Mesmer with a mesmer-version of the weapon type they’re holding. They will seemingly be able to harm them, but no debuffs still and no damage sticks. Health steadily moves up and down though so it’s difficult to tell who you are affecting and who you are not hitting.

I like this idea, whoever I’am worried about the concept about boons/conditions being applied by foes when they see “everyone is alike”.

OP maybe, yes. But this just a suggestion. Maybe the block duration should be around 7-9 seconds, but still be able to get buffed by the " sure footed" trait. And you only block “melee” attacks, ranged and spells excluded.

I like these, some are weak, some seem okay. But the idea is basically that they are more powerful Utilities. The only thing is, the skills that interact with boons/conditions, Stun and daze are not conditions, just as Haste is not a boon.

My mistake about the haste not being a boon. But the idea is: chill makes you activate slower, while haste makes your skills activate faster. So I tough it would be a nice counter-meassure on the “chilled” condition.

[Stance] You block all “melee” attacks for a period of time and retaliate to your attacker.

Note’s: Does not sync with defiance stance, can stack duration with “sure footed” trait.

Guardian – Rebirth:
Revives 1 fallen (defeated-not downed) ally with 75% health and bring him/her next to you in melee range. Skill losses success-rate the more the skill is used during the fight.

1st cast: 100% success rate;
2nd cast: 75% success rate;
3rd cast: 50% success rate;
4th cast: 25% success rate;
5th+ cast: 0% success rate;

Range: 1200

Note’s: Losses success-rate the more the skill is used during the same fight

Water: Regen/Aegis
Air: Haste/Vigor
Earth: Stability/Protection

Mesmer – Illusionary Weaponry

Cooldown: 80 seconds
Note’s: “Extra damage” is equal to the damage of 1 “auto attack” on skill 1: main-hand, including critical chance.

So I was trying my best to guide 4 people trough COE P1. Almost at the end of the last boss and four guys from the same guild decided their guildie had more right to the reward then I did…

I will not ask why the party kick system hasn’t been altered yet, but I do like to ask if some kind GM is willing to at least give me the 60 tokens I was supposed to receive. 60 tokens may not be much, but I see this is a matter principes. Kicking someone who literately carried you trough the dungeon, shame on you..

Since I cannot review the party chat from this party, Iam not able to report these people. Another suggestion to be considered altering for GW2.

How to handle staff guardians?

It has been proven that there are better weapon combination for a guardian than using staff. For as far as I know the GS – Sword/Focus combo has the highest DPS rotation, correct me if iam wrong. But…the point is, maybe that this player doesn’t feel comfortble while using other weps so far or he/she has yet to figure out how to work with the other weps. If such a player refuses to adapt to the party’s needs for the dungeon, try to make the most out of his staff 4, or kindly ask him/her to leave the party (since you asked for a zerk group right?). Remember, while pugging it will always be a surpise who you will get in your party.

Even the corner stack trick has made the so-called OP Kohler not so OP anymore. Just 1 Ele with fgs and reflects plus condi remove should do the trick.

Cond damage is currently in a weird spot, very strong in PvP and really bad in PvE.

Agreed, for dungeons it be best to have 1 conditionmancer (necromancer?) so that player can make most use if the condition stacks. More than 2 players spamming condition would do the party no good and direct has no stack cap.

Good day fellow Guild Wars 2 players and Developers,

For quite some time now, the “Condition Damage” is being quite underrated. Probably because most players see higher damage values in direct damage, more than using conditions. This has put me thinking on some suggestion to help improve the style of using indirect damage. Right now all conditions have a stacking-cap, which means you have to “share” in a specific condition stack (let’s take bleeding for an example".

My Necromancer has a condition damage around 1400 (give or take) without any buffs or corruption stack. My necromancer can get a bleed stack of 20 (could be less or more) on an enemy.

My guild mate who joins the battlefield is purely direct-damage based, but he can also use condition attacks. He can get a bleed stack around 10, but with a condition damage of 200 points. Much lower than my necromancer, but we share this cap on the bleed stack of the same enemy.

This means that this guild mate greatly reduces my condition build damage, because he is using up the bleed stack, my necromancer could put to much better use…

So to prevent that the higher condition damage is being overruled by lower ones, both damage counters should be separated from each other. The next edited picture will show you what I mean (no judgment on the crappy screen editing please )

I’ve played guardian since I started playing GW2, I actually feel most comfortble when playing guard, however I do dislike the low base health. A War has like 8k hp more base hp but the guardian has more party-supports (at least that’s what I think). The guardian is and will always be my main, one way or the other I can keep adjusting my guardian build no matter the buffs or nerfs. Iám also using a very mixed setup, so my main can act as a “jack of all trades” guy. People in my guild and regulars ask me to play guardian during dungeons most of the time.

I was hoping that Arena Net would add dragonite ore to the dungeon reward chests. Maybe they can add one more way to obtain these crafting material for the dedicated dungeon player. Doing world events is great and all, but checking these events every time is not my style.

So…What do other players think of this suggestion?

A guild mate and I discussed about the healing amount a thief would gain while killing an ambient creature (rabbit, frog, crab ect). It would be very funny if you almost defeated a random thief in WvW and the thief decides to kill a random passing by ambient creature, only so the thief could fully heal it’s Hp.

I remember a skill in Guild Wars 1 for the Assassin profession called “Way of Perfection”. This skill allowed the assassin to regain health on every critical hit they made.

Why did Arena net choose not to use this is as the name of this new upcoming trait?
(even considered that there is a difference between the thief- and assassin profession.

Good day,

I’m offering (new)players aid (free of charge) in building their build-setup. I’ve noticed on my server (Far Shiver Peaks) that a decent amount of players are asking for help with how to build their gear and trait setup.

As for me, I recently leveled my 10th character to level 80 and I use different build setups for all professions. Therefore, I hope I will be able to help other players with building their gear/trait setup or giving them advice about leveling their characters.

Feel free to mail/whisper me in-game and add the following information about:

- Which profession you need help with;
- Which weapons and utility’s you prefer to use;
- Which play style you like to use (direct damage, condition, supports ect.);

My specialty is builds being used for PVE and dungeons.

  • Please keep in mind that I will generated builds based on the information I receive and my personal in-game build experience. I cannot promise that the builds I generate will be “perfect” ones. Also, there are a lot “Meta-builds” out there.

A perspective on legendary crafting

I heard that Arena net is adding new ways to obtain a precursor weapon, hopefully by crafting. It would really help the players with bad luck (such as myself) to obtain a legendary weapon at the end.

But to craft a precursor to begin with, players should be putting effort many different aspects of the game such as: dungeons, wvw, pve, world events and crafting (obviously).

I do hope to obtain a legendary weapon once, mainly by participating in the aspects I just named.

To be honest, I don’t think there is any " best" build. But if you want I would give you my warrior-build I’m currently building.

It’s a full Soldier’s warrior build..

What you want to do is saving your adrenaline bar so get some extra damage (percentage depends on how many bars are filled) and extra healing every 3 seconds.

Also the -5 sec wep-swap trait gives even more dps because of the might stack. The two sup energy is just what I prefer, but keep in mind to take at least 1 of them.

This is may not be a “full-on dps build”, But I find the 3200-3300 armour and 26k + hp very handy as well..

Note: you will have to upgrade your exotic trinkets to ascended tier to use AR ofcourse

What a coincidence, A guild mate and I just discussed about this “Ranger in dungeons” issue. This guild mate of mine has Ranger of it’s own, yet it’s a very good ranger for dungeon runs. This character does not use any zerk-trinkets for that matter.

But to the topic at hand: I think most people have to see the values in playing a Ranger. If they don’t know about these “values”, well…..you know from your own experience what happens next if you enter a dungeon PUG.

When my guild is running dungeons, we don’t expect someone to bring a heavy-class or full zerker, I think PUG should think the same as we do. But, that’s just my opninion.

No dungeons for lower Lv characters

As the topic suggest, I have noticed that characters under level 80 have a hard time to participate in dungeons. Mostly in PUG-groups to be precise. It seems everyone expects you to use a lv 80 character and to use full berserker gear.

I for one, find character leveling with the use of dungeons much more fun then exploring the map or anything else. But since the character I want to train has yet to be lv 80, I get kicked most of the time or people want me to switch.

My suggestion:
Should there be some balancing, so people are most likely not to kick you from PUG’s?
I have yet to think of a solution how this “balancing” would look like.

I would like to hear other people’s opinion on this matter…
