If that thread gets locked, I will again, create another one. This botting bullkitten is pissing me off. Eventually this amazing game will be broken and people will begin to quit. This isn’t a subscription based game (unfortunately) so people already don’t feel committed.
I CANNOT EVEN FARM IN THIS GAME. THE WORST/ MOST ANNOYING THING TO DO IN MMOS and I cannot do it. So what do you expect me to do Arena Net? Sit and wait for you to slowly ban bots? The way you are handling this situation is bothering a great many of your playerbase. My FIRST response was one that shows you guys don’t handle situations well with the public.
I use a partial set. use a sigil of luck in your weapon, peach tart and half a set. get over 100MF and you will find good kitten.
I was ok with 4-5 bots at every single karma event in orr. By ok, I mean I can tolerate farming for kitten against 5 zombies that will ultimately turn this farm into gold and then real life money.
Today I go back and find that there are easily 10-15 bots at every single event i go to just sitting around or walking in the exact same path. when a mob pops up, they are either running to it and shooting instantly (absolutely zero delay from spawn to attacking), or they are teleporting to it, no matter where they are and out of range for ANY class skill.
So now i am competing against 15 zombies that have perfect reaction time and teleport hacks. This is BREAKING THE GAME.
I want to know what you guys are doing about this. Taking a look at the economy from a legendary item standpoint, they are breaking the game and allowing players to run the exotic market, in time this will devistate the economy overall because the money they are making now is inflating things that shoudn’t be inflated and lowering things that should be higher priced.
I am not the only one turned off by this. Please give us some information. IT IS NOT HARD TO SPOT A BOTTER. Send a gm to every server, have them walk around and find botters and terminate their accounts. It’s so simple. Pay them minimum wage. kitten PAY ME TO DO IT. HELL, ILL DO IT FOR FREE. Seriously though. speed this kitten up.
No, this was not mesmer portals. I like to consider myself at least an intelligent player. I have world complete, run my own tournament team, know almost 100% of every class skills and when to use them. Run my own WVW raid night and am working on my legendary. I don’t see how people can come in and confuse themselves with SPEED HACKING and a mesmer portal.
TO BE MORE PRECISE, these players were teleporting from one spot to another, roughly 100 range apart constantly while attacking. They can run in a circle around you at roughly 4 times the normal speed of running without swiftness. The can pop in, hit you for half your health and then run away. they are out of comabt before you are, heal to full and come back in to hit you again. CC works on them but not cripple. It only slows them down to 3 times the normal run speed. This is breaking the game and arena net needs to fix it or announce to us the numbers banned.
Seriously? I haven’t complained about a single thing with this game until I get a group of 15 core players from my guild into WvW. We had a good 2 hour battle and then finally realize something. The enemy team is hacking. 20+ of them are hacking around the map at roughly 4x normal running speed.
This is beyond broken and I can’t even report them for it. I hope this is being worked on. Game breakingly bad.
No. I drive my car from point A to point B to get there faster. If I could teleport to a block away from my job, I would walk there every single day.
The ONLY reason mounts should ever be implemented would be for cosmetics. There should NEVER be a movement speed buff, any sort of trolling with them (covering mobs).
The real issue here is simple. People have played a game FOR YEARS. They have become so attached to that game that they miss the functions that this game had. They know that this game is better in every way shape and form, yet they still feel a lack of something missing from their in game life. Mounts are not the only aspect of this absence but it is one of the easiest to implement.
It’s just not a suggestion that the entire community wants. Mind you, a large base of players played GW1 and are mainly against it. They should be focusing on many more things than mounts/faster travel.
There seems to be a lot of players who cannot get around the fact that they cant sit on a giant mammoth in town while they afk. Fast travel just doesn’t cut it for this breed of players.
Because of this, I came up with a suggestion just as viable as adding mounts to this already incredible game.
REMOVE WAYPOINTS. Let’s force everyone to run around without any sort of faster travel. let’s make guardians all use a staff so they HAVE to spam symbol to run faster around the world. This will build the confidence around the waypoint system (which I find to be amazing. Not to mention the cost of using them keeps money ACTUALLY USEFUL in this game.
The balance of money sinks and ways to make money is nearly perfect in this game. Just like the waypoint system. Learn to use it. Your 100 mounts that are in the bank in Orgrimmar are dead, along with your Tauren. Get over it.

I don’t know what hole you play in but I am concerned as to why you think inspecting a player to see gear (instead of asking them to link you their gear, getting trolled or bashed for asking or possibly speaking to an afk player) would be abused. I CANNOT WAIT to abuse the INSPECT OPTION! I am going to inspect the kitten out of everyone!
/follow? Botting happens regardless. It will be handled the same way current botters are and without hitting mobs, you gain nothing. You can already go and sit down in a defensive event to get points. Your issue with /follow is dumb.
Dueling? DUELING. He didn’t ask for an SPVP tournament for players who want to 1v1. He asked for a dueling option. Meaning, I come up to you, right click your name and hit duel. If you accept it, I would crush you and the duel would then be over. They don’t balance around duels, just like you could always hit **********no**********.
Some of the suggestions on these forums are otherwordly and amazing. Some of them are kitten poor. The same goes for the responses by what seems to be trolls or players who speak without logic/intelligence.
Please revisit Cooking it's not a very attractive crafting profession anymore.

Cooking is fine. Suggestion -1.
Cooking was designed for purposes that it is currently serving. If there was a way for you to crumble the dye market, it would devalue cooking as a craft.
Just an opinion but a guild that size is just plain stupid. You cannot organize anything that would allow your entire guild to be a part of the same thing. You would need dozens of leaders in charge of all aspects of the game.
If you DO have 500 players, I can guarantee that they are not all active and if they are, your community is already split. It gets to a point where too many players hurts you. wait until someone gets the bright idea to start their own guild with 50 of your players and watch it crumble.
Focus on your 500 is my point. Not trying to be an kitten, but don’t suggest something so silly.

As a community, we need the Kodans. (I believe those are the polar bear race?). Very insane design.
Also, I don’t know if this is a hidden race or something to be implemented in the future, but there is a race of avian-like beings in the starting sylvari zone that talk about their home and how it is locked up to other races. How they trade for what they need, when they need it. Awesome idea.
I am sure it is safe to say that the vast majority of players enjoy achievements and titles. So far with Guild Wars 2, I have noticed that this aspect of the game is lacking in a major way. Most of the achievements are easy or are just titled wrong when it comes to your title reward. This game doesn’t give me the feeling that I should work towards a title.
Titles are too hard to see for other players. Let’s face itm the only reason we get titles is to stroke our own kitten.
Commander has a freaking INSANE recognition bonus (on the map of all things). Nothing else gives this. There should be an option to display your title to everyone around you without them having to click on you. Let us have our freedom of kitten stroking!
If you are having to literally run away from mobs, you are very bad at this game. I am sorry if this sounds like I am attacking you with this post. This is not my intention! I am just tired of reading people seriously cry about it being TOO HARD to solo?
It is as if you expect everything except events to be solo play. some players like to group up.
Every single class has utilities and a dodge. these used in combonation can get you anywhere in the game alone. Learn.
OOOOH better idea. just like overflow, join the normal server always but have the option to switch to the hostile server (exactly like overflow with all other servers joining). continue playing until you see an enemy. groups are your only friends. 5 player roaming parties. sick.
Open world pvp would actually be fun in this game. Mind blowingly fun. MAKE A HOSTILE SERVER. It’s not like we can kill someone and steal a oricalchum vein. we both get it and then he dies.
I put all my eggs into the basket that is Arena Net. I am playing GW2 regardless of what happens or is released. Just throwing this out there.
Blizzard failed me and I followed them from Warcraft 1 when I was in elementary school playing that game everyday after school (I was a nerd, don’t judge me fools!).
I hate to say it, but I feel that SPvP is the only hop for GW2. There are too many differences that people ENJOY in PVE for it to succeed in GW2. The dungeons just aren’t fun. They are a grindfest for gear that does nothing. there is absolutely NO reason to PVE in this game. Their (All players on the same level and skill makes the difference) was AMAZING FOR PVP. Do not EVER change that idea. PVE however, it’s a stupid idea that breaks your end game for 50% of your playerbase (assuming pvp/pve is a 50/50).
We need to see something more with pvp in this game or the base will drop and that means profit drops. Keep your players happy and give us something.

Zane, you hit it 100%.
I am not against multiple guilds but we need a system in place that will allow for guilds to continue to grow while not representing. I don’t mean grow as in influence. I mean GROW as a community.
My primary issue was multiple PVP guilds just to guild hop when one guild has more active players on. the problem with that is that when these people are in the other guild, mine begins to look inactive, thus losing players. It’s an issue NO guild leader wants to have to deal with when they log in.
Nels, in no way, shape, or form do I have bad recruitment skills. I recruited every single player with the requirement of repping my guild ONLY while they pvp. I have no issues with other guilds/pve/wvw/friends guilds. My issue is with the large amount of players who just don’t understand that building a guild takes the effort of the GUILD. These players are destroying ALL guilds. When paid tournaments come out, most pvp guilds will break apart because they are forming around pugging tournaments instead of forming GUILD TEAMS.
MAJOR issue for all guild leaders. Please read this/give feedback

Look, I liked the idea of being able to be in multiple guilds at first. I thought it was a great gesture at being able to focus on one thing as a guild and be in another that focuses on something else.
WvWvW guilds, PVE guilds, Tournament team guilds, Real Life friend guild….great setup for any gamer.
The problem I am having and the suggestion I want to make are as follows.
The problem – I am trying to run a tournament team guild that focuses on SPvP/pug tournament groups and CORE tournament groups. I spent the last week recruiting all range of players from good to bad. I tried to not be elitist and have open doors to anyone on the server. I TRIED TO BUILD A COMMUNITY OF SPVP PLAYERS.
This sounded great to every single person I spoke with. Had well over 75 players recruited in 3 days. (I recruit very well). However, I log on today and notice that 25 players are online, 15 of those players are not representing the guild. I ask them to represent us when they pvp (as this was the only guild requirement). 10 of them respond with (I am pvping in another pvp guild at the moment). I have players who are in multiple pvp guilds just to hop around and pug tournaments. During this timeframe I noticed 2 players left the guild. When I asked why, their response was “Not enough players active in guild”. LITERALLY 25 players are pvping, running tournament groups, pugging, or just running around heart of the mists testing their builds but because of the representing issue, it looks like guilds are inactive.
This is KILLING GUILDS. The only guilds that are not having an issue with this are guilds that do not care about losing members. mass recruit guilds. There is nothing in place to build guilds with loyal members who work for something. This game makes new guilds forming a nightmare for the guild leader. Organizing large functions is a joke because people get mad at you when you ask them to represent the guild.
I just kicked 75% of my members out and became a tournament team only guild. we have 4 tournament teams that have their own set times. My dream of having a community SPvP guild are shattered.
The solution – REMOVE THE ABILITY TO BE IN MORE THAN 1 GUILD. Please : )
I haven’t tested much there but it certainly makes sense to have combat drop faster there….or fix the dummies to not keep you in combat.

I was honestly expecting very little posts with this thread.
However I am excited at the amount of players continuing to QQ about the same things lol.
As far as most of you, please stop crying. Look at all of your abilities as a 5 man team and go from there. I WILL SAY THIS, quickness seems like if anything WAS out of balance, this would be it. I have NEVER had a issue with a thief. Even when they did have quickness. 100B warriors make me laugh and every single time I am standing over their dead body while I finish capping the point i tell them in /say “One trick pony is stronk”.
This game is EXCEPTIONAL and you guys just need to take a step back and rethink your approach to SPvP. Drop everything you know about 1v1 and focus on who is WITH YOU when you fight. Counter your issues with the help of your allies.
Guardians are great point holders and can keep players off of a point long enough to at least neutralize it. Have you tried playing against a good engineer? They do it better.
Mesmers are fine. Learn to kill the right one or aoe them all down when he is dumb enough not to dodge away.
100B warriors = dodge (you get 2 of those unless you go with the right weapon swap to get 3!).
Thief = They get an aoe invis to prevent death. Guess what. Guardians get a 10 second bubble to prevent it also. Elementalists get a shield to prevent it. Other classes have other utilities to prevent death/ensure death.
I don’t notice many players using stability. What you will begin to see in paid tournaments are teams that utilize quickness, knockbacks, stability. the reason we have so many players crying is because the vast majority use cookiecutter max damage specs. Easily played, easily killed.
The idea behind this is to learn your class, think of it from a team aspect and not individually. Everyone cries about one class in particular when the ONLY THING we should be seeing on the forums is a issue with a team of 5 players together. individually, you shouldn’t have an issue if you take off your panties and put some big boy pants on (exluding the ladies).
And if you do need time to talk strategy, you probably are not going to win the game because you aren’t good. Strats are set in place and require on the ball decisions to overcome changes. the only strat you should go over in the 30 seconds should be “ok they have class X, let’s do this differently” and go.

Agreed. Shorten the time. Tournaments are for players who already have everything set up. I am tired of waiting for people to even join the game because they are busy looking at gear in their locker.

However, I will say that it seems that elementalist is the hardest class to master in pvp. The best Ele’s I have played with have mastered kiting. They also have a shield to prevent knockback during finishing moves. Very versatile class when coupled with a support/stability/interrupt Guardian on assaulting. Good thing I have that Ele on my tournament team : )
Misty, I can understand that you are annoyed at having to play against guardians/mesmers. They are the easiest class to learn and understand in pvp. Players have not yet learned how to efficiently play their classes is all. However, I cannot agree with how often you fight teams of that makeup. The typical makeup you are going to see (As I have done hundreds of tournaments since release) Is Guardian, mesmer, thief, necromancer, and warrior. This setup is very sound across all 3 maps. you can mix up 1-2 of them for other classes or repeats. But yes, as for supporting/stability/interrupting, the guardian and mesmer do an exceptional job.
Diage, While underwater combat does bring less survivability, realize that it does this for all classes. It is more offensive but it is very balanced. I RARELY die when i go ruins and I play a vit/toughness/power guardian. You have to use your attacks wisely. Burst someone down, use your pull or sink to finish them off and for the love of god DODGE. I see too many players sitting still and attacking. Nothing changes in the water. The constant movement is still needed. Also having different utilities in water makes a big difference. Why not go for sword, hammer, shield utilities? Secure the ruins and then use your sharks to defend. Works out very well for me and anyone else I work with in game.
I just wanted to create a thread that highlighted some of the amazing aspects of this game and it’s SPvP. I figured that most people wanted to read about issues so they can troll/flame.
Yeah, people don’t like to go into the water and take the ruins. Why not, I feel that it is an amazing map with some SWEET potential. You can simply take that map and turn it into a king of the hill using the central ship as the base.
So people are mad about tournaments and not finding the free tournaments fun. The game is still new and has presented us with some pretty kitten GOOD pvp compared to most games out there. Fun and innovative. Nearly perfect balance between classes/maps.
Dont forget about what they are working on. Spectator mode is going to be awesome. Esports is great. New maps will come in time but what we don’t want is too many maps that will throw off balance for Esports.
Give them time to work on perfecting something that is already pretty kitten close. Enjoy yourselves and get your tournament teams ready!

Robin. Do you really think it is going to make it worse? You already have the spammers. All you are doing is adding the small amount of players that are passing through cities to level/explore. This wouldn’t make the channel bigger. It would allow players to DISPERSE from Lions Arch and into other cities.
There will always be the same amount of players in town as players want to be in town. It just allows us to actually USE major cities.
Plus, if you role play, then you must not have very much fun roleplaying with the NPCs. Or you are annoying to the players just passing through.

Also, think about legendary items for a second. About how long it takes to make a legendary weapon and what you really get out of it. Looks. The vast majority of players are turned off by legendary weapons because of the lack of feeling like you accomplished anything. I can buy an exotic for 2g and beat the crap out of the guy with a legendary because at the end of the day, I am still better. I know that this is the point, but you have to come up with SOMETHING that makes them worthwhile. giving bonuses for PVE would be just that.
I know you can do it arena net. You guys are freaking amazing. best company in the industry by far and you know it : )
I am not expecting a ton of man hours to go into PVE. I know that the focus is on SPvP and Esports. Also WvW. PVE is the weakest point in the game and you cannot deny the fact that you have nothing to work towards except better looking gear and in most cases, that is up for debate as well.
My suggestion is to think about reworking the style of PVE. do a rework of gear in WvW so that it is balanced but make us work for PVE gear that increases stats. The number ONE reason millions get sucked into WOW is because they are gaining something for their countless hours of grinding. Though it may be small, seeing the damage increase, the damage mitigation, and feeling REAL progression really gives us a sense of accomplishment.
And let’s face it, you tried to create something that doesn’t feel “grindy” and it is still a grind but with less benefit. Capture the PVE base, you will grow your GW community rapidly.
By kicking inactive players, you gain a better perception from your players who are active. NOBODY likes logging into the game to see a guild of 400 players, 200 online and then talking in guild and nobody responding because 150 of them are representing other guilds. It is a broken system and needs a major adjustment to allow the leaders of guilds to manage their players efficiently.

This is a VERY frustrating issue that needs to be addressed. I am an avid believer in a single guild. I won’t go into how terrible allowing 4 guilds hurts community guilds. At least allow us to clean up our guilds and monitor who doesn’t even log on.
I am deeply saddened that nobody uses the main cities for anything once they have completed it/hit level 80.
My suggestion is this, since you cannot trade person to person (meaning there is no reason for us to all be in lions arch), and to increase playerbase in major cities, make map chat link across all cities. This will reduce overflow servers for lions arch, allow guilds/groups to gather in their specified city, and ultimately give us a bigger feel of the world as we hit 80.
Don’t get me wrong, Lions Arch is great, but There is zero reason to go to the other major cities.

I have tried out every aspect of guardian and I found healing power to be my primary stat. I focus on healing, vitality and precision in PVE and WvW. However, in PVP I focus on Power, Vit, Toughness.
The reason healing works so well in WvW and PVE is because you have static targets that can recieve a ton of healing. While this may be the case, you still need the correct spec/utilities. No healing guardian should be without symbols that heal or the ability that teleports to the allie with the lowest health to heal them. I am also very fond of using the support ability that creates a healing bubble that enemies cannot enter. My build is 0, 0, 20, 30, 20. I am fairly certain that is it (I am at work ><). use a hammer and a mace/shield. get THREE 2 piece sets for gear. 1 for 20% protection duration ,1 for 15% protection duration and 1 for boon duration (water). With this setup, you will stack protection to 15 seconds on long fights and on doors/bosses in WvW. constant healing and book for good measure to top everyone with a full heal.
