thats it… im gonna roll one of the new Iron man classes.. these are definitely OP.

the fly hack seems to be pretty common now, bet it wont be around more than a few more weeks though. that is a huge game breaker and should be getting patched soon, or having some sort of auto ban upon detection coming at some point

come on, lets face it, we are in a world where it is much easier for people to find loopholes in programming… as the programming becomes more complex, and brand new systems are developed for things…. new exploits and hacks are found and have to be dealt with.

obviously a net doesnt want anyone cheating in WvW.. this doesn’t get them ANY money… unlike blizzard and D3 where they profit from cheaters who sell tons of items.

Anet wants to keep player base because that is who supplies their money, consistent play.

just give them some room. they are a small team working on huge things. and i have faith they will get to it as soon as they can, and the other 500 things people want including updates and new content items as well

this morning, we had a group of 30-35 players in ET, taking some objectives back. in eb we took maybe 4 differnt things, and then went straight to the SBI borderlands… we were met with a strong defense there… in the borderlands… at 1 am! people were just waiting in large numbers from HoD for us to get there (and some from SBI).

and while we fougth a large number of people in the borderlands with our small group (that had the outmanned buff). all of the towers we took in EB, became green in a amtter of 15 minutes…. where we were outmanned as well.

even if you don’t have a queue, it doesnt mean that there aren’t significantly more people on the field than anyone else.

please tell me the reason HoD pulled ahead during the Na off prime hours was because they finally all decided to start playing, and were just sand bagging for fun the whole weekend when everybody had queues?

its a problem with the programming itself, because many times you can die to an unrendered group, and then upon dying, the entire group becomes visible at once.

there IS a problem with it, and anet stated there was.. we just have to wait for a fix.

people like you are just looking for opportunities to flame and get other player defensive. You could say the same about any other guild.

unforunately people get a bad rap for leaving a server after helping it a bit. look at what happened to the whole Northern shiverpeaks thing.

better strategy? maybe you werent there for the weekend when HoD was last during even coverage times. and then only ONLY pulled ahead during weekday off prime numbers time.

I just want to point out. SBI and ET, the two servers complaining about the HoD “night-capping,” have had Heavy and Medium populations, respectively, throughout the night. The problem isn’t that you don’t have people playing; you just don’t have people queuing.

Edit: I understand that other servers do in fact have very low nighttime populations, but then again, you only need 500 people to cap WvW.

of course, every server has a huge number of people…. the full servers are pushing ridiculous numbers of people and only 1k queue at a time for WvW on those servers… we obviously aren’t talking server population, because ET is in the top tier with medium pop. and the only other medium pops are kaineng and devonas rest.

the server pop itself has nothing to do with the fact that no one is queuing, because only a certain portion of people playing the game in general will be queuing for WvW, and likewise for Spvp…. cant say i have ever done Spvp yet except in beta either. so count me out of that population. same can be said for 95% of my guild as well.

it is of course, the number of people participating in WvW on given servers.

And my point is:

A server with 20k+ players currently playing on it (correct me if I am wrong, I remember ArenaNet saying they increased server caps to 40K, and just conservatively estimating that “heavy” = 50% of the server online) can’t field 500 players to WvW?

a server could still have 100k population and still only get 300 people at a time in WvW….. the difference is that servers like hendge have people who flocked to it specifically for the purpose of WvW after it was on the top bracket and ended up being the popularity vote for server transfers….

First off let me say that I have no hatred towards any server for any reason, so take this as more of a rhetorical and conversing opinions, rather than a hate finger pointing thread. I will start by saying that I am a part of the HoD server, and it has been very nice being in the top dog server of WvW. Who wouldn’t be proud of that? We worked for it, people can say what they want but I have never seen such organization and loyalty of guilds and just everybody working together in an MMO like I have in GW2/HoD server.

With that being said… it is quite obvious we are losing this round. Do I think it is fair what SBI and ET are doing? Sure, it is fairplay to team up and willingly have your server(ET) lose so SBI can take the win all for our server to not be the top dog anymore. My reason for posting this thread though is… why? Let’s be honest here, two servers had to organize in massive forms and team up against one server. For being in third place at the moment we are doing pretty good as well. But again… what is this hatred and reason to team up against us? Let’s look at the end-game of this battle…

Let’s say SBI wins. ….did you really? Or did you contract out ET to help your server with that victory? I mean technically by the books you will win, but by the fact that we all know as a gaming community you teamed up because you simply couldn’t do it alone… that is not really a victory, rather than a “shared victory”. So even if/when we do lose this overall battle, we will still TECHNICALLY be unbeatable even in 3rd place, as in not one server has yet to beat us by themselves.

Now ET I just feel bad for you guys. I mean look at what you’ve done. You realized you simply couldn’t take SBI let alone HoD, so you were contracted(teamed up) like sweatshop workers all for to raise the point bar of SBI. There is no victory or achievement, let alone any sense of excitement out of that. I mean sure, it was probably fun stomping on us here and there along side SBI, but you really didn’t do it… you were more of a support then anything.

I will end with this. My hope is that in future battles of servers, if you/r server has to fall back and use this ideal to team up against with a server to beat ONE other server, then at least openly admit it and accept that you aren’t really winning anything other than a easy advantage. It is 3 people getting in a ring together, all fighting for one goal, and two of the fighters jumping the other fighter until he goes down, then one of the two “jumping” fighters, accepts defeat as well so one can one.

does HoD really win just because they do more PvDoor than sbi and et? should you claim any kind of victory because you win when there are no opponents?

we (et) knew what we were going up against, it was going to be a race to push either us or sbi so far ahead in points that it was going to be more than a day before you could recover through night capping, which we knew would happen… strategy eludes you my friend, both et and sbi knew what happens on HoD side… in fact. the entire community does, you can’t hide behind lies anymore, everyone knows how bloated the qeueus are on weekdays compared to normal servers.

OP.. please… use the door, and do it in a way that it doesn’t hit you on the way out, typical HoD thread

we can try to fight all we want, but we can’t field full battlefields 24/7 with guilds only… it takes pug forces round the clock to fill in large and small gaps sometimes…. and when your server wakes up to being night capped by an NA server full of EU players….. it discourages the masses from bothering to do any WvW, because all of the hard work of staying even are completely gone…

after that, you’ll be lucky to find 1/10th the amount of unguilded people joining in for WvW.. its just the way it is. and the guild on the servers, even the huge alliances and such, just can’t keep things full up for any amount of time being realistic.

i suggest transferring to any other server, find one that suits you best and go for it..

more people should be like you, because honestly.. who wants to wait 5 hours to play a boring game because its so 1 sided during a time when less people are on?

i can tell that my server apprently doesn’t lol… from 10 pm til 10 am we had outmanned buffs in 3 of 4 zones tonight… new lows because of how staggering the night forces are on hendge

everybody wants a good fight.. (ok well not everybody some people are perfectly content with 6 hour queues and claiming 1st place through door farming).

but some people have to step up, and get to a place where that fight can be had. we all had a huge blast during the weekend when the scores were close and it was a tough fight all around, regardless of all the propaganda…. and its painfully obvious that neither server vs hendge right now, has the forces to compete at night, and it just throws the whole game off.

nah it won’t be…. ET downfall perhaps, but not GW2 WvW in general.. you’re over exaggerating things….. if ET fall there is always JQ….

but the same things happen over and over. ground is just retaken during the time when the other server has issues keeping people in.

its not just 1 bracket, its in multiple brackets, US and EU.

transferring for people who want to be on a winning server is as simple as clicking a button, and a lot of people really don’t care about server pride as long as they are on the best server. more people will eventually transfer to HoD until an equally bloated server is put on the board and has a force to equal that one 24/7

it’s clear from the score ET doesn’t have a night time presence or they would have at least 100 points potential even pugs can make that happen.

When ET went vs IoJ and SoS their lead was so big it made up for the night time loss and they eventually stopped doing massive siege.

On the weekend when henge had full resistance they choked and was losing as soon as sunday night came they starting gaining ground.

everybody sees this, and i hope Anet figures a fix or alleviation to it soon, or else hendge will be the downfall of US WvW… nobody wants to play a good game for an entire weekend, only to have to lose it due to sheer numbers of 1 server for the rest of the week, and then have to hear people gloat about it like they did something amazing, like coming back from a 30k deficit by capping unpopulated areas

its obvious that people on hendge that are not part of guilds, don’t care about it either, as they have nothing to lose by switching servers, they just want to win even if they only play an hour a day due to queues.

and as soon as a solution for guild transfers goes in, guilds won’t have excuses either to spread out and make the fights more enjoyable for the rest of the WvW community. from the second and third tier on down. it should be epic, evenly matched fights all around.. not 1 sided victories because of silly reasons like having more players at off times due to EU rolling US and vise versa.

it was not very fun in the second tier, steamrolling two other servers simply because they didnt have th enumbers and got so far behind that no one wanted to queue anymore over there.

HoD did poorly at the start not because they were being 2v1’ed… but because of their lack of experience at dealing with 2v1. On the Green Map last week, Dreadfall Bay and Bluebriar were being constantly 2v1’ed by JQ and HoD. After a week of practice, we were much more used to that tactic was much less effective, encouraging ET to attack HoD more often. JQ would very infrequently attack HoD, even when encountering massive resistance or if it was not profitible/practical to attack SBI.

Garrioson traded hands about five or six times the first night of being 2v1’ed. By the third day their defenses were much stronger, and I imagine 2v1 would not work as often against that same group.

My point is: Justifying night-capping because of being 2v1’ed in a 3 player map is really silly. One has nothing to do with the other, and skill can make you overcome even the most aggressive teams pounding away at your gates. No skill will let you overcome being outmanned and losing everything, however.

truth, they just don’t want to admit that they don’t have experience dealing with servers that field equal numbers… they did poorly because they are used to just steamrolling things and not having to worry about organized groups taking things back.

but then the weekend ends, and so do most of the days queues for the other servers, and they get ahead through sheer numbers alone.

unfortunately all you hear when you aren’t HoD, is how its your fault for not collecting oceanics before they all fell into Hendge’s gravitational pull of win.

excuse me, don’t put words in anyones mouth. thai and ph don’t make up enough to fill an entire BG, and i didn’t see many tonight, they may be off doing other things, who knows.. they might have just saw the fact that we put in all the effort to stay ahead during the weekend, only to get overrun in every borderland at night because thai and PH hang out in EB mostly.

fact remains that in the end, HoD has far superior coverage throughout, and loses when its even.

ET aren’t true pvpers if they dont win or cant win they just whine and quit, WoW fall back. Never deserved to be in the top tier fights to begin with. SBI yes ET no.

sorry. but trying to discredit people simply due to a lack of players at a certain time isn’t what we do.. it may be HoD’s thing, but when no one logs on due to night time defeats, then there isn’t anything you can do but take some stuff, hold it, cap some more, and do it til you log off.

not everyone gets to have coverage 90% of the entire time and claim to be “skilled”

once the fights are more even and everybody has near the same coverage. we will see what happened on the weekend when we all had coverage…. HoD. behind, because they are so used to just night capping to win all the time.

I saw something weird from Ruin guild earlier in the day on SBI borderlands. They all got on about 30-40 of them. They retook bottom half of map in 30 mins and vanished. As soon as they left ET lost everything again. When organized they can stop HoD…but no guilds on so cant win.

its just how it is.. when you can spawn 30-40 people into a borderland…. and take objectives… all coming from EB.. and then spawn 30-40 people right back into EB.

the problem is not that people leave an area… its that they can leave and join areas so easily which means there is no one occupying these areas in numbers.

concerning a lot of threads about “night capping”.

apparently on the EU side, they have a server or two that basically win a ton due to “night capping”. this capping during the night leads to issues where a server clearly dominates because they end up having more people on all the time than the other two servers, so no matter how hard fought the battle is, from monday-friday, the battle belongs to the one who has the “night” crew..

for EU, this is american guilds and players that roll EU servers.

for US, this is european guilds and player that roll US servers.

i think we all know the names of the 2 servers that ended up getting the brunt of these players for obvious reasons.

now, there are a ton of “fix WvW this way” threads, all talking about adjusting points, adjusting this and that.

but in reality the only real problem with WvW is the player distribution… and Anet already has them split up into 2 sections that are what the other one wants.

US servers want more EU players to play during their “night” and EU, want more US to play in their “night”… it is a 24 hour persistent world after all.

but why…. with all of the servers out there currently, can’t arena net get rid of 1/4 of all the servers, and then merge the EU with the US based on their ranking and active player base through an extensive search into which ones are most compatable to provide the best experience to all?

it may put some strain on the servers in ways that basically would be dealt with in the future through server upgrades, which i imagine would come soon as they have definately made a lot of money through in game sales… i know a few guildies who have dropped well over 500 already. people love the game, thats all there is to it, it will flourish.

back to the topic.

by combining EU with US, you give everyone what they want for WvW in terms of balance…. you get a place to play that essentially has an even playing field (or as even as it gets honestly).

the servers that previously didnt have any oceanic presence and get left in the dust, would recieve enough people to make it interesting, the same can be said for the EU servers that previously had no US players to speak of.

it may not be a perfect merger, and some servers may experience increased wait times of up to an hour or two for WvW during times that normally would have no queues… but queues are the nature of this game right now.. having a Queue is a double edged sword in all respects….. if you have a queue, it means GOOD!!!!! we have lots of people playing and no shortage of people on the field of battle!!!… and it means BAD!!!! i have to wait an hour or so to get in!!!!…… but finding the happy place where people will always have someone fighting on their side, and won’t have to wait a ridiculously long time unless they decide to roll on an already overpopulated server… will eventually balance out, but only if we have the US and EU playing together…

obviously there are problems when you are talking about german and french servers (and the others). but apparently there are places that the french and german are already playing… and even on my server there are multiple korean guilds that don’t have much problem as they play together.

so any thoughts about this would be good, and hopefully it becomes a topic that arena net themselves can look at, and think about, and realize that this is one of the few things that could help WvW get pushed in the right direction.

1. Send a spy on each of the other servers.

Even if there is a 24hr Cool down on realm transfers who cares. Person still know all the Zergs know where to attack know where to take over without any resistance.

2. Merge with other realms

Most Russian/French guilds and worlds do this. They will dominate maps and you only own the starting location.
What they do is attack same realm at same time and share half the map.

3. We notice that Xoax guild one shot all our Siege on walls and destroy it with Elementalist lighting exploit. We still try to figure out how they do it. Don’t waste to much money/time/upgrades on keeps etc. They can take it over in 1min.

4. Merge with EU <—-> US

By doing this you have EU people play on your Server when all is asleep.
When they tired then US people take over and play again.

Combine all above and there is even more…

This how you will never win at all!!!!

pish posh… no european players rolled specifically on hendge just to get an advantage and pretend to be good…. never…

wait…..

anet needs to abolish “euro” servers, and let the rest of them join with the US, make a few more servers and now we have a spread out night crew for everyone

this works to our advantage sometimes, and sometimes not

when running ahead of a pack, i literally ran straight through a group of 10 defenders…. right through them, they didnt even look like they were targeting me… all this while we were attacking a keep… its just ridiculous though.

anet doesnt realize, we would rather play with SOME lag, than have to play vs invisible enemies all night.

somehow during bwe2 we had fights numbering in the 60s on both ends.. and had no problems.. but now, even with zone caps, they have to put in rendering issues for all

Its weird to see how HoD went from accusations of the other two servers double teaming them, to now defending their major advantage during oceanic hours and saying that ..ET+SBI still have players on during those hours? Yeah sure we have players…at a ratio of 4:1 if that makes you happy. Yeah sure we defend what we got but we’re stretched so thin that we cannot defend everything and push at the same time. And I highly doubt HoD players have ever seen an outmanned buff for nearly 6 hours straight.

cant tell them wrong.

if they lose, its not their fault, its because they got 2v1’d. and if they win its because we are bad and they are awesome, it has nothing to do with the outmanned buff and zero queue times that are on the opposing servers lol

I don’t want to limit anyone’s fun.
What I’m suggesting is some of the serious pvp overnight crews on HoD transfer elsewhere for an even split.

How fun can it really be to just steam roll through keeps and not fight anyone?

If we the players do not fix this, ANet will likely try in a panic maneuver.
And they will likely fail.

Much better if the players take proactive measures to ensure a balanced gaming experience for those involved.
But that’s just my opinion.

I think Im going to play tonight, record it and post it here.

The keeps aren’t empty at night, nor are the battle fields.

i hope you streamed when the only real force in WvW was in Isle borderlands, after capping 4 points in EB.. so we can see how fast those points turned back in the EB… because there was no force there to defend lol…

honestly… if something falls in less than 3 minutes 99% chance that no one was defending, sorry bud

winning unconditionally is more boring than being on the losing side…. you sit in wvw and do… nothing…. except maybe porting between the grub and the spirit champion…

and then what happens? you wait for someone to call out that someone captured something so you can wipe it out in 5 minutes or less, gain your 700 point tick back, then go back to grub and champion farming.

yay fun..

on a sid enote, the fact that you cannot render enemies at all during large fights is causing huge problems for people who want to play even when outmanned.

we spent an hour fighting for our isle keep in EB tonight when HoD wiped out the whole map..

we were in, we had the keep back to our color 1 tick away from capping… and suddenly….. there was someone in our midst that we couldn’t see… it was a thief, but the problem was, we had 25 people in the circle, and apparently he had enough time between stealth going away and rendering to get back into stealth because he never came out of stealth until the reinforcements arrived…. screwed by the rendering issues. eventually we got a few people with eyes on him as soon as they died (im sure veryone knows how nice it is that apparently you cant render enemies until you die to them haha)

HoD was at #2 or #3 in points/tick for 90%+ of the time until the server reset occurred. They magically gained 25k points after grabbing everything following the reset. So yeah, they were outplayed since Friday, and their only means of winning has been fighting against ghosts.

it is not HoD’s fault if the players from the other servers couldn’t get in fast enough after the server reset….

just as how HoD suffered when most of the TA players couldn’t get in right after the server rematchup…..

so your argument is flawed….

because his point is that after a server reset at midnight (west coast time, for those of you who are still in daylight while this happens), it is a good stopping point for a lot of people who work the next day. and even though the other servers still log back on to try and hold things, a lot of people are lost because there is a large decline of people on other servers during the weekdays… significantly at those times

he did after all mention HoD being outplayed from friday til sunday, and then once server pops declined on the other sides, HoD magically captures everything and pulls ahead…. hint, it isn’t because they pulled some special tactics out

this whole thread is proof that certain guilds and people from HoD really are just elitists that try to discredit others while claiming to work hard… when in reality, they just lose until everyone else can’t keep people online.

Sos and IOJ may have a large oceanic presence, but that doesn’t mean that large presence is in WvW. they are just a place for oceanics to play together at the same time. the guys who want to win at WvW all flocked to one server and pretend to be awesome because they fight ghost towns all night (err… day for them)

the world is round, the problem is not NA and its not oceanic…. its when only 1 server has the majority of both on it. because we know there are lots of NA servers, and there are some pure oceanic with some sprinkled NA… and then there is 1 server with the majority of both.

Does not matter if its my peak hours or not. Bottom line is Friday-Sunday people can stay up all night (LARGE MAJORITY) Americans included and pvp. An when that happens you got steamrolled and your population advantage with a huge showing from 10pm-7am was meaningless cause your not allowed that handicap when people stay up. So you want to brag and showboat then maybe you should accomplish something of value instead of get beat down for the entire weekend when majority of the entire population of the people who purchased the game can play. If you lose when most people are playing then your bad. If you win when most people are offline then your bad. No self respecting good player …hell even “Average” player would ever claim to be good when they cannot even win when competition is at it’s highest peak. That’s just for people who need a reality check it that most likely has something to do with the hours they are playing. (Bad job, Very few Responsibility’s, Unemployed, etc)

What really is interesting to me is how you can sit in those extremely long queues. I couldn’t stand that. I prefer to actually PvP than to be in a 7 hour queue. But to each his own

this is basically the way HoD wins every time…. yes they have good guilds and good players, but honestly, during the prime times, we see them fall down so much, that its just clear how they get the point lead so easy.

You do realise that Ruin does nothing for ET except give them a bad name, the only reason they are doing well in WvW is because of the “Team Legacy” Alliance.

you must get bent over by door to door salesman all the time don’t you. believing anything and everything by word of mouth.

the fact of the matter is, its a joint effort by the entire server and the guilds involved. and as far as ruin/tl/aa is concerned. there is a split between them for responsibility.

you will mostly see TL/AA in the RB and GB with the other guilds. and ruin covers EB and BB. most of the screenshots that people post would confirm this as well lol. sorry to burst your bubble

yes, zero downtime in EB, always queues, which means that a majority of people end up in queues for 2 hours will go to the borderlands anyway.

SBI and ET both have significant dropoff in player queues at the same time that HoD is full.

lets face it, you could have the best guild in the world, but playing with 20 people trying to take all of the objectives spread out over 4 different maps versus entirely full maps of people taking everything back. doesn’t work. if you believe that its easy to win with small numbers, then please, transfer off of hendge and go prove it when you don’t have numbers backing.

until then, don’t claim that other servers simply win due to numbers alone (the ruin zerg?? lol) and then can’t do anything without the numbers, when you hide behind numbers 24/7

TBH, I think they should just remove repair fees entirely from WvW, like waypoint travel. It basically punishes you for being aggressive. As if siege weapon BPs and control point upgrades weren’t enough, I’m spending anywhere from 30s to 1g on repair fees for one day of PvP, depending on how hard the fighting is, and not making nearly that much back from successful attacks/defends. Toss on top of that the average 1-2g I spend on the aforementioned BPs and upgrades I spend in a hard day of PvP and I find myself having to farm crap in Orr every other day just to be able to afford to do WvW.

in the same sense, it also keeps people from mindlessly tossing their character at defenses just to get some numbers to pop on a peice of siege… is it worth it to get that siege down? sure… but is it worth 12s in repairs for 10 people? probably not considering you could do it smartly and not suffer anything but a maybe a death or two at the most.

there has to be some sort of incentive to get people to play smart, and having repair bills (as small as they are) is a good thing.

but reducing them or removing them for people who are completely outmanned, is a great suggestion.

as much fun as it is to use an arrow cart and ballista to kill siege tha tis placed on the top tier, you have to actually own that tower to hit them with it, and some are too far back to hit with ballistas as well (want another screenshot? lol)

so you have to build something ridiculous like a catapult… so good luck getting it built and hitting it before its dead, if you don’t lose the tower first.

problem is that they built completely safe in their spawn and then siege from safety of their spawn, no worries of every being struck

i think this should be the other way around with orbs and outmanned buffs.

the orbs should give the buffs that the outmanned buffs give… the karma and exp bonus. not a health bonus.

the outmanned buff should give more health, more stats, etc……

and by the last screenshot i posted, that is a safe area, so no siege.

and this is a starting area, because it is innaccessable by enemies. you can build siege there with no thread of enemies even trying to take things down and if you happen to get the siege up, it is 10x harder to take that tower, because once you get it, you have to get the siege down before they kill you build sites.. nearly impossible (yes nearly, you can get lucky, but its still bs). and if you dont get them down, the walls and gate of your brand new tower go down in minutes because of their siege in the spawn placement

Hint: That aint their citadel. The players down on that ledge don’t have invulnerability. You can hit them with your own siege weapons.

How do I know this?

I played a match where we put catas on the ledge to fire at enemy ballista. The enemy ballista took us out.

You can fire back. You just didn’t spend the supply to do so..

and after reporting this a few times, the devs that are working on this issue stated they are doing fixes for a lot of spots that allow players to be invulnerable and build siege in areas that can’t be reached by enemy players at any time.

hopefully this is one of them, because it was in the reply i received.

believe it or not, Arena net wants to keep the focus on things that matter in WvW.

currently, the reward for escorting and defending yaks is what they give you…. supply!!!!

and the reward for killing yaks,,,,,starving them of supply!

if you feel like you need rewards back just to help your team win, then you dont need to be in WvW because you are probably one of those worthless dolyak farmers that took WvW spots, caused huge problems in the rankings because of queues being taken by PvE farmers.

Arena net took away the reward because it was easily the biggest problem at the time, people would gather in groups of 40 or so just to farm dolyak exp in safe areas, ignoring the actual game around them. it was affecting the gameplay of others, so it was changed.

and i love it how it is, no reward except the WvW reward of supply or lack of supply. the way it should be

There is no melee class in GW2.

My mesmer can be ranged with staff/GS, or I can switch to sword/torch and sword/sword and be up close and personal.

Its all about how you are set up.

maybe my post wasn’t very clear.

my point isn’t that people CANT do range and aoe.. because they can.

my point is that fights in larger scale end up being nothing but people blasting aoe ine very direction hoping to hit as many targets as possible. and this is especially the case with the lack of loading players right now.

if you have ever been a part of a 60 on 60 skirmish where one large force encounters another, you would realize how hopeless it is to even try to single target anything.

im merely suggesting ways to make large scale skirmishes more fun as opposed to having them end up being which side can shoot the most aoe first.

i guess in my head im hoping that large fights can be more fun to the point where you have people squaring off and helping each other and playing it like a real pvp fight, a huge, nonstop, pvp fight with tons of other people….

but i guess if people just like to frantically press as many aoe abilities as possible then it should stay the way it is for aoe abilities hitting tons of enemies all at one time for max damage

I wouldn’t mind if they added dueling in the mists but NOT in WvW.

We already have enough people chasing grubs, bouncing around jumping puzzles, gathering, face planting at SM for no reason, wandering around aimlessly and generally being useless.

Add in dueling and we’ve lost people that have the slightest inkling what they are doing to standing at the spawn spanking each other.

So yeah, dueling in the SPvP mists but keep it out of WvW. We need people to focus there.

we could add for spvp in general, it would be fairly easy for them to do that simply by allowing for a duel match in a duel arena for 2-4 people only.

but we need some sort of way for people to fight with their WvW character and test things without having to either steamroll or be steamrolled by 5-10 people out of nowhere.

something like lions arch or just toggleable anywhere would be best.

honestly, there are so many different things in WvW because it’s meant to be interactive, and not just a giant dueling ground, npc’s server a purpose, and we definately need some way to test builds revolving around real world gear, not spvp gear

a lot of people i have talked to have wondered why there was no way to duel people in the open world and WvW specifically.

we spent quite some time discussing builds and what works and what doesn’t. and then of course it gets into dueling, and what works about who. but the problem comes when you can’t test it.. at all…

Spvp is great, its a great setup and its perfect the way it is IMHO, but you cannot set up your character the same you can in the real world.

you can mix and match so many different runes and stats that you will never be able to replicate the same stats that you have in WvW. this is a problem for some people that really want to test their build effectiveness in WvW, but can’t duel anyone to test it.

has there been any talk about adding a form of dueling for people who play WvW that want to test their builds vs other players who specifically build their character in a way that sPvP doesnt offer? it just isn’t the same because of the last of customization compared to WvW armors
