Haha!!! Well isn’t that a kick in the dick. I xfered about 3 weeks ago and this wasn’t available. Well then… Enlight of this new evidence… It seems that I am wrong. I know laurels are account bound, but not sure if they will stay if you delete your characters. I’m not at my computer right now and wont be for some time…. Are your laurels across all your characters or are they individual to each toon?
If you could link that post I would be very upset. I xfered to Crystal Desert with no characters because I was told the same thing. I still had to pay the gems.. and had no characters.
I’m not sure if you lose everything if you delete all your characters. I know that all achievements are account based, but I’m not sure about dailys and items.
What I’m trying to tell you is that there is no need to delete your characters if you are going to pay to xfer to a diff server. Unless you plan on releveling the toons you have, you should just xfer the characters too so you wouldn’t have to worry about losing your laurels.
Even if you delete every character, your account is still attached to that parent server. Thus you will still have to pay. Therefor you shouldn’t delete all your characters…

I agree. Only way to know for sure is Dev intervention.
I haven’t tested this but I think duration based conditions like poison and fire work like this.
Player A applies 5 second poison with +condition damage
Player B applies 5 second poison with no condition damageThe poison now lasts 10 seconds on a target and each player deals their own tick of poison damage based on their condition damage stat. This is great because you’re helping other players keep their poison up longer than if they were alone yet not overriding their damage even if its lower.

Cool. That makes a lot more sense. I’m not one for +condition damage, but it’s good to know. I think we have answered the OP’s question and +some.
I like the Rules. Basics of any group event/dungeon. Shout AH Guardian = Team Player.
Poison – Me and you both rapidly apply poison to a target using (for example) Thiefs shortbow Poison Aoe. We apply psn at the same time for a total stack of 30 seconds. My shot stacks 5 seconds, and your shot stacks 5 seconds so on…. My poison damage will ping the target for 30 dmg with no +condition, then after my 5 seconds are up, your 5 seconds kick in with the +condition damage? Is there a cap on the duration of conditions? If so, it would seem like the +condition toon is getting gimped because the no +condition toon is taking up time on the condition.
Bleeds – Your explanation of bleeds makes sense. What is the cap on bleed stacks? How many players can take part in this Thief1 + Thief2 + etc of bleed damage?
Edit I looked up conditions on wiki and saw the bleed formula. I know how they work now. Poison still seems kinda fishy though

So what about this… (all numbers are easy on the eyes)
A thief with no +condition damage applies poison/bleed to a target and it ticks for 50dmg /sec. A 2nd thief with tons of +condition damage also applies poison/bleed that ticks for 100dmg /sec. With both toons attacking, does the first thief with no +condition damage just add to the duration of the 2nd thief conditions or what?
My wife and I play together. I’m a pretty core gamer and she just plays w/e I play every now and then. It’s fun when I do all the puzzles and then have to do it for her because she can’t complete them. We have lvld 3 toons to 80 and now working on our 4th set.

I took trend offline and my wife’s computer is still having the same issues. No wireless keyboard or anything.
I’ve also been reading that windows8 is causing issues with other games, not only GW2. Wow, League, and Diablo were just a few named…. Anyfeed back from Devs?
I read the Local.dat file. All I see is the GW2.dat. You referring to the same file or is something missing?
My wife and I are playing right next to each other. She clicks her skills and they preform on my screen, but delay on hers. Also when she moves items around in her bags, it takes a good 3-4 seconds for the item to move. Her computer is brand new and this issue just started this afternoon. Any suggestions?

I love to raid. I was a hardcore raider when I played WoW. The reason I quit as well… I wanted to play a more casual game. I wouldn’t mind raiding, but how would they implement a looting system? Would it be the same way the loot system is now, or would they implement a set item base and loot master?
If a dmg recount is introduced then boss fights will inevitably turn into nothing more than a dick-measuring contest and a flood of “lfg at least xxxx dps no noobs” on the map chat
I agree to a point. Most of the players I’ve seen, at least on Crystal Desert, are quite helpful in the dungeons parts. Most of the population in this game are not filled with measuring tapes and yard sticks. Although, I bet if Anet did introduce Recount, a lot of the builds people use would be deemed “insufficient”. Thus making builds more superior than others. I like the fact that everyone has their own builds and uses different weapons. I believe if recount was added, it would hinder the creativity of the game.
Yes, I apologize by adding both types of “PvP” into my statements. I am referring to WvW only. So let me make sure I understand.
1. If I deal sufficient damage to an enemy player, and someone else gets the killing blow, I still earn the reward for killing the player?
2. If I run in and steal the killing blow from a random downed enemy player, I get credit as well?

Additional Comments: My wife and I both play. I spend most of my time teaching her how to complete things, but I enjoy the bonding. I’m very social and I love to roam in groups. Solo questing is such a pain. I bounce between events when I’m not completing hearts/vistas. I’m looking to get into WvW once I get a bit higher level with my AH guardian build. I know this probably isn’t the place for this Topic, but I looked at the WvW threads and it seems more official. Thus, I’ll ask the question here and get some feedback.
During PvP, the killing blow is what grants you the exp and the PvP tokens correct?
Do you get anything for the assist? Does downing the player grant you anything? It seems kinda unfair, especially during the zergs, When I know I downed the player, but I can’t get to them quick enough and some random scrub confirms my kill. Even if the other player doesn’t use the “Killing Blow” and just kills them via skills/spells. Seems kinda unfair that I get no credit for assisting in the players death. Any feedback from players/mods on why this is?

I’m pretty sure it’s specific. Run around and hit a mob of blah blah level and then hit a rabit or pig.. Your #‘s increase when you hit the lesser mob. That is pretty much proof that the #’s flying are relative to the target you are dealing damage to.
Guardian offers a ton of support/face tanking abilities. Such as a AH support/tank build. You can supply yourself with every boon there is to offer and somewhat face tank. This game is not built off the trinity (tank/dps/heal) so even with a properly built guardian or warrior for that matter, you won’t be able to face tank for long.

Above is the build I am working with. I can take a good bit of damage without moving around too much. Pve, you don’t need to move that much but in WvWvW, you ought to be moving as much as you can. This guide has proved to be a very helpful in me learning how to play a guardian.

@Curuniel – I understand the large scale groups to take out events and such, but it seems most of the major events are flooded with players from the map anyway.
@SlimGenre – I know that dungeons are the main portion of leveling once you hit 30+. Like most games, dungeons are the way to go unless you like the story line and questing.
@Ilithis – That is the whole reason I got into GW. I like the fact that a lot of the game is based on playing coop instead of solo. I left SWTOR/WoW because of that.
The only thing I don’t really like is that after I have finished my hearts/vista/skill ups, (too low to start the others) I have to wonder around for events, gathering materials, or just grind out on mobs in the area.
From my first week of playing, I’ve gotten used to the leveling system of the game. It seems most of the leveling is done from “Hearts” and “Events”. My wife is also playing with me and during our heart quests, we noticed that the heart objectives are not shared. I have to kill/gather my objectives separately than her, unless we both attack the same mob. I tend to run around and gather mobs to finish my quests quicker, and she is newer to the MMO exp, so she attacks things as she sees them. I also have a few friends that are going to start playing with us in the near future. Would it be easier to level up solo/groups of 2 instead of leveling together as a large group? I know later when we start doing dungeons/fractals it will change, but how about the leveling up part?
