Crystal Desert
Tonic[Lime]
Meh screw it, this game isn’t worth the aggravation.
Cant tank here
Cant heal here
Cant farm mats here
Support is horrid (say what you want but WoW would of fixed this in 20 minutes with a full restore, even on a sunday)
Cant invest in your toon who may or may not get wiped at any momentThe email bad link does it for me, “oh reset your password so we can send you a bad confirmation link”
LOL ya how about no.
uninstalling, guys who were cool, wish you all the best.
Haters, hope you log in tomorrow in your boxers, lol
Hahaha! I laughed so hard! Duces kid.
Easiest way for me to get money while leveling was doing dungeons. You can do any of the dungeons lower than your level and you will be scaled to that dungeons level. Run each path a few times and either save your tokens or spend them.
OP, it looks like you are hoping on a bandwagon… You want to be apart of the best WvW server, but want PvE aspects of a dedicated PvE server. Gotta make a decision bud.
Posting a picture of his/her character isn’t going to help you make a decision.
I am also running an AH build, but my gear is less forgiving than yours. I’m running Knights/Zerk gear. I’m running all Soldier runes with precision in my knights weapons. GS/Ham or Staff. For my trinkets I went all zerk.
Now, to answer your question, It seems like your armor is giving you tons of health. Over time you will get better and your armor will start to transition to more damage instead of health. Unless you are doing a pure bunker build and you don’t really care about damage, I would continue going with knights, but If you want to transition to more damage output later down the road then start replacing your soldier/knights gear with knights/zerk.
I’m not against xfering, but I like CD’s community. Plus I know a lot of people here already. If other servers are that interested in having me, tell me what you have to offer that would want to make me pay to xfer.
Hi all. I have a lvl 80 Guardian that I’m looking to get into WvW/Fractals. I started GW2 about a month ago. Looking for pretty much high level / (what MMO players call “End Game”) content. I have tons of previous MMO experience and I am a fast learner. I run my solo runs in WvW every now and then, but I’m looking for a sustained group that likes to work together. I have ran around with [One], [PDoX], [Lime], [TIME] and others, and I’m looking to join up with one of the self sustained guilds instead of being apart of the PUG that follows them. Any of the above mentioned or other self sustained PvX guild that would like to have another core player in their guild, please leave me your in game name and a recruitment website or vent/ts/mumble.

Akamon, So before infusion there is no +agony resistance on any of the rings? So it wouldn’t matter which vendor I bought the ring from? Only after the infusion process does it add the + res? Is there a way to upgrade the ring and NOT add the +resistance? I’m just looking for the best possible upgrade for my pve/wvw builds.
From the Wiki Amy’s are only Daily, Acc are Daily/Guild, and Rings are Daily/Fractals. Taking a look at the rings for example, Bagh Nakh is bought from both Laurel Merchant and 4373 vendor. Is there something different between the two? Infused version different? Secondly, if there is nothing different, then why does the Laurel merchant sell more items than 4373? Unless I can’t count, Laurel sells 30 rings and 4373 sells only 20. Is this because Laurel sells Def/Off/Util infusion slots and 4373 only sells Def/Off? The wiki only says Def Infusion and Infusion (I’m assuming Offensive). So to sum this up, I’m not looking to excel in Fractals, I just want my ascended gear to have the best possible pve/wvw gear and maybe a set of agony res gear for fractals if I ever decided to go further. I’m bored at work and have nothing better to do than learn.
With the two types of ascended gear, I just have a quick question. I noticed the other day when I first started doing Fractals, that the gear has Agony resistance. I’m guessing that is something that I have to start worrying about later in the mid-high lvl fractals. On the other side, with laurels, it’s just straight stats with no resistance. Now I know 2+2=4, but is there any reason to get the Fractal ascended gear if you don’t really plan on doing fractals that often, or is it just a quicker or alternate way of getting ascended gear if you don’t have enough dailys done?
My thoughts are using your daily/laurel Ascended rings for WvW/PvE/Dungeons and your Fractal ascended rings for just fractals. Ultimately making a pure Agony res gear set for Fractals and a non res gear set for everything else. Correct?
Didn’t want to make a new thread updating my gear so I’ll just add. I’m now in full Knights Exo gear. No runes or gems. I still have my lvl 78+ green/rare rings/acc/ammy… I’m aiming for a shout build that supports with boons while doing decent damage. I’m looking at runes right now. Should I get soldier runes and then go zerk ring/acc/ammy or soldier ring..etc and a zerk type rune set?
1. Every class has it’s utility in a group. Depending on what you are grouping for will determine what everyone wants. If you are looking for fast clearing runs of CoF, then you can get 3 zerk warrior, 1 guardian, and 1 mes and wreck everything. If you are looking for a roaming group in WvW, you could be very deadly with 1-2 mes, 2-3 dag/dag thiefs, and a heavy melee class (war/guard) sPvP is completely different. Every class has it’s pro’s and con’s when in sPvP. Check out the sPvP threads to read up on those.
2. There is no #1 class, as stated above, every class has their pro/con. As for Solo play? Every class can solo pretty well depending on what weapons and build you roll with. Dag/Dag thief will be harder to play that sword/dag or sword/pistol due to the single target dps rather than multi (aoe cleave) dps. Check the profession threads to see what people are using to level up their characters. Personally, I think guardian was the easiest for me to level. I have played guard/mes/thief/eng up to 80 and guardian was by far the easiest for me.
3. I’m not huge into sPvP, but I do dabble in WvW. The cool thing about WvW is that it does not require you to have a PvP build. You can run in your PvE gear, with your PvE builds and do just fine. In sPvP or tPvP, you should start looking into PvP build and gear. As for professions, if you are good at PvP then chose the profession that fits your play style. In PvE I love my guardian, but in sPvP, I hate melee combat, so I roll with my Mes.
4. Personally for me…. ranger…. no explanation, just ranger… Read the ranger threads in the profession forums.. You will get the idea.
Good luck, add me if you want to game. I’m always online.
I started off getting just the pieces I was missing. Just a few lvl 60-70 greens needed replacing. Everything else was 78+ masterwork/rare stuff I farmed from meta/story.
I’m working towards knights gear right now… I was looking for which dungeons dropped that gear, and the only ones I saw were the Orrian gear from Arah.. Ran arah P3, and it took my group almost 2 hrs to complete. I know I have some boss mechanic learning to do, and I don’t have the coin to buy a box of the gear from the TP. I ran the event chain in Orr for about an hour and got events and my monthly done for enough karma to buy a full set of 42k/piece gear. Any karma vendors sell knights ex?There are no knight karma vendors.
Hopefully you bought only the PVT pieces from the different shrines. (If you bought them all at 1 shrine you will get a mix of random stats and that will not help.)
I haven’t gotten anything yet. I was just waiting to see what I should start off with. As of right now, I am in full knights rare. I’m wanting knights/zerk combo. Since I’m still learning boss mechanics, should I stick with knights armor and zerk trinkets or should I get full PVT gear and try to learn fights with more exp players?

Yeah, well I’m going to end up needing knights Pwr/Pre/Tough… From the Wiki Koda doesn’t offer that.. So look like I’ll be xmuting anyway…
I’m wanting to acquire the look of the Koda gear. I just hit 80 a few days ago and I’m asking how I should go about it. Should I just get other Exotic PVT gear and then run HOTW until I can buy the rare version and then xmute or should I grind it out and get the exotic versions?
Wow! Very nice. I love this!
I come from playing WoW where there are specific tiers of gear you go through.. Starting out getting item level 219, and then you work towards 245.. Is it like that here, or can I start building towards my “end game” gear right off the bat? My wife and I are both in the same situation. What do you suggest we do?
Just for clarification, I’m guessing you are wanting to guest to a diff server and then participate in the guild events there?

6. Profit??
hi guys and gals ima be startign this game shortly later today and i was wondering what is the beginner class to play on and a good friendly realm?
Hey Neefert!
First of all welcome to Guild Wars 2.
You should check out the Operation: Union thread Here posted by glitch.
Operation: Union is just a group of people that want to better the community of the game by helping others and giving them a starting home.
My wife and I both play guardian. I am a exp player of MMO’s and she’s still learning. While I can dodge just fine, she still has a hard time watching for mob patters and learning when to dodge. I would say with the proper build you can face tank easier than you could with any other class. ((((I am not saying you can face tank the entire fight, but it is a more forgiving)))) With an AH build, your shouts heal you and other players. Build this and if you miss a dodge or two, you can recover pretty quick during the heat of battle. Hope this helps.
Hey Sargent!
I’m glad you decided to follow my link and join up with O:U. I’m not 100% sure on the presence of [XIII] on anvil rock, but with the guesting abilities now, finding people to play with won’t be hard at all. You can always guest to CD and play with me and my wife. We are always goofing off while leveling our mains/alts.
@Aeleniel | Again, no need to apologize. I didn’t quite say I wanted to WvW in the op anyway. I’ll be repping [XIII] most of the time anyway, I just wanted to get CD on the map and get more members involved on the server. WvW or PvE, doesn’t matter.
Pretty much what I was looking for. I’ll talk to you off forum to settle the details. Thanks for the post though!
Hey Sargent. Operation: Union is a great place to start.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OPERATION-UNION-Bringing-Players-Together/first
Everyone here is very helpful and always willing to teach.
Oh, no need to apologize. The only reason I was asking is because I know some people would like to put Operation: Union in WvW. I’m still not 100% on how guesting and repping the guild across server works. I do know that the guild is based on one server, and if you guest, you can’t participate in WvW. How can we get Operation: Union into WvW if you are on a diff server?
Simply amazing for beginners!
As I didn’t see anyone mentioning it, this thread is awesome:

Lol. Look 2 posts above you. With the hyperlink “here”. :P Peek-a-boo!

Here is a post I was in. We had a quick learning experience about conditions. Hope it helps you.
Not 100% sure then. If it just started happening, might wanna check your router/equipment to make sure nothing is fishy. Other than that, you might have just started realizing it. Between my Asus Win7 machine and my wifes Asus Win8 machine, hers seems a bit more fluid when I play on her computer, to where mine is more direct camera movements. I can’t stand it… It seems like my computer responds faster than hers… Maybe play around with your graphic settings and see if any of those can help you out. Sorry that I can’t help that much, but I’m more of a hands on guy.
Hello! Welcome back!
First of all, there is no “best Home World”. If you take a look at the rankings on the WvW Forum, you can see what servers (Home Worlds) are rising to the top of the charts. If WvWvW isn’t your thing, then I would suggest a medium population server. Less people in towns, and such.
One thing for sure… Join a guild. There are so many opportunities to learn from educated players. Now also, since the guild events are in place, you will get to do events with your guild more often. If you take a look at the Operation: Union thread and post there, you will fit in just fine. That’s where I started off. Glitch is a really nice guy and will get you rolling in no time. If you need anything else, just add me. I play every night or so when I’m not working overnight. (Military) I won’t be online tonight, but just send me a pm on here and I’ll help you with w/e you need.
My wife has an Asus touchscreen with Windows 8 and the game plays just fine. Windows 8 is “so far” game friendly with most of the games we play together.
My wife had the same issue. We had to disable her antivirus software. Then it worked just fine.
Hey Everyone!!! I have been a member of Operation: Union for a while and I have met a lot of really cool people. I know a lot of people are now apart of Operation: Union and not everyone can fit in the same guild. I don’t know if Glitch is ok with it or not, but I just created a guild yesterday to start playing around with guild events. I would like to invite anyone and everyone that wants to start off with a fresh guild to join us at “The Riot Method” [RIOT] As of right now it’s just me, my wife, and a few RL friends. If Glitch is ok with it, I would love for anyone and everyone to join us. We are stationed on Crystal Desert, and we have more of a NA prime time presence. I love WvW, sPvP and PvE. Just send me a msg or mail me if I’m offline. (Military so I work a lot…)
Secondly, if there is already a Operation:Union guild on Crystal Desert, please let me know. I would stand down and join and rep that guild asap.
Yes, You can select a server for free. I tested as well as a previous thread I posted in a while back.
I play a support role on my Guardian. So I play with GS – Mace/Shield – Staff. I also have Scepter for ranged activities. As for straight dmg output, Hammer / Greatsword are your two melee weapons of choice, and if you are looking for ranged Scepter does decent damage. You sacrifice DMG for staying alive if you go ranged though. It still all depends on what you like the most.
Soulbound means it’s bound to that one character..
Account Bound means it’s bound to your account. What you are asking is impossible.
Ok cool. Me and my wife just hit 50 yesterday and we have only completed AC and CM story modes. Might think about doing FOTM soon.
So if you are up-leveled in FOTM, what is the lowest supported level? I assume you cant be a level 1 and start FOTM right away…
For Daily healer, people on my server (Tarnished Coast) are usually jumping off the statue at Divinity’s Reach at Minister’s waypoint. Getting 100% healer daily barely takes long thanks to this. I’m not sure if other servers do it as frequently as TC, but that’s one way to avoid the Blood Fields body rush.
I have got to get this started on Crystal Desert. This is amazing.
just sell everything you find while lvling one 80 after the other getting full map completion etc. then one day you might end up with enough gold to buy yourself a legendary.
Haha! Worst help ever.
Anyway, @OP…
You always want to keep the game interesting. That is the reason we play MMO’s. If you only do one thing at a time, you will surely lose interest in the game. My suggestion to you is to do both. Like above. Don’t rush your next toon to 80. Take the time to use this toon to finish your map completion. Run your jump puzzles and actually read through the lore of the game. “Understood it’s really boring until you get to level 30+”, but never the less, the story is pretty interesting. As for my suggestion as to which toon you should play… Since you already have two 80’s, I would hope you have a decent understanding of the game mechanics. I would suggest playing the Ele. Not only do you have your weapons, but you have your elements. Granted you only have Staff, Scepter, Focus, and Dagger, but you have 4 elements to rotate between. I don’t want to get too in depth with Ele.. That is the job of the profession forums…
As for your legendary. The above will not get you your weapon. Getting a legendary is supposed to be one of the highlights of playing GW2. If you plan on buying your item outright, plan on grind for a long time. I would rather take the time to level a crafting profession and then make it myself, but it just depends on what you want to do. If you don’t like crafting and you don’t feel like grinding out gold for a long time then buy gems. Buy gems and then sell on TP. Should be pretty easy buying your legendary then. Anyway, happy hunting and good luck on whatever you chose.
No matter how hard you want to try and whatever you do…this in the end is impossible
I agree. Even if you are a pure healing build. You are going to gimp your team by not doing damage. Thus…
Take longer to kill mobs > Team takes more damage > You having to heal more. Skills are on CD. I can guarantee that you will not have enough time to play a “pure healing” build. and I can guarantee that if you tell any “knowledgeable group” that you are pure healing, they will not want you in the group. Or at least I know I wouldn’t.
These builds belong in their respected forum locations. Please think about removing it and moving.
Xfer to a lower pop server and you wont have as many problems. From your response you are on SoR. 2nd rank server as of the 15th Feb Cough up the 500gems and xfer to Tier7/8. Pretty sure you can get everything you need on one of those 6 servers.
Delete characters to change worlds?? You can transfer existing ones, no need to start from scratch. (I have played games where moving to a different server meant starting over, but that’s thankfully not the case here)
You are 100% correct. You can xfer your characters. At a price. 500 gems for low population servers, 1000 gems for med pop, and 1800 for high pop.
Or you can delete all your characters and do it for free.
For me, it depends on if I need the cash right then.
If it’s just a random piece of gear and I’m looking for crafting materials, I’ll salvage them and bank them. If it’s a rare piece that I’ve seen go for a good bit of cash, I’ll look it up in the TP. Either Post it or sell it to the highest buyer (back to if I need the cash).
I did the shadow event almost every day last week and got 4 gold, 6 greens, and 5 blues. I sold all of them on the TP for a huge profit. It all depends on what your looking for.
Since you are looking for money, If you pick up lots of blues/greens from mobs, it might be better to salvage them for the occasional lucky mat. If you only get a few every now and then, I would suggest selling them on the TP for the quick cash.
TL;DR
Crafter – Salvage
Non Crafter – TP
Guilds are account based. If your Guardian joins [ABC] and your Warrior joins [XYZ] you can represent your Guardian on [XYZ] if you choose. I’m not sure if the guild panel shows your toon name or your account name. I know it shows if you are representing or not, but I’m level 40 with no guild, so I’m not 100% sure.
General advice:
#1: Combat is active, learn to dodge
#2: Melee is a Risk vs Reward system, if you wade in deep, you can hit harder, but you will risk taking more damage from bosses.
#3: Save raw materials as you level, crafting is a handy way to gain both XP and gear as you level.
#4: If you need help, ask, the game rewards teamwork very well.
#5: Welcome aboard, we’re glad to have you and hope you have a good time!
Lol! Thanks Cassie. You just killed my post.
Very broad request, but let me try to help you out.
Here is a website that helps with Builds and basic strats on the class of your choice.

To be completely honest, there is no easy way to answer your question without you asking a more specific question. Figure out what class you want to play, and what you plan on doing, WvW, sPvP, or PvE and read up on the forums. If you want to know specifics, don’t be afraid to ask. The forum community is very helpful.
Haha. Not worried about it. It was only $12. If you are going to go for it. Let me know what happens. Just curious…
