Is the female Sylvari sound of pain bothering anyone else?

Yes, the yipping is bothering me a bit as well. I’m not sure where you’re getting the orgasm association from, but I agree with it sounding like a small dog. I wish they’d change it or turn it down a bit.

I… haven’t run into any of these issues in Orr. Now, I don’t spent my entire time there, but the only thing I have noticed that people are less kind about some of the more frequently asked questions in map chat. I play on Gandara.

I never seem to run into people dragging ten mobs along, even in Orr. Maybe it’s because I’m always running as well, but honestly, there aren’t many spots in Orr where you can just stop and stand around for a bit anyway.

There’s plenty of reviving going on. No, I won’t run into a mob I know will kill me as well, but if there’s any chance I can help, I will try. (It is annoying, though, if you try and the defeated players decides it’s taking too long and respawns, leaving you to deal with the mob for nothing.)

No zergs I have been aware of yet. Certainly none that told me what to do.

I’ve found you can do the skill challenges etc. on your own, if you’re careful about it and take your time. Also, when someone asks for help in the map chat, someone else will usually help them if they’re in the area. I also haven’t really seen any bots yet (ones that I would have noticed, at least).

Maybe these are server-specific things. I’d say you could try switching server for a few days and see how it is elsewhere? The things you’ve listed would take away from my enjoyment, too.

What Is Your Fav/Least Favorite GW2 Race!?

My favourite are the Sylvari. I was surprised by this, too, as I didn’t think I’d like the “plant people” all that much, but I’ve grown very fond of them.

I absolutely hate the dredge. Their abilities are annoying, there are always at least five of them around and the noises they make made my mute the game and play some music instead more than once.

Jumping Puzzles as a Charr

Yes, I won’t be doing any of the jumping puzzles with my charr. That said, the camera is funky for every character in tight spaces, regardless of its size.

I don’t know how many times I’d do a jump when SUDDENLY LEAVES. Covering the entire screen. It’s not as bad as the camera in Troll’s End, but still very annoying.

Hm, I distinctly remember seeing him use necro skills early on, as others have pointed out. Later on, he just uses Caladbog.

I really like him. I don’t know, he doesn’t feel “blank” to me at all, just very lonely and not used to dealing with other people/sylvari since he spent so much time on his own. (In Orr, no less.) Hence the somber tone and “lack of emotion”.

I also like the voice acting a lot. I was quite happy that he came along on so many story missions, he really grew on me.

Now, Logan on the other hand…

Would you go to London and start shouting at every person you heard not speaking English??
(to each other, obviously if they needed to communicate to a shop assistant they would have to speak English -edit)

No you wouldn’t.

If they were speaking to me, yes, I would point out they would have to speak english to me.

Speaking in map chat isn’t like standing in a large crowd quitely talking to a friend next to you. It’s more like standing on a soap box shouting your message to the entire crowd. If you do that in a language only 2% of the crowd can understand, you are sure to get some reactions from the other 98%.

Yeah, and most of those reactions would be a confused look. And then people would move on. Only someone who already has a problem with people speaking foreign languages would actually speak up in such a situation as opposed to ignoring them.

As you already said, if someone is speaking specifically to you, obviously it would be helpful if they used a language you can understand. But the map chat isn’t aimed at you in particular.

I agree that it gets annoying if people use the map chat as their personal chat room, but that is completely independent of the language they’re using.

Somehow it seems that it’s mostly people who can only speak English that complain about other people speaking their own languages. I don’t understand the problem. If something’s being said/written in a language you don’t understand, but it’s not specifically aimed at you, why can’t you ignore it?

That said, I barely see people use languages other than English. I’m on Gandara and I’ve seen someone advertise a guild in Italian and someone asking if there were any German guilds in German, and that’s it. I think it’s cool to see different languages, though. It’s definitely better than people arguing in the map chat about whether it’s your right to be racist if you wish to be.

Bad Blood 33 story quest with durmond priory, need some help or tips

I’m surprised so many are having trouble with the quest. I watched the flags, as soon as they stopped moving I ran to the platform in the middle, waited for the wind and as soon as the flags stopped moving again I ran to the other side. I fell about two or three times before I figured out the timing, but I thought that section was fine.

Now, Goemm’s Lab, the jumping puzzle in the Metrica Province…. that was frustrating beyond words.

"Training" Mobs, What is it and STOP IT!!!

You said it yourself Laufey, you’re not level 80. This really isn’t a problem until you get to Orr.

Ah, I see. I thought that might be the reason. Then I take back what I said.

Now, maybe it’s because my main’s only level 64 and things are different in Orr, but I haven’t died due to someone else’s train yet. If I see someone being followed by a horde of mobs, either I run as well or I go help if I think I can handle it. It’s possible that I’ve just gotten lucky, though.

That said, there’s no way I’m going to kill all the mobs I come across if I want to walk from point A to point B, because the waypoints are so expensive. If I see someone get caught in the mobs I’ve been dragging along, I stop and try to help of course, but that’s it.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but this is not an issue I’ve ever really noticed.

Sylvari Hairstyles

For example cherry trees look quite magnificent when they are blossoming so the idea of having flowers as decoration in the hairstyles isn’t that far fetched.

I agree, I really want to achieve the beautiful/poetic effect but it’s also quite difficult. I tried it with a male Sylvari with plum blossoms as my theme, turns out I got reactions from both ends of the spectrum. My RL friend was horrified, but a random stranger I met while exploring really liked it.

I wish we can have more species of plants/trees to tinker around with.

Well, I like it a lot! Looks really cool

And yes, I’d say more customization options are always welcome, but not a priority for me right now. In the future, that would be nice to see, though.
