For Staff:

- the staff feels very weak compared to sword, dagger or longbow.

- dmg seems ok but you have simply no defense with this weapon

- maybe give Skill #1 and evade on the last chain?!

- would like to see skill 4 getting a short duration smoke screen, that block projectiles and is a combo field, so you can stealth yourself at least one time.

- skill #5 and the dodge ability is to obvious and can be dodged to easy. It’s not worse it for the initiative

Hi all,

Rifle ofc.

1) Just think, if thief will get Staff (melee or not) he would be the 7. class (out of 9 including revenant) wielding this weapon.
2) why do we need another melee dps weapon, if we have d/d and s/d for great dps?!
3) Only 2 classes can wield rifle at this time.
4) SB and Pistol are the only range weapons thief have atm. In fact they are more condi specific.
5) Pale Reaver NPC’s are assassins, that are already using a rifle with a special shoting animation in HoT.

Maybe do it like in GW1 HA, that people can ‘rewatch’ the matches in a limited period of time. I dont like the realtime-streams cause of match manipulation.

Maybe,

if A-net just removes the +condi stats and maybe the + ferocity from the amulet;
warriors, eles & engis, which classes have beneth much power damage also mighty condition-dmg like burning; the celestial amulett wouldn’t hurt that hard anymore.

Celestial atm is really powerful if you combine it with weaponswap sigils like ‘geomancy, doom, intelligence’. Allows you really good sustain and HP by amulett, aswell as poison & bleed on swap and 100% crit for next three attacks (buffed by ferocity aswell)

Celestial is not the problem, strength runes and might in general are.

Strengh rune is really good but not overpowered i think (anyway the +7% dps got nerved), in EU most warriors are now playing ‘hoelbrak’ instead and staff eles ‘pirate rune’.

The real problem is Celestial Amulet on warriors, engis and eles, combined with weaponswap-signets. /doom, geomancy, intelligence
Way to much condition damage if you combine all these things with burning.

Hey Sizer,

how do you think this ‘mid dodgeroll’ bug is caused? It never happened to me so far i guess.
And they already fixed some issues from Stealbug. Don’t you think this is sometimes caused by terrian?! In your stream, stealbug often happens to you on Skyhammer. This map is really bad terrianed and you can’t port/steal everywhere you want.

I would really enjoy to see a revised version of the ‘Raid of the Capricorn’ map.
Except the annoying watercombat, this map was really fun to play and was compareable to ‘Battle of Khylo’.
Maybe it is possible to remove the Water completly or make it flat, so you can still walk while in water (compare beach @ ‘Forest of Niflhel’ or cave @ ‘Temple of the silent storm’).
Make the ship a wreck and balance the bottom of the sea, so that the old underwater note becomes the mid Point to fight for.
I with some changes this map could be tPvP viable aswell.

I know this bug, it often happens to me in WvW if you try to steal someone on long range in combination with -infiltrator’s signet- -infiltrator’s strike- and then -steal-. I think it’s caused by the aftercast time of the skills. It also happens often, if try to combine -flanking strike- and -steal-. you can stand right in front of your enemy and it will just miss and go on cd.
You will often port to your enemy, but steal will just not hit, even if your enemy will just stand there, and will go on cd.

I don’t think thief is unplayable cause of this, but for duelling it’s just a great disadvantage if your steal, that would normally hit, just fails.

Edit: It never happened to me by just using -steal- alone. Only in combination with other weaponskills. -steal- + -heartseaker- , -steal- + -flanking strike-, -steal- + -infiltrator’s strike-

In fact that i play a very good guardian myself and faced Zereldo several matches in teamqueue i can tell you, that he is quite a very good and decent player, who is doing a great job with keeping his team alive. I rlly hope that i’ll see him soon in the TeamQ with a new team.

3-Did you see RU? WvW players were chearing because of GvG (zerg vs zerg).

do you mean the bloody tech GvG yesterday? because i played it and won the finals and i can tell you, that 6v6 is so much fun, you need lot’s of tactic, good position- and targeting, also communication and movement.

In WvW you have 25vs25 GvG and it’s more like pushing with the melee train and spam massive aoe on enemys. everything based on 1 commander telling everybody what to do.

This new map is a joke. Its basically an empty map with ledges where you can do TDM with different amounts of people. I’m someone that likes strategy and there is little opportunity for in this map compared to conquest maps. I’m probably alone in this though since I’ve never liked deathmatch in any game.

Queue time for this game mode in GW2 would be immense (at least 2-3 hours) I don’t know how it was in GW1 but that’s pretty much twice my daily playtime and that’s only the queues. Matches altogether would last another hour or 2.
Not enough players in this game to make something out of PvP anymore.

If Anet manages to balance the different classes and implement some K.O. tournaments into the game like the old “payed tournaments with gem rewards”, more players would be motivated playing this style of gamemode. I definitly think, that more builds and classes will be viable, when implementing new gamemodes aswell.

9) Next map: The Courtyard (King of the Hill) (team vs. team vs. team)
Here i would like to say, that the KotH mode in my opinion is very difficult to implement. The mainproblem with this is, that there are actually no real healers in GW2, so you can’t heal up effective the damage applied to your “Ghostly Hero” or allies.
In GW1 this map was about every of the 3 teams, to bring their Ghostly Hero on one note in the middle of the map and letting him capture the note.
The note could only be captured back, if the enemy Ghostly Hero died, so there were protection Monks and Infuses, causes so much dmg went to 0.
In GW2 the Ghostly Hero would just die in seconds, because of the insane damage coming up from the 2 other teams.

So here is my opinion how to implement the Courtyard koth in GW2.

  • Objective to bring your Ghostly Hero to the shrine in the middle and letting him capture the note through a spell (capture the shrine should be have a cast of 5 up to 10 seconds)
  • meanwhile the Ghostly Hero is casting the spell:
    - he can get rupted by every skill that applies daze, stun, knock-down
    - he can get buffed with boons by his team through protection, stability, retaliation,…
    - he can get boonriped by any of skill or trait (Mesmer, Thiefs,…)
  • to prevent the Ghostly Hero NPC of instantly dying:
    - he should be applied with an unique buff on this map, that causes him to reduce dmg, compared to how many people attacking him (for example, if one thief is spamming pistolwhip on the Ghostly hero,
    he will deal more damage than 3 eles casting meteorstorm on him)
    - should be immune to conditions while captured the note ?!
  • respawn from stomped and totally dead players every 15 seconds in base, no ability to hard-rezz totally dead players
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

10) Next map: The Antechamber (Capture Points) (team vs. team)

  • Objective to capture and hold 3 (up to 4) notes and getting points for kill/capture/hold (compare GW2 PvP)
  • respawn from stomped and so totally dead players every 15 seconds in base, no ability to hard-rezz totally dead players
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

11) Next map: The Vault (waiting room)
In GW1 this was the waiting room for the teams, that were currently waiting to join the HoH, the last map of this K.O. Tournament.
No enemys and no objectives.

12) Last Map HoH: The Hall of the Heroes (Koth, Relic run, Capture Points) (team vs. team vs. team)
The great thing of this map was, you never knew what gamemode you’ll get. There were 3 bases like on Courtyard and so 3 teams fighting for the win.

Koth:

  • 1) capped point from Ghostly Hero (same like 9: The Courtyard)
  • 2) capped point from allies standing on it

Relic Run:

  • same mechanics like 6: Unholy Temples
  • bring relic from your homebase into the mid point

Capture Points:

  • Objective to capture and hold 4 notes and getting points for (kill)/capture/hold (compare GW2 PvP)
  • 3 of 4 notes near enemy bases, 1 note in mid
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?! Unique chest with very small chance of rare drops at the end (Ascendet armor skins for PvP, Black Lion Tickets, rare skins, only craftable in pve, Mjölnir, Volcanus, Legendary?!)

Every team has a “Ghostly Priest” stuck in the enemy base, resurrecting all (totally dead) players on his spot every 1 or 2 minutes. (includes “Ghostly-Hero”)
One “Flag Spot” in the middle of the map. One Flag in every Homebase. The team who brings the flag to the flag stand will get an advantage
(maybe a random, area-effected lightning strike, compare: Obelisk Flag Stand )

  • Objective to annihilite every player of the enemy team AND the enemy “Ghostly Priest” or reach a maximum of XXX Points
  • It should to be worth, to run/bring the flag to the flag-spot
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

6) Next map: Unholy Temples (Relic run) (team vs. team)
On this map each team had a relic, spawned near their bases, only can raised by members the enemy team. The “Ghostly Hero” was sticked in the base.

  • Objective to grab the enemy relic and bring it into your base to your “Ghostly Hero” (maximum of 3 relics = win) (compare Snowball Mayhem from wintersday)
  • while carrying the relic you:
    - move 33% (up to 66%) slower
    - getting a relic runner debuff, so you cant use ANY of your skills (so you aren’t able to blink, rtl,…)
    - can’t get stealthed
    - can’t use a portal (otherwise you drop the relic) (Btw.: All this could be changed on Spirit Watch aswell)
    - can’t get invulnerable or mist-formed effected by runes/sigils
    - can get speed buffed by allies, buffed with boons from allies, run faster with rune of speed
  • dropping the relic, so that the enemy team can grab it, will let the relic respawn
  • respawn from stomped and totally dead players every 1 or 2 minutes in base, maybe the ability to hard-rezz totally dead players
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

7) Next map: Forgotten Shrines (Capture Points) (team vs. team)
Here i have to say, that this map has to be overhauled a lot if implemented, otherwise it will be more like Skyhammer Knock-down party :>

  • Objective to capture and hold 3 (up to 5) notes and getting points for kill/capture/hold (compare GW2 PvP)
  • respawn from stomped and so totally dead players every 15 seconds in base, no ability to hard-rezz totally dead players
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

8) Next map: Golden Gates (TDM + Priest kill) (team vs. team)

  • Objective to annihilite every player of the enemy team AND the enemy “Ghostly Priest” or reach a maximum of XXX Points
  • respawn from stomped and so totally dead players every 1 or 2 minutes when priest is alive, maybe the ability to hard-rezz totally dead players (compare PvE/WvW)
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

1) The Start
To join a HA match in GW2 you could normaly start in the Mist’s. So maybe no option to join solo, but create a team with 5 or more players. (Maybe if the maps are large 6 players, but not like GW1 groups of 8, that would be too much i think)

2) First map: Elite Zaishen Battle (team vs NPC’s)
Maybe this map is not necessary, but here you had to fought a group of NPC’s for a maximum of 10% moral boost (depends on time) on your (Mana) and HP.
In Guild Wars 2 this map could be implemented for your team having a “warm-up”, maybe getting something like a moral boost, compared to the buffs you’re getting from Svanir and Chieftain on Forest of Nifhel. (should be not too high)

  • Objective to annihilite every enemy NPC (TDM) (NPC’s with Veteran or Elite NPC rank)
  • Win reward: Buff?!

3) After you fought the Zaishen NPC’s you’re moving to the first map:
The Underworld
Here i like to say, that every team had a so named “Ghostly-Hero” (<3 one of the most favorite miniatures in GW1 and loved by all HA players)
This NPC were following you through all the maps, had some nice abilitys to attack enemy players, had a large HP pool and was very tough.
When your team killed the enemy Ghostly Hero, you got all your skills recharged and earnt a moral boost of 10% (like from Zaishen).

  • So in GW2-HA the Ghostly Hero should be implemented aswell and should have a Legendary or Champion NPC rank.
  • It should be possible to let the Ghostly Hero follow one player on speak (compare GW1)
  • Some Weapon-skills and the ability to heal, like the “Lords” on Legacy of the Foefire
  • when one team managed to kill the enemy Ghostly Hero, you’re getting all skills recharged and perhaps a buff compared Svanir/Chieftain-kill

The Underworld: (TDM + no respawn) (team vs. team)

  • Objective to annihilite every player of the enemy team (TDM) or win by time-out
  • Downstated players, but NO RESPAWN, but maybe the ability to hard-rezz totally dead players (compare PvE/WvW)
  • Win reward: Silver?! rankpoints?! (for PvP title or totally new rank, compare GW1 Gladiator – Hero)

4) Next map: Fetid River (TDM + Priest kill) (team vs. team)
Every team has a “Ghostly Priest” stuck in the enemy base, resurrecting all (totally dead) players on his spot every 1 or 2 minutes. (includes “Ghostly Hero”)

  • Objective to annihilite every player of the enemy team AND the enemy “Ghostly Priest” or reach a maximum of XXX Points
  • “Ghostly Priest” should have a high level of HP and a skill to heal himself (Veteran, Elite, or Champion NPC rank)
  • respawn from stomped and so totally dead players every 1 or 2 minutes when priest is alive, maybe the ability to hard-rezz totally dead players (compare PvE/WvW)
  • Win reward: rankpoints?! Silver?!

last week i thought about the old times i had in GW1 two years ago.
I was very active in the PvP – HA (Hero’s Ascend) scene and enjoyed that gamemode very much.

For those of you, who didn’t played GW1 PvP, HA was something like a global tournament (EU, NA,..) with K.O. system. There were 9 Arenas you had to pass with a group of 8 people, until you got into the Hall of Hero’s, where you fought 1v1v1 or 1v1 in random generated gamemodes. I will not describe the look of the maps, so pls

Here i will post some of my ideas, how A-net could bring this back with the awsome GW2 mechanics.

At first i want to say, that they can’t just copy the maps 1:1 in GW2, cause there are so much things you can do more in GW2. (Just think about jumping, dodging, portal, blink, downstate, heal, …)
So every map has to be overhauled. This includes things you need to have in TDM like “Sudden Death”, “Time-Out” (compare GW2 PvP 15 mins), “Maximum of Points” (compare GW2 PvP max. points 500) to balance, or otherwise: mechanics to counter totally bunkerish setups.

I would really appreciate to hear your opinions about my thoughts and maybe you have some new ideas.

Before i start, i want be sorry if my english is not that good, cause it’s not my motherlanguage. :>

I noticed, that it is not possible to transform 2 azurite crystals and 5 dust into 1 Azurite Orb. Although it has the same rarity and stuff like the other crystals/orbs.

Is this a bug and will this be fixed?!

…. sooooo you played pvp for the boosters?! sorry but this post is bullkitten. there is no reason to not use your boosters while playing, because you only get more glory, not rankpoints. (you can stack them btw to 10h)

I still have around 500 boosters left and i dont even care, if they get deleted lol.
I rlly dont get why people are crying about this.

If you mean TeamQ, then (keep in mind than some might be wrong):

  1. Maylo.5892 -> Guardian, standard bunker, unknown traits, Staff and Mace+Focus
  2. Fraelin.7409 -> Guardian, standard bunker
  3. Levis.6137 -> Guardian, standard bunker
  4. Xion.3509 -> Guardian, standad bunker
  5. Empathetic Fighter.2065 -> Guardian, standard bunker

all the guardian builds are 0/5/30/30/5 clerics bunker with staff and mace/fokus.

You do realise they confirmed march 18th was a “maintenence build” and that the feature build was early summer or late spring right? So your patch is more like May.

So i have the question, why do you want new gamemodes when the classes aren’t even balanced?! And here we go, there are balance changes at 18th march. so let’s wait for it first and see what they bring us. After this we can discuss about new pvp-arena-content.

+1 here. But i don’t hope this is gettin’ too much. The Mesmer isn’t rlly weak, he is very insane support for the team (Portal, Chaosstorm), high dps through GS and shatterbuilds and much mobility (blink, stealth). The only problem is, that this class is countered by the currently metaclasses like Warriors. If you buff this class too much, while nerving the current metaclasses, good Mesmers (i know there are not many in these times) will way over the top too OP!
So the Mesmer needs no buff, other classes need to be nerved a little bit, so that this class is a bit more viable again.

What type of structure would you find interesting for leagues and ladders?
- Something that is based on players skill level (not SoloQ LB or spvp-ranks!!)
- should only be implemented for teamqueue pvp or can be both Squeue and Tqueue, but with different kinds of rewards

How long should a season last?
- 3-4 months

What would motivate you to play in one?
- The competition to play vs. teams with the same skilllevel
- train with a team to get better and better for unique rewards
- balanced classes

What types of rewards would you like to see?
- unique things only attainable through pvp
- most pvp players dont care about pve ascendet armor or stuff, give them smth unique for the pvp scene (compared to legendaries in pve)
- thought about some nice things for the Guilds maybe (capes – compare GW1 gold/silver/bronze)
- or special, new armor/footprint effects like the legendaries have (able to turn on/off) so everybody in pve/wvw/pvp can see
- let people show their ranking near their name/character

How would a player earn these rewards?
- rewards based on their skilllevel (teamqueue wins against equal teams)
- could be working with a team-leaderboard
- those rewards should not be farmable like the pvp-finisher!

How would you encourage players of all skill levels to participate?
- like i said players should be rewardet for their skilllevel, not for farming hotjoin or beeing lucky in soloqueue and gettin’ carried by other players.
- so give !everybody! a reward, but make differents between normal spvp players and very good teamqueue teams (compare weekly ESL tournements)

Fix Spirit Watch

Hey guys, just wanted to pop in here and state that come the release of the feature build players will no longer be able to carry the orb while in a transform. For those unfamiliar with what a transform is in PvP, it is a skill that changes your skill bar. I.E Rampage, Elixir U, Tornado, etc. We’ve also trimmed off some hard edges on the map to make travel more smooth and functional.

Thanks and I hope this makes the map more enjoyable for those whom have issues with it.

They should remove the orb and replace it WITH a transform, not the other way around.

Picking up the orb would turn you into a spirit, with spirit skills, that way no matter who picks up the objective, they are all transformed into the exact same thing.

I agree here. Don’t forget sword Rangers, X/D eles and other classes with a long charge are to strong on this map.

The dragon finisher hasn’t been designed yet, otherwise you could find it in the gw2.exe.
See this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRoRUlOBgGU) was the phoenixfinisher leaked on youtube, long before anybody reached that rank. So im pretty sure it was extracted from the gamedata.
If A-net will implement the finisher, im sure some guys will load it on youtube.
