You never know Kamara you never know…… You just might get a person that says “If they can do that, you should be able to do the same”……. <facepalm>
The WVW zones have turned in to ground targeting kiting/pusycat wars. This makes melee classes pointless to get in close when all these ground targeting skills stack and kill the toughest of tanks in less then 0.5 of a second. My idea to fix this problem is to make ground targeting skills [GTS] have a limiter or each person have a limitation on how many ground targeting skills [GTS] can hit them at a time. For example if there was 100 [GTS] cast in one spot those 5 enemy people standing on that spot will only randomly get hit from 3 of the 100 [GTS]. Keep in mind this is only my example and I would expect Anet to experiment with how many [GTS] can hit a person at a time. 3 maybe to low but as it is 100+ [GTS] is to high.
This thread is talking about a LARGE amount of people facing another LARGE amount of people in WVW. This is NOT talking about a 10 vs 10 fight. So please leave your small fighting experience out of this thread.
PS [GTS] Stands for [ground targeting skills]. If you missed that then maybe you shouldn’t post in this thread. Because I expect that the lack of understanding will show in whatever you say.
Healing Spring is a trap but doesn’t put me in stealth with trapper runes. Is this a bug?
Healing Spring can be recast up to 3 times and have 3 healing springs on the ground. Is this a bug?
Beastly Warden trait cant be used in down state. Is this a bug?
Quick Draw trait doesn’t work with the greatsword skill swoop. Is this a bug?
Trapper’s Expertise trait says Boons and conditions caused by traps. What boons?
Hidden Barbs trait says damage increase 20%.. Vage contexts dont you think?

Is it just me or do all the posts I see complaining about changes? If this is the case then I must ask ya’ll to STOP complaining. Anet is doing a GREAT job for a free to play game. YA….. YA…… we all have to buy the expansion big wip! I used to play a so called free to play game but in truth it was a pay to win game and I’m not going to tell you how much money I wasted in it. But I will say that Anet has an honorable standard comparing to every mmorpg I have ever played and that is a load of games. DAoC, Lotr, wow, realm online, and more! I am happy and thankful for the content you have given me Anet as for the trolls you can all go sit under a bridge.
My wishlist to Anet is to give us long term goals in wvw now that rank ability’s will be easy to complete. And no! I am not going to kill 500,00 dolyaks. And the server that comes in first place getting bonus chests as a reward is a BIT lack luster for those that spend hours really trying to build their server score. I’m NOT complaining darnit! Just wishing.
When I saw the trait ((Protective Ward)) I wanted to cry for joy and say **** u theifs. And the trait ((Quick Draw)) switch to my great sword and use the leap skill (Swoop) then 5 seconds later (Swoop) AGAIN! I LOVE IT! Making it even easier to get away from enemy’s. Having traps not go off right when placed down is even BETTER! I LOVE IT ALL! So when using trapper runes even tho I use a dmging trap it still puts me in stealth because the trap doesn’t go off right away.
I don’t know what you other rangers are crying about but what I see is that we get more % dmg and a hell of a lot more serviceability. Keep in mind we will have more specialization points to spend and longbow skills base range will be set at 1500.

There are some problems but I see more pro’s then con’s. So my advice is to stop kittening :p
I’m seeing the same thing. I big arss delay in going in to stealth and if that isn’t just it on top of it all it seems like the first time I go in to stealth it is shorter then the rest of the time if I stack stealth. Let me explain. I use 3 trap skills in a row right after each other. First trap gives 2 seconds 2nd and 3rd trap will give the complet 3 seconds each. So I say again the first time going in to stealth only last 2 seconds not 3. WTH!?
I’ve been playing more and I set my traps and some times I dont even stealth WTF!? Please fix.
Ever sense the update on march 31 the trapper runes when casting a trap only lasts for 2 seconds not 3 seconds like the trapper runes say they should last for. And the initial casting of a trap takes like 1 second longer to go in to stealth.
Drop the Hammer: This skill I can see will be a big problem in the future of wvw. The Range is to far, the energy cost is to little and the cd/cool down is to short. I do admit it takes time to cast and that is a good thing but there needs to be less to this skill then as it is now. Make it 800 range THEN I can see it being more balanced.
Coalescence of Ruin: And you people think rangers hit 2 2 2 2 all the time, just wait till this new class comes out. I have a few questions on how this skill will effect wvw vs keeps, towers & castles/temples. I wonder can this skill be cast through a gate to hit people on the other side or vice versa? The range is so great on this skill will this skill scale the walls of a tower and hit siege weapons? If so it will be on the shortest cd/cool down skill out there to hit siege in hard to reach places making it pointless to build siege to defend structures.
Disable enemy names in wvw zones!
This is a basic crucial problem. Because it takes away from the strategic hiding aspect of the game. Forinstance a guardian class hides himself in a building. In doing so his viewing radios is smaller. Because the walls abstract his line of sight. Then along comes a lowly enemy that pin points where the guardian is hiding because the guardian’s name is sticking out of the wall.
I believe that disabling enemy names in wvw zones will give people more strategic battle scenarios. This change will help low populated servers to have a fun time working as a team in a small group and for those that don’t want to zerg all the time. In short this suggestion gives more content to the game. In more ways then one.
I brought up the suggestion to my guild and they said a mezmer could just hide in a fort and use [Portal Entre]. So I said have anet disable [Portal Entre] in wvw. Mezmers are the most cry’ed about class out there anyways. Then they said enemy’s hide in side the forts and it becomes a hide and seek game. Then I said is that a bad thing? Its search and destroy. Its not like they cant do that already with a thief stealthing a group. If their still is a problem anet can just add a new indicator on the map showing that enemy people are inside a fort. That would just cut down the search and destroy time still giving more content to the game.
On a side note. If enemy names do get disabled in wvw, anet can work with the features that size does matter. If some one choose to be BIG with a BIG race then they are easier seen in wvw making it unfair. So anet can give a bonus to bigger races and people that choose to scale their size even bigger. Their is so much that can be done with this I just mentioned the bar bones of the idea.
I’m NOT saying to take off enemy names when you target them. Nor am I saying how to take off player names in options. If one or two of these cross your mind then you miss my point and I suggest you re-read what I posted…… slowly.
Remember this game is called guildwars. Key word WARS.
