I think this would be a wonderful idea. I know most of you people think ah no.. But the speed of the siege would be so slow those evil scenarios you are imagining wont happen. But what would happen is better siege on siege warfare in defending and offending. Giving more strategic options to WVW.

This is the kinda stuff WVW needs. We need more strategic options in WVW. People like you guys that shoot down ideas are those that don’t understand that its you who limit updates by happening in WVW. Because Anet gets so much flack from us. Yes that flack has been justly earned. And we all know that the Anet WVW team is lacking in strategy thinkers and tend to push responsibility on to the public with polls. But the answer isn’t with the many. Because statistically there are more halfwits then fullwitted people.

Please fix the alpine borderlands south camp that initiates swords when no enemy’s are engaging it.

Please fix/remove the alpine borderlands north east and north west towers function upgraded called “watchtower” working 24/7. This radar function makes these towers impossible for small groups to capture because of the foresight and proximity of the enemy’s spawn.

Please fix the popular offensive desired choice in breaking down walls over gates.. Because by you’re design walls are less defended by guards and siege. Making the offenders strategic choice to penetrate the walls over the gates. A way to fix this problem is by doubling the walls health and doubling the trebuchets damage. This will add credence to you’re design choices and balance to siege.

I just logged in the game and I still can’t tell the dif. I say just remove the shield in platinum so it doesn’t look like gold.

The new old picture you’re showing isn’t what it looks like in the game when comparing platinum and gold. There needs to be a fine dif between platinum and gold and there isn’t right now that its a bit upsetting.

There are three things that make theif’s over powered::

  1. Options snap ground target to current target. This makes staff 5 skill to easy.

The Fix: Disable this option function to work on staff 5

  1. Bandit’s Defense utility skill is a break stun, block & knockdown..

The Fix: Remove the break stun

  1. Escapist’s absolution removes a condition when you evade an attack 1 second interval.

The Fix: Make it 2 seconds of a interval.

F Keys making weapon keys not work

When I’m fighting another player I find that after hitting one of my f keys, my weapon keys stop working. I have to hit my f keys over and over to fix the problem. It even activates my chat and will even link the skills I’m trying to use if I click the skills with my mouse. Its acting like I’m holding down ctrl. I am using a logitech g13 keyboard. This problem started with todays patch 10/4/2016. Am I the only one having this problem?

Siege Repair Hammer - Feedback

I was excited to see in the patch notes today that walls in WVW are getting improved. I say this because it makes me think that Anet has a inkling that there is a problem with walls AND THERE IS! Most fortification fights are at walls not the gates. Because walls in GW2 are the easiest method in taking a fortification. I believe gates should be easier to break through but harder if people defend with siege. But this isn’t the case. So I would like to propose my idea about WVW wall constructs. Where at each tier level a fortification wall will expand its width. Making it so defenders can build siege to defend fortifications that are at higher tier levels. So at tier level 0 and 1 you have the same walls as in the game right now. But at tier level 2 and 3 the walls expand so that defenders can build out side the range of the typical Elementalist AOE skill called meteor shower. This idea if apply’ed will give more incentive for offenders to make their stand at more locations and give defenders a chance to defend vs a force they cant handle. Defenders should always have the initial advantage over a greater force that focuses in one spot. This proposal will make it so the repair hammer that just came out today balanced so that a offending force has a chance to focus in one spot. Repair siege hammers today are a unbalanced idea that cater to bigger number forces. Their needs to be wall changes before repair siege changes.

(New Problems for WVW)

Subject: Location markers and object markers.
Problem: To many keys to press not enough hands to press with.
Solution: Make a option to press one key to cycle through all markers. Or to even make that key cast object markers if something is targeted and cast location markers when nothing is targeted. Then a person can have one key to rule them all one key to find them and in the darkness bind them all.

Subject: Caravan shipments delivered upgrade system.
Problem: Their are towers that only have 1 supply camp sending Dolyaks for upgrades.
Solution: Number of caravan shipments delivered adjusted on those towers. And my personal opinion is to make towers upgrade sooner then keeps.

(Old Problems for WVW)

Subject: Commander tags being visible to every one.
Problem: A person can make an account on a enemy server to spy out enemy commander locations.
Solution: Give an option to command with out the commanders tag being visible to all.

Subject: WVW scoring battle zones
Problem: Very little action in new Borderlands.
Solution: Time gate Eternal Battlegrounds. Forcing people to learn and get to know the new Borderlands. And hell they might even like the place.

Over all feeling of patch: LOVE IT! Great job anet. Two thumbs up!

Side Note: I don’t normally post feed back. But if any of you Anet developers feel like my input has substance. Then please send me a message saying so. That way I may have more will power to post and not feel like what I post is being swamped in the sea of little school girls complaining about balance.

Anet please fix it so that we use WvW build in the arena and NOT our PvE build. It is a real pain in the arss to have to change my PvE build back and forth. Or hell why not just give the zone a whole new build of its own called GHA guild hall arena

Wings of Resolve Effected by chill

The skill wings of resolve leap is being effected by chill and cripple. In the 2nd beta this was fix till the last beta where they added the pull function it got broke again. So in short when I leap with chill or cripple it wont leap the full amount. Please fix… thank you.

I played smoother fps then ever before with the 64 bit client for 4 minutes till my 4 gb of ram maxed out at 98% usage. Then my client froze up and I had to ctrl alt delete my way out of the game. Then I went back to the 32 bit client and the game runs just as smooth as the 64 bit. Where as before trying the 64 bit client my 32 bit client would be a kittenoppy. Its like just running the 64 bit client made my 32 bit client run smoother. Very fishy… I do say so my self….

I agree. I’m a bet disappointed. I’m even more disappointed in how much PvE it takes to get guilds to claim and be useful in WvW. Don’t get me wrong I like what they gave us. But in the focus of WvW I feel kinda screwed. Kinda like that change on arrow carts. Who ever made that change on arrow carts clearly doesn’t play WvW.

How about making a reward system for defense. Based off a % of DMG you do to enemy’s. I say based off of DMG % and not kills because some times… HELL most the time when you are defending you cant kill any one. Because of the out numbered amount of people/enemy’s all targeting you. In short that means it is a death wish to peak your head out to shoot at one person when you got many gunning for you. And how Anet broke the arrow-carts didn’t help at all. So there you have it…. A reward system based off of dmg % not kills when defending a location your server owns.

WTF anet!? You took the only siege that could defend a fortification and made defending a place impossible now. Yes I might be jumping the gun. And who knows you might have a system to defend fortifications with the release of HOT. But it is hard to give you guys the benefit of the doubt for your track record of WVW. I mean hell! Just look at the uselessness of oil and cannons. Where no one can make use of them for fear of 1000 ground targeting skilled being launched at them. Or elementalist being able to to take out whatever siege a defender makes on the wall. I was in the new BL stress test and was kinda disappointed in one area. It is that in the new fortifications there are more places to atk. Making a defenders job harder to be in all places at once. Don’t get me wrong… I love what you guys are doing to the game. And all the things to look forward too. Its just siege needs a whole make over and I’m not talking about cosmetics.

So you’re taking retribution so you literally will do less damage and lose out on invocation for 1 stack of stab on dodge, an okay choice in Spvp but terrible choice in WvW and strong-hold.

Yes I sacrifice physical damage in the invocation line for more defense in the retribution line when playing my condition build. I repeat condition build…….Sorry if that doesn’t make sense to you but it makes plenty of sense to me.

Wall of text that ignores the plethora of condition counter play in the game and still provides 0 evidence of your same DPS claims.

Same DPS claims…. Same DPS claims as what? I explaining to you how effective conditions are on the Revenat. You so far have given me vague statements that cant hold weight. Explain yourself if you can because it sounds like your pulling this stuff out of your crack.

Only bad players will sit in melee range once they know you’re a condi Rev, and if you’re using Shiro/Mallyx you’re losing out on way better builds you could be running.

It seems to me you don’t know how effective the Revenant class can hold a target down with applying chill. As for me using shiro/mallyx you speak in ignorance on its use. Just as you speak in ignorance on how easy it is to keep a enemy in melee range by using chill.

Learn a little something from more seasoned players since clearly you must not have known that.

You explained nothing other then your so called many hours of ignorance. I gave you detail you gave me how much you played. That speaks nothing of the matter at hand. Received and denied….

You swap legends as a Rev you cant keep using Phase traversal so i don’t know what you’re even trying to get at here. 9 seconds is a long time trying to chase or get away from someone.

5cd for infiltrators arrow please. Actually i would put 8cd there as they can escape with it unlike us who can olny chase the target.

While were at it infiltrators strike could also use 5cd, why thief is allowed to teleport all over the place for both defense/offense yet some ppl asking to nerf our mobility – the olny reason to pick shiro inthe first place? We have 0 mobility outside of Shiro, so please stay away from something that inst op at all in spvp.

That is some pretty weak sarcasm/logic…. If you really put both classes together you would see that Thief’s need that mobility because of their squishness. Where as Revenants have heavy armor having more toughness better heals and a hell of a lot more condition control resistance and don’t forget the bigger health pool too boot.

Your suggestions have been received and denied……. For lack of sense.

As a reminder I would say this post is about putting a limiter on this get out of jail free skill. Just like other teleporting skills have. It is NOT about taking away the skill. Its all about tweeking it to balance it out.

You switching legends isn’t a small ordeal as a Revenant. The act of doing so means you’re not in shiro, which means your skirmishing potential just significantly dropped because you no longer have multiple stun breaks.

Its called stability when dodging buddy and 9 seconds later you got those so called things you point out back. So your points aren’t valid.

Your dps didn’t take a hit on condition builds, well prove this statement. Torment requires them to move, confusion requires them to attack to get real damage out of either of these conditions.

You do play this game right? I ask this because torment and confusion does do damage even with out moving or using skills. Maybe not as much as it can but it does. And consider that a enemy has to use a skill to remove such conditions that means the confuss stacks will do the full amount of dmg. and consider how fast the Revenant class can put so many stacks of torment on a enemy. You truly believe that people will just stand still till torment is off of them? And on top that the the Revenant class can do good burning stacks with chill weakness and vulnerability conditions. You really understate what a Revenant capabilities.

I can do the same exact thing a Revenant does with shiro phase traversal with sword 2 on thief

No you cant. The effects/actions of both skills are far from the same. You have to stop and consider that Theif’s cant just switch weapons and get 50% energy back and start using their weapon skills that cost energy. Where as Revenant every 9 seconds gets 50% energy back every time they switch legends.

Yes a chill build does work very well on the Revenant class. I tested it out and its crazy. I’m not going to give you my build because I don’t ever want others to use something I made vs myself. But I can tell you for a fact it works and it works well.

How can you even compare judge’s intervention with phase traversal. One has a 45 second cooldown where as the other has a 0 second cooldown?

For the most part once we’re on a target, we’re practically stuck on them until one or the other dies.

The other thing is our balance is through energy management. Yes, we can indeed chase down our target indefinitely, but what do you do once you get to your target and have no energy to do anything else?

You switch legendary and get 50% energy back.

You are forced to switch and when you get off of shiro your dps takes a hit.

Is EXACTLY like all other teleports. You know? Guardians, thieves, mesmers…all can do the same.
Not a Rev problem, but a skill type one. So, that’s why no1 is really complaining.

This kinda reply dumbfounds me……. Its no where near exactly like other teleports. My problem is it has no limiter like other teleports. Its ridiculous on how you can spam it and get to a enemy that you just see a crossed the map in a blink of a eye. I’m just going to call the skill god mode for now on. Its that cheesy…..

You guys are defending it for now because you only see it in a small scale scenario but when this goes on the big scale of professional guild comps. You’ll be crying so loud the words I told you so wont even be heard because of your noise.

I hope you guys know how radical’s this skill “Phase Traversal” is? I’m dumbfounded how no one is talking about it in the forums. Teleporting up mountains and through houses. No class can out run you nor can they catch you. Its the one and only thing I see that unbalances the Revenant class. It really should have a 5 second timer or a cost of 35 energy or decrees teleporting a person to 900 distance. Am I the only one not making a wish list on the forums but trying to give sound advice in the hope of balance?

I’ve not tested out the physical damage aspect of the class but I have extensively tested out the condition builds of the class. And I find it very balanced. The only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the skill “Phase Traversal”. It needs more energy cost and or shorter distance of us. As it is incredibly easy to enter and exit battles. Making the skill radical’s.

If I were to choose I would take away 10 energy cost from the skill “Riposting Shadows” and add 10 energy cost and decrees range to 900 to “Phase Traversal”. “Riposting Shadows” is one of those skills rarely used if you take all the other skills in to mind. So I believe making that skill when really needed to be of use and not find yourself with the lack of energy when you do need it.

Every thing I say here is in the mind set of wvw/pvp where mobility fighting is the main consideration.

SKILL 1 FIX: Initiate combo after first attack. So that 2nd and 3rd attacks if missed will still cast the symble.
SKILL 3 FIX: Make this skill work like the new longbow skill “deflecting shot”. Where you can pick its direction to cast.
SKILL 4 FIX: Apply hit to 5 people.
SKILL 5 FIX: Cast when moving.

These changes with out increasing damage, cast time or range will balance things out a bit and not feel like us guardians are getting the end of the stick when it comes to all other hammer using classes.

You can do the same with the ranger traps. I think its normal as long as you are
not in combat.

Nope…. Ranger traps go away if you switch to another trap skill on your skill bar.

I can cast one trap and then wait for the CD to end and switch out a skill for another trap and cast it over the first trap. In short I can cast every single trap on the ground with out the traps vanishing.

Read the description on them, they do not stack. If they did before for you it was a bug that they fixed.

Ok… Believe it or not, your right. It does say it doesn’t stack with any tiar of the same item. I never really saw that, till I looked at a sigil that WASN’T in a weapon. If it had that message when in a weapon I probably wouldn’t have wasted a bunch of gold on the majors sigils of generosity. And it did work before the patch on August 25th 2015. I’m a bit upset over the gold I wasted and replaced with sigil’s of purity now. ><

As it says in the title. I used to be able to use a superior and major sigils of the same type and have it stack its effect. I didn’t read any notes about this being a fix so my guess is it is a bug. Can you guys from ANET tell me if it was a bug from the get go and got fixed or is it a bug that they don’t work together any more?

For starters, one of the recent revenant builds brings 888 point party regen in spvp, i cant even think how far it will get scaled in wvw or pve with other effects such as foods, wrench consumables, etc. + combo effects from other party members. will it hit 1200s ? 1500s ? no idea.
that right there alone is a HUGE team buff against condis, and we just dont know what else is in store for us.
there are far more ways to counter condis then just condi removal as illustrated by example above, you’ll still take the burst but eliminate the sustained nearly completely. how would you like to eliminate sustained completely from a power build ? and i do mean completely, as in zip, zero, nada, you opponent will be immune to you

Healing is healing and I wouldn’t specify it to being a counter to conditions. Its more a counter to over all damage or and DEATH. Your statement about “more ways to counter conditions then just condition removal”. Isn’t really specifying to anything other then yes we can dodge, yes we can run like hell out of range of enemy condition skills. Hell! why even fight? But all that applies to over all damage and is very broad and not so specific on what a true counter to conditions should be. As for the last question you had at the end of your post the answer is block or and aegis.

I don’t know what your using to justify the idea that the Guardian has no ability to deal with condition damage. They have some of the best capabilities to deal with condition damage. Not only that, but they have some of the best option for dealing with their entire groups condition cleansing.

I already did explain this but I’ll say it again in other words. Guardians CAN deal with conditions but CAN’T deal with condition damage. My POINT being, even a guardian that is good at clearing conditions has a hard time with condition damage because of the small window of time that a stack of 5 confess can do. This is stressing my MAIN POINT that there is more defense vs physical damage then condition damage. So allowing protection boon to effect condition damage would open that small window of time making the game play based off of choose not on effect. Comprende?

As someones said above, wait until HoT. The games mechanic on condi is broken at the moment.

Waiting for HOT is one thing but anet has showed us a lot of the new trait lines and weapons. So we do have some for knowledge of what to expect. Even if they give us new runes and sigils that give the new resistance boon it wont synchronize because sigils and runes effects are random. And there are already sigils and runes that remove conditions. Hell! At lest with physical damage the state toughness is a defense but is worthless vs condition damage. Lets say they give us new stats with HOT. Main state vitality miner stats power and ferocity. That way we have a natural defense vs condition damage just like toughness does vs physical damage. But if they do that you’ll just see necro’s even more powerful with more health and more green bar health. This is why I’m pointing out that boons need a bit of changing. Because whatever they do with adding stuff it wont synchronize like the physical damage system does. I could understand your point in waiting for HOT if I saw the new boon resistance in the new trait lines. But there isn’t as much as their should be if at all any, and for an example just look at the new grand master trait line for guardians “hunters fortification” it gives protection when using virtues. I would have expected that to be the new resistance boon not protection. How can a guardian tank with the lowest health pool and having no defense vs condition damage? Yes they can remove conditions but even that is limited. And even that is dependent on when and what conditions to focus on removing. It only takes 1 second for 1\3 of a guardians health pool to deplete by missing 6 stacks of burning. At lest if they change the protection boon to effect conditions it will give more of a window of time for most classes to pick and choose what conditions to remove or even just giving them the time to remove them. Right now the real problem is that there isn’t a big enough window of time to counter the effects when conditions are stacked upon one self. The same problem goes with ground targeting skills. There should be a limit on how many ground targeting skills should hit a person. But that is another topic.

I could have sworn retal already works against condis, at least sometimes against some, in particular, i got hit by a LOT of damage everytime i plopped chaos storm or feedback on a zerg last night, and my feedback causes confusion, so i took a ton of retal damage, got downed from it in fact more then once.

No retal doesn’t work on conditions. You may be getting confused by perplexity runes or guardian applying burn to you by hitting them.

as far as aegis removing 1 condi, i disagree with that. in fact, i would like to see far less aoe condi removal and less passive abilities and instead far more individual active condi removal abilities, this would help to balance things a lot, make condis more useful in largescale where they are often ineffective, while making them less OP in small scale where they are too effective. if this were to happen it will be up to each individual players skill and timing etc. rather then hiding in aoe spammed cleanses.

I like this idea. I agree on the less aoe condition removal facter.

As most of us know, conditions are coming more in to play in WVW. We all remember the old days of zerker this and zerker that where physical damage mattered most in most scenarios. Because of those times we had boons that were very effective vs physical damage. These boons I am talking about are aegis, protection, and retaliation. Now that condition builds are more effective then before. We see less of a lack luster of applying aegis, protection, and retaliation. Because protection and retaliation isn’t effected by conditions. Some may argue that aegis can be used against conditions but isn’t as substantial a benefit when applied against physical damage. It is true there is a new boon called resistance, that nullify’s the effects of conditions on you. But isn’t widely spread on all classes like the boons aegis, protection, and retaliation is. Now to the point of my post! If every one had a choice to choose one of these changes. what would you choose and why?

1. Making protection work vs conditions.
2. Making retaliation on a small dmg scale work vs conditions.
3. Making aegis remove 1 stack off a random condition.
4. Apply the new boon called resistance to all classes.
5. All of the above.
6. Content with no changes to boons vs conditions.

OK, I watched your video and thought it was pretty good… up until the end. I have to ask you, and most people that do posts, some very well thought out, why you feel the need to passive aggressive snipe at the end? It doesn’t help to rag on people or make veiled threats, and for someone like me just negates your entire argument.

The aggressive snipe is there because of the old borderlands where you have a treb hitting the south east tower from the keep called Hills. Or having the north
Gari in EBG trebing the castle wall all the freaking time. Its stuff like that that makes us aggressive because IT NEVER GOT FIXED. And those weren’t even as bad as this treb spot. So I feel that a little aggressiveness is just stressing my point. If you dont like it then I’m happy to counstal you about human behavior.

For every action there is a reaction. When that action is negative and repeated that reaction will be negative and stressed. Morality helps subdue the reaction but doesn’t control ones feelings. It takes a honest person to show his or her feelings. It takes a wise person to show how much feeling to show. And those who doesn’t show their feelings are just plain scary. Those who show to much feeling can be scary or easily manipulated by those that subdue their feelings. It is all about a healthy balance in the end. Remember this is why men rule the world. “throws a curveball in the salad”

Too much pve in wvw

I believe the PVE aspect really helps those defending when out numbered. Most the time I’m alone defending a tower by my self vs six other people. Now that the NPC’s have a use people are complaining, but I find it that those people have to slow down and not pull every single NPC thinking that the NPC do crap for dmg like they did in the old borderlands.

Excellent findings.

Thank you. Those two words really means a lot to me. I really went out of my way to help Anet and friends. If I got no reply’s in this post I don’t think I would do this again. It would really help me and I believe others if Anet would acknowledge people that go out of their way to help REALLY beta test things. When I mean acknowledge I mean dropping a word here and there on their forums to the people that explain in detail what they see needs fixing.
