Here’s to a good week in WvW once again with our bros on BP and AR.

I have attached a picture for each server to follow as the master strategy to follow in the Borderlands for each respective map.

All problems of this tier can be solved with this very very simple formula. It is a tried and true formula and I have tested it on multiple guinea pig servers.

According to my calculations, if this happens there will be a 0% chance of boring fights. The entire week will almost be as fun as PVE Achievements!!!

Shout out to the thieves from [Boss] and [East] on BP. Good fights by ruins and sw tower and the duels and chats after. That brings my list of people from BP that I’ve found to actually be good at duelling and small scale to a grand total of FIVE. Granted they were thieves though :] Hope to add more to that. Cheers.

If what you love the most about WvW is good fights, I say again: Play PvP.

Forgive me for actually reading what you wrote (which may not be actually what you meant, since you seem to be confused), but you say that you are frustrated by the fact that we seem to watch the scoreboard and you’re more satisfied with the way AR plays because of their sPvP background.

So why again are you playing WvW instead of PvP?

Is it because, in reality, your PvP skills are lacking and in WvW you can hide behind your commanders and larger groups instead of being forced to make or break a PvP team? Or is it because it’s easy to hide behind the failure of others when in WvW you are defeated?

Either way, it seems to me (based on your own words.. if you still don’t understand what you’re saying, maybe you should in fact draw me a picture since your arts and craft skills may be superior to your command of the english language), that you’re playing the wrong game.

If you aren’t man enough to get eaten up by siege, go play something else.

This what we love the most about WvW and BP just doesn’t offer that since you guys seem to focus more on points and the score. Yesterday around SW tower and supply in BP bl was evidence of that. We find AR a lot more challenging and more fun because of their spvp background.

We probably could make a serious push for T4 but scare amounts of good fights = bored Ebay. This directly affects our motivation. Playing for rank and score is already pretty boring and thus, we aren’t tryharding for T4 elsewise we’d be recruiting.

Our servers just have a different focus and ideas about what’s fun in WvW.

You know as far as I’m concerned, this is trolling. Saying you don’t give a hoot about the score is something soccer moms tell their 5 year old soccer playing kids.

If all you want are good fights, go play PVP, where everything’s 1v1 or team based and fighting skills can make or break your team.

WvW isn’t set up for good fights only; it’s set up for tactical and strategic offense and defense. The name of the game in WvW is how well you manage your forces, use your resources, and engage the other teams. Avoiding the use of siege or not using a tower for it’s tactical advantage is just stupid.

You’re statement of “harump harump good fights harumph” is either your idea of trying to bait us into not defending or your ignorant understanding of WvW. Think of WvW like chess; not protecting your queen or using assets to your advantage is basically another form of giving up.

We may not be winning the war, but I’ll be kitten if I’m going to be all carebear about points, and I guarantee your commanders don’t take that stance either.

Personally I am interested in the score, but not so much as to put score above fun. Perhaps the difference is that fun to me (and probably a lot of people) is a variety of things from defending a tower or keep that’s under attack, to ninja-flipping camps, to open field zerg combat, to scouting out enemy movement. Even beyond that I also quite enjoy the strategic aspect of the game and like to think of ways to maximize points with our effort. I guess some of us enjoy both the tactical battle game-play and the larger more strategic aspect of points and winning. Its not about “tryharding the scoreboard” so much as it is about a more complete and dynamic way of playing and enjoying WvW.

You should’ve been in BP bl at SW tower yesterday. Good example of BP’s siege tactics and direction in WvW focused on score compared to Ebay’s focus on good fights and open field.

I personally would like to see EBay stick around for a few more weeks. I realize it’s kind of selfish of me to say that, since EBay is bored with this matchup and many from my own server seem to want them gone, but I feel there are still a lot of lessons we can learn that we won’t really get from Crystal Desert if they are the ones that drop. No offense intended to CD, but as I understand it, they would provide “lessons” in coverage, whereas EBay provides lessons in organization and skill … unless CD has groups on par with Rekz / GF / FTF / GH / etc. … anyone know?

Skill, and the motivation to work together and acquire it, is the thing I feel BP needs most right now to grow as a server, and I think we stand the greatest chance of gaining that when matched with EBay.

2) IF other guilds (as a whole) were as motivated or organized as Ebay, Ebay would be in trouble. The fact that we have a public TS AND IT’S GATHERING DIRT AS I TYPE because guilds are split between TS and Vent is a source of contention on our server.

I love how Evilzara’s only argument is “Ebay is so desperate for T4”.

Of course people want to win but we aren’t tryhards for T4. We don’t recruit, we don’t just sit behind walls never to come out and fight, and we sure don’t push every day like it’s reset because we really don’t care about points.

If we wanted to be back in T4 we wouldn’t have taken a break like that first week with BP and DR where we lost. Most people were just burnt out of WvW and we didn’t organize or care. We’ve always had a problem with motivation here on Ebay. Heck, we used to be known for smashing reset and then falling off the rest of the week because we know WvW is all about coverage and our coverage is really bad.

This matchup is good for us because BP and AR come out consistently during the week.

You guys might not be the greatest at open field which we love here on Ebay but each week has been getting better and better. Breakouts and Keep pushes has kept us on our toes in our home BL. You can always find roamers, another thing we love here on Ebay, especially from AR with their spvp population but I’ve been seeing a lot more people from BP lately that can put up a fight.

Good fights over score. Always.

BP is making a really solid push into EB bl right now. Despite pushing them back at Bay, SW/NW tower, and a few sup camps, they are on the ball with Hills and holding the supply around it while contesting stuff and pressuring different areas. Too bad we barely have enough to defend. Fun fights.

After we took SM today, a dedicated trebber from Anvil Rock continued to treb Durios for us. Don’t think he realized till an Ehmry pug killed him but bkid doesn’t stop till someone forces him to stop! AR trains their trebbers well.

Hi BP. That’s 2 Bay flips in a row in DR borderlands just now. Fun flip the first time when you guys had 20-30 stuck outside inner gate right as we capped.

Sneaky sneaks with mesmer portals.

Hammer Guardian is ridiculously good. AOE protection on 3rd auto, Blast Finisher, Zealot’s hold/cc, Knockback for even more cc and to stop rezzing, Ring of Warding CC and area denial.

I can’t count how many times I’ve been Judge Intervention bombed by 5 Million ADBStyNoQQ Guardians to be Ring of Warding’d and just spammed knockdowns and holds. AND THEN ANOTHER GUARDIAN just loling at the doors to towers with another Ring of Warding. Fun times.

If you ever need practice with your stunbreaks/blinks/invuls/condition removals/defensive cooldowns, look for those guys to smash you :]

There were times during reset where BP had at least 220+. Did you get in late or just not look at the score the whole time?

The only time we ticked above 200 was pretty much the first hour when we held SM. Then after losing SM to DR, EBay and DR focused on pushing us off the EB map rather than the usual SM fight that breaks out.

Again nothing wrong with the way things went down, but the fights on EB and our BL were zergy rather than skirmishes. Nothing wrong with that either just not my preference. I like the smaller fights and don’t enjoy spending most of the evening on the defensive bundling up to avoid getting run over.

I/we are not embarrassed nor should we be. Despite being less favorable fighting conditions, my guild still killed far more than it got killed.

This is mainly because DR and Ebay have been hammering us on both sides of EB and our BL. EBay didn’t push into DR until late and left DR controlled SM completely alone for hours.

I think part of the problem that BP faced tonight was that they had around 15-30 in Ebay BL and weren’t able to get a foothold when they could’ve helped you guys out in Eternal or your home BL.

That and we rallied for a show of force since we came in 2nd last week.

Ebay mostly wants to have good fights and isn’t going to sit inside keeps playing it safe for points. We want to meet you in the open field. We want big groups fights. We want 1v1s and 3v3s and Fight Clubs and actual competitive fighting not against structures that don’t fight back.
