Holiday Blues, boys.
Yes, you have to get the full kill.
I know a lot of us would love to see DR or the other capitals get decked out for Halloween or Wintersday (and who knows, they still might).
But the reality is, that’s a large undertaking for the art team, and any time devoted to holiday assets and decorating entire capitals, is time taken away from developing new art assets for expansions.
I’d argue against the notion made by krookie that higher difficulty/higher numbers over the same mechanics=fresh content.
If the fractals are truly as zax describes, then yes it’s a content gate, but it’s a necessity to allow this “endless” feel they are going for.
Who knows, maybe at some point in the future some new build (or even an exploit) will be discovered to push the fractals beyond its internal “highest difficulty.”
No.
To a brand new tier entering only 2 months after release, and…
No.
To a gating mechanic on dungeons or other higher-end content, Especially one that won’t be visible to players!
It’s an unforeseen server stress. I clicked the “Trading Post” door and got tricked just fine.
It seems the distance from the candy door is a little more taxing on the system (especially with thousands of people doing it at once).
I’m at what appears to be the top for the Craze’s Folly jumping puzzle, but I got no achievement either upon reaching the area or opening the chest.
So this entire wall of CoF appears to have no collision, and because of that, you get shiny pictures like this.
siege>attacking. All the time. Every time.
Face it, the naga razer is the only thing that makes this class bareable

Just find a bind set-up that works for you. Honestly, more people should try Engineer and see what it really feels like to hot-swap kits for abilities on the fly.
Zenyatoo, I agree that getting in close on the wurms is the best option, but usually to do so, a team has to go through some blossoms to get in there. Even if a melee has been beating on the wurm for quite some time, some blossoms can respawn.
For those who can’t avoid poison, getting in close is indeed the best option. But if you’re a good dodger, I’d rather risk the wurm bile than the blossoms
The following is a detailed walkthrough of the Fyonna path. If you don’t wish to be spoiled, you have been warned.
Composition (all 80)
2 Necros (both heavy DS and conditions)
2 Engineers (1 semi-support, 1 explosives)
1 Guardian (tanky)
Note: Every group should have a Guardian for Twilight. Wave of Wrath is too good at removing blossoms
Nightmare Vines
First off, blossoms hurt xD I like the concept of them, but maybe they shouldn’t tick like 5 times a second. I like the design of the vines. We killed 5/6 with minor difficulty, and once the Greater Vine spawned, we turned all our damage towards it. Whenever one or more of the closer vines (those by the entrance) spawned, we would burn it down real quick before returning to the Greater Vine. This fight required lots of mobility, which only led to the excitement of the engagement. But like I said at the beginning, blossoms hurt, and rez-running through blossoms sucks!
Group went forward – Ambush Room
The ambush room was straightforward. We circled the room counterclockwise and mostly fought right on top of the archers to avoid blossoms.
Group went up – Husks
Got through the husks easy enough. The Defiler (or whatever the giant husk was called) was boring as hell. So many champions already suffer from this stand still and afk mentality, but this was the first time I could remember it for a legendary. Give him a knockdown or knockback, make him hit like a truck, force the players to be afraid of this guy. A knockdown or knockback would be just enough, because of the nearby blossoms.
The swarms
Luckily, I got through first time. Some teammates though struggled really hard on this section. The worst part…was our only waypoint was THE BEGINNING! The Guardian went ahead of me to check out the area, but he lost his stealth when he attacked the pups. He ran back to the end of the swarms, and the pups stayed there after the Guardian died to swarms. This made it doubly hard for the other 3 mates coming through. They had to deal with swarms, pups, and blossoms as they reached the top. Eventually, the Guardian and I used rez orbs to scout ahead, and after we had killed every last pup up to Vevina, the swarms disappeared.
Vevina
I’m fine with the Chaos Storm, but having her blink every 10 seconds iskittenannoying. 2-3 seconds of dodging chaos storm+2-3 seconds of waiting off Chaos Armor=only 4-6 seconds of actual time to inflict damage. It was a relatively easy fight, but it was slow as hell! When the Guardian got defeated once, I dodged in and out of chaos storms to rez him (yes rez from defeated…) because…our only waypoint was at the beginning!
After finally killing Vevina we got a waypoint…back at the Chamber of Envy, 2 boss rooms ago!
Fyonna
This was the worst of it all…I was eager to see how the Fyonna-possessed tree would compare to the Laurent one, given I did the Laurent path last night. We caught the spiders spawning, so I tried to turn all damage to the elite adds to see if we could burst em down. After realizing the adds kept spawning, we tried circle-kiting around the tree just doing damage to it.
Ultimately, we literally just held at max range and auto-attacked our way to victory. The few spiders that did spawn we would handle quickly then get back to chopping that tree. We had no other choice…already in the dungeon for 2 hours and our only waypoint is like a 3 minute run. We even had this instance where we were fighting a few of the elites, slowly backing up out of the tree room, and the tree reset and regained all health from <50%. We were still killing its minions; and were still probably within 2000 or less range of the tree. It makes no sense that it should reset while we still have full aggro on the spiders.
All-in-all, the dungeon was more frustrating than fun. I enjoy testing myself against these challenging explorable paths, but so many things here felt either unfair (blossoms), boring (giant husk & tree), or downright annoying (Vevina, broken waypoints).
Thanks for taking the time to read this feedback on Twilight Explorable – Fyonna path.

Anyone going into a dungeon with a Berserker’s set is foolish, even ranged.
PvE zerg tactics and fast kills won’t save you here. If you plan to survive a dungeon, each person on the team had better be self-sufficient, while at the same time providing support & DPS as needed.
Also, consider this…There are no trash mobs in GW 2 dungeons. The so-called “trash mobs” require at least the same strategies and mechanics neccessary to defeat bosses (and sometimes, even more so). If your group just started and you’re struggling/wiping consistently on “trash,” examine people’s traits, gear, stats, and everything else. Respecs are cheap, so it might take some experimenting to determine which trait spec works best for you. The explo dungeons are designed to be the hardest level of PvE content available now in Guild Wars 2. They are not meant for everybody. I do think AC explo is a little unfair in the picture it paints for future explos, but aside from that, it takes a coordinated team who can rely both on themselves and each other, using positioning, combos, and tactics to complete an explo without a wipe.
And that’s exactly how it should be

Commander of the army, my lv 80 Engineer.
Really, no Sylvari Engineers yet?
Time to break that trend! My level 80 Sylvari Engi with a Commando Coat.
