I’m in the same position. After running guilds in other games for a decade, I’m just over having to deal with other people. Guild Wars 2 has been my refuge because I have been able to do everything I want to do by myself or with my Husband. There needs to be a way for very small guilds to earn favor. Changing the system now, 3 and a half years after launch to force us into having to care about other people is just Uncool.

We won’t do it.

If we can’t level our own guild hall, just the two of us, we may be more tempted to play other games… or at least less inclined to play this one… I’m already feeling disenchanted by this change.

I agree with you to – this is very disappointing for small guilds.

As a 1 man guild I used to get some guild benefit from taking camps etc in WvW but that no longer seems to apply.

The missions currently on offer require a mimimum of 3 players. Hopefully some 1 player missions will be offered soon.

My current guild experience shows as 0/100 – perhaps there is some other way I can gain guild experience?

P.S.
By the way, I’m not expecting that small or even 1 man guilds should gain huge experience quickly but some experience would encourage us to build our guilds.

About some of the naysayers. Well there are lots of new players who haven’t seen it all before, even oldies like me, and detailed videos like this help us a lot.

I belive because of something incompatabile with the select_directory window…
Odd solution:
1) create a folder for a game
2) put a Gw2Setup.exe in it
3) change its name to Gw2.exe
4) run
in my case it begun downloading files in current directory…

This fixed the installer for me

I tried this and although it installed GW2 and allowed me to play it – there were some problems as i mentioned in this post:-

Worse still, when I quit GW2 and just tried to play again – it started downloading the entire 30000 plus files again

(Very simple! I just changed the name of Gw2Setup.exe by right-clicking and renaming it to Gw2.exe and after i tried again i went straight to the download.)

Yesterday EoM chests gave me no rewards and its the same today. Not sure whats causing this. I was still receiving dropped loot bags after using arrow carts etc.

Usually while on a Xerg my inventory becomes so full that I have stop to salvage loot.

Today I’ve been in a Xerg battle four times, with no chest rewards after the battle, despite entering the green victory circle and seeing the chest appear. Note, auto loot is always turned on.

I have since turned on AoE loot but still no rewards from chests even though I have clearly put lots of damage on the target.

Any ideas as to what might be the cause of this?
Got a feeling I’m missing the obvious.

Being pummelled – 5 minutes hard work for me – that slowed her down for perhaps 15 seconds in total – but good fun and something to learn from.

Yesterday I watched a player single-handedly kill the Champion Ogre Chief Engineer in Arid Fortress. I haven’t a clue how she did it because it usually takes quite a large group.

We(Red) had just taken Fortress and after everyone else left she suddenly appeared and destroyed me in a few seconds – she was from FrostReach

I then re-spawned nearby and attacked her with my minions but she quickly took me out again.

I then re-spawned nearby again, sneaked to the battlements to man a catapult and while she attacked the Ogre I blasted her for a minute or so with a catapult. I then went to finisher her off but even with the Ogre attacking her she simply destroyed me in a few seconds. I noticed her health was only down a few percent.

I couldn’t re-spawn nearby as it was contested so re-spawned at home base and ran back to man the catapult. However, before i could get a shot in she defeated the Ogre and took the Fortress. After that i was demoralised, jumped the battlements and ran off. With hindsight I should have sneaked around and found her name etc.

I’m still a relative newbie, Necromancer level 80, rank 38 soldier. By the way, my invulnerability spell was useless.

Sorry for the ramble but I’d love to know how a player like this becomes so powerful and are their many of them about.
