What’s the difference between this system and just selling your items on the TP then buying them back later?
Is this a Repo 105 joke?
edit for content: I think a formal loan market would be too complex to balance and would ultimately add limited value to the game. This isn’t real life where you need startup capital (to buy an education, start a business, etc…) to invest in order to make money. If you need money, you can always do CoF1 speed runs, farm orr events, borrow from friends, buy gems, ad nauseum.

Happened to me this morning. Also a mesmer.
Yeah no skipping or cutscenes were involved when I encountered the glitch. I’m thinking the WP change may have something to do with it, but I’ll have to try to see if I can recreate it.
Has anyone else noticed Magg getting bugged and refusing to progress since the patch? Over the past couple of nights, I’ve had Magg refuse to progress events at various points in CoF p2.
A couple nights ago it happened at the first devourer nest. He would run around, but wouldn’t trigger the event. We had to restart the dungeon and then it went smoothly the rest of the run.
Last night Magg flipped out in the magma field. Right by the last fire field, in the middle of the path, he just stopped moving. In other nights I’ve seen him randomly despawn, too.
Might it have to do with being stuck in what the game considers a combat mode? I’ve noticed too since the last patch, even if no one is in combat, the game considers us in combat mode sometimes and won’t let us waypoint around.

Staff already got nerfed from beta. I doubt they’re going to revert that anytime soon.
Thanks, Dulfy. Any chance you could add daggers to the queue?
Group stability is also found on Earth 30 elementalists.
Conditions ignore armor. That makes them super powerful against high defense mobs.
Does anyone know how to get these in PvE? The chest seems to come from the lvl 40 personal story (the stalwart chest item), but the other stalwart items are magician skinned and not the PvP Rubric.
Sometimes you don’t want to hunt through hundreds of posts to find out what the official word is. Like with the Blizzard forums, I suggest adding a “jump to red post” button to the forums.
3) Fire Aura: deploy fire field, select a target, switch to earth and quickly use Magnetic Grasp (dagger)
They unfortunately “fixed” that a few patches ago, and that fire aura no longer triggers the on-aura traits. Unless they changed it back, and I totally haven’t noticed.
As of this morning, the fire aura from fire field + D3 does not trigger on-aura traits.

(1) Dungeon finder
(2) Dungeon finder
(3) 5-man version of Ulduar.
I doubt it because (A) they’re too busy pushing out new content, (B) they’re too busy fixing bugs (see the post from Robert asking people to report Orr dungeon bugs), and © they’ve repeatedly stated that they did not intend to implement a dungeon finder.
I just hope they change their mind about ©.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there’s already an LFG tool that is used to automatch people for tournaments in sPvP.
Unless its coded in a really awkward manner, I just do not understand why the existing tool has not been expanded for PvE use.
Someone needs to ask about this during the reddit AMA on 11/26 at noon PST. I’d do it but I’m at work.
Answer: To have fun?
the only frustrating part about dungeons is trying to get a group for one (bugs excluded)
yes, yes, 100 times yes
what’s really funny about people who are OK with an LFG tool but rally against teleporting is that it’s already in the game; you can teleport directly into the dungeon as soon as one member logs in. and as the previous poster mentioned, you can already teleport straight to the dungeon via waypoints.
I do not have a psyduck big enough to represent my confusion.
I always thought a better LFG tool was in the works too until someone recently came out and said there was no LFG in the works. I forget exactly who it was, but I think it was during one of the last developer chats with one of the community sites.
Robert,
I was just wondering if you were aware that there’s already a system in place for cross server party matching for pug tourney groups in structured PvP. Could you just repurpose that code with some drop downs to reflect Dungeon / Mode / Path (or level for FOTM)?
I think that’s a better way to stop LFG spam.
It’s not just fotm. it’s if you want to do anything out of the main farming set. it’s so frustrating trying to get story mode groups right now that I’ve sworn them off until a real lfg tool is built into the game.
finally got a fifth, SE story mode crashed on the first boss, fifth never came back. over an hour wasted. I just don’t get it. Why does anet want to make it so hard for us to do this?
Can anyone explain why this is not in game or planned to be in game? I just don’t get why a functional LFG tool does not exist in this game.
spent 37 minutes trying to find a fifth for SE story so far. Sitting in LA spamming map chat is an abomination. This game needs a dungeon finder so badly. At least then I could go work on my dailies and have fun instead while LFG
Agree’d, although I never tried swtor it was an obvious failed WoW clone from the start. I haven’t had any problems finding a group because I’m in a guild socializing… go figure, eh? It’s an MMO, go make friends, I don’t want this to turn into where you get grouped with 4 other randoms and never speak a word through the entire dungeon.
Look – you never have to use an LFG feature. If you have friends and a great guild, good for you. It doesn’t hurt you to have it.
But for those of us who, for various reasons, (1) don’t have ready-made groups on hand and (2) hate the thought of standing around spamming LFG in LA instead of playing the game, a functional LFG tool is vital – particularly for dungeons, but could also be very useful for group events.
Moreover, just because you put together a group by chat spam doesn’t mean your going to talk to people. After a few days of trying I was finally able to get a TA story group via chat spam in LA. And guess what, no one talked the whole way through it except “thx” at the end.
Indeed, a lot of the “community” reasons against an LFD tool don’t apply in GW2:
(1) This isn’t WoW where people can’t interact across servers. Seriously – guilds are cross servers, people can spam LFG in overflow servers . . . the game actively encourages cross-server participation in everything but WvW. You can build lasting relationships (if you so desire) from a cross-server LFG tool.
(2) An improved LFG tool could help build “community” because it would get more people involved and would encourage social interactions by making it easier to group with people. This is particularly for players like me who would like to group more, but play during off-peak times, find it hard to get groups for any content, and thus would prefer to spend time playing the game out in the world rather than sitting in LA for hours doing nothing.
I have yet to see a cogent argument against an improved LFG tool. It’s either:
(1) personal attacks on others for being antisocial;
(2) “I don’t have a problem, so no one has a real problem, so nothing should be done”; or
(3) some vague appeal to “community” that boils down to ego-driven protectionism — basically, a majority of players would prefer to use it, but there’s a small and vocal group who are at the heart of a social network(big guilds, etc…) and thus derive a substantial benefit from making it hard for others to play the game with a wider social group.
GW2 remains a very busy game and from that perspective, an LFG tool is a luxury, not a necessity, at this point. Personally, I like them for efficiency and keeping map chat clean. But we must recognize that introducing one will be controversial rather than a no-brainer. Not that Anet seems to mind controversial.
It’s only controversial to WoW and EQ vets who have stockholm syndrome. The “community” argument is nothing but an excuse to introduce artificial barriers to entry to prevent people who can’t dedicate hours to finding groups (and then hoping they don’t fall apart) or those who aren’t in the biggest (or most dedicated) guilds.
It’s like saying “I had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to get to school, so you spoiled kids need to do it as well to build character.”Let’s face it, this game is already built around cross-server functionality. There is nothing to stop “community” building for groups of strangers that are put together by a matching tool vs. groups of strangers put together by LFG spam. If you get into a good group, you can still friend those people and play with them.
The lack of dungeon finder is something that a vocal minority feel strong about because that’s the way it should be, because that’s the way it was.
Personally, I’m sick of being terrorized by shut ins. I like this game a lot, but I work insane hours and I hate-hate-hate how hard it is to find groups for story modes as I level. Why did anet go through all the trouble of creating story mode dungeons if they’re going to make the content inaccessible? After a hard day at work, maybe I just want to kick back and watch Rytlock and Logan slapflight like little girls without having to make it a second job to do so.
I don’t know how it’s inaccessible? I announced in map chat, joined a pug, and ran a dungeon in all of 10 minutes. If typing a few words in map chat and actually being part of the community is too much to ask, maybe you should hook up the ole xbox and play some single player games. LFG tools shut out the community, make the game insular, and promote bad manners. If you don’t like people there are other games out there for single player. Take some time, get to know the community, make some friends. It’s what MMO’s are really about. It’s about experiencing the content with other people. Look at what’s happened in other MMO’s that have a lfg tool, look at what’s happened to the community.
Learn to read. I said that I wanted to play with people, but that’s its often hard for me to find groups because of my schedule and time requirements. Your attitude is the exact problem anet needs to squash.

I too would love a dungeon finder. It’s so hard finding people to do story modes with when you’re behind the leveling curve.
Thanks for making this. It’s a shame that we have to go to external tools, but way to step up for the community.
this game totally needs swtor-style loot beams. it was a great (and perhaps the only) gameplay innovation.
I second this. I find it insane that in 2012 we’re spamming zone chat for groups like it’s 1999. It is not fun sitting in LA for an hour spamming LFG and it’s caused me to give up even trying to do the story mode dungeons.
I just don’t get it.
DT is a great spell for point control in sPvP. Your foe either has to move off the point or get repeatedly hit with a huge damage attack on a 6s cd.
